Proposed new feature: Generic HDMI and/or DLNA awareness

You can project the BB10 device screen via HDMI, but some applications are "HDMI aware".
I would like the OS itself to be, so that you could project the screen via HDMI or DLNA and make the mobile screen a second screen or input device to the projected screen. As TAT showed on the Playbook a few years ago.

Appearently new phones running MP Brew are in the works but I don't suspect they will be out until late this year.  This question has been posted more than a few times and Verizon is unwilling to give an answer.  The fact that no one is previewing a phone should also be telling as to when the new phones will ship.

  • Can't disable new feature "collectively trim and fade grouped clips"

If somebody knows how to either disable this new functionality or override it with a keystroke please let me know.
This new feature is great, except for that I can't trim grouped clips in multi-track view the old way (from version 2.0). You used to be able to adjust the boundary of a single clip in a group - now it adjusts the boundary of all clips in that group.
    This is a deal-breaker for me. :(

    Incidentally:
    >on a more generic note, I'm seeing changes like this more and more in the software industry. Developers haven't got a clue how people use their software. When it comes time for V.Next they seem to rather enjoy removing functionality just because they themselves don't use it.
Adobe have very much been caught out by this in the past - which is why features that have been removed from Audition (eg the play list, and the whatever it was phase-shift function) have been put back, pretty much entirely due to end-user pressure. During development cycles, it's impossible to consult all of the end-users, although there are a couple of ways in which anybody can have a say - one is in the 'feature requests' forums, both here and at AudioMasters, and occasionally there's also the odd thread about specifics, which the developers also get to see.
One of my own pet peeves about this isn't so much the features that get altered (I can cope with that), but the lack of pre-settable options available. There are lots that could easily be there, like the amount of dBs of 'dip' in the centre of stereo panning, and an option to have the 'Solo' buttons working correctly by default (which they don't at present, IMO). Generally it's a lot of these little things that make the difference, often more so than the big ones. People like to have software set up for their own particular convenience, and Adobe should take a
careful note of that - I think it's more significant than they might realise.

  • Maxdb new features - Page Clustering and Prefetch

    Hi to all,
2 new features of maxdb are available with new patches: Page Clustering and Prefetch in OLTP-Systems.
Are there any experiences to this features?
    READAHEAD_TABLE_THRESHOLD
"This parameter is used to specify, if read operations of tables
should be optimized, i.e. if during a table access more than the
specified value in pages is affected, servertasks will be used to
read ahead pages of this table."
I activated this parameter in November. The system now starts more quickly and some expensive sql-statements may be faster. But the average db-time didn't change.
Page Clustering can be activated with parameter: DATA_IO_BLOCK_COUNT
Then tables can be migrated with SQL-Statement: ALTER TABLE <table name> CLUSTER
I activated this only for one table. This table now is read much faster.
    My questions.
Is there a documentation available for this features?
How can I "uncluster" clustered tables?
When this features are activated, expensive sql-statements are processed much faster. Because of the high workload on storagesystem, all other transaction may get slower?
    regards
    Franz

    > 2 new features of maxdb are available with new patches: Page Clustering and Prefetch in OLTP-Systems.
First of all: both features, although technically available, are not yet generally released for OLTP usage.
The current implementation of page prefetching is explicitely a proof-of-concept implementation which should be used by recommendation from MaxDB support only.
There are several limitations to the functionality at the moment, e.g. it does only work for table scans.
It does not work for joins, for index builds neither does it work on clustered tables.
Prefetching is available to 7.6 release only at the moment, so after an upgrade to 7.7 this feature would be gone...
    > I activated this parameter in November. The system now starts more quickly and some expensive sql-statements may be faster. But the average db-time didn't change.
    Well, nothing surprising here.
On SAP start there happen a lot of tablescans, mostly attributable to the fully buffered tables for the ABAP internals (security, ddic, etc.)
These statements will of course benefit if the pages are now read into the buffer in parallel.
For the avg. db-time: be happy!
This basically means, that most of the statements running in your system aren't processed by table scans, which is for MaxDB nearly always a very good thing.
    > Page Clustering can be activated with parameter: DATA_IO_BLOCK_COUNT
    > Then tables can be migrated with SQL-Statement: ALTER TABLE <table name> CLUSTER
Ok, page clustering is not documented yet (just as prefetching is not officially documented) and not released for OLTP.
    > I activated this only for one table. This table now is read much faster.
    >
    > My questions.
    > Is there a documentation available for this features?
Hmm.. you're using undocumented features - what do you expect?`
No, currently there is no official documentation.
There is work going on to provide official documentation but none of it is released yet (and it will take some more time!)
    > How can I "uncluster" clustered tables?
    ALTER TABLE <tablename> NOT CLUSTER
    > When this features are activated, expensive sql-statements are processed much faster. Because of the high workload on storagesystem, all other transaction may get slower?
    It's not that simple.
Both features address specific issues and are used only in very specific circumstances.
The clustering feature will not improve performance if the table is not accessed via the cluster key.
In fact, it may even decrease performance if this is done.
Also, at the moment clustered tables don't stay clustered on updates/inserts/deletes.
Therefore it is not necessarily a good idea to cluster tables like REPOLOAD pr REPOSRC on a development system.

    Lars

  • Proposed new feature - dual level security

Given the increasing use of smartphones used both for business & personal messages (not that this wasn't always so) it would be useful to have different security options for different e-mail accounts.  I always have to be careful about letting a family member use my BB because of sensitive business information - but it could be the other way around, someone not wanting their personal messages accessible to business colleagues (like their PA).
So this could involve different passwords to access different accounts (or one could have a "Master" password that opened both, and a secondary one that only allowed access to specific features).
While this feature could be completely customizable, that might be too cumbersome to be useful.  It is probably enough to have the option of two levels of security.
It would also be important to be able to separately sync the different accounts - so all my personal stuff is not residing in my office computer, possibly accessible by IT or my PA.
I would like to be able to set different levels of "security timeout" for business vs personal accounts.
And the master email list (first icon) would need to be customizable so that messages from all email accounts do not necessarily appear that.  Actually I would like to be able to deactivate the consolidated email list in favour of viewing each email account separately.
Security is already a major competitive advantage for BB, and this additional feature would reinforce that.  And remind people how vulnerable they are with so much confidential personal and business information so easily accessible through their smartphone.

  • New Feature for proxy

    Hi all!
I'm not found this feature in current Async OS documentation for web products.
So propose new feature - extended user logging mode.
In this mode all POST requests with posted data from some user group are grabbed and inserted into database for latest analysis by security operator.
    Is it possible?

    Hi,
Vontu will be the only qualified external DLP solution for now.
In addition to the external DLP functionality, Aurora (AsyncOS for Web 6.0) will also offer basic DLP functionality on-box in the IronPort Data Security Policies.
The corresponding idsdataloss logs would capture only the scanned outbound requests so I assume that this feature would be exactly what you are looking for...
    Best Regards,
    Jakob

  • Are you using the new features?

Some of you were very loud about getting certain features for PlayStation 4 and some even complained that they weren't available on day day1.
You asked for suspend/resume, a media player, dlna, the ability to pause downloads and you got it.
So are you using these new features?

Suspend and resume... for endurance racing modes on PJ Cars...Theres no save race status, kill the game lose the hole  1 hour 30mins race... sleep mode is on so if you pause the game the PS4 powers down and saves the game status.... Tested DLNA don't need it allready used plex VIA web browser then the transcoding PS3 and PS4 app...Pause and cancel down loads used.  Music player use for PJ cars... As people stated if you Do not Use any thing then they vanish from the dynamic menu on PS4...Most are not even on the console untill a User hits the down load option... (technicaly you could use the youtube app to watch this...)

  • New Features or improvements for Bibeans

    Hello,
I ask what should be the major Enhancements/New Features
for Bibeans and a approximate date for the new release.
    Thanks

A major enhancement is a series of JSP tags that will simplify the thin development. Also, you will have the thin version of the Querybuilder and Calcbuilder.
The next version will be available this summer.
    Thanks

  • New features of SQL & PLSQL

    Hi
Could anyone please guide me to the oracle documentation where I can find the new features of SQL and PLSQL?
    Thanks

What Oracle calls new features is not necessarily everything that is a new feature.
    Here are my personal lists:
    http://www.morganslibrary.org/reference/new_in_11gR1.html
    http://www.morganslibrary.org/reference/new_in_11gR2.html
    http://www.morganslibrary.org/reference/new_11_2_0_2.html
    http://www.morganslibrary.org/reference/new_11_2_0_3.html <-- still being built
These lists include undocumented unsupported features as well as supported ones so review for a better understanding of the Oracle database but only implement those you find in the online Oracle docs and which are supported. You, the user, assume all risks for making bad choices.

  • What new features in Oracle 11g can Apps 11.5.10.2 benefit from ?

    hi there,
we run Apps 11.5.10.2 on Solaris 10. I'm thinking of upgrading the RDBMS version from 10.2.0.4 --> 11.1.0.6 and I was wondering if anyone can reccomend some good features within the new 11g database to make use of.
    I'm aware of :
    - advanced compression
    - database replay (real application testing).
Does anything else spring to mind ?
    many thanks
    Cameron.

  • New Feature Added?

I have been on these discussions on and off since, oh, maybe 4:00, and just now I came back on and now I can mark if this post solved my problem or not. However, these are not on the threads that I start, only other threads taht I post on.
What does this do and, uh, any other relevant information? Is this kinda like bringing back that old point system (before the Discussions rennovations)?

    Hey Lougoose!
Thank You for the follow up post!
I had just noticed the new feature as well, and didn't know a thing about it!
Actually, I was in the process of composing a post of my own regarding it.
As I don't often view the Discussions Forum Home Page, I hadn't seen the link to the Announcement New feature: Did this topic solve your issue? either.
Now I can also try out the new feature, as I am going to click on Yes your post Solved my issue!
    Thanks Again!

  • Compress for all operation is New feature of 11g????

hey to all i'm going to create a table with compress option i used "COMPRESS FOR ALL OPERATIONS" IT does not create table using 10g and when i connect to 11g it create a table
i read the documentation of 11g managing table but this option is not very well elaborate there plz tell me the difference b/w compress and compress for all operation and either compress for all is supported in 10g or not
feel free to ask any question
    regards adeel

Table compression was available in 10g as well.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_7002.htm#i2128733
but "COMPRESS FOR ALL OPERATIONS" is new feature in 11g and the description for the same is self-explanatory.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/statements_7002.htm#i2128733
    <quote>
    * When you enable table compression by specifying either COMPRESS or COMPRESS FOR DIRECT_LOAD OPERATIONS, Oracle Database attempts to compress data during direct-path INSERT operations when it is productive to do so. The original import utility (imp) does not support direct-path INSERT, and therefore cannot import data in a compressed format.
    * When you enable table compression by specifying COMPRESS FOR ALL OPERATIONS, Oracle Database attempts to compress data during all DML operations on the table.

  • Why does Adobe implement new features half way?

The new hover scrub with big thumbnails in icon view would be certainly useful if it was implemented in a way that works. As it is, it's useless. Unless your total footage is about ten clips, you end up with dozens or over a hundred clips with no way to sort them out, unless you love wasting time and you drag them all around in the order you want, which I'm sure very few people are willing to do.
So why does Adobe bring in a new feature, even makes tutorials about it, when for most people is absolutely useless? I don't get it.
Oh, and before you nag me about filing a feature request, don't. I already did it, and this is not something anyone should do. Feature requests should be for new ideas, not a crutch for Adobe to rely on to release new features half way, and then expect people to nag them about it to finish them.

    Sebasvideo wrote:
So I would have preferred a little more decency and for the Adobe Premiere team manager to say, we're not going to include this incomplete feature in CS6, we're going to get it right and include it in 6.5 or 7, in a way that people actually can take advantage of, because this is supposed to be a professional NLE, not a toy.
    Hi,
I think what you meant to say is that you wish the team would have implemented sorting features before they added hover scrubbing. Hover scrubbing is a separate feature than Icon View, which has been in the product without sorting capability for years.
I agree with you that sorting capability should have been added to icon view long ago, but that's no reason to hold back a cool feature like hover scrubbing to the UI.
The other thing is that we as editors do not know what goes on behind the scenes during software development. There are a number of reasons why hover scrubbing made it into the interface before sort capability.
Hover scrubbing might have been developed by another group, and key features important to Premiere Pro users were not yet added.
There was not enough time to implement the feature, and other features took precedence.
Implementing the feature broke 5 other things when it was added to the existing code.
Implementing the feature causes the application to crash more frequently.
Other reasons that are privy to software developers.
Not saying that any of these things happened, but we cannot know. Honestly, there's not much more we can do as users can do but to request what we want, and how we want those things to work.

  • Can't switch between HDMI and VGA displays

I have a new H430, with hdmi and vga ports. My HP zr2240w monitor permits switching between AVG and HDMI displays, which I would like to do. But when I plug in both cables (HDMI and VGA) only VGA will work. If I  switch to HDMI or make it the default display,  the screen freezes at the desktop background: no mouse, no taskbar etc. Is is possible that the D430 video card will not support switching between displays (on  a single monitor)
    thanks,
    saintmaur

Dear Monika and Mylenium: I figured out part of the problem, but not the solution: The shape I had drawn -and coudn't  switch between fil and stroke on-is one I had already done a gradient mesh on, too. I had later abandoned the gradient mesh by using the option key to delete mesh lines, but that didn't take the shape all the way back to its original flat state. So it wasn't a plain drawn shape any more. So how do I release the gradient mesh  to get back to  a flat shape? I'm also having trouble keeping the shapes in RGB or CMYK mode-they keep defaulting back to greyscale. Could that also be a symptom of using gradient mesh? Note: I'm using gradient mesh for the very first time now; I've never used it before. It seems to leave a lot of unexpected baggage behind. I would send a screen shot, but if I start up Grab or Voila, all the AI pallets go away, and that's half the information.  So how do I control gradient mesh?
