The Browser Page that open ..shows following message :
The requested URL /discoverer/viewer was not found on this server.
We are using R12.1.1. Pls suggest whats wrong?

Project Pipeline should include those projects initiated by Oracle Sales, following a sale opportunity.
The projects should have a certain probability to get awarded, but were not yet approved to start execution.
If you don't implemented the integration between Oracle Sales and Projects, I suspect that view wouldn't be available.

Client submitted Projects/Enhancements/One-Offs

Greetings amazing Project Server 2013 Gurus!
Our institution will have MS Project Server 2013 with SharePoint 2013 in the next two months.
I need to start designing the project processes now to get a head of the game so......I will start with the most basic because I can do almost everything else.
How do I go about creating a client initiated submission form for everything that is not break-fix. How will the requests get routed? From the client perspective is there a "Where is it in the request pipeline" tracking?
Is it possible to create a specific form that will help identify specific types of projects/enhancements/One-Offs(standalone tasks)?
If this is possible for the client (project requester) side then how detailed can I get with criteria/routing/ect?

Hi Bill,
As far as I understand, your need is to design a custom workflow with stages and phases. From the submission to project approval, planning, execution and closing, you can propose at each phase/stage web forms with project attributes, adding eventually approvals
to go forward to the next stage.
Project Server has various reporting features that will give you an overview of your project pipeline based on your attributes.
You also can define various project types (EPT) to which you can attach specific governance such as WBS, workflow, project site template, webforms (called PDP).
To resume, I'd say that implementing Project Server requires a good knowledge in Project and Portfolio Management but also high skills on the product itself. I'd strongly recommend that you take support from one of the expert firm on Project Server.
Feel free to ask for more details, links or anything. Since your question is quite high level, my reply is so but I'll be glad to provide you links, either technical or about methodology.

Visual Studio Community Edition - Error on creating ribbon for Excel Workbook project

Hi. I've been struggling with this for a couple of days now so I hope someone can help me.
I have installed Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition. On installation there was no option to include VSTO and, looking on various forums, I found it was necessary to install the VSTO - November 2014 update separately, which I have done. I'm working on a
brand new virtual server (Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) and no other versions of Visual Studio have been installed (although I'm surprised to see Visual Studio 2012 as an item in All Programs - but it just contains command prompts).
I have created an Excel Workbook project. When I go to create a new item - Ribbon (Designer) - I get the error:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Office.Tools.Common.Implementation, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
I've searched the Internet for anyone who might have had this same issue but have been unable to find anything to help me. I've tried uninstalling the VSTO-November Update and VS 2013 CE and reinstalling both but still the same problem.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Importing Data into MS Project Professional 2013 from Excel workbook, can it be done?

Hi all, I am trying to get data in from several large work plans done in Excel, into MS Project 2013 Pro. I am familiar with the Import Wizard, but in this case, there is nothing to map from the Excel files it seems. Does that mean that I have to edit the
Excel files and make sure there is a column called Name to key from? Or do I do something else so I don't have to cut and paste or retype all of this? Well, as always, thx (and thank the heavens u are here).

I think it would help you if you exported a Microsoft Project 2013 file to an Excel workbook so that you can see exactly WHAT data your own Excel workbook should contain. Please try this:
Open an existing Microsoft Project 2013 file.
Click File > Export > Save Project as File > Microsoft Excel Workbook and then click the Save As button on the Export page.
In the Save As dialog, navigate to the folder where you want to save the Excel workbook file, and then click the Save button.
In the Export Wizard dialog, click the Next button.
On the Data page of the Export Wizard, select the Project Excel Template option, and then click the Finish button.
If you see a warning message about a missing filter, simply click the OK button, as this is a bug that will not affect the exported data.
Now, open the resulting workbook in Microsoft Excel. Pay special attention to the data shown on the Task_Table worksheet. Notice in row 1 how every column has a heading that describes the data. Notice that the column containing the Task
Name information is not called Task Name; it is simply called Name.
What you will need to do is to configure your own Excel workbook to look like what you see in the Excel workbook that you just exported. Then try importing your Excel workbook data using the Import Wizard, and let us know if you have follow up questions.

Well, I followed this procedure and the results are problematic. First, there is always errors on import, and no matter what's selected, the import works but with problems...
Multiple import errors of the same type, clicking Yes, No, Cancel produces the same results:

How to use custom pipeline dlls in Biztalk Projects so that they appear in the send/receive pipeline configuration after deployment?

I have a existing Biztalk application that uses custom pipelines for receiving excel files. I have the dll of that custom pipeline. Now i created another BT application that needs to use that same custom pipeline. But after i deploy the application in
Biztalk, i can't see the pipeline available in Receive pipeline configuration combo box during configuration. I have referenced the custom pipeline dll in my project before deploying, but that doesn't help. I also copied the dll in the C:\Program Files
(x86)\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010\Pipeline Components folder and C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 folder, but that doesn't make the pipelines appear during configuration too.
Can anyone give any idea on how can i use these custom pipeline dlls in project so that they appear in configuration after deployment?

If you plan on using the deployed pipeline across multiple applications in BizTalk, the BizTalk Application (using the BizTalk Server Administration Console) should have the other application [where the pipeline is deployed] as reference.
For e.g.: Custom Pipeline (myCustomPipeline) part of a BizTalk Project (dll - myCustomProject.dll) deployed under Application [Some Application] also to be used in another BizTalk Application [Some Other Applicaiton] then using BizTalk Server Administartor
right click the "Some Other Application" and select "Properties"
on the "Properties" page, left hand side, select "References"
on the right-hand side, use "Add" to add the "Some Project" as a reference.
Doing so will ensure that ALL resources (maps, schemas, orchestrations, send ports, receive locations, rules, etc.) deployed for "Some Application" are available/referensible in "Some Other Application".

Best practices on number of pipelines in a single project/app to do forging

I need couple of clarification from you regarding endeca guided search for enterprise application.
1)Say for example,I have a web application iEndecaApp which is created by imitating the jsp reference application. All the necessary presentation api's are present in WEB-INF/lib folder.
1.a) Do I need to configure anything else to run the application?
1.b) I have created the web-app in eclipse . Will I be able to run it from the any thirdparty tomcat server ? If not then where I have to put the war file to successfully run the application?
2)For the above web-app "iEndecaApp" I have created an application named as "MyEndecaApp" using deploymenttemplate. So one generic pipeline is created. I need to integrate 5 different source of data . To be precise
i)CAS data
ii)Database table data
iii)Txt file data
iv)Excel file data
v)XML data.
2.a)So what is the best practice to integrate all the data. Do I need to create 5 different pipeline (each for each data) or I have to integrate all the 5 data's in a single pipeline ?
2.b)If I create 5 different pipeline then all should reside in a single application "MyEndecaApp" or I need to create 5 difference application using deployment template ?

Point number 1 is very much possible ie running the jsp ref application from a server of your choice.I havent tried that ever but will draw some light on it once I try.
Point number 2 - You must create 5 record adapters in the same pipeline diagram and then join them with the help of joiner components. The resultant must be fed to the property mapper.
So 1 application, 1 pipeline and all 5 data sources within one application is what should be the ideal case.
And logically also since they all are related data, so must be having some joining conditions and you cant ask 5 different mdex engines to serve you a combined result.

Is this the only approach to meet this requirement or is there any other way to crack it. sharepoint techies please help me.

as you described the scenario of the event that it should happen when user upload excel to a document library. Event Receiver is your best bet. However if you would have a requirement that users can send excel files any time to a network file location and
you want to pick it, read it and create list items etc. You would write a sharepoint timer job that would run every 10 minute to check for file and if available on the network drive, perform the operation etc. so that users who send excel file does not need
to come to the sharepoint etc. You can see that you have Event Receivcer option or Timer job option OR you would write a console application to trigger the code at a scheduled time on sharepoint server etc. so you are using the event receiver in the correct
scenario.

Critical Error while saving a workbook as local spreadsheet

Hello,
We have recently upgraded from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 and users are intermittently experiencing problems when trying to save a BI workbook as a local spreadsheet file. Sometimes when they try several times eventually they are able to save it other times they are unable to. It does not seem to be memory related or related to the size of the data from the queries in the workbook.
The message they receive is: A critical program error has occured. The program will now terminate. Please refer to the trace for furthur information.
Any help would be appreciated.

Please close your SharePoint Designer application, clear/delete the cached files and folders under the following directories from your server installed SharePoint Designer, then check results again.
<user profile>\appdata\roaming\microsoft\SharePoint Designer\ProxyAssemblyCache

Workbook is not getting saved in PDF format on website directory

I have an Excel workbook, which I am trying to save in Pdf file format on website directory at azure, and after creating pdf uploading it on azure blob storage. The code is working fine on local but on web server it is not uploading pdf on storage,
Code Ex:

Hi,
Based on your description, your pdf file is saved to server side, so if you try above code on your local, you could read the file, but, if host your application to azure, you need to get the file stream first, then upload from the stream. Please set
the breakpoint at: "byte[] file = System.IO.File.ReadAllBytes(filePath);" check this file variable.

Can't Create New Excel Project Visual Studio 2013 Office Tools The Project Cannot Be Created

I am having this issue on two computers. If I try to create an Excel 2013 Workbook C# in new projects, and choose create a new workbook, it starts to open Excel, and then I get this error in VS
I have tried:
Uninstall & Reinstall of VSTO from the Visual Studio Installer
Uninstall & Reinstall of Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate, (manually removing anything with visual studio that was left over)
Manually turning on the add-on Visual Studio Tools for Office Design-Time Adapter for Excel
Installing VSTO by hand
Enabling Macros
Running VS as administrator
Uninstalling & Reinstalling Office 2013 Pro Plus OLP
I have made this change to excel:
Like I said, this problem occurs on TWO pc's. I have tried 2013 Visual Studio R1 and R2. Does anyone have any ideas?

And Running as Administrator. Recently I upgraded to the CTP of Visual Studio 2015 Ultimate and the same problem exists.

Project Server 2010 export to Excel 2007 fails

I keep getting the following error when I try to export Resource Availability to Excel. I am using Project Server 2010, Excel 2007, IE8, Windows 7. I have PS set as a intranet site with low security set. Coworkers with the same setup are
not having this issue. I have tried exporting to Excel with Excel open, Excel closed, on a hardwire network connection, on wireless network connection, on my corporate VPN and not on my corporate VPN.
Microsoft Office Excel cannot access the file "URL here" for the possible reasons:
-The file name or path does not exist.
-The file is being used by another program
-The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open worklbook.
Please provide suggestions on what to try differently to make the export work. I have tried downloaded other version of IE and have the same issue.

How to access to a "Variable" situated in a closed workbook

Considering a Name declared in a Workbook and called "myName" - this Name belong to the workbook.names collection but do not correspond to any cell or range.
I'd like to access to this name without being obiged to open the workbook where it is declared but so far all what I have tried failed... :(
- have tried ADODB but seems to be limited to named ranges
- have tried with Application.ExecuteExcel4Macro
but also seems to be working only for cells
---- Application.ExecuteExcel4Macro('C:\Path\[file.xls]Sheet1'!R1C1)
is working
---- Application.ExecuteExcel4Macro('C:\Path\file.xls'!myName)
is not working while I was expecting to :(

Please firstly check if the range name "myName" exists in the workbook file.xls, then try to add double quotation marks """ for the parameter of Application.ExecuteExcel4Macro, because it works fine for me in the following code:
