Publishing Flash Video directly from Encore
Hello
As I am new to this forum, I hope I found the best place for my question. I have rented a few GB's on a streaming server, becouse I plan to open a little website with dancing videos on it. I have Adobe premiere pro cs4 to cut my video and encore to build a dvd. Since the dvd menu is quite practical I would like to use encore to place exactly the same project on my servers. This is how far as i got: I changed the script file so that my flash files got uploaded to my streaming server. I loaded the index.html, flashdvd.swf and AuthoredContent.xml onto my webserver, but nothing works..... I know that my streamingserver uses Wowza software... could this be the problem? Do I need a Adobe Streaming Server???
If you want to check the files, please don't hesitate to see www.dance-tv.ch/swidako'09/index.html This is the "progressive download" version of the project, but it seems to have the same problem as the one on the streaming server.
Can anyone help please?
Thank you
Ok, so I found a way to make it work in all the standards compliant browsers (except ie 8 if that is included now). For some reason even though I changed the source of the video in the component inspector to the following location:
http://www.jasonandersonwebdesign.com/examples/abcgbi/about_us/ABC_Great_Beginnings_Commer cial.f4v
internet explorer, versions 6, 7, and 8 all give me the following error:
SecurityError: Error #2148: SWF file http://www.jasonandersonwebdesign.com/examples/abcgbi/about_us/tv_commercial_01.swf cannot access local resource C:\wamp\www\Sites\ABCGreatBeginnings\new_look\videos\ABC Great Beginnings Commercial.f4v. Only local-with-filesystem and trusted local SWF files may access local resources.

For some reason it is still trying to access the f4v file on my computer. But it only does this in IE 6, 7, and 8. Any suggestions?

Can you import video directly from a video camera ?
Can you import video directly from a video camera to the iPad 2 ? If so, what is needed?
I would say no. I have an Ipad2 with the connection kit. A recent Sony camera which works fine in imovie for my 27" imac, but nothing with the Ipad. Only thing that it finds are pictures that can be made with the same video camera. Apple wrote a note aboit probkmes with importing, but i'm very disappointed with what i have right now.

Not able to play video directly from websites like metacafe in safari browser
Hi
I recently purchased an iPhone 4S however I am not able to play videos directly from websites like metacafe.com and all others. Whereas few of my friends who bought iPhone 4S / 5 (factory unlocked) versions can very well play videos from all websites. Whenever they browse videos, it start streaming on their phones and stArt playing in QuickTime player. What is the reason of this behavior, is there something missing in my iPhone?
Thanks for your help in thisAny inputs on this will be highly appreciated...
Someone please help on this...

Is it possible to download video directly from my camcorder to my iPod?
I have a new 80GB iPod and I am aware that there is a connector that allows you to load phootos directly onto it but is there something similar that allows me to download video direct from my camcorder?
The only thing I've ever seen is this.
http://www.engadget.com/2006/04/27/bella-catapult-enables-camcorder-to-ipod-reco rding/
Expensive and I've never seen them on sale in the UK.
The issue I could see is that most dv cameras have a firewire connection and the iPod 5th gen is not firewire compatible for data transfer. -
Can you transfer hd video directly from an ipod touch to the ipad 2 and then EDIT that video in imovie? I will be on the road and wont have a mac, just an ipad 2 and ipod touch. I want to shoot video on the touch and edit it on the ipad. Thanks!
Thanks Tgara.
Its funny. So far the responses have been 50/50 on this question. I even asked two seperate Apple Store employees here in NYC, and got two different answers! One said yes, the other no.
Argh!
I know from watching the keynote speech about icloud and iOS 5 that you will be able to cut the cord between the pc and ios devices like the ipad. No more need to sync them via a cord. So will that mean i would then be able to load video directly to the ipad via tha cam kit connector from my ipod? Also i wonder if/when Apple will allow HD video from on Apple devices like a canon dslr to be able to transfer to the ipad via the cam kit connector AND be able to EDIT that footage in imovie for the ipad. Speaking of imovie for the ipad...i hope it gets an update soon as well.
Anyway....with the macbook airs getting updated next week with thunderbolt and new sandy bridge chips....i may just get one of them instead of the ipad 2 for editing video on the road. Still...i prefer surfing the web experience on the ipad. Grrrrrrr. **** youuuuuuu Apple!!! Lol -
I cannot download videos with flash video downloader from other websites also.Whenever I want to download video it says choose file.
I don't know that any Flash downloader extensions work in Firefox for Android. You would be best off asking for support from the extension authors at https://fvdmedia.userecho.com/list/21650-firefox-extensions/?category=4944

How do I move a video project from Encore to AIR via Flash Builder?
I've got a rather complex video project with lots of submenus (that works as a DVD - so it is "debugged") that I need to be able to export from Encore into an app to upload on the iTunes store and Android Market. So far, I've managed to export the project via Encore's Flash output and test the results using a web browser (it works). Everything got saved in a new folder structure with an index.html file pointing to the flashdvd.swf file pointing to the AuthoredContent.xml file that actually holds all the information on the file structure (there are 99 files in the Sources subfolder) and uses the default generated Theme.xml file.
What I need to do is to somehow import all this into Flash Builder as a project so it can become the source for the various "app" platforms. My questions are:
1. I've got Flash Builder 4.5 - do I need to upgrade to 4.7 in order to import the project or can this be done in 4.5?
2. Is there some intermediate step that I'm missing?
3. Will Flash Builder be able to repackage all these files into the file specs required by each target platform (I'm assuming it will - is that a valid assumption)?
And moving downstream a bit...
4. Since this is a video based project with over 200 megabytes of F4V content, how will the content arrive on the end user device? Will it have to be streamed or can it be downloaded? - this is a big issue should the app become popular and we be forced to maintain a streaming server somewhere. What about server sizing in such an event? For example: is there a way to estimate how much bandwidth is required per 1,000 instances?Oh, no i think i clicked Solved but it's not at all solved and i don'tt see a way to reverse it and clicked unsolved.
I'v tried reading the Manuals but still don't see the solution.
I think I've misworded my question. Perhaps i shall have to start a new question.
What i want to know is very basic.
How do i take a video i see on either youTube or another side and put it either on my iPod (i guess via iTunes) or put it into a document or an email??
Do i copy some link? Copy what exactly? Do i click and drag something?
I think if i knew how to get a video to iTunes I could be able to sync it.
But i don't know the first thing, how to get a video onto iTunes, or email, or a document.
Thank you both. -
My images are copyrighted and if for example I export the photos to a folder and then upload the photos from that photo to Facebook the Copyright stamp is there as it should be. However when I publish directly from Lightroom to Facebook the copyright is missing and I can't figure out why this is? Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you Klaus1.The large font, I copied and pasted from my mail box.I'm visually impaired...not to a huge degree but it helps to use the large font.I believe you are right about the copyright on the imac stuff but if facebook decide otherwise, you have to reply electronically to their challenge. If you can't provide a reference directly from the copyright owner then they remove the video.I believe this is a programmed response and no human is involved which now makes it impossible for me to get my video uploading restored. They detect added soundtrack automatically and then challenge. There are many others in the same boat and facebook will not communicate. They have various discussion sites on which I have left messages including Mark Zuckerbergs own facebook but I don't think anyone from facebook ever reads them.I intend to start a second facebook which I can use purely to get my videos uploaded as a lot of my friends enjoy them BUT don't want fall foul of their programming again. If only iMac would put something on the net to this effect.I think it is so unfair that with modern technology it is impossible to contact these large conglomerates personally and receive an email response.I tried emailing [email protected] but I got a failure notice. If you have any ideas on how to get verification from apple direct, I would be very grateful.Thank You.

Moving Events and archiving videos directly from Canon HF100 to External HD
Hello,
After purchasing my Macbook and my canon HF100 camcorder I got too carried away and excitedly imported too many videos to Imovie. When the Macbook had no more space to import new movies, without reading instructions ( NOW I KNOW... ALWAYS to read instructions first) I archived the videos directly onto an external HD ( 500 gb FAT 32 format).
Now in order to free up some space I tried to move the existing events and projects from macbook to the same hard drive , but the HD icon has a yellow exclamation mark, which I now know means that it has to be formatted to MAC OS. and MAcbook will not allow moving of any events or projects to the hard drive..
My problem as below:
1- If I format my external HD now, it would loose all the previous data etc which I do not want. Since the directly archived videos are stored in FAT 32, does that mean they are now unusable for I Movie import? What should I do next in order to store the currently archived movies properly that Mac recognizes and reads the data correctly?
2-I need to free up space on my macbook as soon as possible as the startup disk is totally full. I do not want to buy another external HD to move my data but i do already possess an I book external hard drive which is also Fat 32 format and has photos etc.. which I do not want to loose by formatting it.
Can I copy all the files from my external HD ( where I archived the movies) to the I book ( where there are other movies and photos from windows computer) which is FAT 32 format and then format it to MAC OS and re transfer the archived movies back. Will Macbook recognize the files then?
All the videos and photos are very precious to me and I do not want to lose them. Any help with my problem is highly appreciated. I wait eagerly for an answer. Many thanks in advance.Do I need to create a seperate folder for the RAW archived files which are yet to be processed by I >movie?
In general, you want to be able to move it back exactly as it was, you can drag it over to the iBook, then drag it back. If it helps to put everything under one folder to do this, that is OK. When you move it back, make sure it looks like it looked before you moved it.
Can the RAW files be transferred to a FAT 32 HD without formatting to MAC OS.. will this not >corrupt the data?
Probably. I'm guessing you are using an 8GB SDHC card or similar with your Canon. If you put your card in a card reader on your Mac you should see it in the Finder (or you can connect your camera directly). If you see it in the Finder, do a right-click/Get Info. I would bet that your SDHC is formatted as FAT32. So if the original camera is Fat32, you know that FAT32 is fine for the archive.
Here is why. FAT32 has an architectural limitation for file sizes. Files cannot be more than 4GB (minus one byte) - or 3.999999999 GB.
The files on the camera are highly compressed AVCHD. Further, you would typically press record and stop several times while shooting, so no one clip is going to be bigger than 3.999999999GB. The only way you would exceed this is if you recorded a 2 hour event by pressing the record button once and letting it run without stopping. Even then, Canon probably has a workaround where they divide it up into 2 files that are each smaller than 3.999999999GB.
So if the camera can accept FAT32, why can't iMovie? The reason is that on import, iMOvie converts the highly compressed AVCHD into full frames of Apple Intermediate Codec. The file size will typically increase by a factor of 8 to 10. So now it is quite possible to have a clip that exceeds the 4GB limitation. So iMovie does not allow FAT32 as a valid file structure. -

Importing a Flash Video created from a DVD file into a presentation
We have a DVD recording that we converted to various formats, including SWF, AVI and FLA/FLV. We want to use our LMS to track who has watched the video so we hoped to use a Capitvate Presentation and the SCORM feature. I created a new presentation and used the Insert Flash Video feature. The Flash object appears on the screen but it won't play neither after publishing nor will it preview in Browser. I can play it in a plain HTML file, so I'm pretty sure it's not a problem wth the FLV file itself. I also tried using the Insert Animation with the SWF version and it just hangs up Captivate and still nothing happens. Clearly I am missing some critical step for importing video and while I've scoured the forum, I just can't seem to find a solution. Any assistance would be appreciated.
What version of Captivate are you using ?

Lightroom (3.4) has always copied the .THM sidecard files when I have imported video files from my Canon 7d using a card reader. However I am on a trip and have forgotten my card reader so I have been copying directly from the camera and for some reason Lightroom is not copying the .THM sidecar files and thus I am missing all my valuable metadata such as camera, exposure, focal length, ISO, etc. associated with the video files. Very frustrating!
Any ideas? Also because I do not have a card reader I cannot grab the .thm files myself. Mac OS X (and I think Windows) just see the camera as a "device" and offer to import but do not give me direct access to the files. Maybe if there is an app that will allow me to do that when the camera is connected I can work around this for now.

Flash videos suffering from intermittent "micro-freezes" in animation
Hello, I have been having issues lately with the latest version 12.0070 flash plugin causing flash based videos to have what I call "mirco freezes" or mircostutter, where a frame in the video freezes for a like a few milliseconds every so often. I ran DTC latency checker and got in the low 100's of microseconds of latency which is normal, even with no video playback. CPU usage is at 10% or less during video playback. I have done complete uninstall of flash, including the registery entry removal and folder removal, but even with fresh install, whether it be ActiveX version for IE or the plugin version for other browsers, still has the microstutter issues during video playback. I also upated all drivers and disabled hardware acceleration. For a final test, I disabled startup items with Msconfig, but I still get the microstutters in flash videos................So here is all I know to do is post my PC info and process monitor log file in the hopes that some bright computer programmer on here can see what is going on.......
