Propose a new calendar time], propose a new calendar time

Hi,
Whilst apple appear to be making everything look fancy and colourfull there seems to be a lack of attention to detail on the basic functions of the calendar, for example if I am sent a calendar invite I have three choices, accept, maybe or decline. What about if I want to suggest an alternative time. Or having accepted the invite why am I unable to add additional notes to the calendar invite such as address details, notes about what I should take etc.
When setting calendar reminders, you determine the reminder times, why cant I select how many days, hours or minutes it should be for the reminder.
Apple, can you please look at this as microsoft have been doing this for years and there was me thinking you were at the forefront of technology or even adapting others ideas.
Your Sincerley

I am faced with the same issue. I am surprised that this is not supported in iCal (or atleast I am not sure if it is).

• Outlook 2010 new time proposal not work

Using Exchange 2010 SP3 with Outlook 2010 SP2. Sender sends a meeting request and recipient chooses option to Propose new time, it asks to enter new time and generates a new meeting request email. This new email doesn't look like it has any meeting request
details in it, and sender only receives a blank email showing :
The meeting was updated after the attendee sent this response.
**** has tentatively accepted and proposed a new time for this meeting.
Calendar doesn't get updated as well.
Anyone seen this before?

Hi,
Based on my research, it's an expected behavior that the meeting time cannot be updated to the new time which attendee proposed. The meeting time can only be updated by meeting organizer. In other word, if the organizer accept the new time, the meeting time
can be updated.

• Propose A New Meeting Time

If I receive a calendar invite, and I want to attend the meeting, but I can't on that particular time. have do I propose a new meeting time? like it is possible in outlook (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP100070381033.aspx).

I am faced with the same issue. I am surprised that this is not supported in iCal (or atleast I am not sure if it is).

• Outlook 2010: "Decline and Propose New Time" doesn't work.

Environment: Outlook 2010 v14.0.7106.5003 (cached mode) / Exchange 2010 SP3+RU4 (v14.03.0174.001)
We are following this guideline to propose a new meeting time:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/propose-accept-or-decline-a-new-meeting-time-HP010356518.aspx
User1 sends a meeting invitation (monday 10:00-10:30) to user2. The appointment appears at user2 calendar with status "tentative". So long, so good.
User2 clicks on "Decline and Propose New Time" and selects a new time (monday 11:00-11:30).
Result: The appointment is removed from user2 calendar instead of being moved to the proposed time. User1 receives a notification (Subject: "New time proposed: ... ") with the information "appointment declined" but there is no option
to accept the new time and also no hint about the new time.
If found a lot of posts with the same issue but no solutions...
Any ideas?

Hi,
Do the users have 3rd-party add-ins installed?
Let's try running Outlook in Safe Mode:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
Test if this issue persists when testing in Outlook Safe Mode, if there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.

• Outlook 2010, new proposed time on meeting not acceptable, buttons grayed out.

Outlook 2010 clients on domain w/ Exchange 2010. A meeting is scheduled by an organizer, the meeting is read by a client and the client requests a new proposed time. Once the organizer gets the new proposed time the accept new proposal and view
all proposals is grayed out. the request response and allow new time proposals is checked, also under calendar options tentative is selected on use this response when proposing new time.
The weird thing is this only happens with a few people and not everyone. I sent a meeting request to a client and she responded with a new time and i couldnt accept, i then had this same client send a request to another client and it worked fine on
the accept new time. Ive played out multiple scenarios testing with different people and i cant seem to find any info on this issue. why??????

Hi,
Which version of Outlook do those users who encountered this issue use? Can you switch to another computer and then try to reproduce this issue again?
Did those users choose "Tentative and Propose a New Time" or "Decline and Propose a New Time"?
Seems this issue is more related to the recipient side, I'd like to know if it's possible to have some test with one of the recipient who has this problem.
Please feel free to post back and provide more information.

• Delegate not receiving "Proposed New Time" items

I am looking at a principal who has given delegate access to his admin and configured the delegate to receive all meeting related items. I've verified this in the principal's mailbox. The meeting invitations all are sent from the principal's calendar
and the delegate sees the requests and all acceptances/declinations; however, the delegate is NOT receiving "Proposed New Time" items. The principal does receive them, thus we know the option to "Allow New Time Proposals" is not
disabled.
The one oddity I saw was that the principal had given the delegate "owner" permissions to his calendar, which makes the permissions appear as "Custom" in his Outlook. However, in Office 365, GET-MAILBOXFOLDERPERMISSIONS <ALIAS>:\CALENDAR
shows that the delegate has Editor permissions. I reset the permissions in the principal's calendar to "Editor" to remove the "custom" setting (once upon a time, custom settings used to cause issues in Outlook). The change, however, had
no effect.
Any ideas?

Hi Taj,
It’s by design. Decline and Propose New Time is same as decline meeting request. When you decline a meeting, this meeting will be automatically deleted in your calendar.
If you want to propose new time, you can try another option--- Tentative and Propose New Time. By default, you will tentatively accept the meeting.

• Why can't i propose a new time to a meeting?

The only thing i was looking forward to in iOS5 still isn't there and it is killing me!!! I syncronise my outlook calander over the air and it still appears impossible to "propose new time" for a either a meeting request or an exising appointment. The other thing that is frustrating is that when you decline a meeting you can't explain to the sender why you are not attending. With Outlook there is an "edit your response" option when you decline. Declining wihtout explanation is seen to be very rude in an Enterprise environment. Can someone please explain to me why this basic functionallity is still not available in iOS5??? Doesn't anyone at Apple use MS Outlook???

No. I cannot even get the flashing cursor to appear in that box.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

• Time machine always propose a new fresh backup

Hi all,
I am running an iMac 21.5" Late 2012, with an Intel Core i5 at 2,7 GHz, 8Gb RAM. I have recently (some months) moved from Mavericks to Yosemite (by the way, experimenting a general slow down is the system, I have brought my mac to an Apple Store and, after their checks, they told me that the computer i perfectly fine...) and since then I am having problems with Time Machine backups. After the first backup, time machine correctly performs following backups for a while and then (say, generally after a couple of days of seemingly correct functioning) asks me for a fresh backup as the verification of the actual backup seems to be not not reliable enough.
Technically, the message I get is the following:
Time Machine completed a verification of your backups. To improve reliability, Time Machine must create a new backup for you.
What I can't really understand is why is this happening so frequently... It is quite boring to have my machine backing-up a large amount of data (I have a 1TB HDD connected to an Airport Extreme, to which my mac connects via wi-fi) almost every two days...
Let me just add that I was NOT having such problems when running Mavericks on the very same iMac...
Is there any reported problem of this kind? What does it depend from? Is there any possible solution to this?
Any help would be very welcome!
Thanx, best regards
Stefano

• Scheduling Agreement New Delivery Schedule With & Without Proposal

Hi Experts!
I had an issue regarding our scheduling agreements. Issue is below:
What is the difference between "New Delivery Schedule WITH Proposal" and New Delivery Schedule WITHOUT Proposal"?
Any responses will be greatly appreciated and points. Thank you for your time!!

In addition to the above post,
as you changed the date manually from 2nd to 3rd....
so there are was no report for 2nd generated ulitmately...and if generated it was changed...right...
so when you again run the mrp...the system will generate one more pr for the same article....
this ultimately happens because of the set del dates in the MMR as i told above..
Hope it helps..

• Proposed new versioning system.

I've filed a feature request in the bug report tool but I thought I'd open it for discussion here.
I propose a new versioning system reflecting the kernel version. Like this: Arch-K2.6.18_original-install.iso; interpreted as Arch Linux, (K)ernel 2.6.18, original release. Then as updated ISOs are released they could be named thus: Arch-K2.6.18_update1-install, Arch-K2.6.18_update2-install and so on. Obviously when a new kernel is released it would be Arch-K2.6.20_original-install, etc. The final update before a new kernel version is used could be Arch-K2.6.16_final-install.
So there's no specific version of Arch except that the installer uses the latest kernel and has been updated to reflect new important changes which does not necessarily use a later kernel.

hotsauce wrote:
This will make arch look outdated since there is now new iso for every kernel upgrade. As has been discussed many times, version numbers on a rolling release system don't make much sense anyway. I don't see the point in tying the version numbers to a single (admittedly fundamental) part of the whole distro when there is so much else going on.
Keep it like it is and don't mix up people. Version numbers are only a "gimmick" anyway...
Arch 0.7.2 looks outdated compared to Slackware 10.2 and yet Slackware 10.2 uses the 2.4.31 kernel.
I just think that if the release includes the kernel version in it's title then people can see that it is a very up to date distro. Even as a rolling release distro it still doesn't upgrade the kernel that often.
It's just a suggestion and it could be improved.

• Spotify Personal radio - an exciting new proposal

I have been a Spotify premium user for many years and always been thinking of ways the service can be improved with the introduction of Apple music it's always good to be at the top. With this new proposal I think it could help make the company grow higher then it ever has done before. This idea is called 'Spotify personal radio' where Spotify premium users can effectively start there own radio station and there followers can listen exactly what there listening to in real time - this would be done at a press of a button. I believe as it evolves premium users could pay an extra £2 a month to get added features for example to give a live voiceover in there radio station for there followers to hear (Not just the music) aswell as choosing to add there own artwork or logos (can be seen on beats 1).I believe this could really kick off and is a very exciting idea for young people today who would like there own radio show but without having to invest loads of money into equipment - all that's needed is the app itself and a good taste in music. Please let me know what you think my email is [email protected], contact number 07415985094.

That's kind of the point of public playlists. A radio station is effectively just a playlist of tracks. Anyone can search for playlists and play from the . They can even subscribe to your playlists.
As Spotify is all about music, I fail to see how adding voice over would benefit anyone. I certainly wouldn't want to pay another £2 a month to hear someone talking. Hence why I use Spotify rather than listen to internet radi .
