Query execution - RSRT - Abap Web - Several Logon prompts

Hi,
I am trying to execute a query in RSRT transaction after choosing ABAP Web option. When I click on the abap web button, it opens a new browser window
http://<server> : 80NN/SAP/BW/BEX?&QUERY=ZRF490N , but with a logon screen. I try to logon with my abap credentials, but it repeatedly asks for the credentials. If I say Cancel, it allows me to execute the query.
What would have gone wrong? FYI, I have already checked the service /sap/bw/bex in SICF transaction, and it remains standard as in other systems.

Hi,
Please can set up the anonymous service in SICF refer to SAP Note 653099
and maintain an anonymous user for the service Mime according to the SAP
Notes 516884 and 487456 in order to avoid that logon request.

ABAP Web Dynpro logon in GP

Hi,
In a GP I've added ABAP Web Dynpro components. They require a login to our ERP system to retrieve data. Is there any way to have them automatically logon to the ERP system so you don't have to enter credentials in the GP Runtime?

The portal is completely in shambles as it is, however sign-ons and etc. aren't necessary. I have all the permissions I need, and my logon should more than suffice to do anything as the portal is connected to the R3 and I'm on the same used I have there.
However, the GP Runtime asks my log/pw the first time. And only the first time ... So I'm assuming there's some setting for this?

BI BEX Query execution from ABAP into a File w/ Text

We are currently running BI 2004s and have a requirement from a user to load a file (preferably excel but a csv or txt file would also work) on a server with the results of a BEX Query and they need the format to look exactly like the Bex results including the columns for the char. text that are specified in the Bex query properties. If we could run this ABAP program in background and foreground - that would be a big plus.
I have searched and reviewed many of the FM, programs and transactions in this forum to do something like this but the text is always missing.
Any suggestions (the simpler the better) would be appreciated.

Yes, I did try RSCRM_BAPI. It looks very promising but the text is not there. Example - Business area 9160 shows up but the text for it "SAFLEX" does not and this text does show up in BEx.

Query execution time

Dear SCN,
I am new to BOBJ Environment. I have created a webi report on top of bex query by using BISC connection. Bex query is build for Vendor Ageing Analysis. My bex query will take very less time to execute the report (max 1 min). But in case of webi is takeing around 5 min when i click on refresh. I have not used any conditions,filters,restrictions are done at webi level all are done at bex level only.
Please let me know techniques to optimize the query execution time in webi. Currently we are in BO 4.0.

Opening 7.0 Query in ABAP Web

Hi All,
From 7.0 Query Designer if we press the execute button, it is going to the portal (Java Web) to execute the query. But we dont have the portal installed in our system.
Is there any way we can make the settings so that if we press execute button in 7.0 query designer and the web analyzer opens in the ABAP web and not in JAVA web?

Pls find some SAP notes:
1.Queries created or adapted with the SAP NetWeaver 2004s BEx Query Designer will still appear in the Open Dialog of the 3.x tool but they cannot be opened anymore.
2.For those scenarios where customers do not want to use the SAP NetWeaver 2004s BEx Query Designer, SAP ships a 3.x version of the BEx Query Designer in addition to the SAP NetWeaver 2004s BEx Query Designer.
3.New capabilities are only implemented in the SAP NetWeaver 2004s Query Designer.
4.Query Views that were created before will still run after a query has been changed with the new BEx Query Designer.
In general, query views do not need to be migrated.
5.The new BEx Analyzer gives access to InfoProviders, queries and query views but not to query views created with the new BEx Web Analyzer. On the other hand, query views created with the BEx Analyzer are available within the new BEx Web Analyzer.
6.Several Features of the new BEx Query Designer and BEx Web (e.g. in the area of exceptions and conditions) are not available in the new BEx Analyzer.
7.SAP does not recommend using NetWeaver 2004s queries and query views in the old 3.5 BEx Analyzer.

Bex Query on ABAP WEB

Dear Experts,
When we go to T-code RSRT and give the technical name of the query and afer that when we select the ABAP WEB option the query goes to internet explorer.
After that one variable selection screen pops up now my question is how can we have option of saving the variant on that variable screen by default.
I searched on forums and google but i didn't get any relevant information.As far as i understand then we have to give some template id in that link which is generated when we click on ABAP WEB.
Please help me on that.Once i am done with that then i have a requirement to dynamically update the variants and broadcast to different user.
Anyways for that i will open a new thread to get the clarifications on same.
Your valuable inputs are welcome.

Hi,
Saving Query Variants
       1.      Open a query in a workbook that contains variables.
       2.      After you select the variable values for your query, (see Changing Variable Values), choose Save as Variant to create a new variant.
       3.      Enter a description and a technical name for the variant.
If you set the Save as User-Specific Variant indicator, the variant is only available to you. If you do not set the indicator, everyone who opens the query can use the variant.
If you set the Use as Default Variant indicator, this variant is used when the query is opened.
The variant is now displayed in the list of available variants.
If you later want to change the description for the variant, choose Properties and enter the new description.
       4.      To check your entries, choose Check.

Issue while query execution on web analyser.

I am getting an error message while query execution on web ie Record set too large , data retrieval restricted by configuration .I am able to run the same query in bex analyser without any issue .Any idea what could be the reason and solution for this issue .

Hi Neetika,
The Query is exceeding the set limits,i suggest you to Reduce the time LIne for the Query, as it may be having more number of Cells in terms of Rows and Columns.
Execute the Query for Less number of Days,if u r executing it for 1 Month then execute it for 10 Days.

Query execution in RSRT enter debugger session.

Hello Gurus ,
I have a query created on a standard ODS.
When I execute the query in RSRT ,it executes fine.
I have a 'date 'characteristic in Free characteristic section of query designer.
When I try to drill down according to that date,execution of query enters into debug mode.
If I press F8 I get an error message "'ORA-01722: Invalid number'.
I checked the values of date in SID table and the entries exists for it.
Please help in this regard.

This happens when special characters or absurd date like : 0010:10 etc enters BW which cannot be identified by BW as a valid date.
Check the data in DSO and either correct in source or in PSA.

QUERY when run on WEB and RSRT then RRI show selection screen on receiver.

    We have two query: Query 1 and Query 2.
    Query 1 can be RRI to Query 2.
   The variable for fiscal period and Forecast version are both mandatory. The selection for plan version is optional.
   When run this on BEx Analyzer, the jump work smoothly without pop-up of selection screen of the receiver query.
   However, when run on RSRT and Web, the selection screen is being pop-up and you need to press execute button before the 2nd query will be shown.
   The value of the variables is pass correctly.
    Fiscal Period on 1st query is being restricted by two variables.. one interval variable on Free characteristics.. and one single variable on restriction of key figure. The single variable is the one exist and passed on the 2nd query.
   Hope you can help me.

the only thing i can think of on the wbe is a setting for opening windows in tabs or open new window under tools for rsrt not sure, did you try to run it in HTML in rsrt?
it could be setting in SPRO for reporting worse comes to worse open a note with sap.

Get portal user logon details from abap web dynpro

Hi all,
I am developing an abap web dynpro which will be added via an iview to our ees/mss portal. What i need to know is how do i get the current user logon details in my web dynpro! i.e. if a user is loged into the portal using personnel number 111111 i need to be able to capture this value so that i can retrieve hr data for this personel number! any information would be much appreciated!

Hi Mart,
You can pass "iv_user=<User.LogonUid>" as application parameter in iview.
add iv_user parameter in HANDLEDEFAULT method of default window of webdynpro component.
that's it.
when u run your webdynpro application, you can have value of portal logged on userid in iv_user.

This seems to be something controlled in Exchange, and may occur if the Integrated Windows Authentication has been enabled:
1). Open IIS management console.
2). Right click the "Exchange" virtual directory and select properties.
3). Select Directory Security tab; click Edit of "Authentication and access control".
4). Please check whether the "Integrated Windows Authentication" was checked.
5). If so, please uncheck it
6). Restart IIS admin service.

If you simply want to OWA to prompt for credentials every time trying to login, please make sure that client machine has the IE security setting that requires to prompt for username and password. Let's take Internet Explorer 11 for example, go to
Internet Options -> Content -> AutoComplete
-> Settings -> Uncheck or check the User names and passwords on forms as you need ->

Running a Query via Query Monitor (RSRT) works, but Java Web does not

I am running a query via RSRT (IC_SOPSAL/Z_SOPIC_CUSTSALES_01) and this is successful. But when I run the Java Web for same Query below,

RSRT- Query Execution

Hi Experts,
One of my senior consultant design some queries and he asked me how much time taking for QDBSEL,QDBTRANS,QNUMCELLS,
QTIMEOLAP,QTIMEDB,TIMECHAVLREAD, i find out all these information in RSRT but my question is how to calculate OLAP and DB time, and if OLAP takes much time where we can search and how to reduce the time.... like this above all how can i find out?

Once you execute the query in RSRT , go back you wil get front end /calculation layer tab .In that you have columns event text and duration .check for OLAP type event and coresponding duration. For data base fetch time check for event 9000 ( Data manager ) .
Query runtime can be improved by creating aggregates on cubes and providing appropriate filters during run time .

Problems while execution of query using RSRT tcode

I have built a query in development server and I have executed the query using RSRT tcode.I found some of the fields were having cross marks.Again I checked the no of records coming from infoprovider for that field.Data was coming from the cube.But I cant understand why for those particular fields cross mark were coming.Is it an issue?if it is an issue please tell me how to sort out.

First of all the field for which I got X symbol is not a selection criteria field.Rather it is an naviagational attribute of a characteristics.In my query service order is a charecterictreristics and status type is an attribute of it.I am checking the status type of different orders.For a particular order and status tupe X symbol is coming.

Can we Validate the Prompt values before query execution? If Yes, How?

I have Scenario, where it prompts me for 3 values. The sum of 3 values should be equal to 100.
The query should execute only if sum of 3 values is 100 else it should popup a message with content not equal to 100 and prompt for selection.
If this cannot be achieved do we have any work around for this?

Hi Kranthi,
It is not possible to pop-up a message based on prompt parameters.
One work-around to execute teh query only when sum of all 3 prompt values is 100 could be usage of derived table.
You can define your query and in WHERE condition, pull all 3 prompt values using @Prompt() and do a check for SUM=100.
If condition meets, Query will return data otherwise no data will come to report.
You can also use userresponse() to show sum of prompt values and error message on report page.
