Projector can't open a projector

Hi all, I have a projector that I'm using as a menu, when I
click buttons on the projector I want to open other projectors and
close this menu projector. What is the best way to accomplish this?
I tried the following statements before but they only worked while
playing the menu movie in director itself not when a projector was
created:
code:
onmouseUp
go to movie the moviePath & "MovieToOpen"
end
I also tried:
onmouseUp
go frame ("Start") of movie ("MovieToOpen")
end
Thanks in advance. Any help will be appreciated.

Once you compile the projector, it is no longer a Director
movie (as far
as another Director movie can tell). It is just an exe. You
can open
an exe with the open command.
open the moviePath&"movieToOpen.exe"
If you want to go to a specific frame, you would have to NOT
make a
projector out of it. Either leave it as a dir (bad for
security
reasons), or publish it as a dcr. You could also (best idea
from a
security standpoint) protect it using Xtras, Update Movies.
MAKE SURE
YOU BACK YOUR FILE UP BEFORE DOING THAT!!
Anyway, if it is a dcr or a protected dxr, then you can use
the code you
were using to go to the movie or go to the frame you want in
that movie.

  • Can't open a projector in mac, only in win.

Hello, using DIrector MX 2004, win platform. I made a movie
that contains only one .dir file, it's a slideshow, so i used only
some behaviours for the buttons, some music and two buttons that
allow to send an e-mail or visit my site.
The problem is that i create the projector (for win, mac and
mac classic), and everything works ok in windows. But i can't open
the .osx or .classic in mac (it says can't find the program to open
it). Also, i find strange that when i publish director creates ok
.exe, but for mac it creates some zipped files (say "my
movie.osx.hqx", the same for classic), so i tried to unzip those
files before burning my cd-rom. I put some xtras in the cd, but i
    suspect it's not he problem.
Anyway, do i have to put in the cd-rom the .dxr file of the
movie or is it unnecessary? (i tried both ways, i can't yet
understand why i have to put that file in my cd, as in windows
    everything goes ok.
    Thanks for all.

You *cannot* do this on a PC. The reason the file is
    published to a
compressed format is so that it can be safely extracted on a
    Mac. If you
extract on a Windows machine the resource forks are destroyed
    and it
won't then work on a Mac.
You *must* extract on a Mac and should therefore burn CDs
    there too.

  • Why I can't use a projector with rented movies from ITunes

I rented a movie from ITunes, I downloaded to my Ipad and I tried to watch it in my projector, the communication with the projector is good, but when the movie start my IPad says that the display that I am using is not a supported display for protected material, but with Netflix it works perfectly. Can someone help me out here?

By default Apple does not allow you to project or put any rented material on "external" devices i.e screens or projectors
You may be better off contacting your local Apple Store

  • Question: What makes of projectors can be connected to MacBook

Question: What makes of projectors can be connected to MacBook, also what kind of cable do I need?

    Hi,
Modbus is restricted to addressing 247 devices on one data link, which limits the number of field devices that may be connected to a master station.
However, if you want to increase the number of slaves, you may use MODBUS/TCP.
Here is a link that might help you:
    http://modbus.control.com/thread/1026247380.
The Schneider electric 174CEV30010 Modbus to Ethernet bridge is capable of addressing Modbus slaves from 1 to 247.
The actual number of devices which can be physically connected depends on the medium used and not on the fact it is Modbus.
    Some examples:
RS232 is a 2 device point to point connection when using copper, however when using fiber (or other modems) it is possible to connect up to the maximum of 247 devices.
RS485 is multi-drop and supports 32 devices on a single network. When a repeater is used, on copper wire, the number of devices can usually be increased to 64.
    Hope this helps.

Can't connect external projector to MacBook Pro running Windows7. Any suggestions?

Did you try a cable? The point is you did not provide any information about: what projector, how you are trying to connect, what happens when you try, error messages if any, does an external monitor work, what computer you have, what OS, etc.

  • Can i use a Projector with iPad or iPad2?

Can I use a projector in the classroom with an iPad or iPad2?

With the iPad2, yes (except for a few apps where that ability was taken out - they seem to mostly be apps for movies/tv stations). With the iPad, not well - only a few apps have "video out' enabled on them.
Assuming you have  VGA connector, you will need to purchase the iPad VGA adapter.

  • Director PowerPC processors (PPC ) can't open the application because it is "not supported on this a

I created a projector in Adobe Director 11.5 for the Mac.
For some reason PowerPC processors (PPC ) can't open it because they received a message saying the application is "not supported on this architecture."
And idea if there is a way to make projectors compatible for the Mac PPC processors?
    Thanks,

Check your product version by typing "put the productVersion" into the message panel - if you don't get the response "11.5.9" then update the to latest patch by selecting the Update option from Director's Help menu. (I suspect you already are on 11.5.9, though, otherwise you wouldn't get this problem).
Next, go to the Publish Settings page, and under the projector tab you will notice an option to create the Mac projector as either a "Universal Binary" or an "Intel Binary"
Universal Binary will run natively on PPC Macs, and will run under Rosetta on Intel Macs running up-to-and-including OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
Intel Binary will run on all Intel Macs running OSX 10.5 and upwards.
Rosetta is a virtualisation layer built into OSX versions up to 10.6; It allows programs written for PPC to run on Intel Macs. Rosetta was dropped from OSX 10.7 (Lion), so a UB projector won't work on Lion.
    Hope that helps

When opening Powerpoint, the file opens outside of the screen, and I cannot use it, nor can I open a new ppt. How do I rectify this?

Usually the Window menu allows you to adjust window placement in Microsoft Office products.
If not, connect an external display or projector and change the resolution to the maximum.
Save the document with the window residing on the main screen with the Dock.
That will force it to open on the main screen in the future.

  • Can not open, view inbox in godaddy web mail

I have been using godaddy webmail for awhile - one day I tried to view my emails and I could not. I can't open them or reply to them or even highlight "inbox". I have avg - they disabled the firewall and viris protection but the problem prosisted. I called godaddy, the ran a check of their system and said it's working properly and it was a problem with my browser. I am able to compose and send emails if I type in a address.

That worked fine in Firefox after Comcast instituted that Xfinity interface last spring, then they fixed something else and broke that for some Firefox users. Connect Lite still works fine.
Using IE, once you're in the full email page open Preferences -> General in the Xfinity menu header and select Xfinity Connect Lite. Then try it in Firefox.
Or, click on the first new email on the preview page, and when you're done with it click on the Inbox link in the Nav Menu in the left column to get your complete Inbox.

No, only regular static GIF images are supported. The desktop version of Photoshop does support this however.

  • Pages downloaded, but I still can't open iCloud pages from iPad. Says that I need a new version of Pages on my Mac

For my Mac Pro, after I downloaded the new Mavericks OS, I downloaded the new pages. However, I still can't open iCloud pages from iPad. Says that I need a new version of Pages on my Mac.
    Please help.

It appears that you are launching the old version, probably using an icon in your Dock. That icon is an alias & is not updated. You will need to go to your Applications folder & find the new Pages 5 icon & double-click it. Once it is launched, you can right-click on the icon & choose Options > keep in Dock from the contextual menu.

  • Vi error on nfs mount; E212: Can't open file for writing

    Hi all,
I've setup a umask of 0 for testing on both NFS client (Centos 5.2) and NFS server (OSX 10.5.5 server).
I can create files as one user and edit/save out as another user w/o issue when directly logged into the server via ARD.
    However, when I attempt the same from an NFS mount on a client machine, even as root I get the following error using vi;
"file" E212: Can't open file for writing
    Looking at the system.log file on the server, I see;
    kernel[0]: add_fsevent: no name hard-link! dropping the event. (event 2 vp == 0xa5db510 (-UNKNOWN-FILE)).
This baffles me. My umask is 0 meaning files I create and attempt to edit as other users are 777, but I cannot save out edits unless I do a wq! in vi. At that point, the owner of the file changes to whomever did the vi.
This isn't just a vi issue as it happens using any editor, but I like to use vi.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Hey, beer is on me!

    Hi all,
    Thanks for the replies
I've narrowed it down to a Centos client issue.
Everything works fine using other Linux based OS's as clients.
Since we have such a huge investment in Centos, I must figure out a workaround. Apple support wasn't much help as usual however they were very nice.
There usual response is "its unsupported".
If Apple really wants to play in the enterprise of business space, they really need to change there philosophy. I mean telling me that I shouldn't mount home directories via NFS is completely rediculus.
What am I supposed to use then, Samba of AFP? No, I don't think so. No offense to Microsoft but why would I use a Windows based file sharing protocol to mount network shares in a Nix env???
