QT help to export (is blocked?)

Hey all, I'm a mac user with quicktime pro. I download some movies from a webpage. This videos have a high resolution and I want to convert them to m4v, so I can see them on my iPod. These are on movie format. When I got to the export menu it appears grey (not available to choose) and then i tried with my other loved program iSquint. None of them exported any of the movies I downloaded... is there any way I can do that? a code or download or something?? Any solution? PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks Dave, this movies are .mov format and are from the espn-u2 spots of the Fifa World cup. Becasue this cannot be download from their site, I used a site for when this happens (or when I need video from youtube.com) http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php I always have download movies and export them, as easy as it sounds, but this is an exception... I just got a GTS export license block. We are using the license IVLP license type.
From the log, it says "Values and quantities were not written off completely"
The document flow is:
1. create STO from US plant to Asia plant;

If you have table/index create commands (DDLs), you can create them in Developper and import data using one of methods below
Extract/ Load table
Insert location method : require IQ servers to be entered in interfaces file
Backup/Restore : copy entire database content
If you have not the DDLs, you can generate them using IQ cockpit or SCC.

URGENT HELP master export setup
Hi,
I tried to search in the forum before I sent this request and I did not find my answer.
I am using Production suite CS4, Windows 7. I am trying to figure out whatr is the best export setups (codec) to send to the post captioned place who works with Final cut pro. It is a 45 min documentayy shot on hxp170 that will be broadcasted on APTN channel (standard and HD). I shot 720p 24 fps (native) My files are 1.33 pixel ratio.
I want the best quality possible regardless of the size of the file.
Can Avid DNxHD codec work? (I googled and did not find a proper answer)
Also a problem: I tried to export an MXF version and an uncompressed AVI. I used Sapphire plug ins (cartoon, film scratch, glow etc) and with some export setup, it make some clips slide up or left of the screen!!! Anyone had that before?
Also: should I export 24 fps or 23.976?

In reference to your first question, it might be worth asking them what they WANT. They may have a preferred pre-broadcast format, and if you can supply that, it may save your material from being transcoded (again).

Help with exporting gradient background as jpg

Hi there! I'm totally new to this forum & very new to
fireworks, so go easy on me!
I am designing for QVGA smartphone/PPc screens & find
that when I create a gradient in fireworks MX (version 6) &
then export it as a jpg, on the phone/PPC screen the gradient is
filled with big blocks of colour rather than smooth transitions
between them, making the overall effect more like lines or blacks
of colour than a smooth gradient. I am exporting the jpgs at the
highest quality settings (100%).
Can someone help? Is it just my lack of technique when
blending colours? If so is there a tutorial somewhere? Or can I
export in a different format? The screens I design are controlled
by an xml layout file, & will accept .jpg, .gif & .bmp

Yes, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, the bit depth
could be the
issue. Try setting your monitor to 16 bit and experiment with
gradients
at that bit depth. Keep the color range and the tonal range
less extreme
(light blue to dark blue for example, rather than white to
dark blue)
similar an you might be able to get something a little more
pleasing.

HELP - CONTACT EXPORT NEEDED... DEVICE LOST / STOLEN

I was a happy customer with an old BLACKBERRY PEARL FLIP # 8220 that was bought new by my best friend in 2009 or 2010 and given to me, by him, in 2012 - 18 months ago. It was starting to have some right- and left-edge keys working less than ideally but it was still serving my very basic needs: I'm an old-fashioned guy that lives 6 blocks from work and walks 10 minutes between locations... and I only use the internet very sparsely at work and barely at all, at home, and I really don't need it in between those places, so I only have an incredibly cheap TALK / SMS plan - with no data plan (@<$32/mth, total - incl tx and fees!). I send about 2-3 txt-msgs (SMS only) per day; and I get even fewer! I use the talk feature maybe 1-2 times in 2-3 days. I'm a virtual non-user, I admit. People laughed at why I'd even have a smart phone that literally wasn't at all smart... but it was because I'd admired my friend's phone's appearance and functionality, and because it was free to get from him, and because he helped me switch companies to a lower-cost plan running on GSM (Rogers) not CDMA (Telus). I didn't even use BBM, let alone any e-mail or other internet functions, games, apps, even GPS. However, despite such sparse and seemingly 'dumb' use, I had very valuable contacts in that phone which other people envy... I NEED those.
The DESKTOP MANAGER version that I got from my best friend when he gave me his old phone is v 4.6 - and he said that it had been updated when he gave it to me. I realize that v6 is now standard (or even higher?) and that support for older versions is gone. I also see that v6 has features that 4.6 does not...
I backed it up before I went to Toronto on 13 September. I doubt there was more than 1-2 new contacts, if that many even, that weren't backed up. It was as up-to-date as I could figure...
I'm on ROGERS Wireless in Canada.
So: I had just happend to spot a non-BB phone that I like and I bought it, intending to switch when I got some time. I'm moving out of country in a year and I'm slowly getting things in place for that, and I was planning to switch to a newer phone and thenunlock the BB to have as a spare, but I accidentally lost my Blackberry in mid-week, this past week, when I got out of a cab... and it may be gone forever, now. Just 3 days after getting the next phone that I had planned to use, I lost the old one before I could even switch! I know ROGERS has a PHONE FINDER function but let's just say that wasn't functional in my instance... we'll leave it at that.
So, phone / device gone!
I am hoping somebody can guide me toward exporting those contacts that are somewhere, somehow existing / resident within DESKTOP MANAGER v4.6 - into some format that I can then use to not have them all lost forever, and then I can re-load them - manually, if need be - to my new phone. I realize they exist but not in any format that I can view / use, right now.
Can anybody help me? I see forums / topics and posts that show how to sync the device in such a way as to save for export, synch and create a CSV file, or save for export to EXCEL, but these all seem to require configuration of the DESKTOP MANAGER and THEN a synch with the device... I don't have the device any longer... it's gone. I never did that before because I hadn't expected the need... dumb me, I know!
Can I salvage the contacts from my DESKTOP MANAGER v4.6 somehow?

Having read some info on these forums, the ONLY thing which I can even think of doing is to possibly try to borrow somebody's no longer needed BB and with it wiped of THEIR contacts, sync it to my DESKTOP MANAGER and then load my contacts onto that other BB... and then re-sync things back from that BB with the proper buttons checked on DESKTOP MANAGER? I don't even know if that would work... and I don't seem to have access to spare / un-used BBs from people... nobody whom I know has one, let alone an 'extra' one!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
First, find the backup data file on your computer. It is normally stored somewhere in the MyDocuments area, but when you ran the backup, you had complete control over the destination folder for the backup data file. Given the Desktop Software version you mention, it likely has an IPD file extension...newer versions of the Desktop Software switched to a BBB file extension, but yours likely is IPD.
Once you find the file, your next step is your favorite internet search engine...the Desktop Software is useless for what you need to do, for it is intended solely as an interface with a BB device...nothing else. Search your favorite Internet search engine for something like "IPD File Extractor" or something similar. There are several out there.
Compare the search results and make your choice -- before you ask, the answer is no...we cannot recommend one over another. You must choose based on your own personal set of circumstances.
Next, obtain that software and use it to extract your data from the IPD file, and save it to a "human readable" format (e.g., .txt, .xls, .csv, etc.).
Once in that is done and your data is in a file format you can use, then your next step is figuring out what you need to do to import to your replacement device. Again, before you ask, there is nothing here in this dedicated BB forum available to help you with that. But, if that device has any import capability, then once you have your data in a usable format, you should be able to manipulate it such that you can format it for import to your new device.

Quicktime Pro HDV export chunky blocks

Hi, I've edited HDV captured material in FCP and exported full res. Then, in Quicktime I open the .mov. It seems to contain chuncky blocks. When I close and open, the same happens, but not in the same places?
When I export the movie from QT 7.5.4 (25) it also shows these blocks, but they're now permanent. Anyone? I've found a similar discussion at Creative Cow: http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/162/868047

Just to follow up, after some more testing.

The glitches happen on a 1080i file exported from FCP when viewing them in QT. BUT when I scrub back frame by frame using the arrow keys, no glitches. They dissappear, meaning they are not "embedded" in the file. If I view the same file in FCP, no glitches at all.
The screenshot is from taking the 1080i file from FCP and exporting from QT at a 720p. Scrubbing back reveals that the glitches are embedded in the file.
From the screen shot you can see that the glitches are overlaying 2-3 frames from the previous cut. It seems to happen 20-40 frames after the cut.
Playing the file back in VLC reveals that about the same time these glitches appear, the video stutters, but does not glitch.
If I down-convert the HDV file to an MPEG through Compressor, no glitches.
I hope this helps as this problem has been bugging me for a while now.

Help with exporting to WHCC using Lightroom

Please help! My brother (professional photographer) is on a 6 month kayak trip and I've been left in charge of 20 years of photography! I have detailed instructions on how to export photographs from the external hard drives, to an online company who will print them. However, I cannot seem to get the export to work after hours of trying!
In Lightshop, I can pull up the photo that I want to export. I was instructed to click EXPORT, and then click WHCC...however, I can't find anywhere to click WHCC. When I use the help function in Lightshop, it directs me to the file menu, where I can click Export to WHCC...however, when I try to do that, it tells me that I've missed an export function and that the file doesn't exist.
I think I'm just missing the place to select WHCC...can anyone please help? I've got to order some photos online (I believe my brother has me set up to use a company called ROES, but not positive).

Are you certain your brother didn't mean you should export the files to a *folder* named WHCC and then upload the contents of that folder to WHCC using their ROES interface?
WHCC does full color management so you will need to know if your brother wants the images to be exported as ProPhotoRGB, AdobeRGB or sRGB. When WHCC generates the print they always use (that last time I asked them) Perceptual rendering intent.
Other questions are:
(1) what size prints?
(2) are *you* to resize the images and perform sharpening or is WHCC to do that?
I'd suggest you call them on Monday if you have questions. They may have a record of previous jobs submitted by your brother.

HELP TO EXPORT ANIMATED GIF AS QUICKTIME FILE

I have keynote 6.2 and have imported an animated gif file within my page presentation which also has a movie file and sound. When I export the file as a quicktime file, the final file does not show the animation at all, it is static?
I have tried different options when exporting as a mov and 4p4 file, neither makes any difference, can someone help please.
I am using the file to import into Imovie, where I am piecing everything together into a movie11.

Thanks for your prompt reply Gary, but the problem is how can I resolve this? Do I import another file type? Can I export to another format other than Quicktime. Someone mentioned changing the frame rate of the animation to either 25 or 30 frames a second, or does this not make a difference?

Help with exporting Minecraft video

Hello. My name is Reynir Aron. I make Minecraft videos and I recently switched from Final Cut Pro 7 to Premiere Pro CS6 and I love using Premiere.
However there is one little problem, when I export the video (even if I do it through Media Encoder) the video looks very smoothed out (for example the text looks really crappy and isn't pixellated).
Can anybody help me? The video is not being scaled up, the source video, my sequence and the export settings are all 1280x720.
By the way, is there any plugin or anything that lets me export using QuickTime Pro 7?

I have an iMac8,1 (Early 2008) with a 2,8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, an ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB and I'm running OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2.

I think my daughter is using FRAPS, but of course not transcoding, just putting that right into Premiere. If your captured file is 30fps, what is the transcoded ProRes file? I don't know if ProRes supports non-video settings, so maybe that is converted to 29.97? But then the edit sequence is 30fps, and I do see an issue - FIELDS is set to LOWER, but should be PROGRESSIVE. That could be causing the jaggies issue on your output.
How did you create the editing Sequence? Try creating a NEW SEQUENCE with the same settings, except make it Progressive, then copy/paste contents of interlaced sequence into the progressive sequence and then Export again, see if that helps. Or just do a short sample to check, to save time.

Help with Exporting to Youtube

I'm a high school math teacher, and I began using PCP2 in January to screencast my lessons. As I prepare for next year, I want to begin exporting automatically to YouTube.
Marcel Borsten graciously wrote a script (posted at http://podcastproducer.org/article.php/20091223131435797) designed to do just that, but I'm having trouble getting it to work. I'm wondering if anyone on the list has successfully deployed and used a youtube workflow as described in Borsten's article. After following the instructions to the best of my (limited) ability, I get this:
Tue May 25 10:07:56 -0700 2010 -- Xgrid Job: 297 is Failed
Following Borsten's instructions, I created a specific Youtube.pwf workflow and then linked to it in another workflow (call it Original.pwf). The Original.pwf Xgrid Job runs and finishes successfully, creating all the expected outputs, but the Youtube.pwf workflow fails at some point.
I've double and triple checked all of my steps, and cannot resolve the issue. Does anyone have any advice? I would be happy to provide additional information if anyone believes they can help me troubleshoot.

Help with exporting forms based data to Excel 2007

I have a user who is attempting to export forms based data to Microsoft Excel 2007 and when he attempts this he receives a message stating that Windows does not recognise this file type (tsv). I am not too familiar with Office 2007 so I am unable to direct this users as to how to correct this issue.
Is someone able to give me the navigation path to help me to assist this user? thanks

Did you verify the file type from Windows Explorer?
1) Right click on My Computer > Explore
2) Go to Tools > Folder Options
3) Click on File Types tab
4) Check if TSV file is defined there or not. If it is not there, click on New and add the File Extension
