Public API for contract group change

Hi,
Does anyone know of a public API to change contract grouping? The only one I found is a private API: OKC_CGC_PVT.update_row.
TIA,
Alka.

Thanks Nagamohan. I did look at the package, but did not notice "update_contract_grpngs" procedure in it.....need to pay more attention :-)

  • Public APIs for Adobe Central Pro Server

    Hi,
    Can anyone point me to the Public APIs that are available with the Adobe Central Pro Server e.g. I would want my application to dynamically add or remove steps in the job db, or change the target printer. Also, is it possible to invoke the preview functionality that comes with the Adobe Designer and integrate with an existing application
    Here what we are trying to do is add the printing (template merging) facility to an existing application and would want access to the public API for these products.
    Thanks in anticipation!
    Regards,

    I'm not sure you can do what you describe in the manner that you appear to be wanting to do it. I know of no APIs that are provided. There are ways to get the job done, though.<br /><br />The job management data base is an ascii text file that can easily be changed programatically. Parts of our application use it for building a drop-down list of printers for the user to select from. Changing it doesn't automatically cause Central to use the new file. Central must be told to reload it before it will be using the modified file. This can be done by placing a certain "command" file in Central's control folder, but it would not run until after the current job completes - if the current job is the one that just changed the file and further steps of the same job are for the processing of the data, then that would be too late. Once a job starts, all the parameters and tasks from the job management database and on the original ^job statement is what will be used. This goes for changing anything about the job, whether it be adding/deleting steps, changing the printer, or any other parameters.<br /><br />We accomplish pretty much what you want by doing several things. <br /><br />*First, we define all of the various configurations of jobs that we need. For example, our main printing job has four tasks; it is not uncommon to need to restart a job someplace besides the first task. Therefore, we have four different jobs defined, each one starting further down the list of tasks. We do the same thing when the processing of the data has to vary in some manner - we have jobs pre-defined for each specific set of tasks and the source of the data sets the ^job name as required for the specific tasks that have to be done.<br /><br />*For modifying the printer, we use the -z<printer> and -asp<driver> parameters on the ^job statement and the source of the file sets the values as necessary. The source of the file will also set the job name so that the desired job is ran. <br /><br />*We also have built into our custom agents the capability to recognize when a "soft" failure is occurring (such as can't reach our database) and it will put the job back in for processing after changing the job name to run the correct job for restarting at the proper step. <br /><br />*One of our steps is to check a control file to see if there is a redirection for the specified printer to a substitute printer (say, the original printer is down for maintenance). This agent will put the job back in for processing, changing not only the job name but the printer parameters. It has to be put back in, instead of just changing the parameters and passing the file on to JFMERGE, because Central uses the parameters on the original ^job line, it doesn't use the parameters that might be on the ^job line when JFMERGE starts.<br /><br />*We have also created our own agent for running as the JFERROR task. This task runs when one of the agents supplied with Central encounter a failure. Our agent analyzes the failure and determines if it was "hard" or "soft". If it was a "soft" failure, this agent requeues the job, changing the name and parameters as necessary.<br /><br />So far we have been unable to determine how to get our VB6 agents to set the ErrorLevel to notify Central that the agent failed (we came up with a workaround instead of spending a lot of time trying to get the ErrorLevel to work). This is necessary to prevent Central's agents from processing when a predicessor custom agent fails. Since we couldn't set the ErrorLevel, we just set up all of our agents to always create an output file for input to the next task. When one of our agents fail, it only outputs a modified ^job line with no following data. This modified ^job line is recognized by our custom agents as an indication that a failure is in process so it skips any processing except to pass the file to the next task. Since there is no data or form commands in the file, once it gets to JFMERGE, it just terminates without producing any output or error condition.<br /><br />Previewing is accomplished by running the JFPVMRG agent to create a PDF and then JFPVSEND to send it to the originating IP# for receipt by the View Manager which will then load it into Adobe Reader. At this point, the job running on Central will be finished - it could have produced hard-copy output or not depending on its design. Once the user receives the PDF, they can do whatever they want with it (save, print, etc).<br /><br />We use the above capability for our users to view an "archive" image of forms, after it has been processed normally. I know of others that use it to create the PDF as part of the normal processing, allowing the user to then print from Adobe Reader it if they wish.<br /><br />What we do is to drop a DAT file into Central's input folder that runs the above two agents. Our application that is running on the user's PC then watches for Adobe Reader to load and when it does it forces it to be the top-most task (we do this because we have a problem that it will often open behind other windows).

  • SEM-BCS Preparation for Consolidation Group Changes

    Hi All,
    Is the task "Preparation for Consolidation Group Changes" only implemented when Consolidation of Investments has also been implemented?
    Does "Preparation for Consolidation Group Changes" have any value on its own?
    Any comments, replies or suggestions most welcome.

    Hi,
    I think that prep for cons group changes is independent (but supplementary to) from CoI.
    See what is said in help:
    "When in the middle of a fiscal year a consolidation unit is either acquired by a consolidation group (acquisition), divested from a consolidation group (divestiture), or <b>changes its accounting technique</b> (method change), the following data must be adjusted:
    - Reported financial data
    - Standardized financial data
    - Consolidated data with posting level 20"
    As you can see, not only consolidated data are to be changed, but also Standardized and Reported.
    Moreover, as is seen above, changes of accounting technique will also trigger such activities.
    So, my answers:
    1. No
    2. Yes.
    Best regards,
    Eugene

    The APIs at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/powerbi/dn874029.aspx only

  • What are the config steps for contract mass change and quota arrangement?

    Hi friends
    what are the config steps for contract mass change and quota arrangement?
    Regards
    Raj Kumar

    Process Flow
    The mass change process consists of four steps. You navigate between these steps by choosing the Next and Back buttons located at the bottom right-hand corner of the screens.
           1.      Search for contracts
    You search for and select the contracts or the contract hierarchy that you want to change.
    Contracts that have the status Closed cannot be changed.
           2.      Define mass changes
    You specify the changes you want to make.
    You make changes at header data level and at item data level by choosing the relevant change methods. A green tick appears next to each change parameter so that you can see where changes are already active.
    Once you enter this step, the documents you have selected to be changed are locked so that other users cannot make changes to them until you are finished with this process.
           3.      Simulate mass changes
    Here you can perform a trial run of your mass changes. This simulation step is optional.
    We recommend that you perform this step so that you can check how the change methods you have chosen will be processed by the system.
    You receive status messages about the change methods for each contract and can quickly see whether any errors arise in connection with the proposed changes at this stage. From this step, it is easier for you to go back and correct the error than after applying the changes.
    Background processing
    The system processes the changes in the background.
    If there are a large number of contracts to be processed, this step could take some time to complete. In this case, you can leave the transaction so that you can, for example, carry out other tasks in the meantime.
    The system sends you an e-mail once the simulation step is complete. The e-mail contains a link to the relevant screen in the application so that you can return to it when it is convenient for you to do so. If you have left the SRM application, you can only return via this link.
    Here you can see the status of the changes and, if necessary, you can correct any errors by going back to the Define mass changes step.
    The messages that you receive in the simulation step are not confirmation that a change has been performed. They simulate the messages you get after you apply the changes. You must complete the final step of the mass change process and apply the changes before they take effect.
           4.      Carry out mass changes
    Here you apply the changes to the contracts.
    You cannot reverse this step, which is why we advise you to perform the simulation step beforehand.

  • Execution of preparation for consolidation group changes

    Hello,
    In 1/2011 there was a change in the consolidation units hierarchy.
    A consolidation unit  moved to upper consolidation group.
    I cannot find in the master data of the consolidation unit , where should I update the FIRST CONSOLIDATION DATE,
    and the LAST CONSOLIDATION DATE.
    Best regards,
    Odelia Volfovich.

    Look at the master data of the cons groups - both the initial cons group as well as the new cons group.
    If this truly is a vertical move up the hierarchy, the initial cons group should have a period of divestiture, as 001/2011.
    Because the cons unit has always been a part of the higher up cons group via the lower cons groups ownership, the new cons group should have period of first consolidation the same as that of the initial cons group.
    The cons unit should remain in both cons groups until at least the end of the fiscal year and in many cases, depending on the reporting needs for year-over-year comparison reporting, it should remain for an additional year or more.

  • Need help with API for contract creation

    Hi,
    Using OKS_IBINT_PUB.IB_INTERFACE API, how do I populate the Known As (COGNOMEN) column of okc_k_headers_tl? The API does not provide any parameter for this. I can resort to a direct update to the table, but this API does not return any contract information(ID) based on which I can safely update the record.
    TIA,
    Alka.

    Hi,
    You got to define the Document Types in the System Setup form of OKE at Setup --> System Setup, then you could eneter type of a Contarct.
    Master Agreement is the Basic Ordering Agreement, Master Purchase Agreement or Blanket Agreement.
    Item master Org and OU - pls refr user guide and implemebntation guide at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25284_01/current/html/docset.html

  • Preparation for Consolidation group changes

    Hi Experts,
    I have worked on BCS but new to consolidation of investments and PCC.
    I am not able to understand the Preparation for Consolidation (PCC) tasks  as to why are they required. I've the following questions: -
    1. SAP help says PCC tasks are supplementary to the C/I tasks. Could you elaborate on how are the suuplementary to C/I tasks?
    2. What is the diff. between Acuisition in case of C/I and in case of PCC?
    3. In terms of reporting what will go worng if we don't run PCC tasks after a new acquisition let say.
    Thanks in advance,
    SSC

    1. PCC creates records to offset the balance sheet balances upon divestiture. These records include the relevant cons group values, where most BCS records do not include cons group because cons group in most cases is determined dynamically via the BCS virtual infocube function module's consolidations logic.
    2. PCC records and documents only occur when there is a divestiture in the master data for a cons group. This could occur for a divestiture or transfer activity. Acquisition does not affect PCC, except when it occurs as a result of a transfer, and it is relevant to the divestiture portion of the transfer as opposed to the acquisition portion.
    3. Nothing after an acquisition, it is mainly for divestitures and transfers (where a divestiture is necessary in the cons group master data).

  • BEA public API (WLS6.1)for programatically updating default security realm?

    Hi,
    Does anyone know how to use BEA's public API to programmatically add/update WLS
    6.1 user credentials in the default security realm? The API would of course
    automatically persist the updates to $WLS/config/mydomain/fileRealm.properties.
    Is there a way to do such updates by programmatically engaging the WLS security
    realm related Mbeans? I basically need to do (from a deployed application component)
    what is easily done from the WLS Console's [security->User->Add User/Change
    Password] screen. Ideally, I could use the same API that the weblogic.security.acl.internal.FileRealm
    command line utility (or wlshell also) uses to make updates. But I doubt that
    the classes used by these tools are in BEA's public API for WLS 6.1. Especially
    important to me would be the BEA API mechanism that takes a clear-text password
    and hashes it to the encrypted format written in fileRealm.properties (and synchronized
    w/ SerializedSystemIni.dat). Ultimately, I am trying to replicate a large
    Oracle table of (*user, clear-text -password, group) records into the default
    WLS security realm. Thanks for any insights.
    Ben

    Thanks to another's post, I have found the answer to my problem in the Girdley/Woollen/Emerson
    book "J2EE Applications and BEA WebLogic Server" pp. 496-498:
    Note: this code segment is for WLS 6.1 and this API is said to be deprecated
    in WLS 7+
    //Roughly outlined, assuming session w/ userName, groupName, password Strings
    in HTTP Post request
    weblogic.security.acl.CachingRealm realm = (weblogic.security.acl.CachingRealm)
    weblogic.security.acl.Security.getRealm();
    weblogic.security.acl.User u;
    weblogic.security.acl.Group g;
    u = realm.newUser(userName, password, null);
    g = realm.getGroup(groupName); // use g = realm.newGroup(groupName) if groupName
    does not exist in realm
    g.addMember(u);
    //log in the new user
    int rc = weblogic..servlet.security.ServletAuthentication.weak(userName, password,
    httpSession);
    // use realm.deleteUser(u), realm.deleteGroup(g) as appropriate, etc.

  • COI not reading equity data after consolidation group change

    Dear experts,
    I am running the consolidation of investments task for a new group that has been created on 012.2009. This new group CG2 is a child of an existing one CG1, and all the consolidation units that I have in 012.2009 under CG2 were in 012.2008 under the CG1.
    In my new group GC2 all the units have as first consolidation period 012.2009 and on the parent group they have as last consolidation period 012.2009.
    The problem is that when I run the COI task the system does not read the equity data for these consolidation units. I have both, equity data and Investment data defined to be read from additional financial data.  The system reads correctly the investment data for the parent consolidation unit, and tries to eliminate it, but as it does not read the equity data of the child so it takes the value to consolidation a difference, that is incorrect.
    Does anyone know what I am missing?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Sónia

    Hi Sonia
    i dont want to confuse you as Dan is guiding so far. let me put my thoughts some here.
    CG1  12/2008
       - CU - A    Parent    12/2008 to 999/9999
       - CU- B                   12/2008  to 999/9999
       - CU - C                  12/2008 to 999/9999
    do you have any another sub node for CU-B and CU-C? as B has investment in C
    New Group: 12/2009
      CG1
       - CU -A    12/08 to 999/9999
       - CU - B    12/08 to 12/9999
       - CU - C     12/08 to 12/2009
       CG2 group supose to be like this
      CG1
        -CU-A
        -CU-B
           I---  CG2
                 CU - B   Parent  12/09  to 999/9999
                 CU - C                12/09 to 999/9999
         - CU-C
    Now with above scenario you can invest in C from B and system will treate as FIRST CONSOLIDATION  based on AFD Investments/Equity
    How did you maintain B investments in C at CG1 12/08 level?
    and or    as per Dan
    You have to run PREP for CONSOLIDATION GROUP CHANGE  task  before CT task and after Elim Taks but before COI task
    thx
