PSI, Outstanding Commitments

Hello
I'm working on this projects issue and wondering if someone could provide a solution to this:
PO 489483 contains lines for Project FE2013-0046 Task 4.20.43.02.02.
PO Line 1 has quantity ordered = 45
PO Line 2 has quantity ordered = 5
Receipt 190177 has been created for PO Line 1 and 2
Issue is => These amounts, on Receipt 190177 above, are nowhere to be found on the Project, neither as a Commitment nor an Expense. Our thinking was, since these Items have not yet been Delivered on the Receipt, they should still be a Commitment on the Project. As is the case in other similar situations
We created a SR and Oracle’s Response:
The PO is in CLOSED status which is why these are
not considered as commitments. In Oracle Projects only the PO's which are
other than CLOSED or FINALLY CLOSED status are eligible to be shown as
commitments.
Actually, the underlying view PA_PROJ_PO_DISTRIBUTIONS is not extracting
these PO's because of the CLOSED_CODE status in base tables.
Customer may change the PO status to be eligible as commitment.
I had asked for further clarity … “That does make sense, in that once you close a PO, whatever is still outstanding on it, should not be showing as a commitment on the project, since the commitment on the PO has been closed. But in this case, the item has already been received, just has not been delivered. Shouldn't that be a commitment?”
To which I got this response from Oracle … “As long as the PO is closed, Projects will not consider this as a commitment.
And before closing the PO it was interfaced to Projects so the delivered
quantity exists as expenditure item with correct quantity.”
However I am not completely satisfied with Oracle’s response, as this was not a problem prior to our R12.1.3 upgrade as we were able to rely on PSI to provide an accurate view of total project expenditures and commitments. Since this error, I have not been able to use any information from Oracle to provide any level of accuracy on total/outstanding commitments on an equipment project, all of the information that I utilize is a collection of manual reconciliations.
Is there anything else that we could do?
Thanks
Len

Hi
You are saying that items received on a PO, that were not yet delivered, are not included in the commitments.
Are you sure the issue exists only when PO is closed? I would have expect the issue exists for a PO in any status?

  • List Display of Open Purchase orders limited to specific G/L Account

Does such a list exist? I know ME2K I can select by Cost Center or WBS element.  I am looking to see open orders by GL Account as the business may want to block the GL account and we need to see open orders before they do so.

You've got dynamic selection option on ME2K so you could use that to specify a GL.
If that doesn't give you what you want I don't think there's anything std on the Purchasing side but you could check if there's an outstanding commitments report per GL on the FICO side.
Or use SAP Query Tx SQVI with logical database EKM (which is what I think the ME2K tx is based on).

    Hi All,
After some investigation i found below two transaction codes by which we can get outstanding commitments purchase orders
    Internal Oders
    S_ALR_87013018
    S_ALR_87012999
    S_ALR_87013000
    Cost centres
    S_ALR_87013620

  • Capitalization Best Practice?

    Dear experts,
I am trying to run a capitalization of fixed assets. We have chosen to accrue all costs (GRNs) under several WBS elements, settle them intially under the respective AUCs and finally perform the capitalization. In other words, no direct class 21 capitalization, but all through class 6* G/L accounts. (Class 6* --> Class 23* --> Class21*)
Upon capitalization, is it necessary to close technically the WBS elements (From Project Builder Edit>Status.>Complete technically->Set) or is it sufficient to settle the individual line items (by setting an appropriate settlement rule) that i want to capitalize once the FA Master Data is in place?
Since the WBS element is shared among several assets for procurement I would rather avoid the tech. closure, which would prevent all new commitments and possibly (please confirm) the accrual of costs posted after the outstanding commitments.
    Many thanks.

    Hi
    Welcome to SDN
You should close the WBS if it has achieved its purpose.. If its a shared one, then dont do Tech Closure for the same
Just settling the same on desired AUC is enough...

  • User Exit or BADI.. Project close.

    Hi All,
    My requirement is as below.
If there is any associated PCPT work order has outstanding commitments or GR/IR balance then the system should not allow the user to close the corresponding project NWA unless this outstanding commitments or GR/IR balances are settled completely to project NWA.
Is there any user exit or BADI or any other way(possibility) to include the above validation? When I checked the transaction CJ20N I could not found any exit for this transaction.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Satya.

    Hi Satys,
You can find the BADI your self, Check the class CL_EXITHANDLER.
follow the below steps to find the suitable BADI for your case ..
    1) Goto se24 (Display class cl_exithandler)
    2) Double click on the method GET_INSTANCE.
    3) Put a break point at Line no.25 (CASE sy-subrc).
    Now
    4) Execute SAP standard transaction
    5) Press the required button for which you need to write an exit logic, the execution will stop at the break point.
    6) Check the values of variable 'exit_name', it will give you the BADI name called at that time.
    7) This way you will find all the BADIs called on click of any button in any transaction
if you follow this 7 steps, you will find a suitable BADI.

  • Commitments Not updated in projects side

Hi all, I've created one invoice and validated , and after that i've run PRC: Update Project Summary Amounts and PRC: Interface Supplier Costs programs for that project. But stil the prjects side the commitments not updated when i check in PSI screen . Please advise.
    Thanks & Regards
    -RG

Well, entering an accounts payable invoice and moving to job cost will update actual cost amount, not commitment amount. Commiitments, generally speaking, come from the Purchasing/Procurement module in any ERP software that I have seen, including Oracle. The general situation that creates a commitment is when you create a Purchase Order in Purchasing. That indicates you have placed an order to buy something and thus have a "commitment" to pay for it when it arrives. Once the order is received and cost is incurred, the commitment is reversed and actual project cost is updated. You don't see commitments in accounts payable because when you enter the invoice, you will debit Cost and Credit Liability.
When you create a purchase order, there is no general ledger entry created at that time. Thus the concept of committed cost was developed for project accounting to indicate to project management that you do have a pending cost. By adding commitment amount + actual cost amount, the project manager could see his total expected cost. If you also have budgeting active, you could set up to set an error if Committed cost + Actual Cost is > Budget Amount.
Look at the Project Costing User Guide. Search for the word "Commit" to get more information about commitments. In the EBS 11i guide, there is a section called "Overview of Expenditures" that gives examples of expenditures and commitments. Chapter 7 also has the integration to Oracle Purchasing information and talks a bit about commitments in there.
    Hope this helps some.

  • Integrating commitments from external systems

We are working with Project costing 10.7. We are trying to integrate commitements from other systems. Projects supports this (page 11-420 of the User's guide).
We have changed the pa_commitment_txns_v to include the commitments stored in our custom table that we created. We have also ran the projects process that updates PSI. The problem is that our external commitments DO NOT show up in PSI.
I have checked the PAXURVPS for in PSI that calls the views to display in PSI. From what I can tell is that all relevent views call a table called PA_COMMITMENTS_TXNS. No reference is made to the PA_COMMITMENTS_TXNS_V. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Robert

I am also facing the same issues.
Please let us know if you find any solution

  • PA Commitments

    Hi,
Is it possible to eliminate Requisitions from being reported as comitted cost in PSI?
The requirement is to show only Purchase Orders as the comitted cost, even though the purchasing process will include use of Requisitions.
    Thanks,

    Hi
You should modify the commitments views, and exclude the requisition part.
Note there are six separate views for commitments, you can group into two groups.
3 for expense and 3 for inventory destination using PJM.
In the expense group there is a view for requisitions which were not yet converted into PO, a view for PO which were not yet received, and a view for supplier invoices which were not yet interfaced to Projects.
In the PJM group there is a view for requisitions, for PO, and for Inventory receipt transactions not yet interfaced to Projects.
I think you need to touch the requisition views.
such update is supported by Oracle.

  • Open commitments though Delivery complition ticked for PO.

    Dear Experts,
I am facing a very strange issue.
We have a PO with 10 line items all items are alike except line item 9/10 where unit of measure is EA (each) and for others it is D (days). (account assignment catagory as Project, in the account assignment  WBS element, Commitment item, Funds center, Fund are maintained, and it is same for all line items),
All the items are ticked for del.complition. So apperantly these items should not appear as open commitments in Funds consumption report,
First Eights lines (which have unit of measure as D) are not appearing in Fund consumption report but the last two line items 9/10 (with unit as EA) are appearing as open commitment in Funds consumption report.
I just changed the unit of measure of line item 8/9 to D from  EA and saved the PO. After this i run the Funds consumption report and to my surprise the line items 8/9 are not appearing as open commitments.
I am not getting how come Unit of measure is playing role in Funds consumption.
    Can somebody help me understand.
    Best Regards
    abhijit

    Hi,
This reply is more of a guess work than otherwise:
Commitment seems to be created with unit of measure as D, possibly because that is the base unit of measure. EA could be alternate unit of measure which is entered in the PO. When you set delivery completion indicator, commitment is removed to the extend of  EA rates (reason note known - possibly due to corrections in PO subsequently from D to EA. You can check the PO change history in this regard)
To further understand the issue, you can verify the value of commitment with D & EA from table COOI by passing the object number with and without delivery completion indicator. Alternatively, you can use transaction RKACSHOW to see the changes in commitment with differing units of measure and with / without delivery completion indicator.
Please post the results after trying out.

  • Trying to create a query that shows Sales Order/Invoice Totals as well as Paid/Outstanding/Available Down Payments

Currently working on SAP B1 v8.82
I'm looking to generate a query that will give an overall report for a given customer that shows Sales Order No, Invoice No, Sales Order Total, Invoice Total, Amount Paid on Invoice, Amount Remaining on Invoice, Down Payments Available, Open on Sales Order.
I'm not sure what the best way to select the columns in bold above.  Invoice Total should be self-explanatory.  Amount Paid should be any down payments or applied payments on the invoice.  The balance due on the invoice (which seems to be T0.DocTotal if I'm not mistaken) should = 'Invoice Total' - 'Amount Paid on Invoice'. In the Down Payments Available column I want the total amount of money on the account or on down payments that aren't tied to a Sales Order.  If a client overpaid in the past for instance and there's a credit on their account, then it should contribute to this sum.  Open on Sales Order should be pretty easy.  I guess it's just the sum of everything that is still open on the Sales Order.  I'm just not sure what the best way to sum all the un-delivered freight, tax, and line items is.  Here's what my query looks like so far.
SELECT DISTINCT T4.[DocNum] [Sales Order No],
    T0.DocNum [Invoice No],
    T4.DocTotal [Sales Order Total]
    T0.DocTotal [Amount Outstanding],
    FROM OINV T0
    INNER JOIN INV1 T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry
    INNER JOIN DLN1 T2 ON T1.BaseEntry = T2.DocEntry AND T1.BaseLine = T2.LineNum
    INNER JOIN RDR1 T3 ON T2.BaseEntry = T3.DocEntry AND T2.BaseLine = T3.LineNum
    INNER JOIN ORDR T4 ON T3.DocEntry = T4.DocEntry
    INNER JOIN OSLP T5 ON T4.SlpCode = T5.SlpCode
    WHERE T0.CardName Like '%%[%0]%%'
    GROUP BY T4.DocNum, T0.DocNum, T0.DocTotal, T4.DocTotal
I tried doing a little searching around for queries similar to what I need, but I could find exactly what I was looking for and I'm very unfamiliar with OJDT, JDT1, and ITR1 tables which I think might be important to finding unapplied payments...

Thanks.  There's a few problems though.
    1)  It seems that OINV DocTotal != Balance Due.  I'm seeing a number of invoices where there was a balance due, but we applied additional money (either we took another incoming payment and applied it or applied money from the account balance, etc.) and yet it still shows a total.
    2)  It's pulling incoming payments from different customers.  I think this is because the table was joined based on "RCT2 T4 on T4.[DocEntry]  =  T3.[DocNum] and T4.[InvoiceId] = T2.[LineNum]"  In one example I have 2 incoming payments 446 and 614.  Both have the DocEntry 542, but one relates to A/R Invoice 542 (for a different client) while the other relates to Down Payment Invoice 542.  *I was able to fix this by adding WHERE T5.CardCode = [%0]*
    3)  I'm going to work with this a little bit and see if I can alter it to make it work for me.  Basically this query falls a little short on the following:
    -  Doesn't include incoming payments that aren't linked to a down payment invoice.
    -  Does not give the Invoice Total (I'd like to know how much of the SO was invoiced.  DocTotal seems to give me Amount Invoiced - Down Payments.  I'm not sure the best way to get this number.  Maybe I could do the sum of each line * tax + freight)
    -  Does not give the outstanding amount on an invoice.  The ARtotal [DocTotal] column gives me how much was owed when the invoice was created, but it doesn't tell me what is currently owed.
    -  Lastly it may complicate the query too much and could be left off, but it would be nice to see if they have any money from credits or incoming payments that has not been applied.  Perhaps this would be easily accomplished by simply pulling in their account balance.

  • Report S_ALR_87012085 , field Special G/L commitments

    Hi,
    A background of my requirement:
I want to have a vendor aging report. I have explored & identified that there are two standard reports available for the same:
    1. S_ALR_87012085
    2. S_ALR_87012078
I have run through Forumn & haven't got any answer for my query hence posting a new query. I need to understand some area in relation to these two reports.
Our requirement from a vendor aging report is to have multiple level summation from the point of view of Co. Code; then under Co code -> Account(vendor or Customer); then under Account detail list with seperate summation based on Spl. GL indicators for each Business Area.
    Need guidance on:
    1. S_ALR_87012085 : This report more or less satisfies my requirement except no seperate summation is happenning on the basis of Spl. GL indicators. However, in this report there is a input field is available 'Special G/L commitments'. I am putting values 'AW' here but no different output is coming whether we use this field or not. Please guide the purpose of this field & how to use the same. The document part says:
"List of Special G/L Inds for which Balances are Displayed
List of the special G/L indicators for which separate balances are to be
displayed in the specifications for the master record area. If special
G/L transactions were posted which are not included in this list, the
balances are summed up under "Other commitments". Noted items are not
        taken into consideration."
    2. S_ALR_87012078: There is a report already existing '0SAPDUEAN-01' under the report type 'Line item analysis'. This report also doesn't satisfies my purpose completely. So I need a guidance whether I should modify a current report or create  a new report. Also whether this transaction supports two report & provide us an option to choose either while executing the report?
Also in many threads it is written that,
' Go to transaction code FDI4
Select Form Type RFFRRD20 Line item analysis'
But I am not able to see this form type in my system. I am running on SAP 4.7.
    Awaiting response......
    Thanks,
    Akhil

    Dear AB2312
I undersood what you are saying, to put Spl GL recon account in the 'Line Item Recon A/c' field. But my purpose is still not resolved. I need to run S_ALR_87012085 once with all the input parameters & output should have multiple level summation as pointed by me in my first Post. Thats why I was wonderring what purpose 'Special G/L commitments' field serve.
Any suggestion on S_ALR_87012078 this as well?
