Purpose of net-assembler.cfg.xml file

Hi, all.
I've tried to deploy the 8.1 EAR to 9.2 weblogic server. I ran weblogic.appc that came with 9.2 to compile the ear and this completed without errors (some warnings about enabling call-by-reference, but those are already present in 8.1). When I tried to deploy the EAR to the server, I get an error that file net-assembler.cfg.xml is missing in my domain directory. What is the purpose of this file? I searched google and dev2dev but found no reference to this file. Does anyone know what to place inside this file?

You can ignore this file in FusionOrderDemo. It was there from previous versions of the demo but is no longer used.
Instead, to define data sources in JDeveloper 11g, you should expand the Application Resources accordion, the Connections and Database nodes, and right click and choose properties in order to define the connection that is used.

  • XML files and assemblies in bin directory

    In VS 2010 the bin directory was very simple and straight forward.  Now in VS 2012 Web apps the bin directory is filled with a bunch of System and Microsoft assemblies a bunch of folders named with the two letter country code use in URLs and a bunch
    of xml files with the name of the System and Microsoft assemblies.  I can guess the reason for the assemblies is so that the web app can be deployed to servers without the .Net Framework installed or to which the installed app does not have access to
    the GAC.  But what is the reason for all of the xml files.  Then to add insult to injury, even though the project is  created with all of these xml files listed in the bin folder, each and everyone has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark
    beside which I assume means that the file does not exist physically in the folder.  When you go to windows explorer sure enough they aren't there.
    What is the purpose of all of these xml files, and if they are needed then why aren't they added to the bin folder?  I can not publish my project because the files do not exist.  Can I delete these files with impunity?
    Edward R. Joell MCSD MCDBA

    How can you possibly think that this is an ASP.Net issue?
    Visual Studio 2012 created the listing for those files and foreign folders in the bin, NOT Asp.Net.
    Visaul Studio 2012 listed those files in the bin and failed to create the files physically NOT Asp.Net.
    Visual Studio 2010 does NOT put those extraneous files in the exact same kind of Asp.Net project, but Visual Studio 2012 does.
    This is behavior that only occurs with the new version of Visual Studio.  If it were an Asp.Net issue then Visual Studio 2010 would exhibit the same behavior.
    Visual Studio is the mechanism that carries out publishing the project.  This is a function of the IDE.  It is Visual Studio that is reporting it can not complete the task because it cannot find the files it did not create.
    This is new behavior from Visual Studio 2012,  which makes it impossible to work.
    In addition, Visual Studio 2012 keeps having the Output and Errors window show up on the level where the code windows are suppose to open and the code windows open where the output window is supposed to open.
    This behavior has NOTHING to do with Asp.Net or it would be present in ALL versions of Visual Studio, but it is only happening in Visual Studio 2012.
    Are the moderators of this forum trying to avoid the hard questions, or are they trying to hide flaws in Visual Studio?

    How do I get the real path of the xml file.
    Edited by: shashiwagh on Jan 29, 2010 11:46 AM

    Hi,
    if your XML file is inside a package you can easily get it from the classloader.
    Note that your application maybe packaged inside a jar so it is not safe to use java.io.File for this purpose.
    You have an xml file in :
    com/gts/xml/MyXML.xml
    in a class of the same module (that will packaged in the same jar) for example com.gts.java.XmlLoader :
    // To get the stream :
    InputStream is = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("/com/gts/xml/MyXML.xml");
    // Or the URL :
    URL xml = this.getClass().getResource("/com/gts/xml/MyXML.xml");Hope it helps.

  • Problem in placing hibernate.cfg.xml

    Hi,
      I have written one ejb project with hibernate in my net weaver.Now i have a problem in placing hibernate.cfg.xml.so tell me where to place it .Give some examples related to that and some related links.

    Hi,
    you can place it into the root of the EJB project as your EJBs probably access Hibernate as persistence layer. In this case make sure that you pass the string "hibernate.cfg.xml" within the method invocation when retrieving a SessionFactory as follows:
    try
    Configuration cfg = new Configuration();
    sessionFactory = cfg.configure
         ("hibernate.cfg.xml").buildSessionFactory();
    catch (Throwable ex)
    Otherwise the Configuration file may not be found by the application class loader due to different path syntax.
    For further information you can refer to this https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/java?rid=/webcontent/uuid/e081a4b6-0801-0010-7fa4-c3c7a0454815#hibernate [original link is broken] [original link is broken], although the hibernate.cfg.xml file is placed in the Web-Project in this example.
    Hope this helps,
    Best regards,
    Robin

  • Reading an XML file and write the contents to another xml file in java

    Hi,
    I am new to xml parsing.My requirement is that I am getting a message (xml) using ibm MQ in the ByteArrayInputStream format.I have to read this xml message and write to another file.
    I am creating a POC for this.
    First I used simple reading and writing concept but the output is "java.io.FileInputStream@3e25a5 "
    Sample xml file

    <b>  Where can I store the hibernate.cfg.xml?</b> I have tried put it in all web dynpro folders!

    How to add external jar in web dynpro without going for DC
    Web Dynpro References
    Using External Library in Web Dynpro - Error
    Deploy external jar to WAS 6.40

    Hi Ivan,
    you need to make sure you place the configuration file where the application server's class loader will find it. If you are running Web Dynpros (or any other web application), you may put it under WEB-INF/classes of your web module.
    You may have J2EE applications without any web components - for example if you intend to only provide business logic for web services or rich clients. In this case you may not have any web modules, but will probably have some kind of EJB jars or such. The Hibernate POJOs are a more natural part of such jars rather then WARs (web modules). In this case you can put them under the root of this JAR. The class loader of the SAP J2EE Engine will load any property file placed in the class path of the class loader - whether it's a flat text file or an xml file. WEB-INF/classes or WEB-INF/lib is always in the class path of the (application) class loader.
    There is one thing you have to be aware of though. I do not know which version of Hibernate you are working with, but if you look at the source code of hibernate (the binaries are in the hibernate.jar) you will see that, the method Configuration.configure() without any argument will try to load the hibernate.cfg.xml from the current path - which means, the hibernate.jar and the hibernate.cfg.xml will have to reside under the same folder. But you do not seem to do this, so it is OK. This applies to versions of the NetWeaver 6.40 or 6.40s. Most likely this also applies to the new JEE 5 preview version of the NetWeaver application server also available for download on SDN, since to my knowledge the class loadign concepts have not been changed. But I have not tested this yet.
    Beyond the How-To-Guide about running Hibernate on NetWeaver (or SAP J2EE Engine) 6.40 we have also provided a sample application and its source code as IDE projects. Take a look at them and you will find the hibernate.cfg.xml file in the deployable EAR.
    I hope this answers your question and my comment has been helpful to you.
    Cheers, Goran

  • Whats the purpose of the web.xml file?

    Hi
    What is the purpose of the web.xml fle?
    and does it have any impact on deployment?
    I get this msg when I am compiling .
    ignoring C:\JDeveloper9iRC\jdev\mywork\MIS_IntranetWS\mis_intranet\public_html\WEB-INF\web.xml; not on sourcepath
    I cannot deploy but for what reason I don't know. Am wondering if this is related at all
    Thanks

    The web.xml file is the standard deployment descriptor for a J2EE web application (or "web module" when it is part of a J2EE Application). The full details of what the web.xml is for is described in the Servlet 2.2 spec (if you're using J2EE 1.2) or the Servlet 2.3 spec (if you're using J2EE 1.3). You can download the Servlet spec from http://java.sun.com/products/servlet/download.html
    The web.xml file is used when deploying a WAR file to a J2EE app server. However the message you cite isn't indicating a deployment failure. When you get a deployment failure, you should see a message in the JDev Log Window indicating the reason for the failure. Be sure the Log Window is visible by selecting View | Log Window from the main menu.

  • Why Coherence mandates to name the file as hibernate.cfg.xml ???

    Wondering Why Coherence mandates to name the file as hibernate.cfg.xml , otherwise it wouldn't work
    We use Spring 2.5, Hibernate 3.2, Coherence 3.5
    •     Currently we have created hibernate.cfg.xml to make coherence work whereas we would like to leverage existing spring configuration file
    •     We wrote separate DAO’s i.e. xxxCoherenceDAO in addition to exsisting DAO’s. We would like to inject NamedCache into **CoherenceDAO
    • How to leverage Spring to start the CacheFactory i.e. we would like to avoid the following code in our XXXCoherenceDAO's
    NameCache customerCache = CacheFactory.getCache(com.xx.Customer.class.getName());

    Take a look at the [JavaDoc for HibernateCacheLoader|http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/coherence/352/com/tangosol/coherence/hibernate/HibernateCacheLoader.html]. It has several constructors that allow you to either provide the name of the Hibernate configuration or provide a SessionFactory created externally.

  • Slow processing when Parsing  XML files

    Hi
    I have written a utility in Java (using JAXP) which parses an .xml file. This xml file
    contains references to n number of other xml files. From here I direct the parser to each of these individual xml files where it searches for elements with a particular tag name, lets say 'node'. As in,
    <node name= "Parent A">
    <entry key="type" value="car"/>....
    </node>
    <node name= "Parent B">
    <entry key="type" value="Truck"/>
    </node>
    I am collecting all the 'nodes' from these n xml files and then finally building a single xml file which will contain only the 'node' and its attribute 'name' value. As in,
    <node name="Parent A"/>
    <node name="Parent B"/>
    In most cases n is a number greater than 100. Each of these n xml file have LOC exceeding 2 to 3000.
    NOW the issue is, the xml parser takes more than an hr to go through just 10 - 15 xml files , collects the 'node', and building a new DOM object which I finally get published using Xml Transformer.
    In effect , it beats the whole purpose of writing this utility as no programmer will stick around for an hr to to watch it happen/finish.
    Apart from maybe further fine tuning my logic, which I've almost exhusted, is there any 'faster' way of doing the whole thing.
    Please reply. Any comment would be greatly appreciated.
    I am using JAXP 1.3 specs to parse and build the DOM.

    DOM is slow.
    Do it yourself using a simple SAX-parser. For all startElement - check if it is a "node", and then write your output!
    Xerces is faster than the built in Crimoson SAX-parser in Java.
    Parsing with Xerces a 2GHz machine takes manages about 5-6 MB/s of XML files.
    Or use STX with Joost - although it's not THAT much faster

  • R/3 to MDM: XML files stuck on the port

    I am moving some master data from R/3 to SQL (for reconciliation report purposes) and then I built a .net application that translates the data in SQL to XML format and dumps the data in their respective ports.  I have my mapping and schemas defined.
    The problem I'm having is, the XML files are not getting picked up in the Ready port and moving to the Archived folder.  There are no exception, and the console gives me a status of, "Has Data" (as opposed to empty or exception), so I know that the system is aware the files are present.
    If I call our BASIS team and have them restart the service, then the files get picked up and processed correctly.  The files are scheduled to be picked up every 30 seconds, but any new files that are generated also get stuck.  The other posts we have in the same repository are working fine.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Andrew,
    can you please check if in the Console, the Port (Admin node -> Ports) has in the attribute 'Processing' the value automatic?

    Christiane

  • XML Files in %TEMP% folder when CONNTRANS is ran in Mobile Sales

    Hello Mobile gurus...
    Hope someone can help, I have had a couple of users who are not getting data they should be, for example Opportunities:
    When I have investigated their client it appears that there are a number of OPPORTUNITY_WRITE****************.XML files in the local users\Temp folder, these files contain the information that should have gon einto the IDES database and be viewed on the client.  I have not come across this before...
    I have re-extracted the subscription after deleting these but some, not all, re-appear and don't sync into the client database.
    I have alos uninstalled and re-installed the client software SQL etc.
    Can someone shed some light on what these files are and what is going on...???
    This is not only Opportunities but also Customers/Contacts and Activities - all listed as XML files
    Kind Regards
    Barry Dixon

    Hello Barry,
    In your registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\MSA\MW\TL check if you have these settings :
    TL_TRACE = 1
    TL_SOAP = 3, helps in formation of <BDoc_GUID>.xml files
    SPT_IMPORT = -1 , This entry ascertains that if there are errors in BDoc processing by Conntrans, it would stop.
    RCV_TRACE = 1
    Maintain these settings and do an extract and run conntrans again. I feel the import phase of conntrans causes issues, so you can check the log file TL_TRACE.dat.
    Another thing you can check is with the RootConfig.cfg file in Bin.Net. Just make sure that the first application mentioned in this config file with tags
    <Application>
          <Name>MSA</Name>
          <Path>C:\Program Files\SAP\Mobile\App.Net\MSA</Path>
    </Application>
    is proper and runs perfectly. Verify the path names as well.
    Thanks,
    Rohit

  • WDS Global XML File | Could Not Apply PE Boostrap Error?

    I setup a 2012 Server for the purpose of using WDS to deploy images via PXE.  I am having a problem with a specific Global Unattend XML file (attached to the WDS server, not a specific image).  I have been able to image via PXE with other global
    XML files so the server is working but this specific file is not working.
    While booting via PXE I get an error:
    "Windows could not apply the Windows PE Bootstrap setting specific in the unattend answer file"
    I validated the XML file in WISM and there are no errors.  I checked the event log on the server and it has basically the same error recorded Event ID 4114 each time I tried it.  I not sure where to go from here.  Any suggestions?
