Projects and OTA integration

Currently, I can tie an event in OTA to a project in PA in the Events form. However, this link is only that - there is no interface of information between the 2 modules. Does anyone know of any planned future releases to better integrate the 2? Alternatively, do you know where I can find Projects' future release notes?

Lot's of red underlines because JDev cannot find the source files. In 10, I could just list my root directory for the project and JDev could find the Java source files. In 11 I have to go into project properties and add the src and testsrc directories (under my product directory) explicitly. After that everything works (sort of). To see the problems create a directory, say myProduct. In that directory place a bunch of xml documents (like your build.xml). Under that directory create two directories: src and testsrc. Put some java files in both directories . Make sure the tests in testsrc reference the application code in src. Now create a project and point it to the myProduct directory. Now try to open a java source with <CTRL> -. The java source is listed, but when you select it JDev says it isn't there. Now open the java test class in the editor by navigating to it through the open dialog. References to the myProduct/src tree will be underlined in red.

SQL Server 2008 R2: which version of Visual Studio do I need to keep database projects and SSIS projects in the same solution

I need to build a solution containing a database project and an integration services project for SQL Server 2008R2. Apparently, the subset of Visual Studio tools that comes with SQL Server 2008R2 does not include database projects and does not have
Team Foundation Server support. Because of those limitations, I am trying to determine which version of Visual Studio will allow me to:
1. Build a single solution that includes both a database project and an Integration Services project
2. For the database project, be able to import a database schema from an existing SQL Server 2008 R2 database, do schema compares and update the project from the database and vice versa
3. For the Integration Services project, be able to deploy the packages to SQL Server Integration Services on SQL Server 2008 R2 (that is, to the msdb database).
4. Use Team Foundation Server for source control of the whole solution, including both project types.

To build a solution containing a database project and an integration services project for SQL Server 2008 R2 and use Team Foundation Server for source control.
You can choose to install Visual Studio 2008.
And as you want to utilize Schema compare and/or Data compare functionalities in Visual Studio, you will need to install the
Visual Studio Team System 2008 Database Edition or Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Suite.

Test/Trial project on MDM and XI integration.

Test/Trial project on MDM and XI integration.
I want to try out a test case scenario where in i would be importing and exporting data to XI (Using XML files i guess)
I am a newbie in MDM integration.
Please help me out with my trial project.
What i already have:
I have MDM system and repository on which i have been learning basic MDM designing a (test)repository of my own.
What information i need:
-What all system requirements (XI system configuration and all) are needed to established. (What all should i be asking the XI and the system admin guys to be able to get the platform ready for me.*

SInce you want to try a test scenario including MDM and XI, I would suggest you to try
ECC -> XI->MDM scenario
Wherein you can take the data from ECC in the form of IDOCs and convert them into XML.
You can then import the XML into an MDM repository. MDM repository can be a Customer, Material, Vendor etc repository. Hence extract the similar data from ECC.
Kindly follow the steps below:
1) Firstly you will have to extrcat the look-up table data from R3 using MDMGX transaction-

SQL Server and TFS integration: can't see TFS SQL Server project

From SQL Server Management Studio 2012 FILE-> OPEN FROM SOURCE CONTROL -> SQL Server doesn't recognize the SQL Server Project in TFS I specify; I have carefully checked that the project files are in the path specified. I have placed the solution/project
additionally into the VS Studio 2012 path -> whatever path I point to, SQL Server is unable to open the project and I cannot get to the checked in SQL source. Thank you for your help :)

The problem is that SSMS doesn't see existing SQL server projects that are checked into TFS by others; I cannot get my SSMS instance to connect to TFS and see the existing projects and check them out. The tutorial is no help.

According to your description, you could not add the project or solution to source control in SQL Server Management Studio 2012. I recommend you if you install and configure the Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider successfully. And check if you can launch
the client (File >> Source Control >> Launch Team Foundation server MSSCCI Provider). If yes, I recommend you install
the latest Cumulative Update of SQL Server 2012 , which can be downloaded from Microsoft website.
In addition, if the error still exists, I recommend you post more details about error log for analysis. When you connect to TFS server, we need to verify if you supply the right information and sign-in credentials for your Team Foundation Server .

PP is not a major player in PS as far as integration is concerned. It is through Material Management that Production Planning is informed of Production Orders using special settings in the Material Master.
One another area, the PP and PM modules share Work Centers with Project System.
The Work Center is needed for Capacity Planning and Planning costs. If we integrate this Work Center with HR module, we will be able to select only the people who have been assigned to the Work Center. We can specify the amount of work the individual will contribute. This forms the basis for capacity planning.

After creating the project next step is u want to do cost, Revenue & Budget Planning for the project
in the t-codes CJ42, CJ30 & CJ40 respectively. Next step is creating the Sale order in va01 T-code.
But I have internal project scenario, example: Overhauling of DG set. Assigned work enter & Workforce & also material to network. So shall I do costing? As explained! Is it necessary to create of Sales Order?
CMP2 - Assign workforce to activities
CAT2 - Transfer actual time to CATS. In CAT2 we have record the actual timing correct for an activity, on day basis & with personal number.
MD51 - Run Project MRP to create Planned orders.
MD04, ME21N, MIGO - Convert planned orders to purchase requisitions and P.O, and goods receipt.
MB1A - once the goods are brought is project stock; the same needs to be consumed by mb1a -281 Q on the project.
CJ20n - Attach milestones as per the payment terms.
VA02 - Copy billing plan to sales order.
VF01 - Billing
CJ20n - Project tech complete and closure.

Upgrading a project from Weblogic Integration 8.1.3 to Weblogic Integration

Can anyone offer any advice to assist me in upgrading a project from Weblogic Integration 8.1.3 to Weblogic Integration 9.2.1?
Here are some nuances of the project:
* The JNDI, JDBC, & JMS server resources are secured; access is controlled by Deployment Descriptor run-as/security-role/... tags and custom CSPs
* The application is currently build for deployment using wlwBuild ant task (class in workshop.core.WlwBuildTask which is located in the 8.1.3 {weblogic.home}/workshop/wlw-ide.jar - so far I can't find this class/task in my 9.2.1 install)
* The following are the application characteristics (and utilized WLI features): multiple web apps, EJBs, JMS, Page flow/netUI, web services, WLI controls (process, java, transformation), XMLBeans
* One of the project goals is to not make any functional changes and modify as little code as necessary (the only expected justification for a modification is a) fallout out from the JVM 1.5 upgrade or b) something is no longer available in WLI 9.2)
I know there is a edocs page with a tutorial for upgrading from 8.1.4 or 8.1.5 to 9.2, but I am interested in knowing if anyone has insight on upgrading directly from 8.1.3?

just as a followup to my original message.. regarding the 8.1.4 install log that had all the warnings with the msi it expected and the different one it found... at the bottom of the log..this is what I got;

What version are you on of EBS? My comments will apply to EBS 11i, though probably pretty much the same for EBS.

Oracle Payables Integration--Expense Reports

reports, maintain and track payments of them, and transfer the accounting transactions
to Oracle General Ledger.
The above was copied in from the Oracle Project Fundamentals Guide. The Oracle Project Costing User Guide and Oracle Payables User Guide also cover the integration between AP and PA. As a general rule, the flow is from Payables into Project Costing, though if you get into expense reports there can be some flow going from Projects to Payables.
Not sure what you are looking for in regards to Procure to Pay cycle. You may have to be more specific in exactly what you are looking for here. Most of the procure to pay reporting is going to be done out of purchasing and payables, in my mind. Project Accounting really does not do any kind of payables reporting - just project costing and project billing reporting. Now project costs would include invoice costs, among the various costing sources, but the amount of detail in the project cost distribution detail history for payables information is minimal, in my opinion. Others may disagree with that statement.

please check the cFolders configuration guide (for release 4.0, the guide is also attached in note 973764), chapter u2018cFolders Back-End Integrationu2019 or the Online Help in the SAP Help Portal under http://help.sap.com/ > SAP ERP > SAP cProject Suite > Project and Portfolio Management XX > Design Collaboration with cFolders > cFolders Functions > cFolders Back-End Integration.
For example, you can use the back-end integration for cFolders to exchange DMS documents. In the DMS system (or so-called back-end system), use transaction CFE02 to export DMS documents to cFolders and CFI01 to import documents from cFolders into DMS.
Please read the above documentations to see the system and installation requirements.
Besides creating a RFC destination in transaction sm59, you need to maintain the backend system using transaction CFC01 in the DMS system. At least one cFolders system must be defined in the customizing before backend integration can be used.
In order to allow the user to create new documents in cFolders, he/she needs write and create authorization in the relevant folder.

LDAP and SAP integration

As a part of a project requirement, we are trying to integrate Solution manager with LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol).
Using the directory service, we are trying to synchronize the CUA (Central user administration within Solution manager) with Active directory of LDAP so that we can maintain the User data centrally from a single point in LDAP.
Problem description:
Currently, Client has implemented the LDAP and CUA integration and when a new user is added in LDAP, it is automatically getting copied in all SAP systems and at real time, when the useru2019s u201CLASTNAMEu201D field is updated in LDAP, it is automatically getting synchronized in all SAP systems.
But, If any attribute other than u201CLASTNAMEu201D is changed (i.e. The expiry /validity date of the User in LDAP, GLTGB in SAP), then the field value is not getting synchronized in the SAP Central User Adm.
Our Findings:
We have checked the configurations and imported mappings in SAP Solution Manager and everything looks fine. We have debugged the standard program RSLDAPSYNC_USER extensively and found out that an RFC call to function module LDAPRFC_SEARCH is not returning the expected values.

OES and WebCenter Integration And PEP API Issues

Hi All,
Currently we want to develop a WebCenter app which will check Authentication Policy in Oracle Entitlement Server using PEP API.
We encountered some issues, and have following questions:
1. According to PEP sample API, seems the PEP client application could only connect to the OES which is deployed on the same container context (same WLS domain).
Is that possible for our PEP client application to connect to OES which is deployed on a different WLS domain or even remote WLS?
2. Currently we deployed our WebCenter Spaces and OES on different WLS domains, is this a common pattern for WebCenter and OES integration?
We got following error while starting up OES, after we try deploying OES 11.1.1.5.0 and WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.6.0 together on a WLS (10.3.5) domain.

Finally I found the error I got was because of the wrong version of JDeveloper and WebCenter extension.
Portal apps which created by JDev 11.1.1.6.0 are not able to run on WebCenter 11.1.1.1.5, while the ones created by JDev 11.1.1.1.5 with WC extension 11.1.1.4.0.120306 work.
Looks like it's not a good idea to mix FMW products of different version in a single project.

Project Sales Order Integration

Hi,
I have a question on Oracle Project and Sales Order integration.
In the sales order form, there is a place to enter project and task information. What is the significance and how can we bring this information into Project itself?

1) Shipping functionality is supported for Sale Order, for Project Contracts and for Project Management (Deliverables). If you need to track shipping for a project, you will need to enable Project Manufacturing, no mater which of above three modules is implemented.
By the way, shipping integration for all those modules support the outbound deliverables, meanning items you need to ship from your own inventory facility to a customer or other third party. You mentioned a case for tracking items shipped from a third party vendor. You may need to look at the purchasing side and not the sale order for that.
2) If you implement Project Manufacturing, there is a process caleed Cost Collector, which interface the inventory and WIP transactions into PA Interface Table. From there you have to run the PRC: Transaction Import process to bring into Oracle Projects the expenditure Items.
3) I can explain the accounting, but I'm not sure which scenarios you will be implementing, and which module are you going to define the accounting. Please be more specific, and detail the release number your are implementing.

Task dependencies and scheduling in Oracle projects and project management

Am I correct in the belief that Oracle projects/project management does not have the ability to create, manage and track dependencies between tasks in a project ? And to achieve that micro level of planning I need to use something like Microsoft Project Integration ?

Project integration is the link between Oracle Projects and MS Projects.
If you want to define dependencies between tasks, MS Project is best bet
for you.
