Quantity Conversion warnining: different dimensions, no calculations

Hello BI experts,
I have defined a quanity conversion type to convert any weight units to Kgs based on T006 table.
source is from data record. target is fixed to KG.
my record contain data in KG and GM ( gram )
in the output KG records are displayed correct. But the gram records are displayed as 0.000
with a warning message: Quantity unit of measures have different dimensions --> no calculations.
Please advice.

    Hi,
    I am facing one problem regarding the quantity conversion.
    In my report, I have a field for quantity which contains different units like Kg, L, etc
    Now, i want to convert these quantity into Kg -> MT and L -> KL. which I tried from RSUOM by creating the conversion type but it is not helping as the field contains different units.
    Please guide me how I achieve this.
    Thanks,

    HI,
    It should work through RSUOM....What setting di dyou select?
    You should select input currency from data record...

  • Quantity conversion error in net price calculation in BAPI_PO_CREATE1

    I'm creating PO from BAPI_PO_CREATE1 .here i'm getting follwing error
    quantity conversion error in net price calculation.
    plz guide me to remove it.

    Are you using quantities directly entered by the user while calling the function to do the net price calculation? If that is the case, you should use FM CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT to convert the quantity from the external format into the internal one!
    Another possibility is that some customizing is missing for converting quantities in different unit of measures (like the quantity in pieces is known, but the pricing calculation is being done on kilos.. but the convertion between these 2 unit of measures is missing).
    Good luck!

    Hi Jürgen,
    Where in the Material Master can I find the conversion ratio between both units?

  • ME21N--Quantity conversion error in net price calculation

    Hi MM experts,
    Issue: while creating PO, when attempting to add the net price for line item. but system removes the cost and gives the follow error message says "Quantity conversion error in net price calculation".
    The system was not able to convert the order unit into the purchase order price unit. Possible reasons:
    i) the conversion results in a net price that is too high, or
    ii) the conversion factor for the units has not been properly maintained.
    iii) Check whether the units of measure and their conversion factor are correct.
    I have checked material master>unit of measure> 1 PL = 22 KG maintained.
    Can you please tell me how to resolve this issue?
    Appreciated early response.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Suresh,
    Please check on Material Master Data - Accounting 1 tab - Price Unit

  • Quantity Conversion Error in Net Price Calculation

    We are currently using SRM 5.0 ECS where we created a material PO and had a problem with the product not having the language E maintain in the material master. This caused the PO to have status of "error in process"  Once we fixed this issue and tried to reprocess the PO we're not getting the following error message in the Application Monitor:
    No Instance of Object type PurchaseOrder has been created. External Reference
    Puchase Order still contains faulty Items
    Quantity Conversion Error in Net Price Calculation
    Has anyone seen this or know what we can do to resolve this so that the PO gets replicated in R3?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Robert,
    Regarding this backend error E 212 06 Quantity conversion error in net
    price calculation.
    This error is because in the PO Order price unit is empty. And
    quantity is null. So, please enter the quantity and order price unit
    for this PO and order the PO again. Or you can retransfer the
    PO manually using the FM BBP_PD_PO_TRANSFER_EXEC. (for this fm you need
    to input the PO header guid, which you will get it from tx.BBP_PD
    by providing PO number and object type as BUS2201).
    This has worked for other customers.
    Hope this helps,
    Kind Regards,
    Matthew

  • Quantity Conversion in BEX using calculated KF

    Hello all
    Is it possible to apply a Quantity Conversion in BEX, using Restricted or Calculated Key Figure?
    Im trying to apply this solution but the "conversion" tab in the key figure is disabled.
    Thanks in advance for your response.

    Thanks for your response..
    Actually Im using BI7 and for some test, I was trying to create some calculated KF using +the same
    key figure+ but different fixed target unit.
    (I have already made the changes in 0material and activate the standard ODS for that)

  • Conversion between units belonging to different dimensions.

    Hello Friends,
    Is there any standard way available in BI 7.0 to convert unit cubic meter (M3) to Tonnes (TO). I am struggling to convert as both the units belong to different dimensions (M3 -> Volume and TO -> Mass).
    There is a function module in R/3 (MD_CONVERT_MATERIAL_UNIT) which does the required conversion. I am not able to find an equivalent in BI.
    Please assist as this is time critical. Thanks!

  • Quantity conversions using customer exit.

    Dear SDN,
    I have created a Query to display the Sales Qty Actual vs Plan.
    I am getting the values in different dimensions NM3,M3,GLL...I want to display the Query output in Metric Tons.
    In which user exit I have to write the code?
    Please provide the code to convert from NM3,M3,GLL..etc to Metric Ton.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Praveen.K

    Hi Praveen,
    I think routine for keyfigures in update rules is the right plyce. Create a routine for required KF and check u2018Unit Calculation in the Routineu2019 (BW 3.5)
    sample (Assummung 0QUANTITY is desired KF and   0UNIT contensts allocated UOM) :
    * fill the internal table "MONITOR", to make monitor entries
    * result value of the routine
      CASE COMM_STRUCTURE-UNIT."convert value according to unit
        WHEN 'M3'.
          RESULT = COMM_STRUCTURE-QUANTITY * 1000 .
        WHEN '...'.
         RESULT = COMM_STRUCTURE-QUANTITY * x  .
      ENDCASE.
    * result value of the unit
      UNIT = 'TON' ."allocate fixed UOM here 'TON'
    * if the returncode is not equal zero, the result will not be updated
      RETURNCODE = 0.
    * if abort is not equal zero, the update process will be canceled
      ABORT = 0
    x represents factor for conversion from unit provided by comm_structure to 'TON'
    For detailed information please take a look on routine info in editor.
    Good Luck

  • Quantity Conversion Function Module

    Hi,
    I am using BW7.0's feature - Quantity Conversion (TCode: RSUOM).
    I could use it for converting quantity for different unit on the fly during report time.
    Now, I would like to do convert during data upload. Is there any function module that can help?
    Please note that the quantity conversion factor is "Material dependent".
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Chris

    Hi,.
    1) In the BEx Tab page of
    Characteristic 0MATERIAL, maintained the field "Base Unit of Measure" as 0BASE_UOM .
    2) In the BEx Tab page of
    Characteristic 0MATERIAL, maintained the field "Unit of Measure for Char." by click on the New button, it will generate a DataStore Object, which will store information for calculating the conversion factor.
    3) Fill in the DataStore generated with data, using the DataSource 0MAT_UNIT_ATTR.
    Note that we must NOT use the the former infosource technique and update rules for loading data to it. Use transformation and DTP, else the SID could not be loaded to it.
    (I stuck with this problem before..:))
    4) Create a Quantity Conversion Type through TCode RSUOM, the Conversion factor can choose 1,3 or 4, with reference to 0MATERIAL InfoObject.
    5) Then in any query of cube with 0MATERIAL in it, the quantity conversion type defined in step 4 could be use for displaying data in other UOM~

  • Query Designer : Quantity Conversion as per UOM

    Hi gurus,
    I am facing a typical situation here. I have Product Quantity data that I fetch from R3, This has diff UOM based on different product. I know the conversion factor. I have not included the conversion factor in the transformation while loading the data. Hence in the cube, the data is loaded without any conversion.
    Now, in my query, I want that the Quantity data be displayed always in say BOX (Whether at aggregate level, ex. Sales Office level or at a more granular level (product brand level)) it should always be in BOX. Can I make such a modification in my query so that the end result for quantity should always be in BOX.
    thanks n regards,
    Sree

    Hi Sree,
    You can set unit conversion for relevant key figures in the Query Designer.
    For that, you need to create a quantity conversion type first.
    For a BW7.x system, use transaction RSUOM to maintain quantity conversion type.
    It could be defined like this:
    Source unit: from data record
    Target unit: fixed: BOX
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Patricia

  • SAPSCRIPT Quantity Symbol printing different values

    Hi,
    I am generating a Printout & Fax at a time for the Purchase Order output, a SYMBOL which is having a conversion value is printing different values in FAX output. Both the Printout and Fax uses the same Print Program but different sapscripts which have same formatting for printing the conversion value (different scripts but copied one and no changes in the script).
    the following symbol is printing different values:
    Print program:
    data: p_value type ekpo-menge,
             umbsz TYPE umbsz.
    umbsz = marm-umrez / marm-umren.
    p_value = umbsz.
    Script
    &p_value(7.0R)&
    This &p_value(7.0R)& gives different values in Printout and Fax and this difference is not for every document, it is for some documents and there are no changes in conversions also.
    My question is: "Is there any problem in using (7.0R) for datatype menge, I mean restrict the no.of characters and decimals at a time for quantity field type".
    Thanks in Advance.
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
    Try doing a WRITE - TO in your program. Make the variable p_value type char.
    Another suggestion would be to get the value doing a PERFORM xxxxx IN PROGRAM and retrieve the value from there.
    Regards,
    Ernesto.

  • Different aggregation for different Dimensions

    Hello,
    is it possible to have different aggregations on different dimensions.
    I have following situation:
    I have a measure per client and day.
    I'm interested in the maximum per month from the daily sums over clients.
    In the measure properties I can only choose between Maximum and Sum in general but not per Dimensions.
    To clearify what i mean here is some sample data.
    * * Client A * Client B *
    * 2014-11-28 * 7 * 8 * SUM() = 15
    * 2014-11-29 * 6 * 8 * SUM() = 14
    * 2014-11-30 * 6 * 10 * SUM() = 16 <-- monthly max
    * 2014-12-01 * 7 * 8 * SUM() = 15
    * 2014-12-02 * 5 * 12 * SUM() = 17 <-- monthly max
    * 2014-12-03 * 6 * 9 * SUM() = 15
    This data is stored in my fact table with reference to date and client dimensions.
    This example data would have to be reported as:
    /* Report on measure
    * * Measure *
    * 2014-11 * 16 *
    * 2014-12 * 16 *
    * Report on measure per client
    (max per client and month)
    * * Client A * Client B *
    * 2014-11 * 7 * 8 *
    * 2014-12 * 7 * 12 *
    Can this be achieved with SSAS? Didn't find any property for that on the measure.
    Best Regards,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
    According to your description, you want to calculate different aggregation for different dimensions, right?
    Based on your scenario, I tested it on AdventureWorks cube, the query below is for you reference.
    with member [Customer].[Country].[USA & Canada] as
    Aggregate( { [Customer].[Country].&[United States],
    [Customer].[Country].&[Canada]
    member [Measures].[MaxAmount]
    as
    max([Date].[Calendar].currentmember.children,[Measures].[Internet Sales Amount])
    select {[Customer].[Country].&[United States],[Customer].[Country].&[Canada],[Customer].[Country].[USA & Canada]} on 0,
    [Date].[Calendar].[Month].members on 1
    from
    [Adventure Works]
    where [Measures].[MaxAmount]

  • BI 7 Quantity Conversion in Business Explorer

    Hello,
    I'm not getting the result for Quantity Conversion at BEx level in BI 7.
    I Created Quantity conversion type in RSUOM
    All table entries are available in T006 table and the units i'm trying to convert are in the same dimension
    Used this Conversion type in key figure at query level.
    Still the report output shows the unit and value as stored at Infoprovider level.
    Any idea, what could be missing?
    Regards,

    Mahesh,
    Along with Currency conversion, BI 7 has feature for Quantity Conversion.
    I used the simple method of conversion using standard T006 table.
    Having set the property in Query definition for the key figure in Conversions tab, still the quantity is displayed in Original UOM.
    Now i got a warning 'Conversion not possible' and there are no details on that.
    I'm still trying to find out if there is some system setting missing.
    Mr. DON,
    Where can i maintain/check dynamic determination of conv factor.
    I'm trying to convert EA to DZ. these are in same dimension.
