Query about "env- GetByteArrayElements(jImageBlob, 0);"  Returning null

Hi All,
I am calling a C++ method using JNI with a byte array as argument.
The C++ code snippet is:
if( jImageBlob == NULL ) {
          env->ThrowNew( jnullPointerException, "Image buffer is null." );
          return 0;
imageBlob = env->GetByteArrayElements(jImageBlob, 0);
     if (imageBlob == NULL)
     env->ThrowNew( jexception, ImgErrorString("Error Message") );
          goto onError;
This code works fine with normal working conditions. But, with heavy load under multi threaded execution, this call fails with "Error message". As the byte array passes first check for null, it is sure that the contents are not null. Still "env->GetByteArrayElements(jImageBlob, 0);" returns null.
What can be the probable reason here?
Thanks in advance,
Daya

imageBlob = env->GetByteArrayElements(jImageBlob, 0);
if (imageBlob == NULL)
env->ThrowNew( jexception, ImgErrorString("Error Message") );That is certainly wrong. When that null is returned java, by definition, has already thrown an exception.
JNI exception MUST be dealt with via one of the following
1. Clear it
2. Return immediately to java.
You are not doing the above.
Other than that
1. you might want to make sure that the byte array is not being accessed by more than one thread.
2. your code example uses the same var name for completely different types. Hopefully that isn't how your code works.

  • Select query on table rcv_lots_interface is always returning null

    Hi ,
    I need a help on the below issue.
    The issue is after creating PO in Oracle 11i I receive it in MSCA application.
    When we receive it at that point data gets inserted in the table " rcv_transactions_interface " and we have written a trigger on it.
    From the trigger on table " rcv_transactions_interface " we are calling a package and in the package we have select query on "rcv_lots_interface."
    But the select query is always returning null even though we are passing the correct "interface_transaction_id " and also after the "Receiving Transaction Processor" is executed i can see data in the table " RCV_LOT_TRANSACTIONS " for the same transaction.

    Based on reviewing them the workarounds range from dropping the index to setting "_disable_function_based_index" to TRUE.Facinating. It seems to me that if you use the undocumented intitialization parameter you might just as well drop the FBIs too.
    Another hazard of FBIs is the Law of Unintended Consequences. 2 years ago we tried to use one to speed up a query in a PL/SQL package. Worked OK for that purpose, but an unrelated loader on the affected table ran and rand but never finished until the FBI was dropped.

  • How to check the sql:query is return null value

    I have use :
    <sql:query var="sql1" dataSource="${db}">
    select col_name from table_name
    where a=<c:out value="${row.test1}"/>
    and b='<c:out value="${row.test2}"/>'
    </sql:query>
    So, how can I check this statement return null value which is no record within this table?

    The Result should never be null but can be empty. You can check if the Result is empty using an if tag and checking the rowCount property:
        <sql:query var="books"
          sql="select * from PUBLIC.books where id = ?" >
          <sql:param value="${bookId}" />
        </sql:query>
         <c:if test="${books.rowCount > 0}">
         </c:if>http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/tutorial/doc/JSTL7.html#wp84217

  • MDX Query using BottomCount to limit Median calculation returns null

    I'm building a new cube that includes some person age values that aren't useful when summed, but are
    useful when the median is determined. The measure group that contains the measure for the age has a 1-1 relationship with a dimension in the cube because both use the same table as the source. This is important because I use the key attribute of the dimension
    as the set expression in the Median function to prevent any summation before the median is found. Here is the code for the original median calculation:
    MEMBER Measures.[Median Age] AS
    MEDIAN(
    [Placement Dimension].[Id Removal Episode Fact].Members,
    [Measures].[Age At Removal Months]
    This median naturally represents the half-way point in the series of values. My analysts have also requested
    median-type values at the quarter and three-quarter points in the same series. I've been able to accomplish this for the three-quarter point by nesting the TopCount function in the set expression of the Median function to limit the set to the last half of
    the records and then find the median point like this:
    MEMBER Measures.[75th Percentile] AS
    MEDIAN(
    TOPCOUNT(
    [Placement Dimension].[Id Removal Episode Fact].MEMBERS
    ,Measures.[Episode Count] / 2
    ,Measures.[Age At Removal Months]
    ,Measures.[Age At Removal Months]
    However, my attempt to use the BottomCount function in the same way as TopCount to find the quarter point
    in the whole data set by limiting the calculation's set to the first half of the data always returns null. Here is how I've formed the code:
    MEMBER Measures.[25th Percentile] AS
    MEDIAN(
    BOTTOMCOUNT(
    [Placement Dimension].[Id Removal Episode Fact].MEMBERS
    ,Measures.[Episode Count] / 2
    ,Measures.[Age At Removal Months]
    ,Measures.[Age At Removal Months]
    And here is the query that returns the values:
    SELECT
    Measures.[Episode Count]
    ,Measures.[Median Age]
    ,Measures.[25th Percentile]
    ,Measures.[75th Percentile]
    } ON 0
    ,[Date Begin].[Calendar Hierarchy].Year.&[2011]:[Date Begin].[Calendar Hierarchy].Year.&[2014] ON 1
    FROM [POC Cube]
    WHERE
    [Age at Removal Mos].[Age in Years List].[Age Year].&[0]:[Age at Removal Mos].[Age in Years List].[Age Year].&[5]
    I don't know why the end result is always null. I don't have any null values in the data for this measure, and I know what values I should be seeing because I've found the median records manually in results from a SQL Server query. I've tried using TopCount
    and multiplying Measures.[Age At Removal Months] in the TopCount function by -1 to workaround the descending sort, but I still get nulls. I've also tried separating these queries out so the quarter point and three-quarter point calculations aren't run together,
    but I still get nulls for the quarter point calculation.
    I'm open to any help fixing this situation by modifying my current code or by using alternate methods, but the end result has to be dynamic enough to be used as a calculation in the cube. Thanks!

    Really? COUNT never returns NULL; it always returns 0 or a positive integer.
    Do you mean the query results in "no rows selected"?
    Is there any way I can get the value as zero instead of null? Please help.Do you want a query that will produce the same output as the query above, but will produce a single row containing 0 when the query above does not produce anything? That sounds like a job for an outer join:
    WITH    original_query  AS
           SELECT  COUNT(*) AS v_count
           FROM    lab_order_tmplt_test
           WHERE   test_id IN

    SELECT     NVL (o.v_count, 0)     AS v_count
    FROM               dual
    LEFT OUTER JOIN  original_query  o  ON  o.v_count > 0
    ;If you'd care to post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for the sample data, then I could test this.

  • Query returns null pointer as result

    Hi,
    I have a problem retrieving objects with Query. Wenn I lookup an object
    with the following method:
    Query q = pm.newQuery(classObj);
    q.declareParameters("String param");
    q.setFilter(fieldName + " == param");
    ans = (Collection)q.execute(searchValue);
    if (ans.isEmpty())
    return null;
                   Iterator i = ans.iterator();
                   if (i.hasNext())
                        Object obj = i.next();
                        q.close(ans);
                        return obj;
                   throw new IllegalArgumentException("No object with code: '" +
    searchValue + "'");
              catch (Exception e)
                   if (ans != null)
                        q.close(ans);
                   throw e;

    Hi Martin,
    before this problem started to, I have changed the MappingFactory from
    "db" to "file" and then back. I also deleted the jdo_mapping table
    inbetween and reconsturcted it with the mapping tool. From then on, it
    would not find the object anymore. The object that I wanted to get at is
    in the database and an empty object is constructed, which I knew from
    putting a breakpoint in the constructor.
    Because I am not in production yet, I could just delete the database and
    start from scratch. Which cured the problem, but as soon as we will be
    online, that is not an option anymore, I guess.
    Let me know, if you need more help to reproduce this problem.
    Best regards
    Wolfgang

    Can you see if the iterator is returning anything in your bean? You
    should also try setting the SQL logging channel to TRACE (see the
    Logging section of our docs) to see if the SQL generated is valid.

    System.out.println("Error: " + e.getMessage());
         finally {
              db.result.close();
              db.conn.close();
    Everything works well, until getting to the block
              while (db.result.next()){
                   System.out.print(db.result.getDate("DATE", Calendar.getInstance()));
                   System.out.format("\t%,.2f\n", db.result.getFloat("Adj Close"));
    The getDate("DATE", Calendar.getInstance())); always returns null, instead of the date value in the vwo-1.csv.
    Even though I change it to
    java.sql.Date d=db.result.getDate("DATE") and convert to String using .toString(), I still gets nulls. The dollar amount in "Adj Close" field is fine, no problem.
    The .csv fils is downloaded from YahooFinace.
    Can anyone review the code and shed some light as to what I did wrong?
    Thanks alot.

  • JNDI lookup() for sql server jdbc datasource returns null

    Hi,
    I am trying to use a jdbc datasource in tomcat 5 to access a sql server 2000 database. I had many common problems and did found an answer to them in the forums but I'm having one last (I hope) problem. My program is also using a mySQL datasource and it works fine.
    The problem is that my lookup returns null. No exception, just null. It seems that many people had this problem but I didn't found any answer to it.
    This is the lookup code:
        Context ctx = new InitialContext();
        Context envCtx = (Context)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env");
        axaptaDS = (DataSource) envCtx.lookup("jdbc/axapta"); //returns null :(This my context.xml config:
    <ResourceParams name="jdbc/axapta">
        <parameter>
          <name>factory</name>
          <value>com.microsoft.jdbcx.sqlserver.SQLServerDataSourceFactory</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>url</name>
          <value>jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://hostname:1433</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>password</name>
          <value>password</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>maxActive</name>
          <value>4</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>maxWait</name>
          <value>5000</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>driverClassName</name>
          <value>com.microsoft.jdbcx.sqlserver.SQLServerDataSource</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>username</name>
          <value>username</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>maxIdle</name>
          <value>2</value>
        </parameter>
      </ResourceParams>And I also put these lines in my web.xml file:
    <resource-ref id="ResourceRef_1092254277306">
         <res-ref-name>jdbc/axapta</res-ref-name>
         <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
         <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
         <res-sharing-scope>Shareable</res-sharing-scope>
    </resource-ref>Thanks for helping!

    I finally found a remedy to this problem:
    specify this driver instead and remove the entry about the factory in the context's .xml file:
    com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver

  • Non-local searches return "null" results

    I'm creating a Merged help output using AIR Browser Based Help. Said output currently has one major flaw: null search results when viewed over a network.
    Now, I have read through the thread on this forum about people who initially got a "null" search result when searching a local project, but with the search subsequently working, and indeed that behavior is what I was initially seeing. That is, on my local copy of the project, my first search would return "null," and then things would work normally. However, when other users accessed my local project over our network, they never got anything other than "null" results. (Quick aside for relevant information: output was from 64-bit RH9, testing is on FIrefox 13 and I.E. 9) If I move my local copy onto the network, I am no longer successful in searching.
    I have performed the suggested fix on the whfhost.js file, and while it fixed the problem locally-- I no longer see "null" results-- the problem persists for non-local access. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
    Thanks!

    For the benefit of anyone else, this is the solution that was provided by Adobe.
    Open the generated output folder and open whfhost.js file in the notepad application. Search for the following strings in the file. you need to replace this function
    function Query()
      gbAIRSearchString  = goOdinHunter.strQuery;
    g_CurPage = 1;
    context = new HuginContext();
      context.reset();
    context.push( goOdinHunter.query, goOdinHunter,
      processHunterResult, null );
      context.resume();
    With this new function
    function isValidType(obj)
    return ( (typeof(obj)!='undefined')&&(obj!=null) );
    function Query()
      gbAIRSearchString  = goOdinHunter.strQuery;
    g_CurPage = 1;
    if (isValidType(context) && isValidType(context.aTasks))
      while(context.aTasks.length>0)
      context.resume();
    context = new HuginContext();
      context.reset();
    context.push( goOdinHunter.query, goOdinHunter,
      processHunterResult, null );
      context.resume();
    And try running the output and see if you stilll face the null search result problem
    If this problem is fixed, then you can go to the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 8\RoboHTML\WebHelp5Ext\template_stock folder location, and make the similar changes in the whfhost.js file located in this folder.
    It has worked for others so I would first check carefully that you have made the modification correctly.
    If you reverse the change, are you back to square one and get a null result first time?
    The modification was for RoboHelp 8 or 9. You haven't said what version you are using.
    Does it fail with all browsers?
    See www.grainge.org for RoboHelp and Authoring tips

  • Urgent query about copying array of objects to html item

    I have an urgent query about how I can display an array of objects on a html form. The only suitable html item I can see for this is a drop down box. Ideally a combo box would be preferable but I cant find anything like this. Basically the display item needs to contain 3 columns of data and has to display a number of rows. Can anyone tell me how to copy the array of values into a drop down box?

  • FindNode returning Null And XML Not Accepting Special Characters

    Hi All,
    i am trying the get the attribute value in the element "ns4:InfoCFDi" using FindNode method, but the method is returning NULL. I used the same code for other sample as well and was successfull. but for this specific XML file(which is below) I am getting a Null.
    i can get till S:Body, but when i try to use FindNode for ":Body/s4:ResponseGeneraCFDi" I get Null value.
    And I used "S:Body/*[local-name()=" | "ns4:ResponseGeneraCFDi" | "]";
    as mentioned in other post but still no success.
    ==>I Have one more question relating to special characters. I need to use characters such as - ó in my XML to read as well as write. When I try to read i am getting XML parse error and when writing, i cannot open the file properly.
    Your help is much appreciated.

    First of all you have to supply a value you want to search for and this has to be the complete path to the value. You're saying you already tried that, but can you paste the code which you used for that? I don't see the path mentioned in the code you posted.
    *FindNode*
    Syntax
    FindNode(Path)
    Description
    Use the FindNode method to return a reference to an XmlNode.
    The path is specified as the list of tag names, to the node that you want to find, each separated by a slash (/).
    Parameters
    Path
    Specify the tag names up to and including the name of the node that you want returned, starting with a slash and each separated by a slash (/). This is known as the XPath query language.>
    Another option would be this snippet of code:
    &InfoCFDiArray = GetElementsByTagName("ns4:InfoCFDi");
    &InfoCFDiNode = &InfoCFDiArray [1];
    &attValue = &InfoCFDiNode.GetAttributeValue("noCertificadoSAT")
    Warning(&attValue);
    It creates an array of XML Nodes which match the name "ns4:InfoCFDi". Since there's only one in the XML it's safe to assume it will be the one and only node in the array. I've assigned that node to the variable &InfoCFDiNode and use that to retrieve the attribute "noCertificadoSAT" value. The warning message should display the value supplied there.
    Concering the special characters; you will have to change the encoding of the XML. Peoplecode sets this to UTF-8 by default, but doesn't include this in the header. There's a little hack for that somewhere on the web, I'll see if I can find it.

  • Why does getParameter("uri") returns null ???

    Hi !
    JAVA can be rather frustrating and I have run of of dukes. How about IOU ?
    Unfortunately none of the previous questions in the db shed light on my problem.
    I am trying to get at the "uri" and I have the following code fragment :
    package com.developer;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.io.PrintWriter;
    public class proptest extends HttpServlet
      public void doGet( HttpServletRequest req,  HttpServletResponse resp)
        throws ServletException, IOException
        PrintWriter out = resp.getWriter();

    Hi!
    In case anyone stumbles upon this in the database, I worked aroung it by using req.getRequestURI().
    However I still do not know why getParameter() returns null. It would be useful e.g. if you want to display a list of all request params e.g.:
    // stub code follows...
    java.util.Enumeration enum = rea.getParameterNames();
    while (enum.hasMoreElements())
    String name = (String) enum.nextElement();
    System.out.println("Parameter "+name + " " + req.getParameter(name))
    ...For me, nope, all nulls. If it works for you , do tell me.
    Also if you look at the "bugs db" there seems to be a number of issues concerning getParameter().

  • Count(1) returns null in group by

    hi gems..good afternoon..
    I read that the COUNT() function always returns 0 (zero) if there is no matching rows in the table.
    The following code returns the 0 as expected:
    SELECT COUNT(1) FROM book_table
                 WHERE client_id = 10009
                   AND book_id = 5465465
                   AND book_sub_id = 'gfdf'
                   AND amount = 78686But when I used the GROUP BY clause with the query, then it returned nothing:
    SELECT COUNT(1) FROM book_table
                 WHERE client_id = 10009
                   AND book_id = 5465465
                   AND book_sub_id = 'gfdf'
                   AND amount = 78686
    group by client_id,book_id,book_sub_id,amountWhy this is happening..please suggest...

    But Ranit...
    Again I am thinking...the COUNT() is an aggregate function. Now a function should return something(as per my plsql knowledge) and in this case the return datatype is integer. So why isnt it returning zero..Don't think like that sandy.
    The Group By is actually done on an empty result set, so the result is neither 0 nor NULL
    It is an empty result set.
    Check this -- http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2552086/does-count-always-return-a-result

    The "return value of the 'count' function" is ALWAYS a non-null integer, without exception. By mentioning "group by", you're referencing the containing query and changing the subject of "return value" from "count function" to "query's result set". A non-grouped count query produces a result set of a single record containing the return value of count. Alternatively, a grouped count query produces a result set where each record contains a count value. In that case, if there are no groups for count to run on, count is never run and the "query return value" is an empty set.

    Hope this Helps.
