Proxy vs WS adapter

Hi Guys,
I need to design proxy - soap synchronus scenario in PI 7.1. Do i need to use the webservice adapter for the outbound synchr proxy?
what is the difference between adapter less config in PI 7.0 to the usage of WS adapter in 7.1?
any suggestions or hints would be really appreciated
Thanks,
Raj

Hi Ruslim,
Thanks for your suggestions.
The receiver is non sap system and i need to use NTLM authentication on the receiver side using the SOAP Axis adapter so there is no other option other than axis adapter on the receiver side.
On the sender side i have SAP ECC 6.0 system so i can use WS adapter to send the proxy data to the Integration server. I can even post the data directly to the Integration server as we do in PI 7.0.
I just want to know the advantages whether to configure the sender side as we do generally in PI 7.0 or use the WS adapter.
Thanks,
Raj

  • Error while invoking the ABAP Proxy via SOAP Adapter

    Hi,
My scenario involves SOAP Client invoking a webservice hosted in PI which in turn invokes the ABAP Proxy asyncronously.
SOAP Client -> PI -> ECC (ABAP Proxy) . This works fine.
Next , I have exposed the ECC Service Interface as webservice using SOA Manager transaction. Now, once the service is created using SOAManager, i replaced the XI Adapter with SOAP Adapter and provided the target URL as the URL provided by the SOAManager.
SOAP Client -> PI -> ECC (ABAP Proxy via SOAP Adapter)
With this approach, i am encountering the below error message
2009-05-29 12:17:55 Error Adapter Framework caught exception: null
2009-05-29 12:17:55 Error Delivering the message to the application using connection SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException.
Any ideas on the above errror message? Any pointers or inputs will be appreciated.

This is a generic error message which does not have any information about the error which has occurred.
Do you see any error messages in the SOAP client?

  • How do ABAP Proxy and XI adapter work?

    Hi everybody,
I have a general question about the ABAP proxy and XI adapter.
In order to use the ABAP proxy and XI adapter, I must configure the HTTP Destination between the R/3 system and the XI server. I must also maintain the SLD.
After several hours configurations with our administrator, it failed. At least the HTTP Destinations on both servers don't work correctly. We got always HTTP error message. But a scenario with an ABAP Receiver proxy works! It is really strange and laughable. We're very happy about that but don't know why and what happened. Today we tested the ABAP Sender proxy, it doesn't work.
So we decide to ask the XI experts in this forum to give us a general lessen about the ABAP proxy: how it works, why we should create the HTTP destinations, how do the destinations work and so on.
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    With best regards
    Xiang

    Hi
Once you create the interface in XI, you generate the proxies on your R3 system.
    Client Proxies -->
This is done for outbound interfaces. You generate the proxy and then write a report that fills in the proxy class with the data and pushes it to XI.
    Server proxies -->
Generated for inbound interfaces. Generate the proxy and write the implementation for the exectue method that deals with the data sent from XI to the R3 system

  • ABAP Proxy without SOAP adapter in PI7.3

    Hi All,
We have dual stack implementation of PI7.3 but we do not wish to use the SOAP adapter for configuring an ABAP proxy scenario.
Is this possible? Is the Javastack only configuration in NW Admin available for use in dual stack implementation also?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Diptee

    Hi All,
So it essetially means that only the below 2 options are available for ABAP proxy scenarios in PI7.3 for a ABAP+Javastack installation
    - use of SOAP adapter over XI protocol
    - use of conventional proxy configuration of the ABAP Integration Server
And the only Javastack config cannot be used for a dual stack implementation.
Please confirm if above is correct.

  • ABAP Proxy or IDOC Adapter?

    Hi all,
In my project, we are using 3 system(SAP R/3(ECC 6.0), Oracle and VAN). Data has to synchronize between these systems.
    1. Oracle ->PI ->SAP R/3
Oracle system is sending Material master data to SAP R/3 ECC 6.0. At sender side I am using JDBC Adapter but at receiver side shall i go for IDOC Adpter or ABAP proxy? If I go for ABAP server proxy I need to create message type for material master in IR and then I have to write code in abap to insert MM data into tables in R/3. Please suggest which one will be better IDOC adpter or ABAP Proxy?
    2.VAN->PI->SAP R/3
VAN is sending Invoice data to SAP R/3. At sender side I am using Seeburger Adapter. At receiver  shall i go for IDOC Adpter or ABAP proxy?
    3.SAP->PI->VAN
Sap is sending PO data to VAN. At sender side Shall i go for IDoc Adapter or ABAP proxy?
Please suggest me which one is better in all the scenarios.
How to decide which is better for the above scenarios?
    Thanks In advance

  • Call ABAP-Proxy with SOAP adapter?

    Hi all,
for a PI7.1-scenario I would like to use the Lookup-API in mapping. As I know I can use either RFC or SOAP channels, however I would rather call an ABAP-Proxy in my backend system instead.
So my question is: Is it technically possible to use the SOAP-adapter to call an ABAP-Proxy?
Your help would be appreciated, best regards
    David

    Hi Stefan,
Interesting answer here and one that has got me curious. Hope you can help.
    1. When you say it is going to be possible to call a ABAP proxy using a  UDF in the mapping of XI ( Lookup ), would it be using the WS Adapter of PI 7.1?
    2. If 1 is yes, is there a new API code to do this, or is it the same lookup code as used previously in XI 3.0 and PI 7.0 Days?
    3. If 1 is no, can you explain maybe a little more on how this would be possible using the standard SOAP adapter of XI?
    Thanks a bunch.

  • Proxy to Mail Adapter issue

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement like a control report is comming from SAP through proxy to XI and I need to send that control report as an attachment in excel format from XI to the 3rd party by the mail adapter. Also in the mail body I have to send the information what is there in the excel.
Now as I have not worked before in mail adapter I want to know how can I send the report as an attachment in a mail adapter that too in excel format format and how can I do the mail body?
    Thanks and Regards
    Atanu Mazumdar

AFAIK there is no standard solution in PI to convert the xml message sent by proxy as an xls attachmet. You may have to plugin adapter modules to your receiver email com channels to achieve this. first step would be to convert the xml to flat structure using MessageTransformBean, you could then use the payloadswapbean to convert the payload to an attachment and name it with a .csv extension(which can be opened in excel). If you are looking at xls file creation, you could chk the links http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/CODE-CreateanExcelFileviatheJExcel+API , /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/07/04/read-excel-instead-of-xml-through-fileadapter

No that is not possiable to import WSDl File In receiver agreement because receiver always Provider .

wsdl file ll be imported in External defination as external message.

in receiver Comm.channel -> call the soap URL and Soap Action(not manadatary)

  • Using proxy in marketplace adapter

    Hello,
We need to use a proxy for connecting with a marketplace system. For
doing this we use a marketplace adapter, but in this adapter you do not
have the possibility to set a proxy. For sending the message to the
marketplace we need to use a HTTPS protocol, which is only available in
the marketplace and XI adapter, but those adapters do not have the
possibility of configuring a proxy. For instance the HTTP adapter has
the possibility of proxy configuration but does not have the HTTPS
protocol. How could we solve this problem?
    Thanks a lot,

I wonder if you can provide a proxy in here. The documentation for the adapter and the adapter itself doesnt have a proxy configuration in it

  • WebService: Proxy or Soap Adapter?

    Hello,
is it possible to use proxies to connect via WebService?

    hi,
    >>>is it possible to use proxies to connect via WebService?
"ABAP proxies that were generated from message interfaces in the Integration Repository (IR) can be used in both infrastructures. This means that if none of the Integration Server services are required for a proxy-to-proxy communication scenario in ABAP, you can use a point-to-point connection using the Web service infrastructure instead."

  • Sender file Adapter, problem with proxy authentication

    HI all,
i'm having some problems with the following scenario, i need to configure a sender file adapter which connects to a FTP server. To connect this FTP server i need to set a proxy (and so a username and a password), and i don't know how to do.
From note 821267 seems that the proxy is not supported for an FTP adapter, but the are some workaround like the ones described in the following link
    Re: Proxy server inFTP adapter
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=57137
They don't work in my case as i need to se two username (the one for proxy and the one for the ftp server) and i cannot force the proxy use for all XI applications.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks a lot
    Aldo

Proxy is necessary to exit the customer local intranet. It's not possible to go outside network without going through the proxy server.
I cannot set the proxy server in file adapter as it's not supported like described in SAp note,  a possible workarounf is to force the proxy server in the J2ee stack but in this way all PI calls would use that proxy..

  • WS Adapter: Scenario SAP(Client)Proxy= PI= WS

    Hello Experts,
I have a scenario -  SAP to PI to 3rdParty(NON-SAP).
This is merely data getting pushed out of SAP ECC to 3rd party.  Not request-response type.
The REQUIREMENT is P2P Communication Scenario thus will not make use of Integration Sever.
Data will be sent from ABAP(Client)Proxy => PI => WS Adapter/Direct Connection.
    Question:
    1.  Is there any application where I can test the webservice?(i.e. INFOPATH)
If its a request-resopnse type of scenario I can make use of INFOPATH to test the webservice however this is only
         consuming of service.
    2.  Is there anyway to test the webservice other than connecting to the actual 3rd party?AND I dont want to create a server proxy from another ECC client.  My test should be SAP->PI->NOn SAP.
    Ta!!
    Edited by: el_sapinator on Oct 19, 2010 3:51 PM

    Hi gaurav,
From client proxy u have to send request and get the response back...
So, for this create 2 corresponding data types and message types. and mapping will be between request message type which u created and request wsdl message and another mapping for response wsdl message and response message type which u created.
create service interface outbound synchronous(give the message types which u created) and inbound synchronous(give the wsdl request and response messages).
