Purging Application server cache in 8.43

Hi,
how to purge Application server cache in 8.43 ?
Thank you.

I never encountered any kind of issue by removing the CACHE directory.
I just tested it out on an old PT version (8.22) as well as more recent (PT8.48), and the CACHE directory is recreated on the appserver startup.
And not only on appserver start, but the application server itself recreate this folder when it is needed if in any case you dropped the folder online - when the appserver is already started and not bounced.
Nicolas.

  • Purge Presentation Server Cache

Hello, I need to purge the user presentation server cache everytime a particular request is refreshed.... is there any way to achieve this?
    Thanks so!

If you have the Usage Tracking and Event Polling Tables setup you could have add a trigger on the Usage Tracking table that fires only for your particular request and inserts a row in the Event Polling Table so that the BI Server purges the cache. Have a look at the Server Administration Guide on how to setup the Usage Tracking and Event Polling Tables.

  • Password cache - for user identity that share the same application server

I have different user identity that share the same application server passwords.
When I create a password cache entry for an an application server I have to be specified the User identity for the application server. Is there a way to indicate multiple User identity in order to avoid to create different entry (one for each user identity)?

No. An SGD user can only have a single username for an application server.
There may be a way to craft a solution:
    - create several ENS application server objects pointing to the same real application server
    - cache different usernames against each ENS application server
    - create multiple, identical application objects, assigning a different application server to each, OR
    - create a single application object and assign all the ENS servers to it, along with the "SGD Broker" for dynamic launch.

  • Regarding Application server file path

    Hi All,
please explain the process how to create logical file path in FILE t-code.

    Hi,
    logical file path
The (platform-independent) logical file path is evaluated at runtime to get the (platform-dependent) physical path (see Assignment of Physical Paths to Logical Path).
    Two examples of this are:
    · Logical file path: BW_OLAP_CACHE
    Name: BW OLAP Cache
    · Logical file path: BW_OLAP_CACHE_SPAN
Name: BW OLAP cache cross-application server
Assignment of Physical Paths to Logical Path
At runtime, the physical path assigned for the corresponding operating system platform is generated from the logical file path.
Since the physical path is platform-dependent, the customer must set it her/himself. The closer the file is to the application server or, with the cross-application server cache mode, to the application server, the faster it can be found and read.
    Log(ical) path: BW_OLAP_CACHE
    Name: BW OLAP Cache
Syntax group: UNIX (all Unix platforms)
Phys(ical) path: /usr/ (Syntax group WINDOWS NT)
In a heterogeneous system landscape (such as UNIX and Windows NT servers) all system-specific syntax groups must be maintained. Ensure that the definitions for the various syntax groups point to the same directory.

  • Application Server - Always needs reboot after application update?

    Hi,
Every time I release a WPF application (4.5) via copy-paste assemblies) onto a dedicated application server -note I am not updating the version number of the exe or anything special) and override the executable already present in the server, my
end-users do not see the new application changes. I am having to restart the app-server so the server can "see" the latest exe.
Is this some sort of caching issue with "exes"? That the application server caches it and then instead of picking up the newly update exe it picks up the old one from some "cache"? Note that restarting the "client" machine does
not solve the issue, only restarting the server does. If so, how can I clear this "cache"?
    Thanks,
    -Alejandro

  • Oracle Application Server 10g Java Object Cache

    Hi,
I am new to Java and looking for a java caching framework and just came across Oracle Application Server 10g Java Object Cache. I am unable to find 11g version of the same. Is it not supported any more?
Can I use this with weblogic server? Please suggest if any other alternatives.
    Thanks,
    Manoj

    Bump.
I definitely don't see the same file: C:\dev\jdevstudio10134\javacache\lib\cache.jar in the Oracle JDEV tree. Is there a suggested alternative?

  • How to disable Jar cache on Application Server

    Hello,
I am now developing a Webdynpro Project in the following enviroment:
    Windows 2003 Server 64Bit SP2
    JDK 5.0 Update 12
    Windows x64 Platform
info at sun Installation Notes , Supported System Configurations
    C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_12
NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 (Application Server Java)
Since I need always change my code wiin a jar file and upload it as a library.
The default behavior of Application Server is to support java cache locally in JVM. That brings me many problems  (Like can't find new implemented class by dynamical class loader,  ref. http://www.szegedi.org/articles/remotejars.html )
It there any way to disable JAVA cache on the Application Server?
Besides, someone told spawning a new JVM for loading the jar may also work. Does our AS support spawning JVM explicitly?

I also want to know if it is possible to disable the cache on server. In my situation, we are deploying the par file (portlet archive) to development server. Could anybody please help?

  • Application Server 4.0 caching the Java Servlet Program

    Hi all,
I am working with Oracle8i databse and Oracle Application Server 4.0. Now I need to develop some Java Servlet's Program. I successful configure the server and my Servlet program can connect to the Oracle database.
However, when I make some modification to the program and recompile it. The browser cannot refresh to the modified program. This mean that the content is't update. I think the reason may be the previous program is cached in server.
Later, I discover using the 'owsctl' utility to reload the application server can solve this problem. However, it is quite inconvenience and not favour to reloasd the server very frequently. And I guess there may have some configuration parameters in the 'OAS Manager' can help me to solve my problem.
So, anyone can tell me how to solve this problem? Thank you very much.
    Regards

OAS 4.0.8.1 supports servlets. You need a patch if you implement extra path info feature of servlets. In addition, you have to bounce OAS everytime you upload new servlets. This behavior does not follow the Servlet spec and I don't know when Oracle will fix it. It is a big problem for sites trying to run 24x7.

  • Caching on ejb container using Oracle 9i Application server

    Hi,
can we cache on the ejb container in Oracle application server ?
if so, whats the methodology ?
    Regards,
    Murali

Can you explain exactly what you want to cache? The complete container: no makes no sences. Objects in the container, makes sences but in case of CMP the entites are already cached.
Can you provide more information what you want to achieve?

  • Caching the web pages using an application server...Please help

    Hi all.
I have an application developed using Struts 1.1 which uses JBoss 4.0.2 as an application server.
In this application user is required to enter a valid url and my application fetches the web page pointed by this url
and render the same after doing some pre-processing.
I want to implement caching of pages on server so that if a different user requests with the same url that was earlier issued, that time my application should render the web page that was cached earlier. (so that i can avoid connecting to that url, fetching the page and further pre-processing).
One of the way i know is to use "application" object, which can be shared among multiple users.
Are there any other efficient ways ? What about the performance if i use application object ?
Please help as i am stuck with this.
    Thank you all..
    Prasad

Using the application scope is one way to do it.
I would recommend writing a CacheControl bean to handle this for you (or re-using an existing cache object)
You can put that bean into the application scope. Just to keep things neat and tidy.
How that bean then caches web pages is up to you
    - Store them in memory (I would recommend a LinkedHashMap in LRU mode)
    - Store them to disk - less memory intensive, a bit slower but can store more
How are you going to determine if a page is "the same"?
I think you should also consider the "no-cache" tags that a page may send with itself.
Caching can drive web application drivers nuts, as the page actually DOES change on every request.
    Cheers,

  • Application Server Administration Service Timer Job stuck at Initialized 0% . Config Cache clear doesnt Help.MOSS2007

    Hi All,
One of my WFE/Query server for MOSS is showing Application Server Administration Service Timer Job  stuck at Initialized  0% in CA timer Job status.
In timer Job Status in CA under the SSP Job Control service I find the Application Server Administration Service Timer Job  struck at 0%
I have tried Clearing config cache of the Farm . I have tried disconnecting this server from Farm and reconnecting it with Psconfig UI, I have tried running Psconfig.exe on the affected server. But even after doing this service is stuck at 0%
If I exit the OWSTimer.exe from task manager, it shows aborted at 0% . I am using a single SSP and reconfiguring SSP is not an option right now.
Any help regarding it will be greatly appreciated.

  • Install PeopleTools 8.53 with Linux Issue: Boot Application Server Domain PT853 using psadmin

    Folks,
Hello. I am installing PeopleTools 8.53 Internet Architecture. Database Server is Oracle Database 11gR1. OS is Oracle Linux 5.
I confront the issue regarding booting Application Server Domain PT853 while Database Server is listening as below:
    [user@userlinux PT8.53]$ . ./psconfig.sh
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export SYSTEM_PASS=SYS/SYS
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export ORACLE_HOME=/home/user/OracleDB_Home
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export  ORACLE_SID=PT853
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export TUXDIR=/home/user/Oracle/Middleware/tuxedo11gR1
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$TUXDIR/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ export PATH=$TUXDIR/bin:$PATH
    [user@userlinux appserv]$ ./psadmin
Its output gets 2 errors in the current server log file /home/user/psft/pt/8.53/appserv/PT853/LOGS/APPSRV_0919.LOG as below:
First, GenMessageBox(200, 0, M): PS General SQL Routines: Missing or invalid version of SQL library libpsora64 (200,0)
Second, GenMessageBox(0, 0, M): Database Signon: Could not sign on to database PT853 with user PSADMIN.
I create a symlink in /home/user/OracleDB_Home/lib and /lib32 as below:
    [user@userlinux lib]$ ln -s libclntsh.so.11.1 libclntsh.so.8.0
    [user@userlinux lib32]$ ln -s libclntsh.so.11.1 libclntsh.so.8.0
After that, I run ./psadmin to boot the domain PT853 again, I see the first error is solved. Now, there is only one error in the current server log file /home/user/psft/pt/8.53/appserv/PT853/LOGS/APPSRV_0924.LOG is below:
GenMessageBox(0, 0, M): Database Signon: Invalid user ID or password for database signon. (id=MyOwnerName)
    Server failed to start
I have changed UserId as PSADMIN in Configuration file, purge cache and clean IPC resources and reboot. Password is correct. But the error always indicates id=MyOwnerName.
Application Designer login as PSADMIN successfully. Data Mover Bootstrap login as MyOwnerName successfully.
    My question is:
Why both PSADMIN and MyOwnerName are invalid user ID or password for database signon ? How to solve the issue ?
    Thanks.

As stated in the installation manual there are a few prerequisites in chapter CHAPTER 8B Configuring the Application Server on UNIX page 238
    Prerequisites
Before beginning this procedure, you should have completed the following tasks:
    Installed your application server.
See "Using the PeopleSoft Installer," Understanding PeopleSoft Servers
    Installed Tuxedo 11gR1
         See "Installing Additional Components."
Granted authorization to a PeopleSoft user ID to start the application server.
The database configuration procedure includes a step for setting up the user ID with authorization to start
the application server. See the application-specific installation instructions for information on the user IDs
for your PeopleSoft application. See the PeopleTools: Security Administration product documentation
for information on PeopleSoft PeopleTools delivered user profiles.
See "Creating a Database on UNIX," Running the Database Configuration Wizard.
See "Creating a Database Manually <on Windows or UNIX>," Creating Data Mover Import Scripts.
Run the following SQL statements on your database server to review and if needed, update the PSCLASSDEFN table:
         SELECT CLASSID, STARTAPPSERVER FROM PSCLASSDEFN
         WHERE CLASSID IN (SELECT OPRCLASS FROM PSOPRCLS WHERE OPRID='<OPRID>');
         UPDATE PSCLASSDEFN SET STARTAPPSERVER=1 WHERE CLASSID='<CLASSID>';
Note. Installers typically use VP1 or PS to test the application server. If these users are deleted or their
passwords are changed, the application server will no longer be available. To avoid this problem, you can set
up a new operator (called PSADMIN or PSASID, for instance) with privileges to start the application server.
If you do this, you can use the new operator for your servers and you won't need to change the
password each time VP1 or PS is changed.
Does you user have privileges to start the applications server.
Also pay attention to the connectid configuration in the application server. This should be the same connectid and password as you provided during the database creation script connect.sql

Thanks for getting back to me! I think you are right in that this would be a question more geared toward to the Peoplesoft folks. The post is there, so thank you for that. However, you noted a key observation that led me to want to investigate more. If we look at a past post that speaks to your observation (ORACLE Initialization or shutdown in progress I believe it gave me more clues to go by. I do shared the same thought as the poster in that, the DB should have started as the service started for the DB as already. At any rate, I ran the instructed command in SQL, I got this script:
