Puzzled - BT Fon sign up

I recently got a new hub and notice it has Fon enabled. However I'm not a Fon member. I would like to sign up to get the free wifi munutes when I'm out and about but I keep getting:
'Customer product is not on allowed product list.'
I'm using my primary email address and correct password so what am I doing wrong?

The issue is I can't log in to opt in. I can't check my status. Same message over and over. Weird

I am using my primary email address and the correct password. I have Broadband Option 3. My hub tells me:
Your Home Hub has been activated for BT FON Wi-Fi Community and you are part of the community.
I'm mightily puzzled. It does not make any sense at all. The only thing I can think of is that I recently upgraded to option 3 and my privileges have for some reason not been upgraded.

  • Cannot access Openzone or Fon sign-on page

    I have BT Infinity Option 2 and am opted-in to the BT Fon community (I have checked this) and I want to use Openzone/Fon on an upcoming trip so tried testing it here at home.
    I can see both Openzone and Fon on my list of available networks, and can connect to both with a strong signal (probably from my own HH3!).  However, neither option gives me Internet access so I am unable to load the Openzone login page to enter my BTInternet username and password.  I'm guessing it's lack of these that is causing the lack of Internet access, but that's a chicken & egg situation!
    I'm sure my hub's internet connection is not maxed out because the only other computer using it in the house is the one I'm typing this on, and I'm not downloading anything.
    Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    Using Win 7 32-bit, IE9 on a laptop (which works fine with my normal BT Infinity connection)
    Hubby has also tried on a Linux netbook, with the same problem.

    Nah, I doubt it's BTNP blocking as other forum users have other AV installed and they still can't connect.
    If I'm honest, I'd have to say that the bug on the HH2 has now made it into the HH3

    If you really want to, a factory reset of your HH3 would prove this, though you lose any user changes to the hubs set up.

  • After purchasing mac os x 10.8 the installer tells me  i cannot use the hd as a startup disk and will not begin the installation.

    i bought the upgrade from the app store and after it finished downloading, the installler tells me i can't use the macintosh hd as a startup disk. since that's what is used, don't know what this is about. i have an imac8,1 with intel core 2 duo , 4gb ram running snow lepard.

    hello, sorry it's took so long to get back to you. tried the remedy and still no install. here is a screenshot of what the installer does. and no i don't use a file vault type app. this is just puzzling. maybe a sign to stick with my current os, ramdom glitches and all. i am about to leave for work now, so i won't be available until after 3am cental time. any replies left will be answered on sunday. thanks.

  • Just upgraded n97 firmware to 11.x

    fastest ever about 4 minutes to upgrade.
    couple of issues removed memory card b4 upgrade as i always do..
    1. said i would  need to restore. but all programs were still there and ran (probably becuase most were installed to memory card etc) but they didnt appear in application manager list so there would have been no way to remove them.. I restored and they are sill there and appearin the list now... however themes are not appearing in the list so no way to remove them ..
    2. one hang with profi mail going on internet when selected my wifi it froze.. had to pull battery out.. works ok now.. not sure what was going on.
    3. all otherapps i have tested and seem to work ok.. fring, sic ftp, profimail, slick, xplore, shazam, garmin, audible player, bridge game, solitair game, spb puzzle game , free signer, etc etc.
    4. keylock seems better currently have it set to 5 minutes and timeout on light to max.. but there is still no way to tell if the phone is dark due to light timeout or lock.. so you endup locking and still need to unlock if it was the light timeout.. they need to fix this so there is someway to tel.????
     memory has about 3 meg more free than b4.. still no recovery of my accuweather widget that works on home screen.. bummer..
    download is different and still kinda works but says still cannot dowload all folders.. but has ne popup that says ovi store is newere and recommends going there.. however ovi store client and **bleep** tak up about 2 meg of your phone memory..

    also still cannot remove the stupid boingo access pt.. or the jokiuspot pre installed app.. even thoughi have a pay version of jokuspot.. fix this nokia.. the phone is unlocked there should be nothing other other than required apps that we cdannot remove ie. music player ,, file manager etc.

    Occasionally the mail "sends", but it is unpredictable. Tech Support at Qwest (for q.com under Windows Live) does not find a problem at their end.
    More suspiciously, the same account accessed from my Mac does not seem to exhibit this problem. Have reloaded T'bird. Recurred again.

  • Trouble signing into FON

    I'm trying to sign up for BT FON but it keeps telling me that the service is busy. It's been like this all weekend. Can someone tell me when it's likely to be back up?

    Problem solved. I was using the wrong account. Strangely, I was given an initial account when I first signed up to BT Broadband years ago, but subsequently used another BT email address that more closely resembed my actual name. I don't remember how this happened and neither could the BT Helpdesk explain this. Suffice to say, I wasn't using the original account to sign in.
    No matter, it's now up and running. The more important point is: why doesn't the sign-up process tell you that your account details have not been recognised as opposed to saying 'Service busy - please try later'? You'll have to admit that that is a very misleading error.

    Hello, We've been trying to sign up for fon and it keeps giving us the same error message! Invalid user name or password. The user name is the one on our contract also our email address. [email protected] this is working ok for emails etc. The password is likely the problem!! We've tried the original password provided on the contract (a bunch of letters and numbers) We've have changed our password to something specific to us! This does not work! Whilst having problems with email online support suggested we change our password again, so we did change password about a month ago! This also fails to work? So our email address and current working password for email access does not work! Can anyone tell s which password we should use or how we can get to sign up for fon! Chris

    If you cannot opt in using the FON page, then there must be an issue somewhere.
    You have to use your full [email protected], which I expect that you are doing.
    You will have to try the BT Openzone/FON helpdesk, and see if they can see what the issue is.

    All new users are opted in by default, so you may find that that is the case for you, and the reason it is failing.

  • Trouble signing up for BT FON

    Hello, I keep getting the error message "Service busy. Please try later" when I try to dign up for BT FON.
    Another forum message suggested that this was because my details were wrong.
    I have Business Total Broadband.
    My primary email address ends @btconnect.com. I've had this since 2004.
    In case the password was wrong, I tried going to the reset password page, but I'm only allowed to enter an email address that ends btinternet.com, btopenworld.com or talk21.com
    Am I not allowed to join in this as I have the business package?

    I too find it a complete nightmare to sign in.  I finally got the iPhone app working a couple of weeks ago havihg tried to sign in about 50 times.  Today I downloaded the upgrade to the app and now I can't sign in again.  Not much help - just comfort in numbers:  you are not alone.

  • My photos have stopped showing up on my pc from my iPhone.  They do still show up on my iPad.  I have signed out of iCloud on my pc and then signed in, but that didn't help.  Very puzzling.  Any help?

    The iCloud backup only backs up your camera roll photos, not photo stream photos.  Also, photos only remain in photo stream for 30 days.  After that they are removed from your photo stream, but will remain on your devices that already have them.  If all your photo stream photos are older than 30 days, that would explain why they don't stream to your iPhone 5 even though they are on your iPad.
    To get them on your phone, you can use an app like PhotoSync, which will wirelessly transfer photos from any album (including photo stream) between your devices.  Alternatively, you can save the photo stream photos to the camera roll on your iPad (by opening the My Photo Stream album, tap Edit, tap all the photos to select them, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll), then import them to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), put them in a folder, then select the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync them to your phone.

    As far as I know you can't delete the primary email address for an iCloud account.  It's assigned when the account is created.  But your neighbor wouldn't have been able to get into your iCloud account without your Apple ID and password.  Are you sure the account wasn't still on your phone when you gave it to him?
    You could migrate a copy of your data to a new iCloud account but I would still be concerned that someone else was using my old account, which presumably still has your data in it.
    I'm fairly certain that you're going to have to have iCloud support help you sort this one out as they may have the ability to make changes to an existing account that users can't.  Make an appointment with the genius bar at a nearby Apple store and have them take a look at it.  If necessary, they should be able to contact iCloud support for you.

  • BB Erratic Since Signing Up For BT FON

    I registered with BT FON a few days ago and received correspondence to say BT would be testing my line. Since I registered my speed has plummeted erratically from a steady 550 KB/s to an less than 10 KB/s. This is driving me nuts because web pages don't load etc and the BT BB Desktop Help plug-in is constantly prompting me to re-boot my router.
    I would really welcome any help or suggestions.

    You can try my hint about disconnecting the line a few times, that normally pushes the noise margin up, as 3.3dB is a bit close to the edge.
    It may take a few more disconnects, but it usually works.
    If you get  it up to about 6dB, it will be much more stable.
    If it starts to drop again after that, then come back to this forum and we can suggest something else.

    Mystery to me, too. See my similar item above. For a couple of years it has always worked on my two Apple TV's.
    I've just found the YouTube web site help (with some searching) says YouTube now doesn't support the YouTube app on Apple TV's. Really? What's with that?
    Apparently there are some complicated two-part verification methods to sign in, but it is puzzling why this situation has just changed for no apparent reason. These methods are included in other items on this forum, but seem unnecessarily complicated to me after years of no problems.

The form is being completed using Adobe Reader (on a Panasonic Touchbook running Windows 7), so I have extended it to allow saving and signing. On the form I have a digital signature field for each trainee (next to a text field for their name) and a digital signature field for the trainer.
    Creating a proper digital signature, signable using a password, is fine for the trainer, but the trainees will only be seen once. Often/usually they do not have email addresses so emailing for a signature, using EchoSign/DocuSign is out, but I have a touch-screen computer so should just be able to pass it round for a quick signature. Also, the form will be completed offline, with the trainer turning up on a site, not having access to the internet.
    Clicking on the signature field does not provide a way to create the handwritten signature, and although the sign tab shows EchoSign in Adobe reader, allowing you to create such a signature this is shown as disabled (I imagine because I have extended the form).
    This is the last piece to the puzzle. Any ideas?

  • I had an Apple account on my old Lap Top to which my iPad  and iPhone were syncd. I now have a new Lap Top and when I tried to access my apple ID on it I was asked to sign up for a new account. I can't use any of them.

    I need help. I had an apple account on my old Lap Top to which my iPad and iPhone were synced ?  I recently changed my lap top. My problem is the new lap top won't accept my apple I D it asked me to sing up for a new one which I did. After doing this I  tried to sync my iPad and phone to the new lap top which I was unable to do as they didn't recognise my new ID. HELP!!!!!! 

    I am puzzled by this. The laptop doesn't need the Apple ID - but iTunes does. I could be missing something but ....
    Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.
    I just received a new MBP and my daughter did as well. My entire family shares an Apple ID and we had no issues at all with my Apple ID and iTunes on our new computers and I did not have to sign up for a new account. Did you even try the old ID?
