but i can't publish project.

This is normally caused (in Webhelp projects so I assume the
same is true in Flashelp projects) by there bring no publish
destination set. If you go through your SSL properties, is there a
publish destination set in the final screen?

11g BI Publisher Report - Disable Schedule option

Hi,
Currently we have moved our BI Publisher catalog objects to the BI catalog and security is controlled through the web catalog for the BI publisher reports also.
As part of it, we have given 'Read' only access to the BI publisher report and the user do not see any 'Edit' option.
But the issue is that he is able to schedule the reports.
Is there a way to disable that 'schedule' option?

from the catalog manager or from analytics url select the folder under which u have bipublisher reports and then click on permissions for the entire folder or for the report and then select custom it will show u list of options like create,delete,run,schedule,view,etc so take out(uncheck) that schedule option thats it

2010 Publishing Site - Disable automatic spell check

We have a 2010 publishing site.. and evertime you publsih a page it does an automatic spell check. Can this be disabled?
I found how to disable spell check on lists but I need to stop the auto check on page publish.

I also experienced this issue.
So i tried uncommenting the registerSpellingHandler() line in the Spellcheck.js files like suggested by sayitfast. This worked for me in my dev environment. But i didn't like messing around with the default SharePoint files under the 15 hive in the prod
environment.
So i searched a bit more and found a decent solution for this. You can disable the spell check for certain fields by setting the "excludeContentFromSpellCheck" attribute to "true" on text area and input controls that you dont want to be spell checked. I
did this on all my page layouts. Now i dont get false positives anymore.

This worked for SharePoint 2013. I dont know if this would work for SharePoint 2010 also.

Unable to print a publisher file from an RDP

Hello,
I get the following error when trying to print a publisher file when on an RDP. It will not print to the XPS either. I have tried administrator mode and this doesn't work and also tried restarting the RDP. This is affecting two users who have full access
to this document.
"The file %s cannot be opened. Access privileges have not been given."

Do you have any Security software add-ins installed in Publisher? Disable them to try again.
Please also disable the anti-virus program and firewall to verify if they are related.

Disable Buffer For Video Conference

Hi, I'm new to all this, so please forgive my lack of knowledge
My purpose of this is to do high quality video conference.
I've set up flash media server, and installed media encoder on another computer, input and output looks very much the same, but on the media player, it has about 1 second delay even on LAN,
is this because of the buffer of the flash player? how can i disable buffer completely?

some other threads said I should do the following:
"For switching off server side publisher buffer disable Live queue in conf/Application.xml
For switching off client side buffer in flash player use Netstream.setBufferTime(0)"
I set everything in Application.xml to 0
but for the 2nd part, i'm using stroke media playback, which came with the installation, and have no idea where to set that parameter

what it is not able to talk to? Hardware and recovery or status recovery endpoint? is this the only machine giving problem or there are other machines as well giving you trouble?
are you able to browse the URL from this bad machine? Do this- go to HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\FVE\MDOPBitLockerManagement
there will be two URLs one to escrow the recovery password and other for client reporting. make sure you are able to browse through the URL from IE, you should something see like "meta data publishing is disabled".

Screen sharing from OS X to Linux: No screen appears on Mac.

I am trying to connect from my MacBook to a Linux machine on the same subnet to see the Linux screen on the Mac. I press the "Share Screen" button in Finder under the remote desktop icon that appears in the Shared section of the sidebar and the Linux machine instantly tells me that another computer is controlling its screen. However, on the Mac, there is only a dialog box saying "Contacting xxx's remote desktop on yyy" and no remote screen appears.
I have traced the VNC packets (via Wireshark on the Linux box) and output is as below. IP ending in 140 is Linux, 150 is the Mac. Both machines are hardwired to the same switch.

If I try to go from Linux to Mac, the Mac sends its server protocol version then kills the connection.
I can happily share the screen of a Windows XP box on the same LAN via the Microsoft RDP product.

I have the Apple remote desktop working from the finder, its just as fast as any other vnc package I've tried and more convienient that chicken of the VNC or others as it is available from the finder. The configuration details below also work with chickend of the VNC and vine viewer.
I have a Mac OS 10.5 machine and a Linux centos 5 machine on the same network at home. The Linux machine is headless ie, no monitor, mouse or keyboard and my goal was to get the Apple remote desktop working to the Linux machine so that I could login and get a gnome-session desktop. I ran into the issue you describe and solved it after making the following configuration changes on the CentOS 5 machine.
On the Linux machine it is assumed that all the gnome desktop packages are installed and that you have the vnc-server.i386 package installed from the yum repository. avahi.i386 and avahi-glib.i386 are also installed. xinetd must also be installed from yum if you do not have it. xinetd.i386
I. Enable zeroconf avahi service ie, bonjour so your apple can see the Linux box in the finder.
a) If you can see the Linux machine in the finder, perhaps you already have the avahi daemon configured properly, otherwise edit /etc/avahi/avahi-daemon.conf. Mine looks like this, where mylinux_boxhostname is the actual hostname of my machine and browse-domains is a comma separated list of domains that I use:

b. Add or edit the file /etc/avahi/services/rfb.service, mine looks like this, note the port setting is 5900, this is the first X display . So the apple remote desktop client will attempt to connect to display on the linux machine. Other possibilites are port 5901, 5902, etc... for different X displays on the Linux machine:

III. Configure an Xvnc to start on port 5900, display from xinetd.
I'm using two monitors on my Mac, one monitor has a resolution of 1440x900 and I'm using it to display the remote Linux desktop.
a) The apple VNC seems to want a VNC password so I configure the VNC server on the Linux mahchine to use one, you can save this password in your keychain when you connect for the first time with the Apple Remote desktop client. Configure a vnc password owned by the user nobody on the Linux machine:

b) Create a vnc service under /etc/xinetd.d on the linux machine by adding the file named /etc/xinetd.d/vnc. Mine looks like this, note the vncpasswd location, nobody user, and screen resolution:

III. Setup your user environment on the Linux machine.
a) we are logging in with the username foo whom has a password. User foo has a home directory at /home/foo. His .bash_profile is to his liking and he wants to have a gnome session.
b) Examine /home/foo/.vnc/xstartup. Make sure the file is executable. Mine looks like this:

IV. Login using the Apple RDP from the finder as the user foo.
a) Make sure the SELinux firewall on your linux machine is not going to block port 5900. I disabled my SELinux firewall as all my machines are behind a NAT router with a firewall running.
b) If the avahi daemon is configured and working properly, you should see the hostname of your linux box in the finder window. Highlight it and you should see a "Share Screen" button. Push it. You will be prompted for the vnc password that we set on the Linux machine using vncpasswd. Enter the password and you should be able to save it in the keychain. Subseqent logins will not require you to enter it manually again unless it gets changed.
b) If xinetd and gdm above were configured properly, you should now have a gdmlogin screen at the resolution specified, mine is 1440x900. Login using the foo login and password. You should get a gnome-session desktop.
c) In case of trouble, try telneting from a term window on the mac to port 5900 on the Linux box. If you get Connection Refused, double check your xinetd configuration and/or any firewall ipfilters running on the Linux box.
Run netstat -an|grep 5900 on the Linux box. If you see a port LISTENING, then you have a firewall problem between the Mac and Linux box, xinetd is okay.
I have this working perfectly and use it to work from my Mac to the headless Linux machine every day.

I update post. I have found a workaround. I check in BI Publisher option "Disable Client Access from Analyzer for Excel ". And I export report in Excel with Excel Analyzer. Now I have a xdo sheet and I can modify it inserting my own macros. But now, as suggested by documentation "I cannot log in or connect to the BI Publisher server from my Microsoft Excel session. Therefore I cannot upload a template directly from Excel...".
There's a way to manually upload an excel template (xdo) to BI Publisher manually?? Can you explain the procedure?
I'm very frustrated.

Integrating SCUP 2011 in SCCM 2007 and WSUS

This is a 1 server configuration. All roles and apps are installed onto this box. I installed SCUP without a problem, but when I go to enable publishing to an update server "An Error Occurred"
It works when enabling to configMgr Server. I tried running as admin still having the same issue. I thought I could leave it with ConfigMgr enabled and Update server not configured, but Published is disabled.
The Message:
Failed to connect to the update server. Check your update server configuration settings and try connecting again. System.web.services.protocols.soapexception; System.web.services.protocols.soapexception: server was unable to process request.

Those are multi-issue apps for subscriptions.
You mentioned single issue apps which I take it is the same as DPS Single Edition and you can check around this forum and you’ll find several reports of apps being rejected for being too book like. I had it happen to a client of mine.
In short, your product may be fine for someone doing daily publishing of just content but for single edition it’s going to prove worthless, IMO.

Add comment error - can't post entries to blog

I helped my daughter create a website with a blog page for a school project. I've used the iWeb inspector to allow comments and images. It worked during an early publish to but the add comment no longer works. A box opens now that reads "This entry no longer exists. The entry may have been moved or deleted." Her project is now due for school and the blog won't work. Any help would be appreciated. I am posting via .Mac.

The error occurs when accessing the site via the web. Site access is fine and all pages but the blog work. I haven't been doing the captial W, but I would think that would just keep me from finding the site - I'll try it though. On the post-publish comment, I've certainly updated the site as it was built. So if I change the website at all and re-publish, it disables commenting? Can I get commenting back or do I have to build the site from scratch? Thanks.

Need to shrink huge log file

Hi,
Have a database which is published using transactional replication. The replication was broken yesterday due to a restore. In order to try and fix this I issued the "EXEC sp_replrestart" command and left it running, unfortunately
it has now filled up the disk the log sits creating a 250GB file.
Getting this error:
Msg 9002, Level 17, State 6, Procedure sp_replincrementlsn_internal, Line 1
The transaction log for database 'RKHIS_Live' is full. To find out why space in the log cannot be reused, see the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases
I really need to free up space on this disk and shrink the log, however I can't backup the database.
I've not tried shrinking the files yet as I can't do a full backup.
Any ideas?
I don't care about replication at this point and will happily ditch it if it gets me out of this situation.

I disabled replication at the subscriber and then the publisher and disabled all the agent jobs.
Then I shrank the database and files to 1GB. Phew, database is functioning just fine.
Need a solution to this. Problem is the published database (managed by a 3rd party) is backed up, worked on and then restored as part of their software upgrade procedure. In this case there is bound to be discrepency between the transactions
in the log.
Learned a valuable lesson regarding sp_replrestart today though :-(

IPCC Enterprise CAD Database Replication

Hi all,
We have deployed IPCC Ent. with CAD.
We have recently noticed that there is a gap between the size of CAD Side-A FCRasSvr DB (170 MB) and the size of CAD Side-B FCRasSvr DB (5 MB).
FCRasSvr is the Real-time statistics DB.
We have also noticed that in CAD Side-A there is a publication but in CAD Side-B there is no subscription.
Does this mean that replication is not happening? How can we check this?

- SQL Backup to the CAD database Publisher
2 - Disabling the replication between 2 servers
3 - Insulation the 2 databases of the 2 sides
4 - Reactivation of replication
after this we faced the issue of database size mismatch which was solved this way
This is a problem of SQL that generates the disappearance of the job SQL 'REPL-Merge'.
According to TAC, a first solution is to run the following action plan:
1 - Disable the replication of databases using the CAD tool and postInstall by logging in as local Administrator on the PG
2 - Enable the replication database using the CAD tool and postInstall by logging in as the local Administarteur PG
3 - Check that the SQL job REPL-Merge
4 - Check that the account used by the job REPL SQL-Merge is CADSQLAdminUser otherwise modify the job to use this account
5 - Make a daily check (for 5 days) to verify that the SQL job still exists REPL-Merge

Free trial- is publish to .exe disabled? Documentation doesn't mention this

Hi Everyone,
     We're using the free trial to see if we can open an existing Director file and export out an .exe.   We believe the original Director file was created on a PC but are not positive.
     When we go to Publish, the .exe option is grayed out.   If we go to Options> move from Shockwave to Standard. Then go back to Publish the .exe button is now available. However when we select it and click on Publish nothing happens.
We have tried:
- Moving the source files to a different directory in case the files are in a read-only format
- Installing the trial on 2 Windows 7 PCs.   Both encountered the same problem.
- Publishing to HTML, this works just fine.
Knowing that it's a disabled feature in the trial might help.   But we sure don't want to buy it if we cannot publish to an executible or it's problematic.   This file would need to be updated and published as an .exe and is the main reason to buy the software.

I could not find any mention of the publishing feature being disabled in the trial documentation but sure enough it was until we ran the updates If others have similar problems with the trial or publishing in general we also found updating the Shockwave and Flash plug-ins to the latest versions helped with some other publishing features that were not working or enabled as well.

How to disable 'Save' button when OAF and XML Publisher integrated...URGENT

I am new to the OA Framework and XML publisher. I have been working on a requirement where I am designing a new page in Manager Self Service with few fields and a submit button. Also designed a RTF template in XML publisher to display the output in PDF format.
When the details are entered on the page and click on 'Submit' button, the PDF will Open with the data populated. This is working perfectly... thanks to the forum.
But my issue is: When the submit button is clicked, it displayes a dialog box with Open/Save/Cancel options and if I click the 'Open', the PDF will be opened. But my client is a retail client and they don't want store managers to save this PDF so either I have to skip this dialog box and directly open the PDF or I have to disable the 'Save' on the dialog box.
Gurus -- Please help me how to achieve this. This is very urgent

I have written one method in my am like
