Purpose of advanced properties in sender mail adapter

helo all.
hi i just wanna know the usage of
delete messages once read
generate fetch report
security parameters SMIME
Default XI parameters
                   under sender mail adapter.
waiting for your great response.
bye.
regards.
seeta ram.

hi,
<i>delete messages once read</i>
If you have selected IMAP4 as the transport protocol, you can specify here whether the messages are to be deleted on the e-mail server after reading.
You can then specify a Folder for Deleted Messages on the server.
<i>generate fetch report</i>
If you want to generate a report for every adapter poll procedure, set the indicator.
An XI message with the following information is generated:
Interface namespace: http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30
Interface Name: FetchReport
<i>security parameters SMIME</i>
If you want to decrypt and validate encrypted and digitally signed e-mails in the corresponding sender agreement in the Integration Server or in the PCK, set the S/MIME indicator.
refer this for the same and more info

  • Email attachment name in sender mail adapter to the receiver file adapter

    HI ,
Ths is regarding email to file scenario. I am trying to create file (in rceiver file adapter) with the same name as the email attachment that i read from mail sender adapter. I want ro use adapter module for this. I could find from blogs that there is module - GetAttachmentName - available that i can use for this in sender mail adapter.
Can you please let me know what whetehr i neeed to mention any module key and parameters for this.
I assume , i need to do following steps :Please confirm.
    1. i can use this module - after payload swap module and before standard mail adapter module in sender mail adapter
    2. select ASMA option in advanced tab in sender mail adapter
    3. In receiver file adapter select ASMA option in advanced tab in sender mail adapter
    4. Also select file name option in ASMA in sender mail adapter
    Thanks,
    Vamsi

    Hi Vamsi,
your scenario is also described here: Re: sender mail adapter - attachment name
If you use the Module getAttachmentName, which is described here,
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/AdapterModulePI7.0GetAttachmentName
your scenario should work as you described it.
You just need to make sure that the Attachment Name that you read in the first place, is mapped to the Filename Attribute of the
    Fileadapter (http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File/FileName).

  • Security requirements on sender mail adapter

I have set up a sender mail adapter to fetch the email with attachment from MS exchange mail server. The sender mail adapter can process the attachment well and convert it to XML format. Now I have a new requirement to determine if the email comes from a particular user. I can see the FROM field in the payload "MailMessage" But I don't know how to get the value of this field. Any idea on how to set up the message mapping? Thanks in advance.

Before the sender mail adapter processes the attachment in the email, it need to determine the email is actaully from the business user not someone else on server. Cuz everyone can send email to the email address the mail adapter connects to, that is why this security issue comes from.
Basically when you fetch a email with attachment, in Sxi_monitor, you can see two field in the payload, One is MailMessage and the other is MailAttachment-1. In the MailMessage, you can see all the emial header fields, such as From, To, Subject, Content etc. I need to check if the FROM field is email address we allowed. That is basic requirements. Let me knwo if you want me to explain it further.

  • Sender Mail Adapter

    Hi,
I am working on Sender Mail Adapter. I have done the total configuration but unable to sucess the scenarios. In the CC monitoring, it is saying that "Not Intialised" Even though i send and receive the messages from My Lotus Notes Inbox. I activated all the objects.
I have done the following examples:
    Transport Protocal: POP3
    Message Protocal: XIALL
Given the URL and UserId and PWD also
    Poll Intevel: 1 (Mins)
    Adapter Status: Active
Please help to me solve this problem. I already raised the one more thread today but didn't get solutions.
<b>Note: Do i need to do any setting from the Lotus notes(Mail Server) to diver my messages.</b>
    Thanks in Advance,
<b>I found the problem with SMTP Address. Can i use the SMTP Url for POP3 or IMP4 protocal. Is there any thing else because if i use the Same SMTP Address, it is giving exception</b>

    Hi Gangisetty,
SMTP is the out going server(for sending mails out) while POP3 is the in coming(receiving mails) server. So for a sender channel, you need to use the POP server details not SMTP.

  • Sender Mail Adapter Configuration - Process Multiple Attachments

    Dear sirs,
I need to process several attachments at the same mail message as individual payloads.
In default configuration of sender mail adapter only the body of message is used as payload.
So I added PayloadSwapBean Module at Processing Sequence and it processed the attachment I set in Module Configuration.  I'm not able to process all attachments available, just one attachment is sent to PI pipeline.
How can I process all attachments of a single mail message?
    Thank you in advance.

  • Error when using Variable Transport Binding in Sender Mail Adapter

    Hi,
I am using the Sender Mail Adapter to receive an email, convert the attached tab delimited text file into xml and map it to an IDOC.
I am using PayloadSwapBean and MessageTransformBean in order to do this, and this all works perfectly.
I am now trying to access the Adapter Specific Message Attributes to retrieve the SHeaderFROM attribute from the message and map it to a field in the idoc.
However when I check the "Variable Transport Binding" option in the Advanced tab of the mail adapter, the message no longer goes through to SXMB_MONI and I get the following error in the Java logs.
Transmitting the message to endpoint http://sapserver:53500/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection AFW failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Received HTTP response code 500 : Error during parsing of SOAP header.
Any ideas why this is happening?
    Thanks,
    Brad

    Hi Luciana,
Honestly, I cant really remember how or if it was resolved and I was just helping out on the issue, but another consultant continued with it, so unfortunately I cant be any help on this.
    Good luck!

  • Non XML attachment to XML in sender mail adapter

    Hi,
I am working with sender mail adapter and usng payloadswapbean. My attachment is non XML and I need to convert it in to XML in order to mapping. How can I do that? Can someone explain if can I use MessageTransformBean for this purpose and if so, how?
Or any other method for doing this?
    Thanks,
    Rakesh

Is the attachment in text format? If yes, then after the usage of PayloadSwapBean, you may try using MessageTransformBean in the same module chain. And you will be able to convert it into xml format.

  • Sender mail adapter : no messages and no error log

    Hello,
I have configured a sender mail adapter to read mails from the inbox. I have used IMAP protocol. URL is specified as imap://EMHBSEXM01/Inbox. User name and password is also specified properly. I have kept poll interval to 1 minute. Messages in the inbox are in unread status. But the mail is not getting processed. I do not see anything after 1 minute. I tried using generate fetch report flag. But even then it does not create any message in SXMB_MONI. I checked runtime workbench for Mail adapter but I do not see any message for the same. Is there something that I am missing?
    Thanks,

Does anyone have any idea what this error is?

  • Sender Mail adapter get no mails

    Hello,
we are using the sender mail adapter to receive mails (IDOCS) from a Exchange server.
A few days it works, but suddenly no mails are received.
But in RWB the mail adapter status is green and shows, that there are no new mails. But when I check the mail box with OUTLOOK, there are some mails.
When I deactivate and activate the mail adapter, all mails are read then.
    Pollinterval: 1 minute
    XI: SP10
Who can help me are had s similar problem?
Or is it possible to stop/start the mail adapter (or the adapter engine) automaitcally (more like a workarround)
    best regards

    HI,
    1)Try to do with POP3
2)Check the URL , give correct Exchange Server Name/IP address.
    3) Hope you have access to read the inbox (sometimes it will not be there)
    Than try it.

  • Sender Mail Adapter Attachment

    Hi All
The mail I get from the 3rd party has a body and attachment. I have done the TRANSORM module as described in some of the forums, and then the Plain2XML.
On sxmb_moni I see the MailMessage and MailAttachment-1, where the MailMessage is in XML format and MailAttachment in normal text. What should I do to completely ignore the MailMessage(body of the mail) and just send MailAttachment to the receiver.
I have tried to split the message to two receivers, but because the attachment message does not transform to xml, it gives me a mapping error. Is there anyway I can either ignore the body and just send the attachment to the receiver without doing JAVA code.
    Thanks in advance
    Clinton

    Hi Jin
    Thanks for your answer.
This is how I am using the module within the Sender Mail Adapter.
    localejbs/AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean           TRANSFORM
    localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean     Plain2XML
    TRANSFORM     swap.keyName     Content-Description
    TRANSFORM     swap.keyName     Content-Disposition
    TRANSFORM     swap.keyValue     attachment;filename="MailAttachment-1.xml"
    TRANSFORM     swap.keyValue     MailAttachment-1.xml
    Plain2XML     Transform.Class          com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.Conversion
    Plain2XML     Transform.ContentType     text/xml;charset=utf-8
    Plain2XML     xml.conversionType     SimplePlain2XML
    Plain2XML     xml.documentName     MT_TEBA_Contractor_Details
    Plain2XML     xml.documentNamespace     http://lonmin.co.za/TEBA_to_SAP
    Plain2XML     xml.fieldNames          ENG_TYPE,INDUST_NO,COMPANY_NUMBER,SURNAME,INITIALS,NAME,REGISTERED,MALE,EXPERIENCE,RACE,MARITAL,DEPENDENTS,BIRTH_DATE,LANGUAGE,EDUCATION,SPOUSE,RELIGION,OFFICE,SERIAL_NO,REG_YEAR,SERV_START,SERV_EXPIRE,SERV_PER,LAST_CHANGE_DATE,LAST_CHNAGE_TIME,ID_DOC,ID_EFF_DATE,ID_EXP_DATE,PASSPORT,PASS_EFF_DATE,PASS_EXP_DATE,COUNTRY,DISTRICT,ADDR1,ADDR2,ADDR3,POSTCODE,PHONE,BI_1733_NO,REASON
    Plain2XML     xml.fieldSeparator     |
    Plain2XML     xml.processFieldNames     fromConfiguration
    Plain2XML     xml.structureTitle     Details
Using it like this it does not do the swap correct and it still put the data within the body as xml, and leave the attachment as txt.
Can you see something wrong here.
    Thanks
    Clinton

  • Sender Mail Adapter problem

    Hi,
I am having problems to get my sender mail adapter running.
I configured it with the following parameters:
    <i>Transport protocol: POP3
    Message Protocol: XIALL
    Adapter Engine: Integration Server
    URL: pop://server
    username + pw
    poll intervall: 1 Min.</i>
The adapter is active and if I look into the adapter monitoring everything seems to be fine (green light).
But the adapter doesn't poll the messages from the mail account and I cannot see any activity in the message monitoring.
If I try the same configuration with Thunderbird everthing works fine. Also my receiving mail adapter works without any problems for the same account.
Do you have any idea what the problem could be or how I could find out what my mail adapter is doing?
    Thanks,
    Andreas

    Hi all, hi Andreas,
have you solved you problem? Could you please describe how you did it.
I have the same situation and I haven't any ideas how can I manage it.
I checked all parameters and compared they with documentation. Everything seems to be ok.
I didn't see any messages in the message monitoring, but in the chanel monitoring I found follows:
exception caught during processing mail message; java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
I tried the same configuration with email client and it worked. I tried change POP on IMAP with URL imap://server/folder. It didn't work also.
    Could you please help me?
    Thank you in advance,
    Anna

In ID,when i gave ip address in place of URL, am getting this log

When i gave URL in place of URL, am getting this log

    Hi,
    <i>1.How to stop deleting mails.</i>
When the IMAP4 protocol is used, we get an option "Delete messages when read".You could specify if you need to delete it or not.
<i>2.How to do mapping for an attachment, what additional things i have to do for this.</i>
    Could you please elaborate?
<i>3.Is there any option to change the flag of mail once it is read by XI.</i>
You cannot do this from XI. You would need to do it in your email client. In case you are using IMAP4,you could mark the message as read, once XI reads the unread message.
    Regards,
    Smitha.

  • Problems with sender mail adapter

    Hi XI Gurus
We have gone through a lot of blogs and searched a lot on the XI forum on how to configure the sender mail adapter with attachments but we still can't get it working at our site. Here are the issues -
    1. When we define our data type in the IR as let's say out_email_dt with namespace "http://www.xyz.com" the mapping fails. In the monitor(SXMB_MONI) the message from the sender mail adapter comes in like this -
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <!--  Request Message Mapping
      -->
    <xim:Mail xmlns:xim="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30" encoding="quoted-printable">
      <Subject>test 10</Subject>
      <From>"Test User" <[email protected]></From>
      <To>"XI Test Account" <[email protected]></To>
      <Content_Type>text/plain;charset="us-ascii"</Content_Type>
      <Date>2007-05-08T05:34:38Z</Date>
      <Message_ID><[email protected]></Message_ID>
<Content>This is the voice of the Mysterons=0A</Content>

Question 1 - do we have to define our data type as "Mail" under the namespace "http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30".
Question 2 - If you look at the content of  the <From>,<To>,<Message_ID> tags you will see that there is content with <> tags which is causing the message mapping to fail. Is there a way of telling XI that they are not xml tags but part of some other tags?
    2. Also the PayloadSwapBean doesn't seem to swap the payload to be the attachment.
    3. Can we use masks in the PayloadSwapBean for attachment names like "." as we don't know what the file name is going to be as we have multiple partners who will be sending emails to the same address and with different file formats.
    Thanks in advance.
