Public JSP application in Portal

Hi
I have one jsp application of consult db, how wake up in portal?, and what directory set jsp application?.
I tried wake up my jsp aplication in Content Area who Java Application, but send me follow error:
AppLoader Error
An error occurred while processing this request :
The page cannot be found. Please check your jar file and make sure that the requested page is there.
Thanks for advance.

not at all - we're doing the same. We've copied the libraries into out web applications library area and start iFS services to allow iFS interaction through the web app. I guess storing the JSP's in iFS might be an idea instead of something like CVS or SourceSafe as it's secure and (probably) being backed up through database backup policies. You could then use some process to publish that to the app server using something like Ant, but certainly you dont need to run a web application using the iFS sile system as the root for your web application.

  • Hosting a Servlet-JSP application onto Portal

    Hi,
    I have a scenario where I need to host a pure Servlet-JSP based application onto portal.
    This application is not developed using Web Dynpro. It is a pure java based application having two separate URLs for Dev and for Production.
    Now I want to give access point to this application via SAP Portal. How can I achieve it?
    Thanks and regards,
    Amey Mogare

    Thank you for reply Michael.
    Actually, this TestApp is already deployed on its Dev as well as Prod server as ear file. So we can use same ear file? If yes, then how? If not, then how do I go about?
    But I have one question here. How will we manage the different URLs of this application on portal?
    I mean, how would Production portal will know to point to production URL of this application???
    Thanks and regards,

  • Adding a JSP application

    Hi all,
    I've to add a JSP application to Portal; in order to do so I've read the help and in the
    section "Adding a JSP application" there is:
    "To add a JSP application to Oracle Portal:
    From the Oracle Portal home page, access the JSP Application portlet on the Administer tab.
    Click Add a JSP Application.
    Enter a unique name for the JSP application. It must start with an alpha character and contain only alpha, numeric, or underscore characters and not exceed 200 characters...."
    Where is the "JSP Application portlet"? The help is the on-line help installed with portal...
    why does it refer to a "JSP Application portlet" if there isn't one?
    thanks for the help

    hi John
    There does seem to be a problem on line 44 of your image.jsp page:
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    at _image._jspService(_image.java:90)
    SRC:/image.jsp:44
    ...Would you mind posting a part of your image.jsp page that includes line 44 (or the complete page if it is not too big)?

  • Portal Security with existing JSP Applications

    Hello,
    we have some existing JSP Applications an want to include them into out portal. They are currently running on iAS as standalone applications. But we also want to protect them using portal security.
    How is it possible to use Portal Security for those JSP Applications.
    Regards,
    Frank

    Hello,
    currently I don't need to include them as portlets.
    I included the first Page as jsp Report... because of that, this jsp is secured. But my application has more jsps.
    Probably I could set an sessionvariable in the first protected jsp and check it in all other jsps. If this sessionvar is not existing, the user is not allowed to see this application.
    Currently I have no other idea.

  • Problems while migrating PDK applications from Portal 7.1 to Portal 7.3

    Hi All,
    I am facing a problem while migrating a PDK application from Portal 7.1 to Portal 7.3.
    Since Portal 7.3 doesnt support PAR files any more it provided with a tool to convert the PAR to an EAR file and deploy the resultant EAR to the new portal.
    I converted the PAR into EAR and deployed the file but the application is not executing. When I looked into the log files i found the following exception. The application is not able to identify the tag "documentBody". I checked the protalapp.xml and the "SharingReference" is properly maintained in the file but the error message suggests that its not able to fine the reference to the tagLib uri maintained in the portalapp.xml
    Now my question is why is it not able to obtain a reference to the taglib? Did any one face similar problem previously. Can you please provide me with any document for migrating / developing PDK application for Portal 7.3

    Thanks for your reply. I could see some progress after "thoroughly" going through those links. Thanks a lot (gave points too )
    Now I am facing another problem. The application did deploy successfully but with a warning. When i checked the warning it says that the deployment was successful but can not be started.
    The log file has the following error message.

  • Specify initial page following mod_osso login for JSP application?

    I'm developing a JSP application that is stand-alone from Portal, but that is protected via mod_osso. (What's the proper term for this - its sort of a Partner application, really an External application, but not registered w/ Portal at all...) Following mod_osso validation, if the login page was brought up (ie, the user was not signed when the application page was requested), I'd like the user to be taken to a 'default' application page (where I can retrieve other user info from the db for use in subsequent pages of the app.) Is there a way to specify this w/ mod_osso? (ie, after login, take user to a specific page.) I could put a flag in the session, check it on each page (ie, Boolean hasVisitedHomePage or such), then redirect to the home page if its false, but would rather not do this if there is a smarter method.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Following are the steps to use SSO with an J2EE application:
    Steps to enable SSO/OID user authentication to your J2EE application
    1)     Deploy your apps to Oracle9iAS mid-tier instance e.g. mid-tier-host
    2)     Connect to your SSO server in your infrastructure host as follows:
    http://inf-host:<port>/pls/orasso/orasso.home and
    Login as orcladmin. The default password should be same as your IAS_ADMIN password
    3)     Click on SSO Server Administration and then Administer Partner Applications
    4)     Click on Add Partner application
    5)     Enter the following information for your environment and click on Apply:
    Home URL: http://inf-host:<port>/osso_login_success
    Success URL: Home Page for URL for your apps which you want to secure
    Logout URL: http:// inf-host :<port>/osso_logout_success
    6)     Logon to EMWebsite for the Mid-tier Oracle9iAS Instance
    Select the HTTP Server -> Advanced Properties -> mod_osso.conf and add the following. Please make appropriate change for your environment
    <Location /context-to-secure >
    AuthType Basic
    require valid-user
    </Location>
    And then restart HTTP Server
    7)     Now when you access your apps, the logon screen will appear
    hope this helps

  • Urgent: Portletizing an struts JSP application

    Hello all,
    I have a struts JSP application. I want to portletize this whole

    framework.
    Using URL Services all I can see is that the first page will be a

    Can anyone suggest the best way to portletize the application?
    This is quite urgent and your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi all,
    Concerning the message below, does the struts framework affect how normal JSP applications are added to Portal? Or is it as simple as just importing the portal classes and referencing them in the JSP's?
    We would like to use struts for our next web application using JSPs, but need to display them within Portal. I've done this before by just changing the way our hrefs work, but am wondering if using struts will affect any of this.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Security in an jsp application using BIBeans

    Hi all,
    We are developing a system with BIB to access OLAP 9.2.0.5. We need to implement some access rules at database level, i.e. user 1 can read levels 1, 2 and 3 of a hierarchical dimension, but user 2 can only read level 3. We do not know how to pass this database rules to BI catalog user, or replace this BI user with database connection information, to have more than one different user connection accessing the system. Anyone can help me?
    thanks in advance,
    Alexandre Martins - Commit Consultores - Brazil

    We are developing a jsp application with TAG libraries
    Ex.:
    <orabi:BIThinSession id="BIThinSession1" configuration="/Project1BIConfig1.xml" >
    <orabi:Presentation id="untitled1_Presentation1" location="Presentation1" />
    </orabi:BIThinSession>
    <FORM name="BIForm">
    <!-- Insert your Business Intelligence tags here -->
    <orabi:Render targetId="untitled1_Presentation1" parentForm="BIForm" />
    <%-- The InsertHiddenFields tag adds state fields to the parent form tag --%>
    <orabi:InsertHiddenFields parentForm="BIForm" biThinSessionId="BIThinSession1" />
    </FORM>
    This application hás a login screen, where the user will pass his database username and password, which corresponds equally to a user of same name at the BI Beans catalog.
    Here is the moment that we face the Problem: We can not change the user to switch to the database user. The catalog user is switched by BIUser().
    Workarounds performed:
         1 – We created a ConnectionProvider class to establish the connection with the properties and another class - AuthenticationProvider - to pass parameters to the connection.
              Problem: Could not pass parameters to Application Authentication class. Tried to force application to connect to authentication or vice-versa to pass username that was informed at login screen but this does not work.
         Ex.: trying to set this classes at configuration file (.xml).
         User “ALEX” has database access (OLAP , MOLAP) and catalog access .
    public class AuthenticationProvider implements oracle.dss.security.AuthenticationProvider {
    public void authenticate(Hashtable properties) throws BISecurityException {
    properties.put(“user_name”, “ALEX”);
    properties.put(“password”, “ALEX_1”);
    public class ConnectionProvider implements oracle.dss.security.ConnectionProvider {
    public Object connect(Hashtable properties) throws BISecurityException {
    Connection conn = null;
    try {
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new OracleDriver());
    String sUSER = properties.get("user_name").toString();
    String sPW = properties.get("password").toString();
    String connStr = "";
    if(properties.get("jdbctype").equals("thin")) {
    connStr = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@" +
    properties.get("hostname") + ":" +
    properties.get("port") + ":" +
    properties.get("sid");
    conn = (Connection)DriverManager.getConnection(connStr, sUSER, sPW);
    catch(Throwable t) { throw new BISecurityException("Erro na conexão!", t); }
    return conn;
         2 – Tried to get configuration through session searching all the connections and changing user to desired connection (in this case “thin”, MM.MDM) and reconnecting or disconnecting and reconnecting again.
    At this point, debugged the database connection and could see that username actually changed, but when the program reached the open presentation TAG received an error because TAG could not understand the connection.
         Ex.: This is in between session TAG
    <orabi:BIThinSession id="BIThinSession1" configuration="/Project1BIConfig1.xml" >
    <%
    ManagerFactory mf = BIThinSession1.getManagerFactory();
    MetadataManager mdm = null;
    if (mf != null) {
    mdm = (MetadataManager) mf.lookupManager(
    ManagerFactory.METADATA_MANAGER, null, true);
    if (mdm != null) {
    try {
    int iAttachStatus = mdm.getAttachStatus();
    if ((iAttachStatus != MM.ATTACHED) &&
    (iAttachStatus != MM.ATTACHING))
    mdm.attach();
    Connection[] connectionArray = mdm.getConnections();
    if (connectionArray != null) {
    int count = connectionArray.length;
    for (int index = 0; index < count; index++) {
    String driverType = connectionArray[index].getDriverType();
    if ( (driverType != null) &&
    (driverType.equals(MM.MDM)) &&
    (connectionArray[index].isConnected()) ) {
    if(driverType.equals(MM.MDM)) {
    connectionArray[index].setUsername("ALEX");
    connectionArray[index].setPassword("ALEX_1");
    connectionArray[index].reconnect(connectionArray[index].getPropertyBag());
    catch (Exception ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace(); // just for demo purpose
    %>
    <orabi:Presentation id="untitled1_Presentation1" location="Presentation1" />
    </orabi:BIThinSession>

  • Embedding java based application in  portal

    hi ,
    I want to embedd a java based application..Iam giving the pageURL in provider file..will it work r any problem..
    i want to display that application as portlet.is mentioning page url is enough..that is tomcat..
    Second way:if i copy all jsps and source files to htdocs and create a war file and ear file..will it works..
    how to mention in provider.xml file to show this application in portal.
    is there any specific way..
    plz mail me
    regards,

    Our expirience with these types of applications is that you will need to integrate your jsp files (to some degree) into Oracle's jpdk framework, which essentially means some of the functionality of your jsp files may not work properly unless you switch to use many of JSP files with the JPDK api (i.e. custom tags and custom api calls so that the portal can render your application as a java portlet provider).
    I think there is also a way that you can deploy your web application in oc4j and possibly use the web clipping portlet to show this java based application, however, I am not familiar with this, and you should probably ask Oracle Support for more information

  • Read Server name in JSPDynpage to call a JSP Application

    Hi Experts,
    I am new Portal Content Development.
    I have a JSP application deployed on SAP NW portal server as ear file using Eclipse.
    Now to integrate this application in portal i have to create an Iview.
    To Create Iview i have to create JSPDynpage.( Since URL Iview will not be useful in my case)
    I am trying to follow Approach #2 as mentioned by Detlev in this thread  [iViews based on J2EE;
    Now in this JspDynPage I have to call my JSP application.
    In this application i want to read SAP NW server name and port name to create URL of JSP Application.
    after which URL would be :
    http://<Server host name >:<port>/JSPapplication.jsp
    Now how do i read Server Host name and Server Port name from JSPDynpage?
    Thanks in advance for the answer.
    Regards,
    Ashish Shah

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks for your suggestion , i tried it.
    However it seems to be struts application and url for the application is http://<server>:<port>/MyStruts/MyStrutsHome.do.
    I tried following relative paths: and these are the errors
    MyStrut/MyStrutHome.do  --> Unable to fetch site http://MyStrut/MyStrutHome.do.Error # 502
    /MyStrut/MyStrutHome.do --> Unable to fetch site http:///MyStrut/MyStrutHome.do.Error # 400
    MyStrut/                          --> Unable to fetch site http://MyStrut/.Error # 502
    /MyStrut/                         --> Unable to fetch site http:///MyStrut/.Error # 400
    MyStrutHome.do             -->Unable to fetch site http://MyStrutHome.do.Error # 502
    Not sure weather i can create a URL Iview for Struts based applications.
    Can you share your thoughts on this?
    meanwhile i am trying to fetch server name and port in my JSPDynpage as suggested by you.
    Thanks for your help till now.

    Hi,
