How to connect PS3 to Imac I5 27 Mid 2011

There is a cheaper solution that works for every apple laptop and desktop devices. Sony has created a software called remote play that initially was only available for vaio user but now u can connect to other pcs, This software allow you to connect your PSP too, see this article: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/7225/playstation-3-use-remote-play-on-any-non-son y-vaio-windows-7-pc-ps3-firmware-3-30/

whats a faster internet connection joining one or create one.i have one ps3 one imac 2 ipads and one macbook pro?

For the AirPort Extreme Base Station to provide Internet access to network clients, it would need to be configured for: 1) Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address, and 2) Wireless Mode = Create a wireless network.
Although the option: Wireless Mode = Join a wireless network, exists for the Extreme, it really serves no purpose and should not be used.

  • Ps3 to imac 21,5

I want to use my imac screen for ps3. I have an "belkin mini displayport to hdmi converter".
I searched on the internet and found out I had to do something with command + f2 or something but i doesn't work.
Is it possible to do this and how?
I think the converter I have is only working in one direction because i can play movies with my imac and watch it on tv.
Can somebody explain me if it is possible to do this and how and why command f3 is not working???

Not successfully if you are attempting Target Display Mode.

  • Connecting PS3 to iMac 21.5

I have a late 2008 iMac (21.5 inch) and I want to connect my PS3 to it and I wonder if any one has a way to do it.

Sorry, but the 21.5" iMac does not support being used as a monitor for another system. That feature is only in the 27" iMac.
You could, however, take control of your PC, if it's a Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 system, from your Mac. All you need is Microsoft's free Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac. Or you can, by various methods, run Windows on your Mac and perhaps not need your PC at all.
    Regards.

  • TS3775 can i connect my ps3 to imac 27 inch

Is it possible to connect a PS3 to the 27 inch imac computer?

I'm also looking for the same thing, the PS3 has a HDCP in the HDMI that prefents any normal capture card to work in full 1080p HD. A couple of my friends have a HDCP stripper but i feel that almost if not illegal.  One way I saw on Youtube awhile back was a guy using a HDMI Splitter from one male to two female and ran one into his pc and the other into his TV. I then decided to order myself one to see if it actually works, Im suppose to get the package within a couple of days but ill let you know if it actually works, also here is the youtube video that I watched that gave me the idea, hope this helps!  (if you find out a quality way to record gameplay and cheap please let me know as well im still trying to find a way how)  Youtube vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo0DL2itV3w

  • PS3 AND IMAC

Hi all, I just bought a new 20" imac about a month ago,I am not mac savvy at all, im totally confused by most of this new stuff but I'm slowly learning. My question is this, What do i need to do i.e.: buy and how to install, to get my ps3 to work wirelessly ? Thanks in advance.

The simplest, and most economical way would be to get a Wireless Access Point (WAP) and connect this directly, using an Ethernet cable, to the D-Link router. An example of a WAP is the Linksys WAP54G.

  • Network PS3 and iMac

Hello, I have just connected a PS3 to my Airport Extreme via the WiFi. I have internet access w/ PS3. Is it possible to access/open/play digital movie files from my iMac w/ PS3? (ie. See/access an iMac file/digital movie on TV screen, and play that movie on TV thru PS3 setup)

    Hi, I would think so.
Have you enable File Sharing on the Mac & setup who can connect?

  • Would like to connect ps3 to Imac?

    Hi
apologies if this has been answered before or something similar has before, but i would like to connect my ps3 to the imac 27" screen that i am looking to get. Dont particuarly want an Imac screen as well as a tv in my uni room.
hope someone could help, looking for a cheap(ish) way but any information would be great!
    thanks

The other thing not mentioned is that you are restricted to 720p whether using the Belkin, Kanex, or the Atlona converters. To get 1080p you need a US$279 scaler.

  • Connect ps3 to imac

    Hi Fellows,
I've just purchased new iMac 27 inch which is customised with:
    16 GB RAM
    3TB HDD,
3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 and
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
I want to know if I can connect my PS3 using Thunderbolt-to-HDMI connector. Would it work?
    Thanks

Not successfully if you are attempting Target Display Mode.

  • Hooking PS3 to imac

is it possible to hook a PS3 to an imac and play?
if so, could any one explain please.

    You can but not well.
Check out products like elgato eyeTV hybrid... they can, but will only be in 480i or p at best... not HD and in my opinion not worth playing or the hassle.

  • My mini dvi output port is no longer working (2007 iMac) please help!

My mini dvi output port is no longer working, can this be replaced or do I need a new motherboard? (it's a 2007 iMac, no longer under warrantee. Long story short when I was out of town someone cut my power cord on my tv I went to turn the tv on and looked at the back of the tv to see if there was any loose connections and found the cord sliced 3/4 of the way through. I must have bumped the cord and it sparked and made a loud pop noise. Well it fried the tv (which has since been fixed) but everything that was connected to it (my ps3, receiver, and my iMac) ports are all not working now... (and yes i did try new hdmi cables to see if it was just that) If this is a hardware issue what exactly is needed to fix this? A new main board? Any feedback would be great on this. I took it to apple and they said $650 to replace the motherboard... Was just wondering if this port can just be replaced or if it is a part of the main board and that does need replacing. Everything else works fine on all three things (ps3, receiver, imac) just the outputs are fried on them. Is there any other way I can do video out of my iMac other than mini dvi? I'm not paying for the repair so I don't mind having apple replace the board, but for $650... I may as well get a new iMac for $500 more...

If Apple said the motherboard is gone, that's your answer. Even if you were to find out the port isn't part of the main board, it's all connected when you're talking about a power surge/short as you described it. And yes, I'd never invest $650 in a 5 year old computer.

  • How would I edit and burn HD 3D home movies at 1080i/60i to a Blu ray player on an iMac?

I own a Sony HDR-TD30V HD 3D Camcorder and would like to edit and burn my 3D home videos (1080i/60i) to a Blu ray capable of playing on a home blu ray player or PS3 using iMac software.

Well, you won't be doing 3D with Final Cut Express!  (With FCE you could edit 2D filmed with your camcorder @ 1080i60 but not 3D.)
For that matter, Final Cut Pro X doesn't even handle 3D out of the box.  But there is a third-party plugin called Stereo 3D Toolbox that works with Final Cut Pro X.
As for BluRay, you will need an external BluRay burner and software that supports it ... like Roxio Toast Titanium.
Also, I noticed that your profile says you are using OS X 10.6.8 - I strongly suggest upgrading to 10.7 (Lion) or 10.8 (Mt. Lion) before investing in FCP-X and other video software.

  • Third-party external hardrive as media server

I need to buy an external hard drive to store my rapidly increasing library. For space and cost reasons I'd rather go for a third-party drive with RAID than Apple's time capsule as I can upsize the drives as the library grows. BUT I also want to get some sort of media server so I can watch/listen/look at my files on the various TVs/HiFis I have throughout the house. Would I be able to do that with one piece of third-party kit (I have been recommended a networked HDD) and still run Front Row through it? If so how should it be set up?

Hi, yes you can do this (you have to choose either\or setup.
I use a Buffalo NAS Linkstation Live (1TB) - I setup a folder share to be my media share. This means that the following pickup my NAS drive:
    1. PS3
    2. iMac
    3. MacBook Pro
    4. iPhone(s)
    5. TV
    6. Dell laptop (iTunes)
    7. Lenovo laptop (iTunes)
I need to find out if this works with AppleTV - I am sure it will.
I bought through amazon - cheap and cheerful. Works a treat.
