Public folder not showing up as mail enabled, but it's receiving email.

I've got several mail-enabled public folders that are showing up as not being mail-enabled in the public folder console, but are receiving email. If I run get-publicfolder -identity "\folder\name" | fl it shows that the folder is mail-enabled and
all of the information listed there matches up with other folders that are showing up correctly.
With one of the folders doing this, I selected to mail enable it and see what happened. It accepted it, but it assigned it a completely different address, though if I search AD for the old address, it shows that it's attached to the very same public folder.
Also, if I check the GAL, the public folder shows up twice, one with the old address and one with the new.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

We have the exact same problem.
The "easy" way would be to export all mail-enabled objects from the MESO to text files to have smtp addresses saved :
get-mailpublicfolder * | select displayname,emailaddresses,grantsendonbehalfto, primarysmtpaddress | fl >> C:\temp\export.txt
Then delete Public Folder objects from the MESO
After that, you should be able to mail-enable your public-folder and add previously saved smtp addresses.
But this is just a workaround, not a real solution.
This is why we have just opened a case with Microsoft to clearly identify what is causing this post-migration (2007-2013) issue. I will update this post as soon as i have some news.

  • Drop Box folder in the Public folder not showing on the network

    Hi everyone,
I am running a MacBook Pro 2010 running OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion. We have an office and multiple mac computers connected to our network. For us to transfer files we use the Drop Box folder inside the Public folder (We do not use the dropbox website/service). We would use the finder and click on the computer on the sidebar, open the Drop Box folder and drag files in with no hassel. However my Drop Box folder is not showing up when other users are trying to access my computer via the network.
My file sharing is on and I have attached an image with the settings I am using. I have compared these settings to other macs in the office that have a working Drop Box folder and they match. Hope you guys can help me.

  • Exchange 2010 public folder not showing on exchange 20003 mailbox

    Hi,
I have public folder on exchange 2003 and separate public folder on exchange 2010. On exchange 2010 user mailbox, I can see both 2003 and 2010 public folders. On exchange 2003 user mailbox, I can only see 2003 public folders. It is not the permission issue
as I have given the user "owner" right and see not able 2010 public folder inless i move 2003 user mailbox to 2010 exchange.
Appreciate if anyone could help me if to point me to directions or any hotfix I can run?
    Thank you very much.
    Pwint

Are you using OWA or Outlook to view the public folders?
If you're using OWA, the reason you can't see the folders is that OWA in Exchange 2003 uses WebDAV, which is no longer present in Exchange 2010.
If you're using Outlook, you'll need to use the troubleshooting logs to determine the cause of the problems.
It could be related to Outlook trying to connect directly to 2010 mailbox server instead of CAS. Because normally the mailbox server is installed without the CAS role, it does not allow a direct Outlook connection. Or it could be something else,
    like authentication.

  • Mail opens but won't receive emails (Mail 2.0.5 on 10.4.3)

I had recently upgraded to 10.4.3, and shortly after had to have my iBook (G3 800mhz) sent off to have it's logic board replaced. Now that i have it back, I've found when I open Mail, the program will open and the grey wheel symbol by the inbox spins and spins but never receives my emails from a POP account. I know it is not my ISP as I have a iMac G5 and can receive email on it and have never had a problem getting email on both of my computers from the same account. The G5 is still on 10.4.2
    Has anyone encountered this?

More than likely. Apple hasn't specifically said there won't be another 4.x update, but I seriously doubt they'd bother with the impending release of iOS 5. The CDMA and GSM phones use different chipsets, which is why there is a disparity between the two right now. iOS 5 should unify the code base and get things back in sync.

  • TS3276 My iPhone screen does not show the options at the bottom of a received email.  I can not see a 'reply'icon at the bottom of the screen.

How can I get the Icons at the bottom of an email to show so I can touch the reply icon to respond to an email?

Open multi-tasking by double-clicking on the home button. Find the mail app, hold it down until it wiggles, then click on the minus sign to close it. Perform a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, open the mail and see if everything is corrected.

  • Mail-enabled Public Folders not showing as enabled in PFMC or EMS

    Good morning
I have some PF's that are mail enabled, but running the Get-PublicFolder cmdlet shows "mailenabled" attribute as False. Also, in the PF Management Console, the folder shows as not mail enabled (with an option to enable it).
I found this thread that seems to be related:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/918aad03-c96f-4023-89cc-ec2c66e51b93/mailenabled-public-folders-not-showing-as-mailenabled?forum=exchangesvrgenerallegacy
I'd like to do some testing, but recreating this issue with a test PF is actually really hard.
Does anyone know a way to force that "mailenabled" attribute to False after mail-enabling a PF? I can't find any ADSI attribute that is obvious. I changed MsExchRecipientTypeDetails to <not set> but that didn't do it...
**UPDATE** I just found out that msExchMailboxGuid is missing from that object. Does anyone have any kind of suggestion for how I can find the Guid of the mailbox that is no longer associated with this PF?
**UPDATE 2** I have found other PF's that are missing this attribute, but they are not displaying any symptoms. They are showing as mail enabled in the EMS and PFMC. So I guess this isn't a required attribute.
Could anyone explain the purpose of this attribute for mail-enabled public folders? I just assumed it was required.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Do you migrate these mail-enabled public folders from previous Exchange server to Exchange 2010?
Please check if you can see the SMTP address for mail-enabled public folders via Properties of Public folders.
Please check if they show in the Microsoft Exchange System Objects in ADUC.
Besides, I recommend you mail disable the public folder and then mail enable it again to check the result in the Public Folder Management Console.
For a mail-enabled recipient, a minimum set of attributes is required to make all Exchange components work properly. For example, a mail-enabled entry (a user, contact, group, or public folder) has to have at least these attributes: mailNickname, legacyExchangeDN,
and displayName. Without the mailNickname attribute, an object is not considered mail-enabled.

  • Mail-enabled Public Folders Not showing as Mail-enabled

We have completely migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 (SP1 Rollup 5).  Many, but not necessarily all, of our mail-enabled public folders do not appear to be mail enabled in either the 2007 PF Management Console or the Shell, yet they are mail-enabled in the 2003 System Manager and we can send email to them.  If we mail-enable a folder in the EMC, it blows away any previous email addresses and creates a new one.
Any reccomendations on how to get 2007 to accurately display the properties of these folders??

Issue description: Mail-enabled public folders can’t show as mail-enabled status in the EMC and EMS after migrated from exchange 2003 to exchange 2007, right?
    Troubleshooting:
    1.       Please use “Get-PublicFolder” to check the output of a migrated problematic public folder, see if the value of “MailEnabled” is “True”
Get-PublicFolder -Identity "\problematic public folders name"
    2.       Please find out where migrated problematic public folder objects exist in the AD. By default, mail-enabled public folders should stay in the “Microsoft Exchange System Objects” container. You can use ADUC or ADSIEditor to verify their current location
    3.       I assume that link between mail-enabled public folder and its AD object has been broken during the migration. So, I suggest you to create a test mail-enabled public folder, and compare the attributes of its AD objects with the problematic one with ADSIEditor. This will tell us if there are any incorrect values in the attributes of the problematic public folder objects
    a.       Launch the ADSIEditor (Start->run-> ADSIEditor.msc)
    b.      Locate problematic mail-enabled public folder object and the new created one
    c.       Right-click the objects and select “Properties”. Then, compare their attributes in the “Attribute Editor” tab
Notes: Please select all three checkboxes in the “Attribute Editor” tab, it will save more time during the comparison

  • Folders in webmail not showing in Mac Mail

I have finally go the new MobileMe mail webapp working on my MBP.
My question is about Mac mail. I have the same inbox both online and on the Leopard mail app, but the Leopard Mail does not show any of the folders I have on my mobileme web mail. For instance, I have a folder called "saved stuff" online, but can't figure out how to get that same folder to show in Leopard Mail when I use that application.
Any ideas? I'm fairly new to using Leopard Mail; I've always used the online version, so there might be something simple I'm missing.
    Thanks.

    Claude,
It would appear that you do need to force reindexing. Since forcing reindexing involves more than those On My Mac mailboxes, the issue of what type of accounts you use remains relevant?
To force Mail to reindex, you quit Mail, and in the Finder open Home/Library/Mail and locate the Envelope Index file (hopefully you only find one file with similar name). Drag out, or delete the Envelope Index file from the Mail folder, and then relaunch Mail, which will announce that it is ready to import mailboxes, but really will only set about to index all mailboxes.
Again, if you have anything other than POP accounts, please report that, and if you understand what you are supposed to do with the account folder for non-POP accounts?
    Ernie

  • Messages located in sub folders do not show in iPad Mail

Using iPad mail with Microsoft Exchange sync works great at the inbox level but any messages that are in sub folders do not show up in Mail on the iPad. All of the sub folders show up but do not show messages. In addition, I am not able to collapse the parent folders, the result is a very long list of empty folders. The exception is emails that I move to the folders on the iPad do show up if the folder is selected on the iPad. Looking for solution.

Has anyone else noticed the following?
I've synchronized with Exchange and am noticing some odd mail behaviour:
    - I have folders in my PC Outlook inbox
    - when I have mail open on my ipad, and a new message comes in, if I happen to be an a subfolder (example a special folder for messages from my boss or whatever) all the new mail goes to that folder instead of the inbox.
    - even weirder, it stays there when I go back to my PC and Outlook.
Not very useful long term since I end up with seriously misfiled mail...

  • Attachments not showing up in Mail

Do anyone have a usable solution for getting attachments to show up correctly in Mail? Every time I receive emails with an Excel or .csv, or for that matter .psd, .pdf or .doc files in them, the attachments never show up in the message body field or listed among the attachments.
To give you an example: My list view of emails show the email with the paper clip icon and "4 items", but only 3 items are visible from both the preview window and when I open the email.
I know there is a work around by selecting File > Save attachments, but come on that is not really a viable solution in an office setting when I receive 100-200 html emails with attachments, logos and other stuff on a daily basis.
Do any of you kind superusers found a usable solution for this problem that doesn't involve saving everything attached from the File menu?
    Br,
    Christian
And Apple... come on... you have got to be kidding with this #€#%!!! How can you be expected to be taken seriously as a productivity tool when something as simple as receiving attachments doesn't work. I feel like an idiot having purchased a MacBook Pro but still have to use Entourage because the most basic stuff isn't working as intended! (end of rant)

This sounds like either the sender's or the recipient's (your) mail server is scrambling the attachments. This is becoming more and more common as ISPs try to scan for viruses and phishing attempts. If this is what is going of, it is very easy to detect. If you want, you can send one of these messages to me and I can tell you if my hypothesis is correct. Send the message to info at etresoft dot com and use the "Send Again" feature, not "Forward".

  • ICloud Drive Folder not showing up in Finder

Hi, I have a Macbook Air (2013) and I'm running the most up to date BETA Version of OS X Yosemite. I read somewhere that is is essentially the exact same as the newly released Yosemite. My iCloud Drive Folder is NOT showing up in my favorites in Finder. I can only access iCloud Drive when I open up Finder and then click on the "Go" button in the menubar. How can I add the iCloud Drive folder to "Favorites" in Finder??? I've read it should automatically be there but it's not. Any help would be MUCH APPRECIATED!

iCloud drive will not show in your "Devices" section, but in the Favourites.
Your "Favourites" are hidden.  Move the pointer to the right of the word "Favorites" to reveal the hidden Hide/Show controls and unhide them.  iCloud Drive will not show as a drive, but like a cloud.
