QNX or Linux driver that will DMA from a PCI-6052E

Hi,
I am planning a QNX or Linux driver that will DMA from a PCI-6052E.
In the readme at
ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/daq/linux/Readme
snip ..
* DMA is not supported at this time. Doing DMA would require
programming the mMITE chip on NI's CPCI/PCI/PXI cards, and as of now
that information is only available under NDA, thus precluding an
open-source release. Feedback on this issue is appreciated.
snip ..
Is this readme up to date? I do need the DMA, and was hoping to get the
necessary info from the Linux code.
cheers -- Rick

Before you buy.

Yes sadly I have tried that config.  I did a clean XP install with onboard sound and agp card, after install completes and windows loads for first time it would play most of the login tune then crash with a loud continuous shriek.  Went into BIOS, disabled sound, unjumpered it, reboot, and boom it ran great.
Would an IDE contoller card be an option here?  or would the stuttering Southbridge still be involved?

I use an iMac running V. 10.10.2.  I have an Epson WP-4530 printer.  Is there a printer driver that will enable one to print photos from color negatives?
I have already tried downloading the drivers from Epson as per one person's suggestions, but the dialog box isn't anything like what was suggested--the choices in the box weren't the same for the most part.  I don't want to lock up the computer or disable the printer for normal printing, but I have a lot of old negatives that I would love to have prints from.

I am using the latest software from Epson for Mac OS 10.10.2 that I downloaded last week.  I seem to remember that the older software (we're talking 6-8 years ago) had to option to scan slides or negatives and would convert the results into positives via the scanner.  I don't like the most recent scanning software because it jumps right into the scan before giving you a chance to change the options.  It uses the selected options from the previous scan which are sometimes right, sometimes wrong.  Thanks for your reply to my question!

  • Need advice re: Lightscribe drive that will work in Mac Pro

I have the stock superdrive in my Mac Pro upper slot. I had a three year old LaCie 16x Lightscribe Drive that I took from my G5 and installed it in the lower slot. I could not get the MacPro to recognize it. I triple checked the cable connects, tried Cable Select and Slave jumper settings, installed the latest LaCie system extensions for the drive, but it still will not recognize it. It does not show up in Disk Utility or anywhere else.
So.... I bought the Lite-On DH-20A4H08C drive from Amazon. Put it in (Cable Select) mode, and the Mac Pro recognized it right away. The problem is that the tray in the Lite-On drive sits too low in the chassis, and when ejecting, it catches on the drive door of the Mac Pro - sometimes it can get out all the way under it's own power, sometimes I have to pull it out. It retracts pretty much OK. I'm not into the stress that this misaligned drive is putting on components, so I plan to return it.
Can anyone recommend an IDE Lightscribe Drive that will work in the Mac Pro and where the tray will eject nicely through the seemingly slimmed drive doors on the Mac Pro? If not IDE, can I use a SATA Lightscribe Drive? I understand there are two SATA ports on the motherboard beneath the back of the optical drive enclosure.
Looking for some positive experiences here please?
    thx -b

Well, I found the fix! I ditched the Lite-On and continued fiddling with my better fitting LaCie drive and I found that the LaCie drive has to be in the upper bay (i.e. first in the chain) for it to work. The SuperDrive had to be moved to the lower bay (last on the chain). I have no idea why this is, but swapping positions causes the LaCie drive to be invisible to the Mac Pro. Of course, both drives are set to Cable Select. Even LaCie tech support (which was very responsive BTW) were scratching their heads.

There seems to be a problem, just now, with the USB 3 ports on the new MBP's supporting eternal USB 3 drives. Some people have no luck at all - can't even recognize the drive - and some are reporting USB 2 speeds (those who drives are recognized). I'd call a dealer such as LaCie or OWC to see if they have USB 3 drives that actually work with MBP's with USB 3 ports. You may have to wait for a software/firmware update.

  • I need to use an hp 6215 printer with my mac book pro.  the driver installation disk doesn't work.  where can i get a driver that will work?  i use OS X

i need to use an hp 6215 printer with my mac book pro.  the driver installation disk doesn't work.  where can i get a driver that will work?

With the Lion it is essentially unnecessary to resort to external driver disks. What's more, most of those disks are incompatible with the OS and should not be used. The system already carries a wide variety of printer description files (aka PPDs, which is what modern printing systems use as "drivers") for a lot of brands. And there was an HP printer update just two days ago.
Just checked in mine and did indeed find that the HP OfficeJet 6200 Series, with or without Fax, is covered with the latest update.
So just go thru the motions of creating a proper printer instance:
Make sure the Mac "sees" the printer on the network.
System Preferences / Print & Scan
Click on the + button on the left column
Select the appropriate type of printer, will use IP for the rest of this
Select HP Jetdirect - Socket, default for HP network printers
Type the IP address or look it up
Name the printer for easy identification on the print dialog
Let the Mac identify the printer model or manually choose the driver
    Click Add.
Once the instance pops up in the list, can click on Options & Supplies for further config.

How do I find a list of printers that will print from the IPad 2?

Those that support AirPrint are listed on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
Some printer manufacturers also have their own apps e.g. HP http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hp-eprint-home-biz/id299531647?mt=8
And there are third-party apps which work with some printers e.g. Print Central For iPad and Print n Share

    Hi there dcjoe,
A lot of places carry the cables you are looking for. Though your area may vary I have found them in places like radioshack and wal-mart. Here is a google shopping link to get you started. Let us know if this helps.
    Best of Luck!

  • HP Photosmart C3180, is there a driver that will enable this printer to read sdhc cards

HP Photosmart C3180 all in one printer. is there a driver that will enable this printer to read SDHC cards.

This is a limitation of the USB hardware on the C3180 which will not read SDHC cards.
Maximum recommended memory card size: 1 GB (solid state only)

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Any external optical drive will work with your Mac. If you want an Apple USB SuperDrive, see > http://www.tuaw.com/2012/04/02/use-the-macbook-air-superdrive-with-any-almost-ma c/
The best option is to take the Mac to an Apple Store and get the Mac's SuperDrive repaired

  • Need a driver that will work for HP Color Jet Laser Printer with OS 10.7

How can I download a drive, and fom where, that will allow me to print from a Mac Book Air with OS 10.7 from an HP 1600 LASER COLOR JET. Thank you

    Hey Ravenmark,
This may or may not work but you can try using the Mac OSX drivers for the 1500 series and see if you get any good results.
    They're listed here:

  • Dose anyone know of a driver that will work with OS 10.8 and imageRUNNER 1025iF?

No driver available from Canon. Is there a work around or a generic driver out there that will work?

The Canon UFR2 v2.41 driver for 10.7 that was released last month also works fine on 10.8.
This driver is for UK English regions where your model is known as the iR1024iF. If you want to check the Canon USA web site for the US English version of the UFR2 v2.41 driver then you should get the correct model name.

  • Do I need rtexprvalue set to true for a String that will vary from page to page?

Hi I am a newbie to JSP tags. I have done enough reading so far to see
that if I want an attribute of the tag to be a scriplet ie:
              <foor:bar name="<%=myObj.getName()%>" />
then the rtexprvalue for this attribute in the TLD needs to be true.
My question is what if I have an attribute that will not be read from
a scriplet but will vary from page to page. ie:
<foo:authorize securityLevel="1"> but on another page it will be
<foo:authorize securityLevel="3"> etc.. Since many servlet containers
create only one instance of the tag class and then re-use them from a
pool do I need to set rtexprvalue to true for an attribute like this
to make sure the tag reads the correct one as I go from page to page?

You do not need to set rtexprvalue to true for the situation you describe.

  • How can I deactivate Photoshop Elements 5.0 on hard drive that will not boot?

I have Elements 5.0 loaded on a hard drive which will no longer boot. I have a new hard drive and can access the old drive as an extra internal hard drive. I cannot use Photoshop, so I was thinking I need to deactivate the copy loaded on the old hard drive and reload it on the new hard drive. Is this the best solution? If so, how do I deactivate? When I start up the editor, it does not have an option for deactivating as I read about in another post. Under the help menu, there is a grayed out option for Registration. After a few seconds, a window appears saying there is a problem with my serial number and the application closes.  Also, I would like to load Photoshop on a laptop later, so I do not want to waste one of my allowable loads. I would appreciate any help.

Yes, as long as you don't have it on more than two computers at once you're in compliance with the license. (Back in the days of PSE 5 adobe worked more on the honor system.)

  • Data Recovery off of a drive that will not boot

I have a server which will not boot into windows, I really just need to grab a few files off of it, I have downloaded several types of software and of course there is a limit on how much it will restore then it wants you to pay, the size is about 52 gb's, I used to use WINPE, does anyone have a piece of software that is free that I can recover this data since I can not boot into windows?

    Did you do this:
    Repair the Hard Drive
Boot from your Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select the external volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. Quit the installer to restart the computer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
See if this works to repair the drive.
