PRS-00302:Name ORBIT Already committed in repository. Please Synchronize.

Hi,
There is no such PROJECT named as "ORBIT" in our OWB design repository. But, if I want to rename one project to ORBIT, it is giving the below mentioned error:
PRS-00302:Name <ORBIT> Already committed in repository. Please Synchronize...
Even if I synchronize the current view with repository, still this error comes. This problem is occuring for quite some time (i.e. for last two weeks).
If I check the data existing in the view ALL_IV_PROJECTS in the design repository schema through SQL, then also it did not show the above project name 'ORBIT', and still OWB is not allowing me to rename any existing project to ORBIT.
SQL> select * from ALL_IV_PROJECTS where PROJECT_NAME='ORBIT';
no rows selected
Our OWB version is Oracle 10g 10.1.0.4.0 for both client and repository.
Can you please let me know how to fix the above error and rename the project.
Thanks & Regards,
lenin

Mahesh,
You are not allowed to drop objects directly from the views. The views that you may want to use FOR QUERY PURPOSES are the ones that start with ALL_IV_. You should never delete any records directly from the views nor from the tables. Warehouse Builder's model is totally based on a logical model that is implemented in the Java layer that accesses the tables. A public Java API and scripting language are available to you if you want to manipulate the metadata through the command line. I am affraid you may have corrupted the repository by deleting from the view manually. Notice that anything contained by the project will still exist in the (corrupted) repository.
What may work (since Warehouse Builder cashes everything) is to close the design client and restart; then try again. Alternatively, you could try dropping the project once again through the OMB PLUS scripting language (see http://otn.oracle.com/products/warehouse/sdk/Scripting%20Pages/Scripting_home.htm). Other than that... I don't have a solution.
Thanks,
Mark.

  • Response already commited error. Please help very urgent

    Hello,
    I am getting "RESPONSE HAS ALREADY BEEN COMMITED" error, when I open a report.
    Please explain why do the get this error and how can I prevent it from coming.
    Thanks in advance.
    Raghu

    Can't really give much more than general guidelines as you haven't provided that much information.
    A stack trace indicating what caused the "response already commited" error would be useful in diagnosis...
    HTTP is one request, one response.
    You get a request, you can only send one response to it.
    When dealing with a JSP your response html text gets written to a buffer, and then to the output stream.
    You can change your response output any time until the output is committed.
    The response gets committed if
    - the buffer fills up with data. The default size of the buffer on a JSP page is 8kb If more than 8kb of data is written, then it will commit the response. You can change the size of the buffer with the [<%@ page %> directive|http://java.sun.com/products/jsp/syntax/2.0/syntaxref2010.html#15653]
    - you flush the output buffer manually
    What sort of things cause the buffer to be cleared and reset? Anything that changes your response completely.
    The obvious causes:
    - a jsp:forward
    - a response.sendRedirect
    - an exception that tries to load the error page.
    How to prevent it?
    1 - if you are going to forward or redirect from a jsp page do it as early as possible in the page to prevent the buffer filling up.
    2 - just because you issued a <jsp:forward> doesn't necessarily mean the page has stopped executing. Put it in an if/else block or similar so that after it does the forward/redirect it doesn't keep executing that same page.

  • Jsp:forward failed with 'Response already committed'

    I got a "Response already commited" error when using logic:forward or jsp:forward inside a JSP page fragment that is part of a Struts Tiles layout.
    Here is the code fragment included in the layout.jsp.
    <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-logic.tld" prefix="logic" %>
    <logic:notPresent name="user" scope="session">
         <logic:forward name="login" />
    </logic:notPresent>
    Here is the error message:
    [ServletException in:/WEB-INF/tiles/verifyLogin.jsp] Exception forwarding for name login: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot forward. Response already committed. (Servlet 2.3, SRV 8.4)'

    Jsp normally buffers output in a 8k buffer and write it to the output stream (i.e. "commits") it when:
    1) it is explicitly flushed
    2) the buffer overflow
    3) an jsp include is invoked
    My code is in a layout.jsp file which is referenced in a tiles-definition. The tiles definition is tiles:inserted in a top-level jsp file. I am not sure if tiles uses jsp:include or if there is a way to get jsp:foward to work in the layout.jsp.

  • WAS 6.0 - Response already committed / OutputStream already obtained

    Hello, we have struts code that is working fine in websphere 5, but not 6. I've seen this same kind of thing being post around, but haven't found one that closely resembles our simple setup. Below I've copied what our code looks like. Please help me to understand what the least-intrusive way would be to fix something simple like this, and let me know if more info is needed. FYI, we have tried returning null from the class, but this doens't seem to work. Also, some additional info is that we need this to work in WAS 5 and 6, because we have two different apps containing the same code, one of which is deployed (via EAR file) on 5 and the other 6. Thanks!

    svguerin3 :
    So this is something that worked in websphere 5 but not 6.. Are you sure this same code working on WAS5? This shouldn't. I guess you are trying to display the contents of the stream in a JSP page.If that's correct don't use
    ServletOutputStream out = response.getOutputStream();
         BufferedOutputStream bos = null;
         try {
                   bos = new BufferedOutputStream(out);
                    bos.write(<bytes, etc>);
         }instead read the bytes in to an in memory object, add this in memory object to request param and then call findForward(). In the JSP page get this request attribute and do whatever you want.
    Note: You can either use servletoutstream.write or RequestDispactcher.forward/redirect/response.sendRedirect.

    Hi
    the other user means to say that : what is the version of jdk used. Did the jdk come with the weblogic server 10.3 or you refered to a different jdk in the system it self.

  • Apache JBoss [Response already commited]

    Hi
    I have a problem. This problem started about a 5 days ago on the server. I am running JBoss 4.0.1 and struts. with apache 2.
    Now everytime a user accesses any of my jsp pages or actions, on the server this message apears.
    [JkCoyoteHandler] Response already commited.And after about an hour the server goes down due to memory leak. It throw OutOfMemoryException.
    What I have done so far:
    1- First I stopped apache and started the jboss server. using jmeter I tested my application with 5000 concurrent hit per minute. The server was alive an working.
    2- Then I started apache back, and this time I tested the application through apache (domain name, instead of ip address and port), it failed immediately.
    Intersting huh?
    3- Then I looked at my apache config file, it is like:
        DocumentRoot /usr/share/jboss-4.0.1RC1/server/default/deploy
        JkMount /* jboss
        RewriteEngine on

  • Cannot backup my files / copy my files and folders due to error message " The operation can't be completed because an item with the name ".DS_Store" already exists. "

    Hi Apple community!
    I have a [rather worrying] problem.
    When I try to copy all my files from my documents on my mac [or the entire documents folder] into an external drive, I get this error message
    " The operation can’t be completed because an item with the name “.DS_Store” already exists. "
    I am not given an option to skip this file or anything else.
    But I simply cannot complete the operation!
    I have tried deleting a few of the .ds_store files, [both in the original and in the destinations]
    but no success.
    The same thing keeps happening.
    At first, this was just happening when I was trying to backup to my dropbox folder [the one on my mac's harddrive, which gets synced to the cloud],
    but then I tried to back up my documents to my external hard drive, and I realized it is giving me the same error message.
    So effectively, it seems I cannot backup my files anywhere!
    Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Error message "The operation can't be completed because an item with the name .DS_Store already exists"

    Major headaches with copying files and folders between drives. I constantly (and I mean constantly) have to resort to copying files across in small batches (fewer than 10 works best) because anytime I try to copy lots of files and folders from my mac to an external hard drive (or from one external HD to a second external HD), I ALWAYS get the error message  "The operation can't be completed because an item with the name .DS_Store already exists".
    The files and folders are all Mac-generated, so hint or trace of foreign OSs in the mix.
    All file types are susceptible
    the HDs are all Mac OS X formatted, no foreign file formats involved
    the HDs are all journal-enabled, OS X extended formats
    have looked on here for previous posts, past suggestion was to disable creation of DS_Store files - not really a solution and realistically, defeats the purpose of their creation
    any ideas anyone?
    would appreciate any thoughts or sugestions, this has got me beat
    the context is that I have a lot of image files that I am copying (trying to...) new external 3TB drives for backup and the job appears endless if I have to do this in batches of 10 or so..!
    many thanks for any suggestions

    This is definitively a nuisance. When copying large amounts of files between volumes  try opening a terminal window and use use ditto. You need to type the directory paths of the source and the destination volume. When it starts ditto just coupes and optionally overwrites anything on the destination. You can get a verbose mode where it lists all activities.
    gunnars-mac-mini-i7:Volumes gunnar$ man ditto

         ditto -- copy directory hierarchies, create and extract archives

  • I have a new ipod and when I sign in to Words with Friends it says that user name is already in use. How can I continue using the same user name with a different ipod?

    I have a new ipod and added all my apps to it. When I sign in to Words with Friends it says that "user name is already in use" because it is linked to my old ipod. How can I use the same user name with my new ipod?

    Was the iPod setup via iTunes on this computer?
    Setup via wifi?
    Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
    Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?

  • Is it possible to restore Gamecenter after update and restore?? After update, tried logging into Gamecenter and it says that the user name is already taken. Yeah, I know..... by me!!!

    One of my kids ipods needed an update. It wouldn't let me do it via the itouch (like the other 2 itouches did). I had to connect to the PC, sync, update and then restore. Once I did, the apps could be downloaded again via icloud (which wasn't on the itouch before) but progress on games that were through Gamecenter did not transfer. Tried logging into Gamecenter and it states the user name is already taken. Yeah, I know it's already taken, BY MY DAUGHTER!!! Apparently she has a dragon game app that she manages through Gamecenter that she has worked her way to level 22 and now it is all gone. It wants her to restart from level 1. I know this isn't life or death and not like losing work data etc. But to a 9 year old who has spent $40 of her own money on gems, coins etc....... this is the end of the world. LOL. I do want to try to help her, I just don't know how.

    Thank you. After posting I started to search for Backflip studios and found this support id. I had meanwhile created a new nickname, very similar to the original one, and requested that they swap the advanced world to the new id. I sent this last Saturday evening. This morning (so effectively on their first workday after my request!) I received a kind response from Rachael that they had swapped the parks. Like your daughter my son couldn't believe his eyes. Thank you for your post, original and reply, I hope others will find it too and that Rachael can keep up such excellent support. It means a lot...

  • System Center Virtual Machine Manager SC VMM 2012 SP1 Installation fails: Unable to assign the name NO_PARAM to this host because this name is already in use.

    I'm trying to install VMM 2012 SP1 on a Windows Server 2012 machine and it fails with this error,
    the scenario is as follows,
    Old database (from 2012 RTM) exists on remote SQL 2012 SP1 server
    Server was 2008 R2 SP1 so I decided to make a fresh installation of 2012 with the same name
    installed ADK
    specific error: 01:42:13:VMMPostinstallProcessor threw an exception: Threw Exception.Type: Microsoft.VirtualManager.Setup.Exceptions.BackEndErrorException, Exception.Message: Unable to assign the name NO_PARAM to this host because this name is already in
    use.
    please help

    I had a similar problem today when upgrading from SCVMM 2012 RTM to SCVMM 2012 SP1 RTM. To re-create the issue you describe originally you can actually just uninstall SCVMM 2012 SP1 RTM with "retain data" option and re-install the software on the same
    computer (with the same name of course), attaching it to the retained DB. If you change the SCVMM server name I believe it will make some things go wrong after your install, like missing VM template passwords for example as the data gets encrypted in
    the DB. Maybe it didn't but I didn't risk it. I definitely know if you change service accounts on a scenario like this you will be without the encrypted DB data which isn't much fun. To avoid changing the computer name, if you look in the setup log
    files in %systemdrive%\ProgramData\VMMLogs\, specifically the SetupWizard.log file. You will see details on it failing because the same computer name is in the DB table "dbo.tbl_ADHC_AgentServer" and until it is removed from that table I wasn't able to get
    the install to complete at all. The error in my logs looked something like this "InnerException.Type: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException, InnerException.Message: Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'unique_ADHC_AgentServer_ComputerName'. Cannot insert duplicate
    key in object 'dbo.tbl_ADHC_AgentServer'. The duplicate key value is (computername.is.writtenhere). The statement has been terminated." In the row data in the DB it also seems to suggest that the computer name had "Virtual Machine Manager Library Files" on
    it which is strange since I always remove the local SCVMM server as a library server after I install it and use an off box library server.

  • The operation could not be completed because an item with the name xyz already exists

    I am trying to make a click and drag backup on an external FAT 32 drive to compliment my Time Machine backup (long story) and I've done this each time by dragging my critical folders into the drive. I get a message asking me to stop, replace or skip, and whether to apply to all items. i click replace, apply all, and let it go.
    however, one stubborn folder refuses to comply. every single time I click and drag a group of folder that includes that one, I get a message saying "the operation could not be completed because an item with the name xyz already exists" even after I selected the the "apply all" prompt. at which point, the Mac stops transferring ALL the other files.
    I figured, OK, i'll just transfer the other folders individually and then deal with this folder later. so I do that, and once I get to the offending folder, I try to transfer just that one folder into the drive. no good; I get the operation message again. I decide to just transfer the contents of the folder, rather than the folder itself. No good, I just get the operation message about one of the folders within the main folder.
    anyone know the cause, or at least a fix?

    If you've installed a system modification called "TotalFinder," remove it according to the developer's instructions after backing up all data. Log out, log back in, and try again.
    Otherwise, open the Info dialog on both the source and the destination volumes. What is the Format of each? For example, it might be "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)".
