Publishing not working

I have finished a project in Captivate 4. When I tried to Preview or Publish the file to a folder, nothing happens. Captivate just stops. It will save the file, but it will not publish it.
I don't get any errors, it just won't do anything.
Any thoughts?

I was having the same problem and found your post looking for a solution. Not finding an answer, I tried a few different things and found a solution that may work for you too.
This is how I fixed the preview problem. I created a new blank project that was the same resolution as the original project (the one I couldn't preview or publish). I then imported the slides from the orginal project to the blank project (File --> Import --> Slides/Objects). For some reason, only the first 2 of 86 slides imported. I then tried another import and deselected the first two slides to capture the remaining slides in the presentation. I was then able to preview the slides in the new project.
However, that didn't correct the publish problem. To fix the publish problem, I had to remove some of my slides. I had read on the forum that too many slides can cause publishing problems. So I saved a copy of the project and then deleted half of my slides. I was then able to publish without any problems.
Now I'll have to "daisy chain" two projects. One project will have the first half of the slides and the other will have the second half. Here are the instructions for daisy chaining projects:

I am creating simple non scoring quizzes in Captivate. When i go to publish or preview the screens never create. I am on a new computer with Win 7 64 bit OS. I still have my old computer and if i take the project file and publish there it does create. I am trying to finish setting up the new computer and this is a hurdle. any Ideas?

BI Publisher not working with Web Cache

BI Publisher not working with Web Cache
I'm trying to enable BI Publisher to run from the internet. I have Web Cache (AS10g rel 2) in an internet DMZ, trying to work with BI Publisher running on a AS10g rel 3 server in a application DMZ. BI Publisher won't allow Web Cache to hide the URL after login. It tries to use the application server name as a URL and gets lost, since this is not resolvable from the internet. We have Content DB, other J2EE application installed in this same configuration, and it works fine.
This is duty managed as of today. They required an enhancement request, which I submitted. SR 6696835.993 -

Currently an enhancement - it was logged as that but IMHO its a bug as other Oracle products work OK - it kinda depends on whether its an ORacle strd to work with webcache or not. Suffice to say, we are investigating the issue and will update the er/bug soon.

Vendor publish not working from Sourcing to ECC

Hello Experts,
When we are publishing vendor from SAP Sourcing to ECC status becomes waiting for replicated and gives no error but XML is not getting created in FTP outbound folder and due to this vendors are not being able to published from sourcing to ECC. We have checked the integration setting and these seems to be fine as RFX award publish is working fine from Sourcing to ECC which also uses the same path to integrate.
The issue is in our PRODUCTION system whereas it is working fine in Dev and TEST environment. Are we missing any setttings which generates XML?

Thanks for the response,
Scheduled Tasks are working fine for the import of materials and vendors from ECC and picking the data from the FTP folder.
But only the outbound of vendors not working, i checked in the logs but could not found any errors even in debug logs it is not generating the XML (I checked in the dev instance and while publishing it is creating XML in the logs as well).
Do we need to do any configuration to generate XML when publishing Vendor or its a standard process to do so?

Time Based Publishing - Not Working

Hello SAP KM Gurus-
I had configured Time Based Publishing to work on our clustered portal. Everything worked fine until we went to a central instance / dialog set-up. Now Time Based Publishing no longer works and I can't seem to get it to work no matter what I do. I have so far: scheduled the job on only one instance (as per the clustering guidelines in SAP Library), turned it on with properties with the repository (and for the folder I wish to use) and have checked to make sure the service is okay in KM Configuration. However, it seems like the job never comes by to hide the documents b/c they just show up for Read users no matter what I change. As I stated before, this was working fine until we went to the new configuation.
I've checked SAP Notes with no luck. Anyone have any idea why this is not working? I'm fresh out.
Any help greatly appreciated...

Thanks for your post. Yes, I have checked that. Here are my settings - I have Check Valid From assigned to one instance running on the Central Instance and Check Valid To assigned to the other instance (we have two instances on each server) as per the help docs. In component monitor, tbp is coming up green and the properties it is State-Ok. On the repositories, I have both tbp and properties assigned and when I enable tbp I can get the lifecycle tab for the documents. It appears as if everything is set up right. However, the read users can see the documents just fine when they shouldn't. It seems as if the Check Valid From and Check Valid To jobs just never run.
Is there anyway I can see if the jobs have run and what the schedule was? The tbp report also showing nothing... Does it look like I'm doing anything wrong above. I'm on EP 14/KM 14 by the way...

IWeb?? Publish not working.

I created a website using photos from my iPhoto. I used the iWeb in iPhoto. I completed the page and then "published" it. But it is not working. It says HTML not available. Am I leaving out a step? Thank you. I have an iMac G5. Can you help?

iWeb created websites used to publish to Apple's own online MobileMe personal website/web hosting server.(a forerunner to iCloud).
Some years ago, Apple first discontinued MobileMe web hosting service and sometime not too much later, discontinued the iWeb application, itself.
IWeb created sites used to publish, seamlessly, to Apple's online MobileMe web servers.
If you continue to use iWeb, you need to find other FTP web hosting/serving sites to publish your iWeb content to.
The problem is many of iWeb's design features do not publish/translate well to other web hosting/serving/FTP sites and servers making content created using iWeb difficult to for other publishing sites to translate and look the way they do on iWeb before publishing to another web serving site which will render/publish the content either close or radically different from what was, originally, creates in iWeb.
You may want to think about abandoning iWeb for other more compatible web creation/publishing tools.
I absolutely loved iWeb, but some time ago just gave up on it as no other web hosting/FTP sites could not render/publish my site the way I had it designed in iWeb.
The combination of iWeb and MobileMe was a integrated,,seamless experience, and unfortunately, didn't carry over to other more common web hosting sites.

Portal tags in Publisher - not working

Hi,
I'm using ALUI 6.1 with Publisher 6.4.
In a presentation template in Publisher I'd like to use Portal tags e.g. <pt:realmName/>, however no matter what I try the Portal tags are always just rendered out as raw html, i.e. no transformation.
Is there a switch I need to flick to get this to work?
I've tried just using one tag, with nothing else in the presentation template and it still doesn't work so I'm 95% confident it's not a error in my syntax.

It's actually a popup that's causing me the problem. I just stuck <pt:realmName/> in to the presentation template of the portlet which launches the problem page, and it works fine. So sounds like you're on the right lines with that initial suggestion.
I'll give BEA a call and see what they say.

BPC v5 publisher not working - can't locate file on server

Has anyone run across this issue with the book publisher?
I get this error message when trying to link to a report:
"Unable to open http://servername/folder/folder,etc."
The internal web site reports that the item you requested could not be found. (HTTP/1.0 404)
Is there a character limit for the string or syntax that might be a problem. That doesn't seem a possibility as we had many reports that worked fine before and could be addressed (called from the server) and now they are not located.

What version of SAP BPC are you using?
Did you check if the path is correct?
Check also the security of webfolders especially to that providing the error.

HTML5 Publish Not Working On iPad - Blank White Page

I have the most current version of Captivate 6 (6.0.1.240) and have a simple single slide project using the green theme that produced a blank white page on iPad and iPhone. I publish it clicking the SWF and HTML5 options and the multiscreen.html link works fine on my laptop (Windows 7 Pro 64 bit) in all major browsers but produces a blank white page on iPad. The iPad iOS version is 6.0.1. All the YouTube based "how to's" show it working without issue and without any special settings or setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't believe the hype that html5 will replace Flash any time soon. It's not even half baked yet, at least, not for our purposes. It's not that they don't know how to do it; they just want more milk. And, with all due respect, you must be too naive to believe anything you view on YouTube; but you may want to check this out.

I have installed BI Publisher version 11.1.1.5 in Microsoft Office 2007.The new tab named BI Publisher is coming but none of the links are working like Sample XML,Table Wizard.
Please suggest asap.

If you have upgraded several Office versions (i.e. 2000->2003->2007->2010), you might find ".EXD" files as well in following folders:
%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Forms
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp\Excel8.0
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp\VBE
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp\Word8.0
So all you have to do is:
Rename existing "MSComctlLib.exd" file to "MSComctlLib.exd_bak"
Open Word 2010
Open menu Add-Ins|Oracle BI Publisher|Log On
If you have not found any .EXD files then simply re-install your MS Office.

Calendar Publishing not working for users moved to new PO

We got the Calendar Publishing working, and it's a treat, very nice integration to our Intranet, teaming etc.
But for users that has a published calendar, and is then moved, the publishing fails!
I've set the loglevel for the Calpub to diagnostic, and I see this:

BI Publisher not working in OBIEE

Hi all,
I have installed the OBIEE on Linux.
I can log in to the OBIEE home.
But when I click on New -> Report, this URL is called:

and I get the error that a service is not available
I don't know which service is still missing.
Please help !

The problem was that some Deployments of the WebLog server were in status prepared :bioffice, bipublisher and 2 others
A start of these services made the bi publisher working

Publish not working

Nothing happens when I click the Publish button in
my WebHelp project. I am not receiving any message with statistics
stating how many topics are being published. I have not changed any
of my publish information and I've published before without any
difficulty. Any ideas or suggestions?

Something is off in the path for the Server Name in the
fourth window, "WebHelp Publish." Select it, click Edit, and verify
the correct path (making sure, of course, that you checked it to be
enabled).

Exporting and Publishing Not Working

Hello, I am a beginner and need some help.
We had a company create a Flash animation for us. They gave
me all the source files to continue to edit this animation in the
future.
I need to replace two pictures. I replaced the two pictures
(called them the exact same thing) and it appears to work within
Flash CS3 when I do a Test Movie. However, when I publish or
export, it still shows the OLD pictures. Can you please tell me
what I am doing wrong?

Hi, I'm having a similar problem. I recorded a voice over narration using the Podcast option in the opening menu of GB and selected the 'male voice'. After recording it and testing that it was okay, I did what I have done before and that was to go to the 'share' option in the top menu. From there I sent it to iTunes. After that, I tried to convert it to an mpeg which is now called an ACC I believe. I did that but the file extension came up as m4a and wouldn't go into Final Cut Pro when I tried to import it from my iTunes music folder. I also got a message saying it was 'unsupported file,' or '8 bit' and I know the setting should be 16 bit but I don't know how to adjust this. I have worked with GB and iTunes in the past for narration and didn't have any problem. This is the first time I've even seen such a file extension as m4a. Please help. We have to finish a trailer for a film festival by tomorrow. Thanks!

What is the error message (e.g. 5566 error) from IE browser, and ULS log?
