Properties file problem

Question

We have stored the properties file in a unix server and here is the path of the file:
/ac/web/abc.xyz.com/props/
I am trying to access the file something like this:
public PropertiesServiceImpl() throws FileNotFoundException,IOException {
          if(LOG.isDebugEnabled()){
               LOG.debug("Retrieving Property File");

          Properties p = new Properties();
          try{
               String path = System.getProperty("propDir");
               String strFileName = path + "abc.properties";

               // Load the file stream into property object

          }catch(FileNotFoundException fnfex){

                         " ERROR File Not able to find "+fnfex.getMessage()+

                         "ERROR File Not able to find "+ioex.getMessage()+
               throw ioex;
     }I can't put the file under classpath because the file is store somewhere else. WHen i try to give an absolute path also it gives me error that the file cannot be found. Any clues what can i do?. I tried searching on google but most of the people have their file in the classpath or in their c directory. So that is why i cannot find a solution.

Thanks i will try tomorrow at work. Actually the application runs fine right now in WSAD but having issues while deploying under tomcat. I will post tomorrow if it works or not.
