Publish to an Android App like in Flash.

Hi
I would like to be able to publish to an Android App like you can in Flash.
I know that I can export to Flash and then from Flash to an Android App but I can't export quizzes to Flash as this is not supported.
Another option would be to support exporting quizzes to Flash CS5.5. but that version of Flash is hopless when it comes to quizzing and never seems to work properly.
Cheers

Here is my understanding of the updating rules for iOS apps. Once you publish an app targeting a specific OS, any further update to that app must target that OS. Since Flash CS5.5 only targets 2.6 and later, which has a dependency on iOS 4 or later, you are as you discovered stuck. I think you solution is to create a new version, "My Awesome App HD" and then publish via CS5.5 to get the performance and Retina support you want.

  • Difficulty with Licensing Android apps developed with Flash CS6

    Hi, I'm heading down many a blind alley with this one. I have developed an Android app using Flash CS6 and it is ready to be published on Google Play. However, as it is a paid app, it is strongly advised to license it to protect it.
    There is a bit of documentation on how to do this with Flash Builder, but I need to be able to do it with Flash. The following link provides some info, though it is far too confusing for me to follow.
    http://www.rybram.com/index.php/blog/61-air-30-android-licensing-tutorial-project
    The Android developer page has info about it here, but it keeps refering to the Manifest file.
    http://developer.android.com/google/play/licensing/adding-licensing.html
    I've seen a few other threads on here touching on this subject, but I have not had any luck with them. There's lots of references to Air Native Extensions that handle licensing but I don't understand them.
    I'm quite surprised that there is no support from Adobe on such a fundamental stage of the app production. Basically, anyone developing Android apps using the otherwise fantastic Flash CS6 will have trouble protecting their apps with licenses once published, meaning that anyone can just grab the .apk file and redistribute it anywhere.

    I think what I need is the idiot's guide
    As long as you don`t make this attudude a habit
    It might be best that you hire someone to look into the matter, pushing out sth. on the market with no real plan
    I'm heading down many a blind alley with this one
    could get you into serious trouble with customers that buy your product, experiencing trouble with some kind of DRM you are blindfoldedly implementing and having no clue how to fix it.
    Just saying.
    You wouldn`t surely feel comfortably buying from a developer who is admitting to have no clue what he/she is doing, would you?

  • I have created an android app from adobe flash cs6 .The app opens on mobile device except on nexus 7 which has lollipop version? Is there any way to open my app on that device?

    please give me the solutions.

    Dear Bob,
      I downloader a VLS Streamer from the Apple app store.  It requires some kind of helper software to run, which, as far as I can tell from the video at the developer's site, allows one to download content from one's mobile device to their computer.  Since I don't have a compatible computer for my iPad to link to, the instructions don't help my situation.  I emailed them with my query and will probably hear from them sometime this week.
       I've lived with this problem for the 3 months I've had my iPad, and I'll keep after it until I have a solution.  But right now, I've run out of steam.  If this lead helps me to resolve my issue, I'll come back and HELPFUL or RESOLVED every response you've given.  I'm very grateful for your help.  Sorry I'm so utterly clueless.
       Thanks once again.  Please don't cringe if I get back to you another day.

  • Android App - works fine in Device Central but not in phone

    Greetings!
    Just looking for some general "you might try this" tips.  I've built a very basic game app for Android so I can start learning not only how to develop for Android, but also how to publish and distribute Android apps to users.
    My game works fine when I test in Device Central from Flash.  And I've been able to upload my app to the Android Market. But when I install and run on my Android phone (I've actually tested on two separate devices), I just get a light yellow screen with a series of tiny dots that move across the screen, almost like a loading indicator, but nothing happens after that.
    I've tried publishing as both an Air (Air 2) file and a Flash (Flash 10) file.  In device central, I tested the app on a Droid Incredible emulation.  The devices I've tested on are an HTC Inspire (AT&T) and an HTC Thunderbolt (Verizon).
    So, I know there's no way for someone to take my limited description above and say "this is your problem".  Again, I'm just hoping for some general tips along the lines of "try publishing in a different version of Flash".
    Any suggestions for where I should start digging?
    Thanks in advance!
    Joel

    Sign out of the store on your phone, then sign back in. Note having content from more than one country's store may complicate the process of updating apps and downloading past purchases.

  • Flash CS5.5 :Android App won't match screensize

    Hi,
    I have created an app for ipad recently with Flash CS5.5. It works just fine, but now I'm trying to publishing it for android devices such as the samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. When I set the document dimensions to 1280x800 the app won't match the screen resolution of the tab and the app displays white bars for filling the gaps.
    I tried to enlarge the document width to 1380 pixel but the height won't fit on the other hand...
    I exported it landscape view and fullscreen.
    Thanks.

    As like that for 1024*768 for ipad, Is that the exact size of android tablet os is 1280x800? whatz ur dimension defined in the flash? Also these two lines of code in your project
    this.stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
    this.stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
    Publish it in landscape and fullscreen. uncheck the autoorient while publishing.

  • Is Flash Builder a good beginner program for creation of android app?

    Hi there,
    I'm planning to create a Android app and I'm searching for the right program to do so. I have absolutly no knowledge about programming, but happen to have Flash Builder as part of the Creative Suite CS6. As I need to learn everything from the complete beginning, I'd like to pick the best program for this purpose, so I don't learn a lot of stuff not be able to achieve the product I'd like. Let me give you a example of what I will try to achieve:
    Program for Android:
    - first page of the program would be a welcome page, it would be nice to be able to put a login and password option here, but that is not neceserry.
    - second page would be a list of 14 options - books - and by clicking on each option I would open a little book (cca 30 pages).
    - this option would be nice: let's say I open the third book and stop reading on page 10 and stop/close the program - the next time I open the program it would open the program on that very 10th page of the third book
    - this option would aslo be nice: some kind of searching modul to search keywords in the book.
    Is this kind of app possible to make in Adobe Flash Builder, or would it be better to learn another program? Thanks a lot for your experiences! Hedvertel

    If you have a licence for Master Collection you should have the info about what it contains.
    A few moments on Google took me here: http://www.ecostsoftware.com/adobe/adobe-creative-suite-cs6-master-collection-mac_p5565?gc lid=CNzN5MbKmLoCFXDJtAodWDoA3w
    The included software is listed. I don't think Muse existed when CS6 was originally released.
    I didn't properly read George's answer, but I don't see Muse as a great app builder.
    I kind of don't understand at all, why you even answer, if the only thing you are saying in this disucssion is that it's too ambitious and that I'm stupid even asking.
    Saying the project is overly-ambitious is a great answer to your question. In post 5 you clearly valued that answer enough as to be giving up on the project.
    I didn't say you were stupid asking these questions, it's more a case of asking questions you should be able to answer yourself without too much trouble.
    I still think that with your current level of understanding, takling this project with no experience of any programming or web technology is overly ambitious. Start small and build on that.
    You don't say why you want to do this particular project - whether it's about learning in general or that project in particular. If it's learning in general there's nothing to stop you - there are a ton of tutorials out there. If it's for this particular project only, I would stop now.
    You need to invest a significant amount of time to learn this stuff.
    Are you on some design course? Why do you have the master collection?

  • How do I change the Version Code in the Flash Android settings Android app market?

    I recently tried to update my app in the Android app market and when I uploaded it I got the following message:
    "The new apk's versionCode (1000000) already exists."
    In the Flash Adnroid settings I changed the version label but that did not help.
    So I have two questions:
    How do I change the Version code in the Flash Android settings? I changed the version number and version label but that did not work.
    What is the difference between the version number and version label?

    I tried that but it did not work. Apparently there is a difference between the version code and version number (which is set in the Android settings). From my research the version label is optional, so there are no problems there.
    This is the what the XML file says:

      <versionNumber>1.1.0</versionNumber>
      <versionLabel>NewLayout</versionLabel>
      <filename>Name of app</filename>

  • Flex mobile 4.6 app works inside flash builder but not in android emulator

    Originally posted on stackoverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8663892/flex-mobile-4-6-app-works-inside-flash-builder- but-not-in-android-emulator
    I have a basic flex mobile 4.6 app and it works fully fine in the flash builder built-in emulator using an android device profile like aria...
    It also launches fine in the android emulator but one particular view shows blank (and this view works fine in flash builder).
    Before I get in to many details of the view are there any categorical gotchas that can be causing this?
    I can't seem to get the trace statements from the app to show in 'adb logcat'. It seems I need to compile a debug version of the apk but I don't know how to do this. I use the 'Export Release Build' from the Project menu in flash builder and it doesn't seem to have an option for debug=true.
    The problematic/blank view basically uses the stagewebview and iotashan's oauth library to call linkedin rest apis... A different (and working) view can make restful web service calls in the emulator fine, so it doesn't seem to be an internet permission.
    The source code contained in the problematic/blank view is almost identical to the tutorial found at:http://www.riagora.com/2011/01/air-and-linkedin/
    The differences are: a) The root tag is a View b) I use StageWebView instead of HtmlContainer c) I use my own linkedin key and tokens.
    I would appreciate it if someone can provide me with some pointers on how to troubleshoot this situation. Perhaps someone can tell me how to debug the app while running in the emulator (I think I need the correct adt command arguments for this which matches the 'Export Release Build' menu but adds the debug param?)
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Comment Added:
    I suspect that this has to do with connections to https:// api.linkedin.com and https:// www.linkedin.com. The only reason I can think of that the same code is not having issues inside of Flex Builder but indeed having issues in the Android emulator is something to do with certificates. Any ideas?

    Thanks er453r,
    I have created a project that clearly reproduces the bug.  Here are the steps:
    1) Create a UrlLoader and point it to https://www.google.com (HTTPS is important because http works but HTTPS does not)
    2) Load it
    3) Run in Flash Builder 4.6/Air 3.1 and then run in Android emulator.  The former works with an http status 200.  The latter gives you an ioerror 2032.  I am assuming what works in Flash Builder is supposed to work in the Android Emulator and what what works in the emulator is supposed to work in a physical device (plus or minus boundary conditions).
    I see a certificate exception in adb logcat but not sure if it's related...
    Here is the self contained View code which works with a TabbedViewNavigatorApplication:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:View xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
                        xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"

  • How to publish android app with the new AIR 2.6 ?

    Please anyone can help to instruct the correct way to install the new AIR SDK?
    I work with Flash IDE and don't know how to link them...
    And another noob question, are there any differences between "AIR Android" and "Adobe AIR 2" in publish settings when I'm going to create an android app with up-to-date AIR version? I was very confused by the scenario that as long as I upgraded to AIR2.6 SDK, "AIR Android" remains 2.5 though "Adobe AIR2" will surely be 2.6?
    Much appreciated for any help.

    To create an APK package, use the ADT package command, setting the target type to apk for release builds, apk-debug for debug builds, or apk-emulator for release-mode builds for running on an emulator.
    adt     -package
        -target apk
        -storetype pkcs12 -keystore ../codesign.p12
        myApp.apk
        myApp-app.xml
        myApp.swf icons
    Type the entire command on a single line; line breaks in the above example are only present to make it easier to read. Also, the example assumes that the path to the ADT tool is on your command-line shell’s path definition. (See Path environment variables for help.)
    You must run the command from the directory containing the application files. The application files in the example are myApp-app.xml (the application descriptor file), myApp.swf, and an icons directory.
    When you run the command as shown, ADT will prompt you for the keystore password. (The password characters you type are not displayed; just press Enter when you are done typing.)

    sharedObject.data.userName = "msmsmsmsmsmsmsm";
    sharedObject.data.age = 24;

    But I didn't find it...
    Is it my mistake?

  • Android app in Flash CS5 getting menu to pop up using actionscript

    Hi,
    anyone out there know how to get a menu to pop up in Flash CS5 when coding for an android app.
    Basically I have a nice, simple app that when you press the menu  button  on your phone I want a movie clip to pop up at the bottom of the  screen  that then acts as a menu for the app. When you press the menu  button  again the movie clip disappears. There is some code in the  sample files  in flash cs5 but it won't seem to work for me.
    Has anyone gotten this to work successfully for them.
    This is the code that is in the sample file with flash
    options_mc.visible = false;
    function fl_ExitApplication(event:MouseEvent):void
        NativeApplication.nativeApplication.exit(0);
    stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_UP, fl_OptionsMenuHandler);
    function fl_OptionsMenuHandler(event:KeyboardEvent):void
        if((event.keyCode == 95) || (event.keyCode == Keyboard.MENU))
            if(options_mc.visible == false){
                options_mc.visible = true;
                options_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ExitApplication);
            } else if(options_mc.visible == true){
                options_mc.visible = false;
                options_mc.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ExitApplication);
    This code is supposed to make the menu popup and when clicked you exit the app.
    I want someting similar to hppen without the movie clip making the app exit. My movie clip has other little buttons that make different information appear as you click on each one.
    Any advice is much appreciated. have app ready to go apart from this one little error.
    Thanks

    Ok this problem gets even weirder!! The code above kind of works. What I mean by that is in the exact same app the menu might pop up once every so often. Seriously, some times it works after I run the app for about 30 seconds and some times it doesn't work at all.
    Has anyone heard of this before? It's getting very frustrating.
    Thanks
