Purchasing problem (caused by new Terms of Use)

OK, I'm new, and I should just try here because that other support option is no help. I updated to the new iTunes, tried purchasing a song (with my $1.24), and I saw that they had a new article of terms of use. Accepted, tried re-downloading, but the problem was, they took my 99 cents. Cant repurchase because my credit card is declined. Can't check for purchases because it doesn't show. WHAT GIVES?

Here's what others have done successfully to work around that problem: In your Web browser, go to Photoshop.com and log in.  You should be asked to accept the Terms Of Use.  Once you have, then you won't have any issue with accessing Photoshop.com from PSE.

  • Problems creating a new folder when using webmail

    Hi, has anyone else out there encountered problems when trying to create a new folder when using webmail ?
    It just seems to create a new folder called 'New Folder' and misses out the step that would normally allow you to rename it to a title of your choice.
    A whole list of folders called 'New Folder' is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike.
    It did used to work as I've used it many times in the past.....but then so did a lot of things before the 'new' and 'improved' version of BT Mail came along.
    Any help or suggestions gratefully received (apart from the obvious solution, switch to a mail client).
    Maybe it needs flagging to the 'techies'......they must be really busy trying to sort out all the so called teething problems.

    What should happen is that when you click on the + for add a new folder a box should appear, somewhere amongst the folder list. (The list is in alphabetical order so if you have a number of folders previous to the letter N it maybe out of view ) .
    The box will have the text " New folder-X," ( see below for the explantion for the -X ) you then delete the text, type in the name you want, hit enter and there it is.
    If you don't notice the box, possibly because it's off screen further down the list, you then open and close the list, or log out the next time you view the list it, or they, are simply named New folder.
    So you now have umpteen " New folders ", here's how to rename them.
    Place your cursor on the word New Folder in your folder list, you will see a little box appear with" New folder-X,"  x being the number of the new folders you have created., eg -0, -1, -2 etc.
    Then double click on it, you should then get a larger box with New folder-X.
    Delete the text in the box, type in the name you want for the new folder, hit enter there's you newly named folder.

  • Ramifications of new terms of use

    I have read through the new Business Catalyst Terms of Use and do not fully understand the ramifications of the changes. On the surface, it sounds like a very big change for BC partners.
    Firstly, the terms of use state that I am bound by the laws of Ireland (even if I signed up in Australia). It is no coincidence that Ireland has just passed a SOPA style legislation.
    Secondly, from my understanding, partners are responsible for the copyright and privacy compliance of every website that they resell.
    Hypothetically... if my client posts an image which they found on the internet and they didn't have permission to use and that image needed to be removed: would the partner be responsible for policing that content and ensuring that the client removes the image? Is there a possibility of litigation for partners in regards to their client's sites?
    How do I practically ensure that clients are not breaching copyright laws? Do I just do it 'case by case' ie: just wait until I receive a take down notice for an offending item (from BC) and then contact the client and ask them to remove it?
    I look forward to further information about these changes. Are other partners feeling a little nervous about this issues?

    Overall I read most of the TOU as standard TOU. You mention being bound by the laws of Ireland, that is for users outside the US (which it sounds like you are one of them). If you are inside the US you are bound US Law. I am not familiar with the law Ireland passed so I cannot comment on that. (But I am curious of why are non-US partners are bound by Ireland law?)
    You mention the copyright and privacy compliance on the websites you resell. The TOU States:
    5. Partner Obligations.
               Without limiting any obligations imposed by this Agreement, if you are a Partner, you understand and agree that:
               (a) If Adobe provides notice to you that a website hosted through the Services on behalf of your Client is alleged to contain material that infringes upon the copyright of a third party, you will work with                your Client in accordance with Section 17 of the General Terms (Notification of Copyright Infringement) to, within five (5) days of receipt of such notice, either: (a) remove the allegedly infringing                material from the website and provide Adobe with written confirmation of such removal; or (b) provide Adobe with a written counter notification consistent with Section 17 of the General Terms. You                agree that Adobe may remove allegedly infringing material if Adobe does not receive a written confirmation of removal or counter notification within five (5) days of your receipt of such notice.
               (b) It is solely your responsibility to ascertain and obey all applicable local, state, federal and international laws and rules in regard to the use and resale of the Services.
               (c) You are responsible for your Clients’ compliance with applicable laws in connection with their use of the Services.

    I believe part of this is simply stating that you will follow all applicable laws, some of this is Adobe making sure they cover their end. Also as for removing "infringing content" it reads that you must remove the content once Adobe provides notice that "your Client is alleged to contain material that infringes upon the copyright of a third party." I do not believe that means you must police your sites that you are reselling. With that said I believe you should be proactive and if you notice a Client clearly using infringing content speak to the Client and remove the content.
    This is just my take on things and I will state I am not a lawyer nor is what I said legal advice and I could very well be incorrect in my assessment. It would be nice if someone from the Adobe Legal Department could comment and clarify some things here.

  • Problem creating a new row when using tabbed regions

    I am new to JHeadstart and ADF and have been using the evaluation version of JHeadstart (in JDev 11.1.1.3) to judge its efficacy for a new significantly-sized application. As part of that evaluation I have created a small application (you can do this with HR schema using say the Departments table) with a single entity and VO. On JHeadstart I have then placed some of the fields into multiple Item regions within a Tabbed region on the same page and below the Group (layout style Table, Table Overflow Style below With Splitter). Existing rows display fine and I can view the data on the separate tabs.
    However, if I try to create a row, I can fill in the data on the main region, but if I fill in data on the first tabbed region I cannot switch to the next tab without an error being generated.
    e.g. using Departments - fill in DepartmentId and DepartmentName on main region, fill in ManagerId on first tabbed region and try to switch to second tabbed region to fill in LocationId:

    Attribute DepartmentId in HRModule.DepartmentsView1 is required.
    Attribute DepartmentName in HRModule.DepartmentsView1 is required.
    If you save, then you can navigate.
    You can also demonstrate something similar (different error message but probably the same root cause) on the myJHSTutorial demo. If you navigate to an employee off the regions page and try and create a new employee (using the '+' button below the 'Employees' label), then the tabs are not refreshed and any attempt to change the tabs results in an error

    OK, I was able to reproduce this. The problem is that when you switch tabs, a partial page request is send to the server which does not include the items filled in the table row itself, hence these items are not updated in the underlying view object row.
    Solution is to have a partial trigger at the table or group level listening to tab events. We will add that to the next release, but you can also apply the fix yourself by adding the following lines to the stackedRegionContainer.vm template:

  • Problems with installing new hard drive using time machine

    Hi,
    I have a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 15" Macbook Pro (unibody) with 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 and a 250 GB Sata HD running OS 10.6.7.
    It works like a dream.
    However, i bought a new 1 TB HD (WD Scorpio Blue) since a) 250 GB is not enough for me right now b) warranty has expired, so new risk there and c) i read that installing it would be very easy.
    I'll try so explain what i did, see if anyone finds what could be wrong...
    I had some minor problem in the beginning (i didn't use the install disk of the macbook pro at first, because it was at the office, so i used the install disk of my old Alu iMac), but using the right disk, i opened "Restore Disk from Backup", selected the Time Machine disk, and waited for the target drive to appear. It didn't...
    Finally i figured, maybe he doesn't find it because it hasn't been formatted yet (although it says on the HD that the Scorpio Blue is ready to use as is). So i openen disk utility from the utility folder and formatted the disk as "OS Journaled". As expected (?) the disk appeared as a target Restore Disk. I selected it and "restore" started. It took some hours and finally i receive a message: restore complete (or something like that). But then... after the restart i say the apple logo (as always) followed by the 'i don't know how you call it'-screen: a grey screen coming down like a curtain that says something like: you have to hold down the power button and then press it again tot restart (in a dozen or so languages including mandarin or japanese...). Off course i tried to restart several times, always with the same result.
    I switched back to my old drive and it still works like a dream ;-)
    So now i'm typing this message, can someone point out to me what could be the problem?
    Some more information/possible causes:
    - i run snow leopard, but the install disk is leopard. Maybe i should have used the install disk of the Snow Leopard i bought?
    - the time machine backup backs up EVERYTHING including an external firewire disk (on the same disk). Maybe that could be a problem? I don't know if the backup disk will restore the content of my external disk to my new internal HD or not...

    Hold on... it seems like i missed the obvious answer: using snow leopard to re-install a snow leopard back up. I'll try that one first and if it doesn't work i'll come back to this discussion...

  • One old problem causing 2 new ones

    Before you get into the meat of this post let me say that part of my job involves some pretty high security and I also am always on call. I have skype accounts with just 1 contact in them specifically for when I do not want to be found in my off time. That should make the rest of this post and why I am mad as H-- about all this a bit more understandable.
    A month ago I got my first smartphone, a Galaxy s4 and my primary reason for this is because I have family in Australia and friends in London. I don't have the time to game or use a phone for much other than using it as a phone and 98% of the apps it came with I will never have a use for so I didnt need a big powerful phone with all the toys and software. For the first few days everything was fine.  I had heard about some of the problems others have had with smartphones and now everything that made me wait to get a smartphone is happening to me.
    The history started piling up. Now on my pc's I'm one of these that removes history every day sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. I have no use for it and do not want it on any of my devices and see no purpose for saving it. THAT's WHY IT's History. Over, done with old news.
    So I follow all the links in here and have the same issues everyone else is having. So I decide to uninstall it permanently. NOW I show up online constantly as If i am logged in somewhere and nothing I do seems to make any difference. I cant even clear it up by logging into any of my pc's So I reinstall the app, theres no place to log out. Theres also no way to log out and sign in with a different account, it only wants to ADD another account. I DO NOT WANT ONE ACCOUNT INFORMATION SHARED WITH THE OTHER.
    I had this same problem with twitter and facebook and some other social sites and google as well.  I have social pages that are work related and i have ones for my personal life and I also have a few others for some of the games I run. Everything in this phone (and windows 8 as well) wants to share everything these days and the problem is it creates account issues and other problems. Sharing anything should be an option not a must do.
    So far 97% of the things I bought this phone for I cannot use because of sharing and history issues.
    I shouldnt have to have one phone for work, one phone for my personal life.. As for skype it seems ever since microsoft got involved with skype its been an endless mess of problems one after another.  I am having the same sharing issues with windows 8, which is why I went back to windows 7. And google is just as bad.
    There should be a history button. There should be a logout/login function. Skype SHOULD have the same functionality that it has on a pc device. and no I dont want to share my contacts from account to account or social media to social media all for the same reasons. Work is work, and home time is hometime. merging everything into the same app creates setting and login issues and it completely killed my twitter account and merged it with my work account. Besides I have 5 skype accounts specifically for this reason. To keep work separate from personal time.
    There is a such thing as too much sharing. But the droid version of skype is a disater. I had really hoped for something better for all i pay for this but I am ready to go back to a normal phone and everyone will just have to wait til i get home on my PC to be able to do things in a normal way. Becauee of my job I cannot take the security risks of even accidently merging my work account with my personal ones. A user should be able to manage software on any device as needed not the other way around. I own the device, it does not own me and i should be able to run it as i need to.
    This is also the same complaints I hear from other people as well. Small wonder apple is breaking sales records.
    Anyway how do I get my account back to normal so that if im logged in its green and if im not its white like normal? YELLOW AWAY MODE IS NOT AN OPTION BECAUSE OF MY WORK! and how can i actually "log out" and still use the rest of this phone? how do i permantently remove history without having to hold each contact down and why don't it have a checkbox to not save history at all?
    I'll be waiting for answers and thanks. I really hope some devs read this. this app is un-useable for me the way it is.
    Edit: oh yeah and while I am at it before someone askes, yes I did try a full system restore to defaults on my phone .....3 times to be exact.
    Nothing makes any difference.
    Another edit: it would make a lot more sense, not only in skype but several other apps and social media as well to have a button to "save this conversation to a file" and have it not save anything by default unless you checkd a box to do so all the time. but then again that would be normal logic, which is something that seems to be elusive to software manufacturers these days.

    you CAN sign out -- on just about any 'main' screen (Recent, Favorites, or Peole), tap the context menu button to see "Sign out"
    you CANNOT delete your chat history (some weeks worth are held automatically server-side and they are deleted automatically as they age) -- so don't leave yourself signed in if you are worried about prying eyes, and don't set Skype to sign in automatically
    also, see the Settings section labeled Contacts to see how Skype can interact with the contact list of your phone . . . or not

    Help please. I updated, and an error occured and wiped my touch of music and 1.1.3 apps. i did a restore but it diddent restore the apps. Its syncing now. But how do i get my apps back?

    Is it set to auto-sync?

    The iPod touch January Software Upgrade can only be synced to iPod touch from the primary iTunes library. If the user is manually managing music and video on iPod, this is the computer where they first set up the iPod or first set it up after restoring the iPod. The "iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa" file can be copied from the computer where you purchased it to your primary iTunes library computer, and sync the iPod from there.

    Once you have copied the "iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa" file to the computer with your home library, make a new folder named Mobile Applications in the correct location, and place the "iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa" file there. Open iTunes and sync your iPod touch.

    Can you remember what the permissions problem was that you had before? You may need to reinstall OS X from scratch and not reinstall anything from your Time Machine backups. To be on the safe side you should reinstall all third-party applications from scratch, as well. Then only restore from your backup your document/data files.

  • Problem with iTunes. I have Windows 8 on a new laptop. Installed latest version of iTunes. Can play music in My Library but when I click on Itunes Store I get the message "iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    This works for some users. Not sure why.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

    Try to clear the Google cookies and redo those Google options.
