Project Server 2010: We want to create the User Profile Service but it keeps hanging when attempted from Central Administration. Any PowerShell commands to do this instead?

We want to create the User Profile service in Project Service 2010. Are there any PowerShell commands that can be used to achieve this?
Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your post.
Please check event viewer if there are some error logs?
Meanwhile, there is a similar thread has been discussed:

  • Windows Server 2012 Login Issue "The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded."

Whenever I try to login to our Exchange Server, I receive the following error:
"The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded."
The issue affects more than one user.
    Relevant Info:
    Server Version: 2012 Datacenter
    Exchange Version: 2013
    The Exchange server is virtualized.
    What I've tried:
    1) Remote Desktop from a workstation on the network
    2) Remote Desktop from Virtual Machine Manager
    3) Connect via console from Virtual Machine Manager
    4) Accessing the server via Computer Management and adding my user account to Allow Login via Remote Desktop
    5) Creating a new user account for myself by copying the account of a user who can get in
    6) Rebooting
    I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    Hi Aaron,
I would suggest you to check the event log .
Maybe this issue due to the permission of profile folder , please refer to the following link :

  • Can't Log Any Users Onto My Domain Except the Administrator Getting The Following Error "The user profile service failed the logon"

    Hi All,
I am currently completing a project for college which involves the creation of a domain, OU's, GPO's etc within a virtual environment.
I am using Windows Server 2008 Enterprise running this on VMware however after having completed and tested all my GPO's now none of my users are able to log on to the domain and keep getting the following error message "The user profile service failed
the logon" "User profile cannot be loaded".
I have tried to a lot of different options prior to posting which include:
Creating a new user account/s in case the previous user policies were corrupt the same error message is shown.
I also configured my DC to allow users to log onto the DC in case this was a network issue but the same error still exists.
My Administrator account always logs onto the DC without fail and applies all the GPO's as it should.
I have rebuilt my servers twice now at this stage and the same problems keep happening at first it was just confined to users within a single OU but now is Domain wide any suggestions on what I can do.
    Thanks,
    John

    John,
Since this is a project, you may have experimented with various settings in multiple Group Policies, so I would recommend you run the Group Policy Modelling Wizard, as it will show you all the GP settings down to a specific user on a specific computer, plus
tell you which Group Policy sets and which settings, and thereby perhaps find where the problem occurs.

    it applies. Thanks!

  • Initiall SharePoint Server 2013 setup -- unable to manage new User Profile Service Application

During initial farm setup, creating an initial User Profile Service Application works fine.  However, once it's created, I cannot 'manage' it through the Manage Service Applications page in central
    admin.
I get a generic error (Sorry, something went wrong / unexpected error) with a correlation ID that doesn't seem to match any ULS log entries. (Yes, I merged logs from all machines in the farm.)
A Windows event log entry says:
A failure was reported when trying to invoke a service application: Endpoint Failure
Also frequent errors in ULS logs:  (see below)
    UserProfileApplicationNotAvailableException
User Profile Application      Proxy failed to retrieve partitions from User Profile Application: Micro…
    SPDistributedCache DataCacheException
I did notice that the file 'ProfileService.svc does not exist in SharePoint's web services app at the URL you see in the error. (below)
I also found it interesting that the event log error shows 1 active endpoint and 3 failed endpoints.  I have 2 WFEs and 2 app servers.  But I'm only trying to get the user profile service app running on the application
servers.  I have deleted and recreated this service app several times under various names (deleted/recreated its app pool as well) and wonder if these other failed endpoints could be orphans from previous instances...
Any thoughts on how I might successfully create this service application?  I've already been Binging my head against a wall long enough that I would have been better off reinstalling the entire farm...  I may still
    do that.
FYI, my farm came from a slipstreamed SP1 install package, and received the July CU after several other things were already configured, including the already-failed UP service application.

  • How do I prevent "The user profile service service failed the log on" error messages?

I work for an organization with approximately 60 staff members across ~80 Windows 7 Professional PCs. Users log in with Active Directory accounts.
Approximately once per month, a random user will get an error message while attempting to log into their machine that says "The user profile service service failed the log on."  The solution to resolve this issue is here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215?ppud=4&wa=wsignin1.0.
The problem is that I want to PREVENT this issue from happening, as it is incredibly inconvenient for the user. I had one staff member board a 5-hour plane trip expecting to do work, and once she got in the air she logged in and
received the error message and was unable to use her computer for the trip. I've had others locked out of their computer with deadlines to get things done, while I am at home off the clock. Editing the registry is not an easy fix, and so it's not something
I can just post instructions for in a knowledgebase article.
Does anyone know how to prevent this issue from occurring? I believe that it has something to do with a network-based startup script, or a service trying to connect to our file server, or the computer trying to connect to our ad server. All of these
are blocked by firewalls (unless the user is off-site), and I suspect that the services may be timing out, causing the user profile service service failed the logon error message, but I can't seem to eliminate it, after nearly a year of trying.
90% of the time this problem occurs when the user is off-site, but it has happened while the user is in the office too. Once the user gets this error message, the only way to resolve the problem is to log into their computer as a localadministrator account
and perform the method #1 fix in the knowledgebase article.
    Thanks

Have you checked the logged files in event viewer around the time when problem occurred?
Is there any suspicious events like error or warning related to this issue.

  • The User Profile Service service failed to Login user Profile error in Windows 7 Home Premium

    Hi,
I recently purchased a new Dell Inspirion 1564 Laptop which had Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installed.
The hardware configuration is i5 core Processor, 4GB Ram , 320GB HDD and 512MB Graphics card.
Today morning, I couldn't login as the system returned the following error after I entered the password.
"The User Profile Service service failed to login.
    User Profile cannot be loaded"
I couldn't login at all as i had not created any other user account, even the face recognition didn't work.
I had to restore my pc to the previous state. I believe this happened after the installation of Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - March 2010 (KB890830) update, not immeditately though as i used the system few times after the installation of this update.
Is this a bug? I cant imagine if this happens if I am about to give a presentation, its going to be disastrous!
    Any help is appreciated
    Avinash

I'm getting the same issue - I'm the IT Manager at a school where every student has a laptop (fujitsu tablet T4410). This occurs to at least one new student every day. I have been unable to re-create the issue on demand, although I suspect it occurs when a temporary user profile gets created after the logon process takes too long (due to some disk activity, possibly related to windows updates or some thing). When we were creating student accounts on the machines, this would occur if we attempted to log in the newly created account before the computer had 'settled down' - it seems that there is a logon timeout, after which something stops working. If the new user's first logon happened too soon after booting, the profile would be corrupted. But this doesn't quite explain why it occurs seemingly randomly now.
My current solution is to boot into safe mode, back up the user's files, delete the account, create it again (the other suggested solutions on the internet did not work)
If you're desperate, you can log in while in safe mode, and use that to create a new account.
In any case, this is proving a very bad experience of Windows 7 for my students, and I hope to see a more useful fix for this soon.

  • The user profile service: Service failed the log on. User profile can not be loaded.

I am running a Windows Server 2008 R2 domain. with 2 domain controllers.
Every new account created in active directory does not seem to work. Even if the account it copied from one that does still work, it still gives the same error when logging in on a network computer (windows 7). "The user profile service: Service failed
the log on. User profile can not be loaded."
I have looked at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215, which unfortunately does not help. Especially since the SID is not there because the user has not managed to log on yet.
    The
"Do not logon users with temporary profiles" Group Policy setting is not configured.
And I have tried force replication too.
I have exhausted all my knowledge.

It might be that the default user profile is corrupted. See that: https://helgeklein.com/blog/2013/09/error-message-explained-user-profile-service-failed-logon/

  • The User Profile Service service failed the logon. the user profile cannot be loaded

I have been runnung Vista home premium with no problems for some time. Now I want to add a second user. Each time I create a new user and then try to logon as the new user, I get this message:
The User Profile Service service failed the logon. the user profile cannot be loaded.
Other answers I have found relate to corrupted administrator accounts but that is not the problem I have.
What can I do to enable the use of other users on this computer?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Microsoft TechNet Forum.
First of all, for further troubleshooting, may I ask some questions:
    1.     How did you create a new user? Is it a account belonged to administrator group or standard user group?
    2.     Does this issue occur with the current user? Do you receive any error code?
Based on my research, you can visit the following Microsoft KB on User Profile Service (ProfSvc) issue.

  • The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User Profile cannot be loaded. (while using Vista)

Hello - I'm receiving the error above when trying to logon on to my computer.  I've tried some of the fixes on this site and others and none of them seem to work b/c I get to a certain point and I don't have files.  Examples are below:
1).  I don't have another account with administrator priv (or if I do, I don't know how to get there).
2). Youtube video offers a fix by making registry edits, but with Windows 7 and once he gets to Windows NT file, current version, profile list  - I don't have any of those options.
3). Another fix also suggests doing a reg edit, but I don't have the S-1-5 files with the really long numbers - I only have S-1-5 -18 and S-1-5-19.
Any suggestions on fixes within in Vista would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
If you want to modify the registry, you must have administrator privilege.
Since no other administrator account in your computer, you may have to active the built-in administrator account.
For detail steps, please refer to the similar thread.

  • The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in. WinCE - RDS 2012R2.

    Hi,
We have a lot of HP thin clients with WinCE. I read about security and license issues which prevent to connect old OS/RDP clients to RDS 2012R2. I fixed them all. However we got a random problem from time to time: users faced with error like "The User
Profile Service service failed the sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded." If user reconnects immediately, he can got the error again or can log-in normally. I noted that if screen blinks while remote profile loading, user got this error.
    Two scenarios:
    1. Click on RDP shortcut on thin client -> enter credentials -> profile loading -> %GREAT RANDOM% -> normal log-in.
    2. Click on RDP shortcut on thin client -> enter credentials -> profile loading -> %GREAT RANDOM% -> screen blinking -> error.
    Actions if error:
    1. Reconnect -> Error -> Reconnect -> Error -> Reconnect -> OK.
    2. If reconnect doesn't help, user has to reboot thin client and try again.
I checked that it's not an issue of the special server. I also checked that there are no bad profiles on servers or bad registry entries. User can keep trying to connect and finally enter to it's session on THIS TS server (I tried to close entrance to all
servers excluding one and tested). Usual PCs (win7/win8) don't have any problems to log-in.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you!

    Hi Amy,
Thank you for your answer! I disabled “Do
not log users on with temporary profiles” and also disabled anti-virus. Nothing changed. :( Users
    still get that error.
    Thank you!

  • Windows 8 "The user Profile Service service failed the sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded."

    Hello All,
OK here is what i'm trying to figure out. First off i am new to my company and still trying to learn the in and outs but have already been thrown into the lions cage by myself. I inherited a network that is run on Windows Server 2008 R2. The domain consists
of XP,Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines. Here is the issue i am facing.
Every once in a while (usually after a few hours of inactivity) when a user goes to log into the machine they receive an error stating  "The user Profile Service service failed the sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded.". However
this only happens to the windows 8 machines and like i mentioned earlier it usually happens after a brief inactivity period. Now restarting the machine always works(100% of the time) but this super annoying. I have also completely restarted the server just
to find out the problem resurfaced later that day.
Any idea on how to fix this issue? Like i mentioned this only happens to the Windows 8 machines. Is there something i should do on my server to prevent this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you

  • "Please Wait For The User Profile Service" message when logging on to TS 2008

I have a Windows 2008 AD Domain with 2 Windows 2008 Terminal Servers.  Both are configured identically.  I have the TS Roaming profiles stored on a 3rd server and a GPO pointing all users to the roaming profiles.  On one of the servers everything works perfectly.  On the second server the users, after they input their credentials, get the following message "Please Wait For The User Profile Service".  The message can stay there for up to 3 minutes, then they are logged innormall with the correct profile.  This problem does not occur on log off.  Any help would be appreciated

99% of the times I had this problem it was caused by either DNS issues or network bindings.
Are your servers multihomed? In other words: do you have multiple network cards? If so, make sure your "production" card is on top in the network connections -> advanced settings -> adapters and bindings.
You could also enable user env logging (search microsoft how to do that)

  • The User Profile Service failed the logon

    Hi
Over the last few weeks I have had literally 100's of my customers reporting this problem
The usual "The User Profile Service failed the logon" message comes up when they try to login
I have been fixing each time by changing the profilelist registry entries as per
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215
But it keeps happening, some customers are then okay for a week or two and it then happens again
Has anyone else been seeing a lot of this issue? and if so any ideas what is causing it
All the computers have been checked for viruses and have valid security software loaded, so don't think virus related, but is getting annoying now and rightly so some of my customers are getting fed up having to pay to get it fixed each time
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
It seems this is related to your environment, let’s test if we can eliminate this issue by uninstalling the most common software on few test machines.
