[Q] extract System.sin on linux
Hello,
I have extract the System.sin with the flashtool and the sin editor, Then I have unpack the System.ext4 on Linux with mount command. I can see and edit the data but I have an ihrer filetree here (/system/apps/[some_app]/arm and /system/apps/[some_app]/some.apk)
I this correct?
After edit files, must I recreate an system.sin?
I would make an flashable zip mit pre-rooted Firmware.
Thanks for help.

Create Zip File In Windows and Extract Zip File In Linux
I had created a zip file (together with directory) under Windows as follow (Code are picked from [http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/java.util.zip/CreateZip.html|http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/java.util.zip/CreateZip.html] ) :
package sandbox;
import java.io.File;
import java.io.FileInputStream;
import java.io.FileOutputStream;
import java.io.IOException;
import java.util.zip.ZipEntry;
import java.util.zip.ZipOutputStream;

public class Main {
* @param args the command line arguments
public static void main(String[] args) {
// These are the files to include in the ZIP file
String[] filenames = new String[]{"MyDirectory" + File.separator + "MyFile.txt"};
// Create a buffer for reading the files
byte[] buf = new byte[1024];
try {
// Create the ZIP file
String outFilename = "outfile.zip";
ZipOutputStream out = new ZipOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(outFilename));
// Compress the files
for (int i=0; i<filenames.length; i++) {
FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream(filenames);
// Add ZIP entry to output stream.
out.putNextEntry(new ZipEntry(filenames[i]));
// Transfer bytes from the file to the ZIP file
int len;
while ((len = in.read(buf)) > 0) {
out.write(buf, 0, len);
// Complete the entry
out.closeEntry();

The newly created zip file can be extracted without problem under Windows, by using [http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/java.util.zip/GetZip.html|http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/java.util.zip/GetZip.html]
However, I realize if I extract the newly created zip file under Linux, using modified version of [http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/java.util.zip/GetZip.html|http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/java.util.zip/GetZip.html] . The original version doesn't check for directory using zipEntry.isDirectory()).public static boolean extractZipFile(File zipFilePath, boolean overwrite) {

*"MyDirectory\MyFile.txt" instead of MyFile.txt being placed under folder MyDirectory.*
I try to solve the problem by changing the zip file creation code to
+String[] filenames = new String[]{"MyDirectory" + "/" + "MyFile.txt"};+
But, is this an eligible solution, by hard-coded the seperator? Will it work under Mac OS? (I do not have a Mac to try out)
p/s To be honest, I do a cross post at [http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2549766/create-zip-file-in-windows-and-extract-zip-file-in-linux|http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2549766/create-zip-file-in-windows-and-extract-zip-file-in-linux] Just want to get more opinion on this.
Edited by: yccheok on Apr 26, 2010 11:41 AMYour solution lies in the File.separator constant; this constant will contain the path separator that is used by the operating system. No need to hardcode one, Java already has it.
edit: when it comes to paths by the way, I have the bad habit of always using the front slash ( / ). This will also work under Windows and has the added benefit of not needing to be escaped. -
Hi Supports,
I am using sapinst homogeneous system copy in Linux on sybase.
I stuck on the the step 27/49 "create Database".
I checked Firewall is off.
i got points in my sapinst_dev.log that "
1)The log segment in the target database 'SID' is too small (9216 MB) to accommodate the log segment from the dumped database (10240 MB)"
and
2)"Can't change the owner of the master, model, tempdb or sybsystemprocs database"
Do i need to increase "sybase/SID/saplog_1" ? because my "saplog_1" is 49 mb now.
if it is ! how do i increase in this stage.
can any one know about this error???
Thanks,
Aziz.Hi,
When i seen SID.log file so its showing deadlock and checkpoint occurring,
Is any solution ???
Is this because of networks?
we had 2 servers on this same IP. but i stopped one server and one is still running.
please find my SID.log file and revert back if any soltion.

Where to download and how to install X Window System for Oracle Linux 5 ?
Folks,
Hello. I am using Oracle Linux 5 and Oracle Database 11g for PIA.
Before install Oracle DB 11g into Oracle Linux 5, we need to install X Window System according to the document page 2 http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/install.111/b32285.pdf
But I don't know where to download and how to install X Window System for Oracle Linux 5.
Can any folk provide a link to download X Window System and tutorial to install it for Oracle Linux 5 ?You can address the problem in a number of different ways.
You can install X-windows from the installation DVD or setup access to the Oracle public software repository as described in http://public-yum.oracle.com. In which case, the command to install X-windows is: yum groupinstall "X Window System"
Or, you login remotely and and use SSH with X-forwarding, in which case the software on the server will use the X-Windows server on your client system. This is probably the preferred way since you do not have X-windows installed on the server. For more details about SSH forwarding and howto, please see Install Oracle 11gR2 on Ubuntu Linux 11.04 (64-bit) Howto part 2 Oracle Universal Installer. -

I encountered this problem in redhat6/ jdk 1.6At least half the time I use it, I'd want it to be, the other half I wouldn't care.
What are you doing with it where this might be a problem?
Changing the system clock abruptly can cause all kinds of problems with your system anyway, because various background activities etc. often depend on file dates. Wherever possible use the "skew" method to adjust your system clock, rather than just plonking in a new value, especially if you are setting the clock backwards. -
I want to know can i install 3 Operating systems (Windows 7, Linux or OSX) on Macbook ?
Impossible to use a diferent processor than what the motherboard and socket supports, whether notebook (yours) or workstation (this forum).

Apple should make a server hardware/OS with iOS level security. This could compete well with the breach infested pre secure OS/hardware server systems like Windows Linux OSX. It should be structurally immune to phishing etc and could be sold easily as a secure alternative. It should be based on structural hardware based security as has been demonstrated in the iOS operating system and the hardware should be made in secure facilities in the US. Those Chinese put weaknesses into the hardware they make as has been documented on 60 minutes.
Apple's entry in the server market has come and gone - is there a question in there somewhere?

System crashes with linux 3.3.4-1
Running fully updated (@01/05/12) Arch with kernel linux 3.3.4-1 on an elderly Compaq Evo D500 with an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 AGP graphics card, and running Openbox as WM and xf86-video-nouveau driver. As soon as I updated kernel, am getting complete crash soon after I start doing something memory intensive like running VirtualBox or Chromium. The first message on the screen reports: BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at 00200200 [or 00100104]. There doesn't seem to be any lead up in the logs that I see.
The system becomes completely unresponsive, and no keyboard or mouse actions work. Only a hard power off works.
Maybe I should revert to the dreaded vesa driver ... or any better ideas most welcome!litemotiv wrote:See this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=140635
Dead right - seems like the same kernel problems! -
Imaging a dual boot system - Windows and Linux
Using Zenworks 7, I have tried several experiments and all of them seem to
fail. If I do any kind of Windows install, then make a image, then restore
the image, it works just fine. However, if I also install Linux, and use the
Linux multiboot menu, and save an image, when I restore the image, only
Windows can be accessed, the boot menu is gone. I also noticed that if I
try to make an image of Suse 10.2, when I re-image the system back to Suse
10.2, it constantly reboots or only gives me a GRUB prompt and nothing else.
Is there a parameter or switch someplace in Zenworks to make sure it
includes Sector 0, 1 ,5 ,6, etc. etc.?
Also, I noticed something else. If it is a windows only system, and I have a
second partition which is hidden that I keep a ghost image in, and I have a
ZEN image of this system; If I re-image via ZEN, all the data is there, but
for some reason, the second hidden partition is no longer hidden. Other
than that, it works fine.It is ZFD. I'll take it over there..Thanks

How to extract System/Client Info from R/3
Hi All,
Can somebody tell me how do we get the system/client information along with our transaction data coming from two R/3 systems during extraction? If it is possible or not?
If yes in which R/3 table we can find that information?
Regards,
PoojaHi Pooja,
The Source System is very specific for each info package . So when you create a infoPackage you are aware about the source System. So add 0SOURSYSTEM in the infoSource and make it a constant value(hard code it).
Hope you got it

Happy Tony

Executing system commands on Linux
Hi,
I am trying to copy a file from Java code on Linux platform using the cp command.
Process p = Runtime.getRuntime.exec("bash -c \"cp file1 file2\"");
The process is exiting with exit code 2 and the file is not getting copied.
The same command when executed directly from the terminal window (command console of Linux) is working fine and the file is getting copied.
I am using RedHat Linux 7.1. Any ideas plz...

Get System.map for linux-lts?
I am trying to use volatility on a Arch linux (lts) memory dump and for that
I need to create a profile for Arch linux. The problem is that arch linux
does not come with a System.map file and the vmlinuz files seem stripped (? cannot run nm on it).
I have seen other applications use /proc/kallsyms but it is apparently not
good enough for volatility ( https://github.com/volatilityfoundation … /issues/76 )
So, is there any way to get the System.map file for the linux-lts kernel?
