QOS for Switches - CallManager

CallManager 4.0 installed and i want to collect QOS statistics, we have Cisco 500 switches and 2950 switches which run QOS, however, when i check callManager there are no Statistics collected,
please assist,

If your Gateway is H.323 all the calls that use that GW will be cataloge as NA since H.323
do not has the ability for QOS reports.
1. if the endpoint device does not support CMR data (packet loss, jitter, etc.) This
includes all h323 devices, some mgcp, and some sccp devices
2. if the call potentially matches multiple rules it may result in N/A:
If that is not our case make sure to enable the CMR records in the CCM Service Parameters, those records are the ones used for the QoS reports.

  • QoS for App-V

    Hello,
I'm currently configuring new 3750X switches.
I must implement QoS on the stack. The QoS must be the following:
    VOIP Class (50%)
    App-V Class (40%)
    Movie Class (10%)
How I can do this (in particular for AppV)? I do the following for the moment:
    class-map match-any VOIP
    match protocol voice
    match dscp ef
    match protocol sip
    match protocol skype
    match protocol rtp audio
    match protocol rtp video
    exit
    class-map AppV
    exit
    class-map Movie
    match protocol rtp video
    exit
    policy-map BandwidthTraffic
    class VOIP
    priority percent 50
    set dscp ef
    class AppV
    bandwidth remaining percent 40
    class Movie
    bandwidth remaining percent 10
    interface Gig1/0/3
    ip nbar protocol-discovery
    service-policy input BandwidthTraffic
Anyone can says me if it's correct or not? And why?
    Thank you for your help.

It appears you've some router QoS.  3750X QoS is quite different for egress as you're limited to working with four egress queues.  I don't recall 3750X supporting NBAR.
Suggest you read the configuration guide's chapter on QoS, for you 3750X IOS version, and then post questions as necessary.  (My concern is, 3750X QoS is so different, it wouldn't be helpful to suggest a QoS configuration until you had a basic understanding of the 3750 QoS architecture and features.)

  • Hyper-V 2012 R2 QoS for a specific set of VMs?

I'm trying to figure out how to setup SCVMM 2012 R2 with a Logical Switch to support QoS for a specific set up VMs. Specifically, I have a subnet that will have a variety of VMs running, but within that subnet I have a handful of VMs that need a unique
software QoS setting. Is this possible?

  • How to setup QoS for IP/Mac Address WRVS4400N

I need some help setting up QoS for two Cisco/Linksys devivces on my network.
Network devices are Comcast SB6120 modem into WRVS4400n (v2.0.2.1 firmware) that divides into one 24 port gigabit Netgear unmanaged switch, 1 port into AT&T Cisco Microcell, 1 port to HP Officejet 7700 wired printer.  Unmanaged switch has approx 10 devices attached (including another 8 port unmanaged gigabit switch).  3 static leases are defined for the network for three devices (HP OJ 7700 printer, Cisco/Linksys PAP2 VOIP adapter, windows home server v1.  DHCP is handled by WRVS4400n.  Comcast service provides 12mbps of service upstream, 4mbps downstream.
Need to setup QoS for AT&T Microcell and PAP2 VOIP adapter.  The real issue that I can't figure out how to configure is IP based priority access.  I can do rate control for an IP address but can't figure out how to specify priority control for an IP.
Here are my the current config questions:
    1.  Bandwidth management page:  For the microcell device plugged into port 1, do i set the default CoS to 4 or 1?
    2.  Bandwidth management page:  Should the bandwidth management type be set to priority?  I assume yes since I need to define the UDP/TCP ports for priority.  The major issues here are
    a) one of the ports the Microcell uses is secure https (TCP 443) which is could also be used by any other internet device.
    b) can't specify priority for the PAP2, since it's behind the unmanaged 24 port switch
    3.  QoS setup page:  Do I need just 2 queues (one for the port ID for the Microcell and one for the IP address of the Linksys adapter)?
    4.  QoS setup page:  I assume I need to define DSCP for the unmanaged switch but not sure how to tie a queue to an IP address
    4.  QoS setup page:  Shoud priority 0 be set for the most important queue (microcell) and the priority 1 CoS be for the VOIP adapter?  Again, not sure about how to define priority by IP address.
    5.  DSCP setup page:  As far as I can find, there's no documentation on how to setup this page.

That's what I do. I keep it simple, one calendar, one set of contacts.
iCloud is really the simplest way to go, as it will sync your (eventual) single Contacts and Calendar across all your devices.
    I would:
Figure out which single calendar (in Calendar.app) and contacts (in Contacts.app) that you want to keep.
I'd make a backup of each one. For example,
in Contacts, File > Export... > Contacts Archive...
in Calendar, File > Export... > Calendar Archive...
Make a backup of the other calendar events and contacts that you want to save.
delete all the contacts and calendars from your phones and your iPad.
add the contacts and events from the backups to the single calendar in Calendar.app and your contacts in Contacts.app on your iMac. There is probably some way to export the contacts and events you are adding, and then combine them, but you could also just add them manually.
Then when you configure all your devices for iCloud, they will be all synced automatically.

  • QOS for inbound traffic on 3560

Just to clarify what I'm asking.... I would like to make the congestion happen on our end and not on the ISP's equipment that I have no control over traffic shaping etc... I can't limit the bandwidth on the aggregate port that the metro e connects to (3750) because it would limit it for all locations and not just one. I think my only option is to limit the bandwidth on the switch at the location in question but I guess it would have to be on the ingress side, but then will it still drop packets according to dscp priority during congestion?

I have a little problem I hope you guys can help me with. We have a location that has a metro e hand off from our ISP. The same metro e also serves other locations and the aggregate point is at our main office which goes to a Cisco 3750 stack. The location in question has a single Cisco 3560 switch. We need to apply QOS for both inbound and outbound traffic to this location. I can tag the traffic to and from there but how do I make it so that the 3560 (or 3750) gets saturated and not the ISP connection for incoming traffic (so we decide what packets get dropped)? srr-queue bandwidth limit can't be used on the metro e port on the 3750 because this would limit all locations and not just the one.Should I put another small switch and put it in from of the 3560? This way I could use srr-queue and apply QOS to the egress queue.I hope this...

  • QoS for voice tagged traffic

I am trying to confirm my assumption that given voice traffic arriving at an AP or wireless bridge is already tagged with COS (and TOS) precedence, the wireless device will properly deal with it by default.
It appears from the documentation, but isn't explicitly stated, that the only QoS configuration required is to classify and tag (COS) packets. If they are tagged already, no configuration is required.
    Is this correct?
Also, are COS precedence values preserved across a wireless bridge link, or must they be re-tagged at the far end?

    Hi there,
in "Configuring QoS" of the Aironet 1310 Configuration Guide
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps5861/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00804ed713.html
    it reads:
    "Precedence of QoS Settings
When you enable QoS, the access point/bridge queues packets based on the Layer 2 class of service value for each packet. The access point/bridge applies QoS policies in this order:
    1. Packets already classified—When the access point/bridge receives packets from a QoS-enabled switch or router that has already classified the packets with non-zero 802.1Q/P user_priority values, the access point/bridge uses that classification and does not apply other QoS policy rules to the packets. An existing classification takes precedence over all other policies on the access point/bridge.
Note Even if you have not configured a QoS policy, the access point always honors tagged 802.1P packets that it receives over the radio interface."
    Hope this helps

  • VoIP QoS for Site-to-Site Tunnel

    Hi all,
I need some help with setting up QoS for VoIP between two Cisco ASA 5505 with Site-to-Site VPN.
There is no need for bandwith reservation, only DSCP 46 (EF) should be highest and DSCP 26 second highest queue and the rules should only apply to a site-to-site VPN.
Usually i try to configure the ASAs via ASDM and found out in the Cisco Documentations how to setup QoS for the DSCP bits with a Service Policy and how to set up QoS for a Site-to-Site VPN (Service Policy Rule -> Traffic Match). But how do i configure the QoS for a DSCP bit to only apply to a Site-to-Site Tunnel? And how do i configure different priorities for the two DSCP bits, is this defined by the order of Service Policies?
The QoS has to be enabled on both ASAs for the inside interface?
    Thanks in advance
    Tobias

    Hi Collin,
ok so from the document i think this has to be added on both ASAs to prioritize DSCP 46. Could you have a quick look if this is all i need?
    class-map voice_traffic
    match dscp ef
    class-map data
    match tunnel-group <Tunnel Name>
    match flow ip destination-address
    policy-map voice_policy
    class voice_traffic
      priority
    class Data
     police output 200000 37500
    service-policy voice_policy interface outside
But there is still the question how two configure another DSCP bit for priority 2, I could not find out how this is done, neither CLI nor ASDM. Any ideas?

  • Enum class not supported for switch() statement in 12.4 beta?

    Hi fellow 12.4 beta testers,
It would appear "enum class" isn't supported for switch() statements in the 12.4 beta. This compiles fine under clang and g++. Will this be fixed for the final release? This currently causes compile errors for us, since __cplusplus >= 201103L evaluates to true, so our code uses "enum class" instead of plain "enum". It looks like the C++11 standard says it should be supported:

Thanks for reporting this problem! I have filed bug 18499900.
BTW, according to the C++11 standard, the code is actually not valid. Section 6.4.2, switch statement, says an implicit conversion to an integral type is required, which is not the case for for a scoped enum (one using the "class enum" syntax). This limitation was raised in the C++ Committee as an issue to be fixed, and the C++14 standard makes the code valid.
As a workaround, or to make the code conform to C++11, you can add casts to int for the enum variable and the enumerators.

  • Charged £36 for switching to a different supplier ...

I signed a 12 month phone and broadband contract last September with BT, and received a renewal notice a month prior to my contract being up to say that I should let them know if I didn't want to renew, otherwise my renewal would go ahead on 19th September.
This year I decided to try a different supplier, so I signed up with this other company at the start of September and they contacted BT to say that I would be switching - this notice was given two weeks before 19th September.  My switchover date was 26th September, so I had one week further with BT beyond my 12 month contact, which BT didn't state would be a problem.  BT sent a letter confirming my account was being terminated, and stating that I would be charged £0.77 for switching.  It seemed a bit strange to me that I would be charged for switching suppliers, after all it doesn't cost BT anything apart from losing my custom and I wouldn't have thought it was in line with competition laws to try and put charges in place to discourage people from switching, but I thought nothing of it as it was such a small amount.
However, I've since received an email from them saying:
As you're stopping your service within the minimum term, you'll need to pay £36.170002 for stopping early. This fee is usually based on the number of months left on your contract.
But I'm NOT stopping within the minimum term, my minimum term was 12 months which I completed - and I never signed a new contract with them, and I told them with plenty of notice that I would be switching elsewhere, so there are NO months left on my contract.
I can understand that I will be charged for an extra week of service, which by my calculations for unlimited evening and weekend calls (£3 per month plus £10 line rental) and 40GB monthly broadband (£18 per month) totalling £31 per month, for 7 days that works out at about £7, which is what I would expect my final bill to come to.
Anyone else had this issue?  It's odd that I've received two different letters via different communication channels (one in the post and one via email) which say contradictory things about termination charges.
Advice and help would be much appreciated.  Previously I had a reasonably good image of BT and would have considered switching back to them next year, however that prospect becomes less likely the more they mess me around with this.
Thanks for any help you can give,
    Tdot

Thanks for responding, in answer to your questions:
    1. No I didn't get a MAC code from them, I didn't realise I even had one, they didn't mention this when they contacted me and said it would cost 77p to switch.  As they didn't mention it in their letter when they had the opportunity to tell me about any additional charges, I'd be very annoyed if they charged me when there was another way of doing it which would exempt me from those charges!
    2. My new supplier contacted BT straight away and BT sent a letter to me confirming that my contract would be ending. As a result, I didn't think I'd need to contact them to say it would be ending - surely they already knew if they contacted me to let me know when my service would be stopping?
I did email them and they have got back to me saying something about a fault with my bill, and that everything should be fine once my final bill is issued.  I will wait and see on the final bill what happens, then if it's not to my satisfaction I'll put in an official complaint.
From a look around this forum, the MAC code issue seems a common one.  Any ideas how it usually pans out?  It seems to be an ongoing issue on quite a few posts.  Is there anything I can do now the switch has occured?  I assume not, but it's worth a try.
    Many thanks,
    tdot

  • Request for switch off protection in coming new iphone.

    Dear apple
Subject- Request for switch off protection in coming new iphone.
I am a very new customer of yours, have bought a iPhone 5s on 25th Dec '13, but unfortunately someone stolen my phone in a MELA in my city. I immediately call my iphone but getting it switch off, as the thief had put the phone in switch off mode. I search it in iCloud with find my iphone apps but getting offline till date. I use pass code & finger print protection that's why probably it can't be use by the thief, but it can be sell as spare parts by opening up its parts . I had do all legal formalities & inform my carrier to lock my sim. Recently I again bought a new iPhone 4s 8GB from amazon.com & using it now.
It is the time to welcoming new iphone probably iphone 6/iphone air in this fall. I have plan to buy it & a apple laptop but first iphone 6 followed by iwatch if you launch & than laptop.
Now coming to the main point why I have written this mail let's explain it - I think you should put a switch off protection in this new device so that someone can't put the phone in switch off mode except the owner, at-least phone can be track till the battery last if someone stollen it. Because I know the problem & pain when someone lose a smart phone with all personal details. So please consider this in your new device as a new feature.
I have given the details of my both phone -

    IMEI no

This is a user-to-user forum. If you wish to offer Apple feedback, you can do so here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/
As for your suggestion, as much as I can understand what you are requesting, if the device is turned off, it is off. There isn't anything Apple or your carrier can do about that. Having a device that is OFF continue to send a signal suggest all sorts of privacy and battery management issues.

  • Enabling QoS for enterprise on a router

    Hello,
I plan to enable QOS for enterprise on a customer's router between three (3) to five (5) days. Will this have an impact on the router for the said days?
    Thanks you in advance,
    Martin.

Generally speaking no, qos will not impact any operations at all. It will just classify, mark, police/shape, guarantee bandwidth according to the criteria you specify.
But it will not cause any performance issues.

  • Why doesn't the rotate gesture on my trackpad behave as it used to for switching between tabs when it works the same with all other programs besides Firefox?

Why doesn't the rotate gesture on my trackpad behave as it used to for switching between tabs when it works the same with all other programs besides Firefox?
I changed the about:config to make the rotate gesture move between tabs, and it worked great for well over a year. Now it behaves erratically as described here:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=877598
It used to be very controllable to move one tab over, now it is erratic and moves quickly and to unexpected tabs regardless of how slow I do the rotate gesture. This is the main reason I use Firefox over Chrome and I would like to continue to do so unless there is no fix to this.

Just set the browser.gesture.twist.threshold to something around 15-25.

  • QoS for Video Data

    Hello Together,
I like to implement a QoS Policy class to prioritise "Windows Netmeeting". Does somebody know the well known port number and can somebody recommend an bandwidth that i should provide at least to this class ?
    Thanks in advance.

As you can find in the Netmeeting IP ports table below, netmeeting uses dynamic ports for Video streaming. So I am not really sure how you can configure QoS for the same.
Anyone has a good tip to achieve this.?
    Port Purpose
    389 Internet Locator Server (TCP)
    522 User Location Server (TCP)
    1503 T.120 (TCP)
    1720 H.323 call setup (TCP)
    1731 Audio call control (TCP)
    Dynamic H.323 call control (TCP)
Dynamic H.323 streaming (RTP over UDP)
