  • CR 2011 - admin privileges error

I have tried domain admin and local admin accounts to install CR, all of which give me the admin privilege error.  I then proceeded to uninstall anything that could be using a older version of CR and tried the install again, still no luck.  Has anyone run into this issue before?
    Edit: Windows 7 Pro 32-bit

I got some help from Coy on this.  Looks like it ended up being a corrupt dll file.  Redownloading the software cured the issue.  I will not that I was able to install on win xp with the original download just not win 7.  I figure this is due to the permissions of win 7.
    Thanks for the help

  • Admin tool error: Physical database already exists

    Hello Gurus,
I am using OBIEE 11.1.1.3 and trying to import a new Essbase ASO cube into my RPD using the Admin Tool. I am getting the error message "Physical database already exists, but it is not of the same provider type". The cube is new and not in my rpd yet so why is it saying it exists? Is there a way to search for it in case it is in there?
Thanks very much for your help.
    Regards,
    JennC
    Edited by: user754680 on May 13, 2011 5:06 PM

You can search for the Tables, Cubes, Databases etc that are already in the repository. Just click on tools in the admin tool and select query repository. Here you can select from the drop down list what you are looking for and leave the name as * if you want to search for everything.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    -Amith.

  • SP 2010- Central Admin showing error while FBA configuration....

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to configure my sharepoint website using form based authentication . After completing some steps I added following things to SharePoint admin Web.Config file.
    - Membership
    - Role Manager
    - <add key="FBA" value="%" /> in PeoplePickerWildcards
But After Adding the ROLEMANAGER section I am getting error. If I removed the section it is ok.
Can experts help me to solve the error.
    AshisK

    OK.
Did you add your connection string in the web.config?
In the same web.config you are also supposed to add your ESISPBOX FBA DB connection string. Something like this.
    <connectionStrings>
    <clear/>
    <add name="ESISPBOX FBA DB"
    connectionString="data source=SPSQL; Integrated Security=SSPI;Initial Catalog=aspnetdb;"
    providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
    </connectionStrings>

Strange Error... seems due to currpt installation.
    Things to check:
    - Start of instance: please check all processes are down before starting up AdminServer
    - Start of instance: please check messages during startup (also Warnings...)
    - Check listen address, listen IP of instance...are there other (managed) instances?
    - Config files: check the <doman>/config.xml , compare it with backups if you got them

It's going to be impossible for anyone in this forum to help with your issue if you don't provide any more detail about your environment and Apex installation. However, from your post it looks like the Apex database objects are missing or invalid.
Did you follow the Apex installation guide step by step? For example, did you run apexins.sql?
It's important to follow the documentation. The script you are running to change the admin user password should not be run until after the Apex installation is complete.

No the file shouldn't have changed, was just wondering if any of the details on your laptop had changed.
To be honest it is not really advisable to be using the Oracle system account and a separate account created.
Is the system account definitely still active, if password expiration has not been disabled sometimes that can cause an issue.
Though to be honest if it was a password expiry the logs should show that with an ORA code.
The issue seems to be connecting to the Shared Services registry database
Does the EPM configurator start up and all looks correct?

    Hi all,
    Scenario for SAP 9.0 PL 07 :-

The SAP folder in " C:\Program Files\SAP " has been given full Admin privileges.
But still not able to install the Add-Ons. Giving error of no rights/permission .
Can you please help me locate some other folder which need to be given Admin privileges so that the Add-Ons will install.

    @ Pvsb prasad k,
    Thanks for the reply.
We have tried giving full rights(full control) to the user for the SAP folder in " C:\Program Files\SAP ".
But still the Add-On installation problem exists.
Is there any other folder of SAP which requires the full control permission to be given?
    Please suggest.

  • Disco Viewer/+/Admin/Desktop errors out with Invalid Username and Password

    Hi All,
We have set up a demo environment at work to upgrade to R12 with Vision database. Discoverer Admin is patched to this level: 10.1.2.2 (Path#4960210) with EBS patch 5985072. The iAS on linux box which is running Discoverer server is patched with same 10.1.2.2 as well. So client and server are at the same level. I followed Note 373634.1 - Using Discoverer 10.1.2 with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 to integrate Discoverer 10.1.2 with E-Business Suite Release 12 and copied over vis.dbc file to the client (C:\oracle\BIToolHome_01\secure) and also copied the same file to $BI_ORACLE_HOME/discoverer/secure folders. So far so good. I can connect to disco plus/admin/desktop using sysadmin or any other users shipped out of box with R12 VIS instance. A default apps EUL_US exist with some business area and workbooks. I can run them without any issues.
My problem is any FND users that I create cannot login via Plus/desktop/admin. I get the error username/password is invalid. I can login with this newly created user to apps no problem. I can see this user in discoverer when logged in as SYSADMIN and I granted all the privileges(admin as well) necessary. Also, any user shipped in VIS instance if updated (password changed or responsibility added) stops working and throws the same error.
What could be going wrong ?
I did look at this thread and have done all that is suggested by Michael and Rod west.
    Discoverer Plus Login Failed
    Thanks
    Bismi

    Hi,
Check whether there are any signon system profile options set. For example, case sensitive passwords set in the system profiles can cause a problem because Discoverer does not support them.
Also try doing a connection trace on Discoverer Desktop to see how far the connection attempt progresses. Follow Metalink Note 329898.1 for instructions.

  • BPC 7.5 NW SP10 - Admin dump error

    Hello all.
I am having a problem with SAP BPC 7.5 NW.
I had a system with SAP BPC 7.5 NW SP05, and we decided to upgrade to SP10.
We upgraded the ABAP component and the .NET component. After that, we unistalled the clients and we downloaded the clients SP10 component from the Marketplace.
    Now, we have two problems.
    - Firstable, if we install the client with the component downloaded from the Marketplace, we can use the Office client, but when we try to use the Admin client, the system shows a Dump error message:
" Server was unable to process request. --> OSoftResSvrAdm.Handle Creat ActiveX  Error at Admin Server
    - If we try to download the clients from the Software Client Center, the system shows a message saying that our BPC client and the BPC server are not the same version. But we don't have the client already installed.
Did anyone have the same problem?
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thanls in advanced.
    Best regards,
    Fernando

    Hello.
We have solved the problem with a reinstallation of the .Net Server component.

  • Admin Console errors in fresh install on Windows 2003 Enterprise.

I have attempted to install 6.1 SP4 on two different Windows 2003 Enterprise boxes. Neither has W2K3 SP1 on them. The installs proceed using a typical install with no errors reported. All defaults were accepted during the install. I can start the server for the Admin and web server instances. I can hit the default page on the web server instance. When I attempt to launch the admin console, I am prompted to logon, as expected. I enter my credentials and promptly get an HTTP 500 error. I check the logs in C:\Sun\WebServer6.1\https-admserv\logs\errors and find the following line:
[26/Apr/2005:12:43:26] failure ( 2596): for host 192.168.175.128 trying to GET /https-admserv/bin/index, cgi_scan_headers reports: HTTP4044: the CGI program C:\Sun\WebServer6.1\bin\https\admin\bin\index.exe did not produce a valid header (program terminated without a valid CGI header. Check for core dump or other abnormal termination)
I searched for others reporting similar problems and the closest I could come to an answer was to make sure cookies were enabled on the brower (they are). I get the same error in IE and Firefox, both locally and remotely. After becoming frustrated with one W2K3 server, I decided to try on another. Exactly the same errors.
Increased loglevels in the server.xml provide no additional logging for this problem. Any pointers to a resolution would be most appreciated as I'm about ready to scrap Sun and move to Apache.
    Thanks,
    Sean

Yes, there appear to be problems where certain old versions of Netscape and iPlanet products can leave old DLLs lingering in the Windows system32 directory.
I'd check for the following files in the Windows system32 directory (typically C:\WINNT\system32 or C\WINDOWS\system32):
    libnspr4.dll
    libplc4.dll
    libplds4.dll
    nss3.dll
    nssckbi.dll
    smime3.dll
    ssl3.dll
    nsldap32v50.dll
    nsldappr32v50.dll
    nsldapssl32v50.dll
If you find any of these files, you can try replacing them with a copy from your Web Server install. Don't forget to backup first.
Please report back what you find!

  • 10g Admin/Desktop error :could not locate or parse the .dbc file error

    Hi there,
can any one help me how to fix this error i get this while connecting to Discoverer Admin/Desktop edition 10g ver 10.1.2
    Unable to connect to: username@crp2
Failed to connect to database - could not locate or parse the .dbc file
c:\oracle\BIToolsHome_1\discoverer\secure\us-oracle3.dbc corresponding to the given Oracle Applications instance
i had created the system environment variable FND_SECURE and i've placed the .dbc files in the folder (C:\oracle\BIToolsHome_1\discoverer\secure)
    but, i still get error
    Thanks,
    Max

    Hi Russ
Here's some additional info from my own library:
    1. Set or check the following registry settings on your Admin PC:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Oracle\Discoverer 10\Database\EnableTriggers should be DWORD with a value of 1
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Oracle\Discoverer 10\Database\DefaultPreserveDisplayPropertyForRefresh should be a DWORD with a value of 1
    2. You need to create for yourself a folder called SECURE under your ORACLE folder:
    e.g. mkdir c:\oracle\secure
    3. Copy the DBC File from the E-Business Suite database and place it in the secure directory. It will be located in the TOP directory in the database.
    4. Create a Windows System Variable FND_SECURE with the value as in step 2 above: e.g. c:\oracle\secure
    5. Update your %ORACLE_HOME%/network/admin/tnsnames.ora to include an entry for the E-Business Suite database. The database name must match the two_task entry in the dbc file.
    6. You may have to rename the dbc file so that it matches the name by which you are referring to that database in your TNS Names file
    Does this help?
    Best wishes
    Michael
