Query description display

When executing queries directly to the Explorer browser, the Explorer tab shows the query's technical name, not its description.
Where is the customising setting that enables it to show the query description?

Yes I understand but that is not what I mean.
1. I have assigned a document to a certain query element in the BW metadata repository. This document contains a short report description and the purpose with it.
2. Now I want to display this information within a "information field" under the information tab when running a report.
Is it possible to display this information with a standard sap text element web item?

some of the description of object ID for job master query is displayed in german language although the language is set as english.This happens in production system.wat may be the issue with this....

Query Description not displaying in Bex Template

Hi all,
I have created a Template in Bex Analyser in the Design mode of a Workbook. I have assigned this workbook template as the Default Template for all the Queries by selecting it in Global Settings. I closed this workbook template and opened a query. I am getting the template embedded in the query as i designed but the problem is the Query Description is not displaying correctly. In the Query, it is showing the Workbook Description in the header instead of Query Description.
Where should i change it? Help me in fixing this. Thanks.

Hi,
you should use an Info Field WebItem to display the query name or description in your Webtemplate.
Parameter in InfoField: General Text Elements for a Data Provider (GENERIC_TEXT_ELEMENT).
You use this parameter to choose the generic text element that is to be displayed:
● Query Name (QUERY)
● Query Description (QUERY_DESCRIPTION)

Text valriable in Query Description is not working in Bex Broadcaster

Hello Experts,
I am using Bex broadcaster setting to displaying Query Description through text variable availabe as <OBJECT_DESCRIPTION> in subject of boradcasted mail.
In Query Description I have used text variable at the end to display previous month/year i.e "Report &ZPREV&" .
Text variable with description is working fine in RSRT/ Analyzer, I am able to see description as "Report 201012" but the same description displays "Report &ZPREV&" in the subject line of broadcasted mail i.e. text variable is not getting assigned with desired value and technical name appears.

this problem may arise due to non-assignment of text variable to the any of the characteristics you using the year so, REFER THE TEXT VARIABLE TO THE FISCAL YEAR . WHICH IS IN TIME CHARACTERISTICS.
HAVE YOU CREATED ANY OFFSET VARIABLE, CREATE A VARIABLE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR AND CREATE OFFSET TO THE VARIABLE AS -1 THEN YEAR WILL YEAR-1 , THE TEXT VARIABLE YOU CREATED WILL REFER TO THE FISCAL YEAR SO THE PREVIOUS YEAR VALUE OF THE TEXT VARIABLE WILL THE YEAR = YEAR - 1.

Bi7 Variable screen, need to show query description

i upgraded workbooks from bw 3.5 to BI 7
workbook contains 5 queries in 5 different worksheets
now when i refresh the query, the variable screen shows like this
dp_1 ztst_1
dp_2 ztst_2
dp_3 ztst_3
,,,,,,,,, etc.,
dp_1,2,3 are for dataprovider 1,2,3
ztst_1,2,3 are queries technical name.
i dont want this
for all users i want them to see QUERY DESCRIPTION next to dp_1,2,3
there is no way i can rename dp_1,2,3 if i upgrade a workbook
HOW TO DO THIS?

you have to do it for all queries
At first u still see the Technical name only......
if you refresh the query again or change variable, then u notice the difference.
close the workbook or close the query this setting is change
now you reopen the query and workbook, same process to follow

A SETTING THAT BY DEFAULT DISPLAYS QUERYS DESCRIPTION ALWAYS IN VARIABLE SCREEN FOR EVERY QUERY/WORKBOOK.

How do you have more than one parameterized Query to display "All"?

I am using:
Jdeveloper 9.0.5.2
Oracle Database 9.2.0.1
Toplink
Struts
I have been able to create a parameterized query to display an html read only table.
I populated a dropdown list with values from the database
and the values I select will be the parameters to my read only table.
The drop down list is on the same page as the read only table.
I have all this working but I also need to hard code an option in the Drop down to "All"
to represent all values of this parameter.
I was able to trick the jsp page using two read only tables
and displaying the one with the parameterized query when a parameter other than "All" was chosen
and then display the other only when "All" was chosen.
This does not seem the best way to do it.
What if I had more than one parameter and I wanted to show "All"
the values of one and a certain values for another.
I would then need at least 4 read only tables.
How do I accomplish this in an easier way?

Warning pop up before query results display

Hi,
Iam getting one pop up Box before query results display in that box I am getting around 10 messages like below.
*Warning period 00000000- No vaild translation date to specify (ZMRATECMN)"
after I click on the CLOSE tab on that box it is displaying query results.
It seems this is warning related to currency traslation.
How to avoid this pop up box display with the messages.Please help me.

You can supress the messages in RSRT. Select your query and click the button warnings button in toolbar. There you can see all the messages. select the check boxes of the corresponding messages you want to supress and click save.

I see that you have posted this exact question in another forum for CM12, however this is an CM07 forum.
Are you CM07 or CM12?

If you are CM07, this is NOT a simple how exactly do you detect that a computer is a VM? You can guess by looking at the manufacturer name but it is only a guess.

Why does the Query Result display "X" as a result

Hello All,
I have a query in which there are 6 Characteristics and 1 calculated key figure. But when the query is executed the query result displays as "X" in the column against all the 6 characteristics.
Can anybody provide solution as to why the result displays "X" as a result.

Hello all,
Everybody answered it correctly. But when i debugged the query, i did not get any calculation which is getting divided by 0 and there were no mixed units of measurements. Probably it was an erroneous transport earlier. I only created and request again and transported the query from dev and the query is running fine.

Arabic description displayed in reverse format

DEAR ALL
In my smart output ARABIC DESCRIPTION displayed in reverse format that means it displays in LTR format but i need it in RTL format. If i reverse the description numbers goes to reverse.How i display it in RTL format.

The language key of the form must be Arabic(AR). Also you need to use device type ARWSIN or SWINCF to create the spool and print.
In the smartform editor, do you use the Unicode MS Word as the editor?

Query to display BOMs Header and Item

Hello SAP gurus
I am trying to create a query to display BOMs with header and item. For that I am using tables MAST, STKO and STPO.
The table join is:
MAST -> STKO -> STPO
MAST - WERKS, STLNR and STLAL
STKO - STLNR and STPOZ
The system dont show anything...
Can someone help me?

Yes, it works but...
If I have 2 alternatives, the system show everything even if i select alternative 1 or 2.
I am missing something... because system is showing all alternatives...

I need query for displaying following:
Adjusted A/R Balance:-
Sum of all open Receivables transactions for the Bill To address for a :Particular_Customer. Total of all open items (Invoice, Credit Memos, CLAIMS, ON ACCTS, UNAPPLIED, DEBIT MEMOS) PLUS any orders that have been approved but not yet invoiced.

Credit Tolerance:-
Percentage of Credit Limit that is the allowed tolerance for exceeding the credit limit. Determined by the following calculation: (Exposure Credit Limit ((Credit Tolerance + 100)* Credit Limit / 100) – Credit Limit)/Credit Limit.
