Query Cell With FMS

Hello Experts,
I am trying to use an FMS/UDV to access a particular cell in the following fashion:
SELECT $http://$3.2.NUMBER WHERE $http://$3.1.0 = 'Mileage'
This will only work if
a) when UDV attached to a field in the grid, the condition is met on the same row
or
b) when UDV attached to an item outside of the grid, the condition is met on row 1of the grid
Can anybody advise me how to access a cell from another row within the grid, or access rows apart from row 1 from outside of the grid?

On our webtemplates we have several mandatory fields. Which fields are mandatory depend on several criteria (e.g. webtemplate and choosen filter values)
We want to mark all row labels of the queries with '*' if it is a mandatory field. The rows of our queries are implemented as a structure.
Is it possible to include a Java Script in the webtemplate which calls a function module in backend to get the information which row is mandatory? Depending on this information the Java Script should change the row label of the query (add '').*
If this is possible how can we call the JavaScript?
How can we access the query cells (row description) with the Java Script?

Hi Johannes,
This is possible. Whether or not you should do it is another question. Anyway, let me try to answer your technical question without understanding the functional context of it. Here are parts of the solution:
1) A Custom Web Item to perform the analysis of checking which field is mandatory or not. The web item can output this information in a hidden DIV tag.
2) A JavaScript function to read the DIV tag that was generated in #1 and perform the necessary changes.
Tips:
You can use a library called jQuery to easily navigate the HTML DOM and make your changes at runtime.

Problem with FMS triggering from the FatherCard field

Hi All,
I'm attempting to populate a UDF when a user updates the "Consolidating BP" field on the Business Partner form however, this doesn't seem to be working.
I initially used a simple query for the FMS to prove that the field had recognised it had been populated (using the query "SELECT $[OCRD.FatherCard]") and this seemed to work fine. The issue is the field used to trigger this when amended, as neither "Consolidating BP", "Father Card" or any other field I can find that may look to be related appears to trigger the FMS and populate the UDF.
I've attempted to link this with any field that looks remotely like it could refer to the "Consolidating BP" field e.g. "Channel BP", "Linked Business Partner" and "Other Receivables/Payables" in addition to many other random fields, but with no luck.
Does anyone know of issues linking FMS's to this field on the BP screen? Or alternatively why this may be an issue?

Hi,
Not all fields in the form can trigger FMS update. Only few key columns have such ability. FatherCard is not among them.

Need a program to get all the query elements with UIDs with EN and Other language texts, of a BW query.
We are doing a global implementation.
We are implementing Translations in French.
We need to see, the list of all UID's of a query, their EN texts and the FR texts.
Tried a bit, we are having the problem in getting the UIDs of the structure elements.

The laptop's too far away from the router to be connected by ethernet. It's all wifi.
No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?
I'm glad that you've all understood my ramblings and taken and interest, thanks The way I see it, I can't be the only netbook user these days looking for this kind of convenience, and I certainly won't be once chrome and moblin hit the market.

How do I create a shortcut to fill cells with the same background colour

I have recently starting using Numbers, being an Excel user for years.
I often fill cells with a yellow background to highlight them.
In Excel you can do this from a simple colour menu in the toolbar at the top.
I have found no quick and easy way to do this in Numbers.
Any advice would be appreciated.

As far as I can tell there's no direct equivalent of the little paintbucket button in Excel that remembers the last colour you filled with.
One quick and relatively easy way to achieve it would be with an AppleScript:

How to use ADF Query search with EJB 3.0

The steps to create query search with ADF Business Components says:
"+From the Data Controls panel, select the data collection and expand the Named Criteria node to display a list of named view criteria.+"
But with EJB, I'm not able to find Named Criteria node. Can we use ADF query search component with EJB? If yes, can you please show me some example, tutorial etc.?

View Criteria in ADF Query Panel with Table-Class Cast Exception

I am getting Class Cast Exception when using view criteria for ADF Query Panel with Table. The version I am using is 11g Release 1(11.1.1.2.0)

I'm using JDev 11.1.1.3.0 as you suggest the error is no longer present in the latest version.
I can pick my query from the "Saved Search" pick list on the QueryPanel list of queries just fine, and it sets up the filter properly, but when I press the "Search" button, I get the same reported error...

BW Authorizations - Query variable with processing mode as "customer exit"

Hi,
Iam new to BW authorizations and have not yet worked on customer exit before. I was going through the documentation at various sites but I could not get the end to end description on how the query process( when using a variable for an InfoObject) works in case of customer exit.
Let's assume that I am using a query variable with processing mode as "customer exit" and at the exit I write some code to extract user's authorizations from a z table. if this is the case, then when an end user runs a query,how will the the system know what value needs to be filled in the variable for the requesting user. Are the user details also sent to the code along with the query variable? If so how. If I mis-understood the process then forgive me and let me know the correct process.

customer exit variables need programing by user. so if you create a customer exit variable, you got to right a program which extracts values into this variable. we can do what ever we want in program, SAP will not deal anything ´with customer exits.

Numbers: how do I turn on the feature that fills the cell with typing that was previously used? The previous version had this feature. I could type the first letters of a name in a cell and the entire name would automatically appear.

Numbers: how do I turn on the feature that fills the cell with typing. In the previous versions, I could type a name or word and then a list of names/words with the same letters would appear. I could choose the name/word to enter into the cell. This saved many strokes. If I was typing a word with only one like it previously entered, that word would appear, grayed, and I could simply tab to the next cell, automatically entering that word in that cell. Is this feature in this version of Numbers? The autofill tab 1)I can't turn it on and 2) it doesn't seem to do the same thing.

The developers failed to propagate that feature from version 2 to version 3. I believe it is on the short list of things to be restored in May 2014 or so.

Iam using a table in numbers to plot daily graph lines. If I fill a cell with a text box at say zero it plots the graph. I can't actually set the cell value until the actual day but the graph plots it at zero when I don't want it to plot anything. Is tho

The answer is (sort of) in your subject, but edited out of the problem statement in the body of your message.
When you use a stepper or a slider, the value in the cell is always numeric, and is always placed on the chart if that cell is included in the range graphed by the chart.
But if you use a pop-up menu cell, you can specify numeric or text values in the list of choices for in the menu. Numeric values will be shown on the chart. Text values will not.
For the example, the values list for the pop-up menu was:

The first pop-up was set to display Choose, then the cell was filled down the rest of the column. Any text value (including a single space, if you want the cell to appear blank) may be used instead of Choose.
For charts with negative Y values, the X axis will not automatically appear at Y=0. If your value set will include negative values, I would suggest setting the Y axis maximum and minimum to the maximum and minimum values on your menu list, rather than letting Numbers decide what range to include on the chart. Place a line shape across the chart at the zero level, and choose to NOT show the X axis.

When you describe the "double" line are you talking about something like this?
If so this is only selecting an edge of a cell. You still have to select:
1) Line style using the menu to the right of the one I have circled (currently "Thin")
2) Line width using the menu to the right of the previous one and, finally,
3) the line color using the menu to the right of the previous one
Even so I have not found a way to copy cell border formatting so I ALWAYS wait until the very end to add border formatting.

Numbers point to a cell with different formatting to create conditional format

Hi all, not sure if this has been brought up but my search efforts haven't found anything. I know conditional formatting is not supported in IOS numbers but I saw a buddy do a little trick a while ago and I've been trying to replicate it. On his iPad, he created a numbers spreadsheet that had a logic function (=if). And if that function was true it pointed to another cell with different formatting. The result was, the cell would become the same format as the cell it was pointing too. This created the effect of a conditional format in a sense. I can get this to work with limited effect, only if the cell is a "text" cell and not a formula. As well the background colour doesn't get picked up, only the format of the cell text itself. I'm trying to get in touch with him for help but in the mean time does anyone have any experience in this kind of method?

If A > B, then A-B, otherwise make it equal this other cell (D1 for example)

And in that d1 cell I would make another formula that also does the same subtraction (a1-b1) however knowing it will be a negative number this time, I paint the cell bright red and hopefully the original cell will then look the same since it is now equal to this one.
Unfortunately it looks like this wont work. The closest thing to doing this trick I have found is pointing to a cell formatted as text, such as a blank cell. Then the original cell takes on the formatting characteristics of the text cell. The problem is the text cell is useless since it can't do any sort of math. I can't even set the cell to simply equal another one and format it as text only. So far it looks like the only conditional type of trickery I can do is make the numbers disappear by pointing to a blank text cell.

I build Cascading Lists for Query Screens with ADF Business Components. When I to select master list first working fine, but when I to select master list second returned error : JBO 25013 : Too many objects match the primary key oracle.jbo.key[CN]. CN dependences with key to detail list (Countries in this case). Please help me.
