PSAPI.DLL load library failure in Win 7 (64 bit)

Hi,
We have a 32 bit application (running in 32/64 bit WIN XP line). The application is being upgraded as 64 bit (i.e the binaries will be 64 bit). When the 64 bit .exe is run there is PSAPI.DLL load failure. Strangely, sometimes it runs fine but most of the
times it fails. Following is the sample code snippet:
// Load up PSAPI.DLL.
HINSTANCE hInst = LoadLibrary ( _T("PSAPI.DLL") ) ;
ASSERT ( NULL != hInst ) ;
Like i said above, there is no assert sometimes and it progresses ahead but most of the times, the assert is thrown and the .exe crashes later. It will be great if someone could help me out with the same.

• Load Library Failures

I just upgraded to a new box - was previously on IIS6,
Windows 2000 Server and CF7 - None of my CFX tags are loading -
CFX_ZIP, Image, etc. I get the Unable to Load Library exception.
Unfortunately - we rolled to a production server and our testing
missed these - it's amazing how much things are used when you skip
right through them!

By default Windows (and hence Java) will look for your DLL in several places - one being the working directory, I think it also looks under the Java installation directory somewhere (that's probably where your C:\Program Files\ entry is coming from), one being the OS directory (C:\WINDOWS\, or C:\WINNT\ or something), and so on.
I think you can set the LIBPATH as well? Or was that Win95/97/Me? I forget.
Anyway, this is all to do with how Windows works - it always looks in all these places before admitting that it doesn't know where a DLL is.
The exception is if you specify the full path to the DLL (which in Java I think you can do in the loadLibrary call), when I think it looks only in that place. But that's not recommended as you might want to change your mind later without recompiling the code.
Anyway, normally it will look in all these places, but it will also look in the place you specify with the -D syntax above, and (importantly) it will look there first. So if you set that and place your DLLs there, you won't get the error.
Dave.

error 126 can not load library "DLBAPRP.DLL" using defaults. this message appears when we try to print from our web bookmarks or any acrobat or pdf files

Hi I did a little digging and came up with something that got it fixed. Here goes:
1. Temporarily shut down my anti virus software..
2. Open the control panel and go to the add/delete programs going to the uninstall section.
3. Remove all Apple products in the following order:
ITunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, & Apple Application Support.
You do not need to remove safari.
4. Restart the computer.
5. Go to Apple.com and download latest version of oTunes.
6. Re-install.
This worked for me. No more error mags and all is working again.

• I keep getting an error message when I attempt to print: "Cannot load library LXBCPRP.DLL", but only from within Firefox.

Within Firefox and websites visited within Firefox, whenever I try to print using my Lexmark Z605 printer, the error message "Cannot load library LXBCPRP.DLL, using default '' appears. The printer works fine from other programs and indeed worked fine from within versions of Firefox before 4.0.1, and I have even updated drivers from Lexmark, but the problem persists.

Thanks for your time, but I maintain my position. There has been no problem with my printer from purchase (5+ years ago) until Firefox 4, in particular no problem with Firefox 3.x. I have no problem with ANY other applications I use now and have run through them all to check.
Firefox 4.0.1 remains the prime suspect, but I am willing to try any fix that the wonderful members of Firefox community may care to suggest.

• Purify-"Can't load library c:\jdk1.3.1\jre\bin\verify.dll"

I have JVM crash problem. So I tried to use purify to check the memory array boundary and other memory issues.
When I set purify to get "Memory profiling data" in "Run program" dialog, everything is ok. But if I want to get "Error and leak data", it always complained
"Can't load library c:\jdk1.3.1\jre\bin\verify.dll", because access is denied. Could not create the Java virtual machine."
I have tried JVM1.4 and JVM1.3 For JVM1.3, I am using -classic as purify requested.
Any information will be greatly appeciated. And I am dyning for the JVM crash problem. I have checked the c and JNI code and feel hard to find the problem by reading. Is there any other way or tools I can use? I have tried -Xcheck:jni, jdb. Nothing is useful. Thanks a lot.

I have JVM crash problem. So I tried to use purify to
check the memory array boundary and other memory
issues. Do you have any native code (JNI) of your own? If not, this exercise is likely to be a complete waste of time on your part, since it won't lead you to anything in your source that can be changed to fix it. It's a Java VM bug, and you'll have to deal with it in other ways.
It's entirely possible that Purify has some problems handling the JDK 1.3.1 verify.dll - probably because of some unexpected object structure or layout within it. Have you contacted Purify support?
But like I said, this is just going to be a complete waste of time on your part. Try a newer JDK (1.3.1_03 if you must stay with 1.3.1, or use the IBM 1.3 JDK, or just go to JDK 1.4.1), and see if you still run into this.

Hi All,
I am getting the following error message:
Error loading step 'x' of sequence 'MainSequence' in file 'y'. Could not load DLL or external library C:\bin\driver.dll
Error Code: -17004, Could not load DLL or library.
Source 'TSAPI"
My main DLL is one written in C in LabWindows. This DLL calls a second DLL that was written in Visual C++
I am using TestStand 2010 SP1 as well as CVI/LabWindows 2010. I have WinXP Professioanl SP3.
This same sequence, DLL1, and DLL2 have worked together in previous versions of TestStand!!!! All I did was upgrade to Developer Suite 2011.......??????
I have reviewed all the posts regarding this problem and have so far done the following:
1. Verified Both DLL1 and DLL2 reside in the same directory
2. Copied DLL2 into C:\Windows\system32
3. Used Dependency Walker to verify that there are no other missing DLL's
4. Unistalled Explorer 8 and installed Explorer 7 because of somthing I saw in depends and something I read while researching this problem.
5. Verified the Search Directories in TestStand
I am wits end, as I cannot determine what the problem is and any suggestions would be welcome
Solved!
Go to Solution.

So I did come up with a solution to this problem, but I don't understand why it solves the issue. Hopefully some of you can provide some insight.
So all my sequences were experiencing the problem described, and all sequences basically call the same dll's over and over.
I have a dll that I use as my "main" dll. All my sequences use this dll and I continually add more functions as our company designes new products, etc. This dll uses functions that are from my CommDll. The CommDll was written in C++, and it is also used in several other dll's that my sequence call's as I use it for all serial/telnet requirements.
So my test sequences for example calls the following dll's usually in this particular order ---
DbDriver - This dll handles all the database functioanality for our products, and calls libMysql.dll
PwrController.dll - this dll controls a pwrcontroller for all power on/power off, reboot, etc of our product. This dll calls the CommDll.
CompanyDll - This is the "main" dll that hadles all the cli commands and other test functions that our product requires. This also calls CommDll.
When the sequence calls are done in the order above, it does not work.. However, if I switch the sequence file to call the CompanyDll before the PwrController.dll everything works fine. Is there an order of operations here????
I also found that when I compiled my PwrController.dll with CVI 2010, it gave me an error could not load PwrController.dll no matter what order the seqence calls were, leading me to believe that I am missing something when building this particular dll. As soon as I copy the original, developed and compiled in 2006, everything works again.
Thanks,
greggj

OK
Be sure that all DLL calls are thread safe (do not perform calls in UI thread).
Also for real-time application you need real-time OS.
