The description of the VGA adopter includes:
Use the Apple VGA Adapter to mirror whatever’s on your iPad or iPhone 4S screen — apps, presentations, websites, and more — on your VGA-equipped TV, display, projector, or other compatible display in up to 1080p HD. Video mirroring is supported on iPad 2 or later and iPhone 4S.

  • Trouble Using Apple TV for Presentations with an iPad

I'm trying to use an apple tv for presentations in an auditorium (through a projector) with my iPad through airplay. When I mirror the iPad (in landscape mode) and start a keynote presentation, the picture is way off center and does not fill the screen. Any suggestions?

Thanks Winston, I've used it before with my TV and it worked well there (although it never fully filled the screen).
I'm sure it's just a matter of getting it to talk to the projector and get synced up. I was thinking about trying to set the projector to display in 720p with a 60 hz refresh rate to match what the Apple TV is putting. What I really want to do here is fill the screen, do you have suggestions as far as settings to match the iPad. The Apple TV and it's interface fills the whole screen but when I use the iPad, that's when it's off center and much smaller.

  • Can I use a projector with my ipad2

Is it possible to use a projector with the ipad 2, my preference is for a HD projector

If you plan to play back protected iTunes store movies too, go for the HDMI adapter. It also has a socket for recharging while connected. Both are opposed to what the (otherwise, equally good-quality) VGA adapter does.

  • Is it possible to show a presentation from the original iPad via wireless on an older projector with no HDMI input?

is it possible to show a presentation from the original iPad via wireless on an older projector with no HDMI input? If so, what equipment is needed?

The ipad not support wireless projector yet.
The workaround is you are using computer that connected wirelessly [needs 2 wireless adapter] / via cable to projector and connected also to the wireless router.
You are controlling the computer via wireless connected to the router using remote desktop app like splashtop, teamviewer, logmein, vnc, etc. You must set the remote desktop port and app at the computer too as ipad app support.

  • I want to get a pico projector for my iPad 3 but will it work with all apps?

Hi everyone, I wish to purchase a pico projector for my iPad 3 but I need to know if it will work with third-party apps which plays all kind of video file format
and not only with the native Video. Anyone has any experience with this? The app I usually use to play my video files is Good Player.

Take a look at HeadRoom (headphone.com). It's a fabulous resource for all types of headphones, with great guides and useful reviews.

  • Can i use a Projector with iPad or iPad2?

Can I use a projector in the classroom with an iPad or iPad2?

With the iPad2, yes (except for a few apps where that ability was taken out - they seem to mostly be apps for movies/tv stations). With the iPad, not well - only a few apps have "video out' enabled on them.
Assuming you have  VGA connector, you will need to purchase the iPad VGA adapter.

  • How to connect Apple TV to Projector with no HDMI

I have a projector with S-video, rca, and vga connections but no HDMI.  I would like to get an apple tv and use airplay with my ipad 2.  Are there hdmi to rca or vga converters that will work well with Apple TV.  I've searched different things but it's just confusing me.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
There are hardware converters that will convert HDMI to various other types of output, however there are some issues with doing so that you should be aware of.
    HDCP
HDCP compliant converters will not allow you to watch HDCP protected content such as that from the iTunes Store. Non compliant converters exist but we cannot discuss them under the Terms of Use for these communities.
    Resolution and aspect ratio
I'm not aware of any converters that will scale the output from the Apple TV, any TV or projectoe which is used will need to be widescreen and support resolutions of 720p or 480p.

  • How do you hook up an apple tv to a VGA projector with sound?

    Hello,
I'm a teacher who is really excited to use IOS5 with my iPad and apple tv. I want to be able to stream my keynote presentations while walking around the room. The problem is that the apple tv only has a HDMI outport and I have a projector that only recieves VGA.
Does anyone know a good adapter/converter that will also allow an audio out (I put video into my keynotes).
A possible second option would be utilizing the Optical audio out and transfering that to analog audio.
I have spent way to much time trying to get around this and have come to you for help... Please help! :)

  • Can you control a MacBook Air with an iPad?

First off I wasn't sure where to post this so sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I teach in a small rural high school that has decided to implement 1-to-1 technology this school year.  All students will be issued an iPad (3rd Gen), and all teachers have been issued an iPad (3rd Gen) along with a MacBook Air (I'm assuming it is whatever generation is currently new).
So here is my conundrum.  Our school does not provide all teachers with a projector to use for presentations and such.  This means that I have to lug around my personal projector if I will need it in class that day.  What I am trying to figure out is if there is a way to control my MacBook with my iPad, while the MacBook is connected to my projector?  Ultimately I would like to be able to walk around my room with my iPad in hand with access to my MacBook and projector set up to control presentations, show things from the internet, or whatever else comes up.
I am assuming there is some way to do this, but I really am not sure where to look since I am still fairly new with the iPad.  I've looked at apps like iTap VNC, but I am unsure if this is what I am looking for or if there is something else to consider.  Any expensive programs (over $20) or equipment is out of the question since I have to pay for it myself and will not be reimbursed.  I am unsure if this matters either, but the school is not providing us with any programs such as Keynote or other presentation programs.  I am currently using Open Office on my MacBook.
I should probably also add that I have seen questions about using the iPad with a MacBook Pro.  I was just unsure if similar solutions would work with this scenario.
Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

You need a remote app. Look at Team Viewer and Splashtop Remote. Both apps will allow you to control the computer from the iPad. I use Team Viewer a little now and then and you do have to get the hang of the movements and such, but both of the apps are for remote access of your computer.

  • Using Key Note with an IPad 2

Can I show a keynote presentation through a projector using an IPad 2?

Yup, you just need a Apple Digital AV Adapter or VGA Adapter.
You can get more details from the Keynote Help site.
If you want to show your presentation on a larger screen, you can connect your mobile device to a computer display or a projector, or you can use AirPlay with Apple TV to show your presentation on your TV. When connected to an external display, the presentation plays on the connected screen, and the mobile device shows the presenter display, which can include presenter notes, a clock or timer, and a preview of the next slide. To learn about video adapter cables for connecting your mobile device to an external display, see the relevant information in your device’s User Guide (in Safari bookmarks on your device, tap the User Guide link, and then search for “video cable”).
And, you can get more info about adapters here -> iOS: About Apple AV Adapter compatibility

  • Can I use an in focus lp70 with the iPad

I am trying to connect an in focus lp70+ projector to an iPad with the apple via adapter but get no picture. Do I need special software or a tv adapter?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you have an iPad 1, are you using an app that supports video out? Only a few apps do; check with the developer of the app you want to project for information.
    Regards.

  • Is it possible to connect an iPad to a SmartBoard and interact with the iPad on the SmartBoard, like you do on a computer with the Smart-software Notebook on it?

Is it possible to connect an iPad to a SmartBoard and interact with the iPad on the SmartBoard, like you do on a computer with the Smart-software Notebook on it?

You can purchase an adapter from apple that uses the monitor cable from the projector, its the same one that is probably connecting either your laptop or school workstation. On the projector control you might need to refresh the source.

  • Need help with mirroring iPad Air in classroom

Not sure in the right community, so excuse me and redirect if needed.
I recently got an iPad Air and the lightning VGA adapter to connect my iPad to the projection system in my classroom. It will project the iPad screen on my computer monitor, but will not project onto the large screen through my projector. I was able to do this with my iPad 2 and the 30 pin VGA adapter, which would mirror onto both the computer screen and the big screen using my VGA splitter box. I use my iPad all the time to show students info from apps. Any ideas?
Thanks! Jen Nicholson, K-5 science lab teacher

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
