PSE10: Table keystroke sequence to clear a layer?

Hi,
I'm trying to use CTRL+A;Delete;CTRL+D key combination in order to clear the content of the active layer.
When I'm doing it manually via the keyboard, the results are as expected.
But when I feed this and a sequence of keystrokes to one of my Wacom tablet keys: If the pointer is off canvas nothing happens, and if it's over the canvas, the canvas gets surrounded by a blue border, same as if I were holding down the CTRL key alone for selecting the whole layer.
Anybody knows if this is a bug or a feature, and either way: which key combination should yield the expected result via a table keystroke?
Thank you.

On a wacom bamboo tablet that keystroke sequence works with an express key on the tablet or using one of the pen buttons in pse 10 when using one of the painting tools.
Does it matter which tool you have selected when trying to use it on your tablet?

  • Tables icon displaying yellow in BMM layer.

    Hi all,
    When i was tring to drag drop tables from physical layer to BMM layer it's showing yellow icons.....
    Scenario is as follows:
    tables: EMP, DEPT, BONUS, SALGRADE.
    I have created complex join in Physical layer between EMP and SALGRADE (condition is "EMP$".SAL BETWEEN "SALGRADE$".LOSAL AND "SALGRADE$".HISAL). Samething i have taken into BMM layer. 4 table icons showing yellow and checked for consistency..giving errors like there is no join of logical tables.
    i have created join Physical layer will it not carry to BMM layer? Do i need to create same complex join in BMM layer? After creating the complex in BMM layer will those errors come again??
    Please aswer to my questions..asap.
    regards
    ck

    Gurus,
    The other two tables (DEPT, BONUS) are not required to join but i just kept it like that in BMM layer.
    1. I have created complex join between EMP and SALGRADE in physical layer and i also manually created complex join in BMM layer....it did not come when i drag drop the schema from physical to BMM layer. Do we require to create manually again the complex join in BMM layer?Yes.
    >
    2. After creating complex join in BMM layer EMP table icon shows white others are yellow. Will complex join not suffice to make error free (Consistent) in BMM layer?
    Is it require to join all tables (to maintain a star schema)?
    You need to create complex joins to create a star schema in BMM layer. This is needed to create an error free BMM layer.
    3. As per the requirement i dont require to join other two tables (DEPT, BONUS).
    What is the purpose of these tables?

    Please advice if i am wrong in the above cases....and also please answer to all my questions.

  • How to see the tables which are in the physical layer of SampleAppLite rpd

    Hi Everyone,
    I am new to OBIEE and I installed OBI Apps with Oracle 11g in my laptop. I tried to create reports using the OracleBIAnalyticsApps rpd. How can I know from which schema the tables are coming in the physical layer of the repository so that I can create a connection pool to the database. I got the default SampleAppLite rpd when I install the OBIEE but I am unable to see those tables in the database schema which are used in the SampleAppLite physical layer. Can anyone tell me how can I see the tables in the database which I see in the rpd. Actually my question may be wrong as I am new to this field, so please let me know if this is a wrong question. As I unable to express my question correctly. Thanks.

    For the OracleBIAnalyticsApps rpd - the tables are under "Catalog" then "dbo" in database "Oracle Data Warehouse" in the physical layer. The RPD comes out of the box with the required connection pools - you dont need to create any. The connection pools "Oracle Data Warehouse Repository Initblocks Connection Pool" and "Oracle Data Warehouse Connection Pool" in "Oracle Data Warehouse" read the data from the business analytics warehouse that you created in a schema name of your choosing with the DAC. All you need to do is edit the user name and password and the data source name with a connect string - which is the local net service name to your database for default call interface OCI 10g/11g assuming you used an Oracle database for your warehouse. One way to test the connection pool is to right click any table/alias then "Update Row Count".
    BTW Using the Admin Tool open the OracleBIAnalyticsApps rpd then do "Tools" then "Utilities" then "Repository Documentation" then "Execute". This will create a spreadsheet showing you all the mappings from the presentation to business to physical layers.

  • Error in creating table with sequence

    Good day,
    i tried creating a table in Object Browser - create table, selecting "Populated from a new sequence" when creating my primary key. The following error was encountered after i clicked on the "create" button towards the end.
    Creating table "temp2" failed.
    Failed Creating Table ORA-24344: success with compilation error ORA-00942: table or view does not exist ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception
    Thank you for any assistance.

    Hi,
    "Action: Check each of the following:
    the spelling of the table or view name.
    that a view is not specified where a table is required.
    that an existing table or view name exists.
    Contact the database administrator if the table needs to be created or if user or application privileges are required to access the table.
    Also, if attempting to access a table or view in another schema, make certain the correct schema is referenced and that access to the object is granted. "
    There are reserved names. Change the names of the table and sequence.

  • How do SAP BW tables translate in BOBJ IDT Business Layer?

    How do SAP BW tables translate in BOBJ IDT Business Layer?
    We understand that SAP BW stores data in tables. WHen we create BOBJ Universe, the table names are different from what we see in SAP BW .  Can someone explain how the SAP BW tables get transitioned in BOBJ IDT with examples?

    may be lets start fresh as i am lost now ,authentication and authorization are 2 different things right
    1)authentication - I import the OBJECT role from SAP BW to BOBJ enterprise ,thats it a person can now authenticate SAP system
    2)Authorization - how does this work ??
    3)Rights - this are ONLY for BOBJ objects and has nothing to do with SAP BW objects or even SAP Data right ??

  • Renamed tables and sequences; now maps won't deploy

    I "inherited" an OWB project where the original developer had not used any naming conventions for the project objects (dimensions, cubes, tables, maps, sequences). I, being a big fan of naming conventions, proceeded to rename the project tables, maps, etc to follow a naming convention.
    Well great, but now all the maps are broken (i.e., won't deploy) because the maps still reference the old object names. Is there a way to propogate an object rename to all objects that reference the renamed object? Or do I have to track down all of the places where an object is used, and manually do the rename?
    Thanks,
    s.l.

    Steve:
    All u have to do is to log in to your Runtime Editor and check for the mappings, locations and all other objects that you have changed or are associated to the changes are valid.
    You do not have to deploy each and evry object; you can click on the module and set the default action and deploy all your objects at one go.
    That will solve your problem.

  • How to set default value of a table using sequence number

    Dear all,
    Does any body know that how to set default value of a table
    using sequence number.
    But I don't want to use trigger to do that.
    Please help!!!!
    Eldon

    Andrew is essentially correct. You can get around the trigger,
    but not the sequence, if (and this may be a very big if) you can
    guarantee that every time an insert is done into the table, from
    whatever source, the statement looks something like
    INSERT INTO tbl VALUES (sequence.nextval,other_columns_values)

  • Materialized View Log table with sequence

    I have a materialized view log in Database A..a very simple one...similar to "create materialized view log on t WITH PRIMARY KEY"...The primary key is a composite key of 2 columns...Description of the mlog table looks like this...
    desc mlog$_t
    emp_ctr NUMBER
    emp_date DATE
    SNAPTIME$$ DATE
    DMLTYPE$$ VARCHAR2(1)
    OLD_NEW$$ VARCHAR2(1)
    CHANGE_VECTOR$$ RAW(255)
    The Materialized view is in database B...again a simple one...no aggregation...This gets refreshed on demand manually evey week. The records that get accumulated in the MLOG every week is ~ 300K..The manual refresh used to finish in about 20mins but since last week it is running for ever. Upon reviewing the contents of MLOG I noticed that it contained a mixture of inserts and updates. I'm not sure if the MLOG contanied only inserts in the past when the MV used to refresh very quickly...Based on the documentation, Oracle recommends creating MLOGS with "sequence" whenever inserts/updates/deleted are expected. I'm planning to drop and recreate the MLOG with sequence with the hope that this would fix the slow refresh issue...Appreciate if you could let me know your thoughs...
    I'm also planning to trace the session to get some wait event statistics to find out the reason for the slow refresh...

    There are a few reasons why refreshes slow down over time.
    1. Is the log table being cleared out after a refresh? If not, you may have another mview (maybe even one that doesn't exist any more) registered against this log. When this happens, the log table never stops growing.
    2. How big is the segment occupied by the table? If it has grown very large at some time in the past (e.g., because refresh was delayed), then when the refresh does a FTS on the log it will scan the whole segment - even if only a few rows are present.
    3. It may help to add an index to the PK columns, and another to SNAPTIME$$. Without them, the refresh will FTS the log. For a big segment, that can take a long time.

  • Filter from table head, within Region clears input

    Please help. I can't seem to figure out why the form element
    clears when a filter is applied. It would be so easy if I could
    apply the same region on both a <thead> tag for the sortable
    column header, then skip the row with the text fields, and then
    apply the same region to the <tbody> tag. But, one can't
    apply a region to a THEAD or TBODY tag. Ugh! Is there a workaround
    to this?? Here is my code for the table...
    <div spry:region="pvSearchResults">
    <table id="SPContentTbl">
    <tr id="SPHeaderRow">
    <th spry:sort="myID">ID</th>
    <th spry:sort="myName">Name</th>
    <th spry:sort="myRegion">Region</th>
    </tr>
    <tr id="SPHeaderRow">
    <th> </th>
    <th><input name="ffName" id="ffName"
    onkeyup="StartFiltering(this.id,'myName');" /></th>
    <th><input name="ffRegion" id="ffRegion"
    onkeyup="StartFiltering(this.id,'myRegion');" /></th>
    </tr>
    <tr spry:repeat="pvSearchResults" spry:odd="roweven">
    <td>{ID}</td>
    <td>{Name}</td>
    <td>{Region}</td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </div>
    Of course, this would work, I think...
    <div>
    <table id="SPContentTbl">
    <thead spry:region="pvSearchResults">
    <tr id="SPHeaderRow">
    <th spry:sort="myID">ID</th>
    <th spry:sort="myName">Name</th>
    <th spry:sort="myRegion">Region</th>
    </tr>
    </thead>
    <tr id="SPHeaderRow">
    <th> </th>
    <th><input name="ffName" id="ffName"
    onkeyup="StartFiltering(this.id,'myName');" /></th>
    <th><input name="ffRegion" id="ffRegion"
    onkeyup="StartFiltering(this.id,'myRegion');" /></th>
    </tr>
    <tbody spry:region="pvSearchResults">
    <tr spry:repeat="pvSearchResults" spry:odd="roweven">
    <td>{ID}</td>
    <td>{Name}</td>
    <td>{Region}</td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>
    </div>
    ... but again, no regions on THEAD or TBODY tags. It does, in
    fact, filter just fine, but only the first keystroke and then the
    dataset reloads and clears the form element. I would love for the
    text entered into the filter to persist so that a user could
    continue to type and retype, etc.
    Please help. Thank you in advance.

    This solution is excellent!! The only outstanding issue is
    that the input field loses focus and the user will have to reclick
    in the form field. I tried to add the line,
    document.getElementById(mf).focus();
    to the funtion, where mf is the id of the form field, but it
    did not work. Here is the full code, any suggestions?
    function StartFiltering(mf,myRow){
    var searchTxt = document.getElementById(mf).value;
    if (!searchTxt){
    dsSearchResults.filter(null);
    return;
    } else {
    var regExpStr = searchTxt;
    var regExp = new RegExp(regExpStr, "i");
    var filterIt = function(ds, row, rowNumber){
    var str = row[myRow];
    if (str && str.search(regExp) != -1)
    return row;
    return null;
    dsSearchResults.filter(filterIt);
    var obsChange = new Object;
    obsChange.onDataChanged = function(notifier, data){
    document.getElementById(mf).value = searchTxt;
    document.getElementById(mf).focus();
    pvSearchResults.addObserver(obsChange);

  • What happens to the open item in bsid table when it is cleared

    hi experts,
                   i have a doubt about open and cleared items of accounting documents. as we know open items of customers are stored in bsid and cleared ones in bsad. For suupose, an open item is closed ina particular period then what happened to the entry in bsid and bsad table. an entry regarding is stored in bsad (cleared),and what happens to the entry in bsid, still it will be there or removed from it.

    Hi,
    When ever we clear the document(Complete payment) that document will be moved to BSAD table. Other wise it will remain in BSID.
    If u are making partial payment then all the partial payment documents along with original document will be stored in BSID till u made the complete payment for that invoice.
    Assumption is u have to give all partial payment documents made for particular invoice item while u are making complete payment in F-28 transaction. So that these partail payment documents will also be cleared while making complete payment and moved to BSAD table.
    This trasaction can be used for both partial and complete payments.
    Irrespective of complete or partial payments made all the documents will remain stored in BKPF and BSEG tables.
    BSID and BSAD are index tables to address performance issues with BKPF and BSEG tables.
    So all open and cleared documents will be there in BKPF and BSEG tables.
    All cleared documents will be there in BSAD table.
    Alll open documents will be there in BSID table.
    Hope it is clear.
    Thanks,
    Vinod.
