Query - calculate quarter-to-date?

Hello
Trying to "do the math" - getting nowhere fast.
<cfset FirstDayOfQuarter = ?>
<cfset LastDayOfQuarter = #CreateODBCDate(Now())#>
SELECT etc.
WHERE ((order_create_date BETWEEN #CreateODBCDate(FirstDayOfQuarter)# AND #CreateODBCDate(LastDayOfQuarter)#))
I'm sure there is more than one way to accomplish this, and CF has #Quarter(Now())# but that result just dispalys what quarter you happen to be in now.
Any help would be appreciated.....
Thanks- Norman

We have a very useful table in our data warehouse called period.  The primary key is the date and other fields include fiscal year, fiscal quarter, fiscal period, holiday, and a few more.  You might want to consider something similar.

  • Calculate Quarter within Date Range

I have question regarding a date range.  I created a formula like so
    {SO_SalesOrderHistoryHeader.OrderDate} >=DateValue (2008,04,01) and {SO_SalesOrderHistoryHeader.OrderDate}<=DateValue (2008,06,30)
I get my "True" which is fine, my problem is, what happens when it goes to the next year? Or I want to look at a previous year?  Do I have to go back and edit my formula?
Or is there a way to tell my formula to go by whatever year is entered?

You can use the date range but the problem I forsee with it is which date are you going to use?  The start date or end date?  The choice also determines which date to use if the two dates span across years.  For example, if your date range is 2008-10-01 to 2009-03-31.
If the above situation will not occur, then you can use the dates of your date range thus:
Modify your formula thus to use the year of the start date of your date range
    {SO_SalesOrderHistoryHeader.OrderDate} >=DateValue (year(minimum(?date range})) ,04,01) and {SO_SalesOrderHistoryHeader.OrderDate}<=DateValue (year(minimum(?date range})) ,06,30)
Modify your formula thus to use the year of the end date of your date range
    {SO_SalesOrderHistoryHeader.OrderDate} >=DateValue (year(maximum(?date range})) ,04,01) and {SO_SalesOrderHistoryHeader.OrderDate}<=DateValue (year(maximum(?date range})) ,06,30)
Hope this made things clear as mud

    Hello,

  • How do I calculate Year to Date?

    Dear Colleagues,
I need to calculate Year to Date-revenue. Date is a prompt input, so the customer can choose which ever day he wants. How can I get revenue YTD based on the input? Is this a BODI assigment more than a BO assignment?
Looking forward to give you some points!
    Regards Silje

    Hi Silje,
Normally you would build objects like this in designer (oracle syntax):
    sum(case when tab.datecolumn
    between (@prompt('give ytd date','D',,mono,free)-to_number(to_char(@prompt('give ytd date','D',,mono,free),'ddd'))
    and @prompt('give ytd date','D',,mono,free) then tab.amountcolumn
    end)
So basically sum all the amounts only if they are between the start of the year and the given date.
You use simple date manipulation to get to the right when condition, it can be based of a prompted date,
but also of the sysdate (current date).
There are dozens of variants here, you can build
year to date amounts (this year, last year, given year),
period amounts (given period, current period, last full period),
week amounts (current week, last week, last x weeks), full year amounts, etc.
    you get the idea...
So get your wish list ready and talk to your designer...
    Hope this helps,
    Marianne
P.S. should you wish to do it in the report, use a prompted date object in the query & select the date to compare in the query (note that you might get an awful lot of row back here)
    sum(<amount object> where (<date object> between <given date>-ToNumber(FormatDate(<given date>,"ddd")) and <given date>)

  • Variables for Fiscal year YTD, MTD and Quarter to data

    Hello Gurus,
I have a fiscal year that runs from September to August. Is it possible to create a customer exit variable for Fiscal year YTD, fiscal year MTD and fiscal year QTD (quarter to date) based on sy-datum and not though user entry.
If yes, then how should I restrict my key figures so that the user don't have to enter any date and the varaibles derive the data based on sy-datum.
Looking forward to your expert advices
    Thanks,
    Rishi

    Hi Rishi,
I understand your query some extent,You can create Characteristic varaible with processing type  Customer exit for fiscal year MTD and fiscal year QTD (quarter to date) based on sy-datum.
If you want to see fiscal year MTD and fiscal year QTD  values in the column level, you have to create Text variable with replacememnt path.
    Do as follows.
    1) Create Characteristic varaiable  with processing type Customer exit. Search for required code in the SDN.
    2) Create the restricted keyfigure on required keyfigure.  Restrict it on fiscal year MTD and fiscal year QTD  with Char variable to enter year value.
3)After maintaining the restricted keyfigure  (In the same step ) Create a text variable to get the value populated with the year specified with the processing type Replacement path with characteristic Fiscalyear.
I hope above steps definetely help full for you.
If any case you need  help let me know.
    Thanks,
    Chandu.

  • How to calculate the 'real data of arrival' in PO item

    Hi,
Confirmation control keys with control type u201CDAu201D are MRP relevant
    1.     = New field time of transportation in calendar days
    2.     = Confirmation control type u201CABu201D (order confirmation)
    3.     = Confirmation control type u201CLAu201D (shipping notification)
    4.     = Confirmation control type u201CDAu201D (Date of arrival)
When data 1-3 has been changed = 4 will be calculated again.
Program requirements to calculate the u201Creal data of arrivalu201D:
    1.     When 1 >0 days then create 4 directly after placement of 2 (2 can be placed manually or automatically)
    2.     4 must be calculated: AB delivery date 2 + calendar date amount 1 = arrival date 4 (MRP gets a confirmed delivery      date by vendor plus transportation time)
    3.     When changes in 1 then change 4 (add calendar days to arrival date DA)
    4.      When changes in 2 then change 4 = u201Cnewu201D delivery date 2 plus calendar days 1 = new arrival date 4
    5.     When 3 u201CLAu201D is entered (manually/automatically) then calculate: shipping date LA 3 plus calendar days 1 = new arrival date in 4
    6.     When 1 has been changed then calculate 4 new (Check is 2 existing then use 2, check is 2 + 3 existing then use 3)
    7.     When 2 or 3 has been changed quantity then also update quantity in 4
    8.     When 2 has been canceled then cancel 4, too
    9.     When 3 has an inbound delivery document no. in place then copy the same no. in the inbound delivery field 4 and in the new column in MRP (MD04, see MRP view below)

  • How can I create a query with web service data control?

I need to create a query with web service data control, in WSDL, it's query operation, there is a parameter message with the possible query criteria and a return message contains the results. • Query to get the data of all the columns in a table except any one column

Can anyone please tell how to write a query to get the data of all the columns in a table except one particular column..
    For Example:
Let us consider the EMP table.,
From this table except the column comm all the remaining columns of the table should be listed
For this we can write a query like this..
    Select empno, ename, job, mgr, sal, hiredate, deptno from emp;
Just to avoid only one column, I mentioned all the remaining ( 7 ) columns of the table in the query..
As the EMP table consists only 8 columns, it doesn't seem much difficult to mention all the columns in the query,
but if a table have 100 columns in the table, then do we have to mention all the columns in the query..?
Is there any other way of writing the query to get the required result..?
    Thanks..

Your best best it to just list all the columns. Any other method will just cause more headaches and complicated code.
If you really need to list all the columns for a table because you don't want to type them, just use something like...
    SQL> ed
    Wrote file afiedt.buf
1  select trim(',' from sys_connect_by_path(column_name,',')) as columns
      2  from (select column_name, row_number() over (order by column_id) as column_id
      3        from user_tab_cols
4        where column_name not in ('COMM')
      5        and   table_name = 'EMP'
      6       )
      7  where connect_by_isleaf = 1
      8  connect by column_id = prior column_id + 1
      9* start with column_id = 1
    SQL> /
    COLUMNS
    EMPNO,ENAME,JOB,MGR,HIREDATE,SAL,DEPTNO

    Hi
I have an immediate requirement from my client as following.
I have prompts : Year, Month,Quarter and Date between
When the user selects an year --> then the headcount is calculated as following either Annulized/Monthlyor quarterly
HC= Sum(headcount of each day in that selected year) / No of days in the year
Similarly for Month,Quarter and date between.
If this is computed then I can apply the same logic for FTE calculation.
Any inputs or help greatly appreciated.

  • Query based on a date range

I want to query based on a date range. I wrote the following EJB QL:
"select object(a) from ActionItems as a where a.dueDate

But when I deployed the application to Oracle's EJB server, I got the following error:

  • Failed to parse SQL query: ORA-01403: no data found

I'm going to post and answer my own question in the hope that others will not have to struggle with this error.
Using a report of the type PL/SQL Function Body Returning SQL and using generic columns you may run into this error
    failed to parse SQL query:
    ORA-01403: no data found
The SQL will run stand alone but the report fails.
There is a setting just below the source you should check:
"Maximum number of generic report columns"
In my case the number of columns was dynamic and when it exceeded the number set as the maximium number of generic columns I received the 1403 error.
    Hope this helps someone.
    Greg

Thanks for much for the pointer. For anyone else struggling with this too, I found that my generic columns had unordered themselves. Reordering them solved the problem for me.

  • Payment terms should calculate Payment due date based on working days

    Hi Experts,
As we know that standard SAP calculates Payment due date= base line date + number of days maintained in payment terms. In this payment days are considered as calendar days and not the working days.
Example: If base line date is Thursday, payment terms says 3 days then payment due date is calculated as Sunday ( which is not a working day as per the factory calendar I use). The requirement is that payment date should be calculated as following Tuesday considering Satuarday and Sunday are not working days as per the calendar.
Can you please suggest how can we achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Ravi

You can not acheive from config pooint of view but you can use BADI and get the solution
use BAdI MRM_PAYMENT_TERMS to set terms of payment
You can use this Business Add-In to change the following fields for the
terms of payment in the invoice document header:
o  ZFBDT: Base date for due date calculation
    o  ZBD1T: Discount days 1
    o  ZBD1P: Discount percentage 1
    o  ZBD2T: Discount days 2
    o  ZBD2P: Discount percentage 2
o  ZBD3T: Deadline for net condition
o  ZLSPR: Key for payment block
