Query all users when they last logged on?

Hi,
how can I run a script to query all users to see when they last logged on. I want to be able to select a cut off date to exclude current users.
Any ideas?

Try using the 'last' command from the Terminal, or read the wtmp logs directly.

How to set status to how it was when you last logged out?

I use AIM in iChat 5.0.3. It used to be that when I clicked on my iChat icon to start it up, my status would automatically be set to whatever it was when I last logged out (available, away, etc.) and the username and password window would pop up by itself and I would just need to enter my password to log in. Now, whenever I start up iChat, my status is always set to offline and I always have to click the drop down status menu bar and click available to get the login window to appear. In my Preferences -> General tab, I've tried "At user login, set my status to Available" both checked and unchecked and neither option has worked. How do I get set it to how it was before so that I don't have to click anything in order for the login window to appear?

In iChat Preferences you need to change two settings
In the General Pane is one about changing the Status to Availble at iChat Start.
The Default is for this to be checked and unchecking it makes your Buddy List login with the last Status set.
The other is in the Accounts section.
Highlight your account
On the right select Account info tab
Check the Box that Says "Use this Account"
If the Accounts Info tab has no Password set you will now get the pop up that asks for it and the Status should be what you last set it as.

Not all users are displayed for log on after a reboot or startup...

Problem summary: Not all users are displayed for log on after a reboot or startup...
This problem only occurs after a fresh start-up or restart. The only users displayed are the initial (admin user) and "Guest". Two other (non-admin) users are not shown for log on.
To work around this problem and get them to log on we have to log on as the admin user, then we can see the other users in the Fast User Switching menu (top right-hand corner of the screen), listed under the current logged on user. After selecting the non-admin user we can log in and use the laptop as normal.
If we lock the screen, use fast user switching or log out all users; all users are available for log in, until a reboot is done; at which point the non-admin users disappear again and we have to log in as the admin user and use fast user switching again.
The laptops are both brand new MacBook Airs. The initial configuration of Mac OS X Yosemite was done using the Apple ID of the purchaser (parent) and then the OS was patched, immediately, through the App store (no further updates available as of the date of this posting). After this Family Sharing was activated and new users set up for the two children who will be using these laptops.
Has anybody else experienced this problem with Yosemite?

Users not enabled for FileVault unlock are only able to log into the computer after an unlock-enabled user has started or unlocked the drive. Once unlocked, the drive remains unlocked and available to all users, until the computer is restarted.
FileVault has to be On.
To Enable the users to be able to unlock FileVault Go to:
System Preferences > Security & Privacy > FileVault ( Tab ) > Click the Lock in the bottom left > Put in your administrator password > Should see an option to Enable Users > Enable User.

I want to show the customer details as well as some customer CRM fields that are applied to the customer. None of these are entered via a form, they would be entered by the client. The customer would need to be able to log in to view the information and get an email alert when it is updated. Help!?

What is this "box"? What is this "folder" you're asking about? You'll likely get a better answer if you use standard terminology.

Meanwhile on my mac book pro, the "icloud" contact is still spinning like its trying to update the rest of the missing contacts. I have let the computer run for 2 days straight and still no progress. Is there a limit to how many contacts I store on "iCloud" I have upgraded to the extra 25 gigs per year. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it, because its also slowing down my mac book pro significantly causing it hard to do any other task on my computer....Any advice or help would be again greatly appreciated.

On the surface, it doesn't sound like you're reaching a limit in the number of contacts you can have.
I would first create a contacts archive (file >> export) for a backup. Then, go to system preferences >> icloud and uncheck contacts. Reboot. Return to those preferences and recheck contacts.
Also, review http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4489 just in case you have some contact cards that are reaching a different limitation.

How to pop up a system message for a specific user when She/He log on SAP

Hi Friends,
As we know SM02 setting will pop up a system message to all users in specific client in a specific period when the user log on SAP system; and we can do the same thing via using function module SM02_ADD_MESSAGE.
But now we want to pop up a message to a specific user ID when somebody log on SAP via this ID, instead of all user IDs in the client. Please do we have any similar traction / function module / class method to to do this job??

Acrobat Reader Xi Crashes for Multiple users when they attempt to "Save As"

I have multiple users here running Windows 8 and Acrobat Reader Xi (11.0.05) and when they click 'save as' to save a PDF they are viewing, acrobat crashes every time.
Is there a resolution to this crashing probelm ?
I have tried uninstalling (using the cleanup tool as well) and reinstalling the program,
I have tried rolling back to an earlier version of Xi
So far nothing has worked.
Any insight or resolution would be greatly appreciated.

Uninstalled Reader 11.0.5
Ran the Acrobat cleanup tool v2
Installed Acrobat reader 11.0.6
Still have the same issue.
Narrowed this down to PDF files that are opened from a network drive.
If I copy the PDF to the local Drive of the PC I can open it and "save as" successfully.
If I open the PDF from the mapped network drive, and then "save as" Acrobat reader crashes every time.
Unfortunately we do all our work from the Shared Network Drives not from our local PC's

Disconnect wireless users when they leave the building

I wanted to know is there any functionality or solution that drops wi-fi users automatically when they leave permitted area, for example when they go out of the shop? This is for restriction of unwanted connections from outside the building to guest wi-fi.

You would have to really survey the area to see where the access points can be placed and then what power should they be. The issue you will face is that the 5ghz attenuate's faster than the 2.4ghz so this might be tricky. Your coverage toward the exterior walls will be poor for your users and that's not a good thing. All you really can do is buy window film that blocks rf and or paint that blocks rf. This will also affect your cellular, etc.

How do you set default programs for all users when deploying Windows 8.1?

I have my Windows 8.1 image set up the way I want including the start screen, theme, etc. But how can I set the default programs for all users. Most of out computers are non-touch and I want the desktop apps (e.g. Windows Photo Viewer), not the store apps
to be the default for opening pictures, videos, etc. Can that be done?

So, I did some research by using "Set Default Programs" app in Windows 8. Then I ran the super ProcMon.exe tool from Sysinternals.com <Thanks Mark!>
After filtering out the junk, I could see some *interesting* writes to the registry:

New for Windows 8 is a dism command: /Get-DefaultAppAssociations that allows you to export a control case from a known good computer. Microsoft the supports importing the exported xml file via GPO. For example, before I changed the file association, .AVI
was pointing to the Modern App, after the change the /export-DefaultAppAssociations shows change to the new app:

How do I display peronalized photo recordsets for seperate users after they have logged in?

I am using Dreamweaver CS3, MacBook Pro Leopard 10.5.6 and MAMP 1.7.
I have created a login system using the instructions from David Powers book The Essential Guide to Dreamweaver CS3, for a photgraphy website.
I have uploaded two pages from my login system login_success.php and username.php.
I am trying to achieve a situation where after the client has logged in successfully, they will be presented with a recordset of their own personal wedding photo's filtered from the image filenames in the database.
The username.php page is displaying one set of wedding photo's for client A, however when I click on client B's username listed in the list menu, then click the link for username.php, client A's photo recordset is still displaying, not client B.
How can I get the right photo recordset to display for the right client? Do I have to create separate recordsets for all of the different clients photos?
Please could someone help me with this, as I am going round in circles.

read your thread title; got the just of your desire and disregarded your post. Use a filtered recordset filtered by session variable of MM_username to differentiate between logged in-users info displayed on page. So database table should have a column for username id and you simply filter your recordset based off the session variable of the user id and there you go - your recordset results will be displayed based off logged in users' id.

Certain drives are grayed out from the user when they try to access files

I partioned the main HD with SL server. The main partition holds the OS and other related software, left plenty of space for growth. The second partition I created 2 folders that have in one Indesign files, the other images. When certain users try to log in it's grayed out as if it's mounted on the desktop, which it's not. When try again it shows up. All other volumes that are not part of the partition have no problems. Could it be the fact that Im using the Main HD partioned? This problem is occurring when the designers need to gain an image to place in Indesign.

I'd be looking at permissions issues first.

How to notify users when they are timed out?

So I am a developer for fortune 500 company and the network infrastructure team came to me with an odd request for an application that taps into Anyconnect. I find it hard to believe that this functionality doesn't exist.
So here is the scenario. We have Anyconnect set up to not have an idle timeout. However we have it set up to disconnect after 12 hours.
Here is the problem. When the end user meets that 12 hours, it just disconnects on them. There are no warning messages, no messages they have been disconnected. Just the connection is terminated.
So my question is there any way to set this up to notify the user they have been disconnected and need to reconnect. Is there a way to notify them in advance that they will be disconnected in say 30 minutes?
They want me to create an application that periodically checks the connection time by executing
C:\Program Files (x86)\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client>vpncli stats traffic
Getting the time connected then if they are nearing the timeout time then start presenting the user with a warning.
So that's basically my question. Is there no way to set this up in Anyconnect? If we are supposed to see these messages is it something our team might have disabled?
We are using Anyconnect 3.1.01065 on Windows XP and Windows 7

Actually yes, at least in our environment. Using Citrix applications and VT Terminal applicaitons they need a constant connection. If the user disconnected say via an Idle Timeout then their sessions into these applications can and will hang. Not only that the older VT terminal sessions if hung durring a process that locks records or tables then it is locked for everyone. They have to call our helpdesk and have them kill the user. Citrix gets a little wacky as well if the user just blinly disconnects. So idle timeouts are actually a bad thing. Also a user might through a terminal session or though a citrix connection start a long run transaction. For example a blueprint sent off to a render farm could take 3-4 hours to render some have even take 10 hours. So a user may start a process and then go away especially on the weekend.
So while there are issues with the internet in general that can cause disconnects most of this software will try reconnecitng from the server to the client everal times before finally giving up. So a quick break in internet connectivity is not an issue, a idle timeout where it doesn't reconnect until the user returns doesn't work.
