Raj,
Query DBA_OBJECTS, here is an example:
SQL> SELECT OBJECT_NAME, LAST_DDL_TIM, TIMESTAMP
FROM DBA_OBJECTS
WHERE OBJECT_NAME = 'FND_USER'
AND OBJECT_TYPE = 'TABLE';

  • Update query for Advanced table.

    Hi,
    I am an newbie to OAF so need help for a simple task.
    I have an advanced table that has been created using expert mode query of VO. (as it contains data from more than one table).
    Now, i want to update the data for any row that is changed in the table,
    i followed the advanced table example in the tutorial and reached till the update method of AM. Now I am not able to update the table. When I searched the forum it said that I need to have a simple EO on the table to update it, but I want to update more than one table ( foreign key relationship), so can I do it using the same VO ? I have both the VO (one based on custom select query of Expert mode and other normal VO based on EO).
    Can someone please give me the query to update the table ?
    Thanks,
    VK

    Thanks Reetesh for your reply.
    As this is a simple task I wan't to do it via OAF query rather than writing PL/SQL procedure.
    I have two tables , say error table and interface table, (there is a foreign key relation ship between these tables, ie. i have to show the interface name present in the interface table via the foreign key in the error table). I used the following query to get the data
    SELECT xxgblErrorMasterEO1.ERROR_ID_NO,
    xxgblErrorMasterEO1.ERROR_CODE,
    xxgblErrorMasterEO1.ERROR_MESSAGE,
    xxgblErrorMasterEO1.CREATED_BY,
    xxgblErrorMasterEO1.CREATION_DATE,
    xxgblErrorMasterEO1.LAST_UPDATED_BY,
    xxgblErrorMasterEO1.LAST_UPDATE_DATE,
    xxgblIntfProgramMaster.INTERFACE_NAME,
    xxgblErrorMasterEO1.ERROR_TYPE
    FROM XXEEG.XXGBL_ERROR_MASTER xxgblErrorMasterEO1,
    XXEEG.XXGBL_INTF_PROGRAM_MASTER xxgblIntfProgramMaster
    where xxgblErrorMasterEO1.INTERFACE_ID_NO =
    xxgblIntfProgramMaster.INTERFACE_ID_NO
    I like the idea of Advanced table while going through the tutorial (example 2) and would want to show certain fields by expanding on the + mark ( just like in the explorer)
    now i want to update any of the fields that i show to the user (except the WHO fields). Say for example if the user updates the error_message and Interface_name, so how should i write the update method in the AM ?
    Pardon me if this sounds simple :(

  • Optimise query on the table which contain 1000 column

    Hi ,
    I have query on the table which contain 1000 columns
    when i am executing query on same table .It is taking time .
    Select * from abc
    where col1 between start_date and end_date ;
    abc table contain 1000 columns.
    please tell me how to optimise query

    Yeah, that was my thought as well ... 1000 columns? wtf?
    I can't think of many reasons for why you'd need to do a select * on it, and the scenarios that would require that are better addressed at the DBA level, perhaps using db replication and the data pump, etc. So to start with try selecting just the data you would need.
    One thing you can do right off the bat is to partition that table by date, and also to analyze and run statistics on it (this was a nightly operation at my last job).
    You can also create a materialzed view that refreshes overnight, just on the slice of the data you need. Use a forced fast refresh to make it current before you use it.

  • What are the tables will update while loading Master data ?

    Hello Experts,
    What are the tables will update while loading Master data ? And requesting you to provide more information about Master data loading and its related settings in the beginning of creation infoobjects.

    It depends upon the type of Master data u r loading....
    In all the master data loadings, for every new value of master data an SID will be created in the SID table /BI*/S<INFOOBJECT NAME> irrespective of the type of master data.
    But the exceptional tables that get updated depending on the type of master data are.....
    If it is a time Independent master data then the /BI*/P<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the loaded data.
    If it is a time dependent master data then the /BI*/Q<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the loaded data.
    If the master data is of time Independent Navigational attributes then for every data load the SID table will get updated first and then the /BI*/X<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the SID's created in the SID table (NOT WITH THE MASTER DATA).
    If the master data is of time dependent navigational attributes then for every data load the SID table will get updated first and then the /BI*/Y<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated with the SID's created in the SID table (NOT WITH THE MASTER DATA).
    NOTE: As said above, For all the data in P, Q, T, X, Y tables the SID's will be created in the S table /BI*/S<INFOOBJECT NAME>
    NOTE: Irrespective of the time dependency or Independency the VIEW /BI*/M<INFOOBJECT NAME> defined on the top of /BI*/P<INFOOBJECT NAME> & /BI*/Q<INFOOBJECT NAME> tables gives the view of entire master data.
    NOTE: it is just a View and it is not a Table. So it will not have any physical storage of data.
    All the above tables are for ATTRIBUTES
    But when it comes to TEXTS, irrespective of the Time dependency or Independency, the /BI*/T<INFOOBJECT NAME> table gets updated (and of course the S table also).
    Naming Convention: /BIC/*<InfoObject Name> or /BI0/*<InfoObject Name>
    C = Customer Defined Characteristic
    0 = Standard or SAP defined Characteristic
    * = P, Q, T, X,Y, S (depending on the above said conditions)
    Thanks & regards

  • Can bind variable be used for the table in an explicit cursor

    I have an application that accesses a table on several different servers. I created a ref cursor variable for the cursor and a varchar2 variable to define my query. variable i_server is an parameter of my procedure. Is it possible to rewrite the v_query using bind variables for the table/server? I have include v_query below.
    v_query := 'SELECT rp.usr_id, rp.sun_sft_cat, rp.sun_start, rp.sun_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.mon_sft_cat, rp.mon_start, rp.mon_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.tue_sft_cat, rp.tue_start, rp.tue_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.wed_sft_cat, rp.wed_start, rp.wed_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.thu_sft_cat, rp.thu_start, rp.thu_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.fri_sft_cat, rp.fri_start, rp.fri_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.sat_sft_cat, rp.sat_start, rp.sat_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.sun_sft, rp.mon_sft, rp.tue_sft, rp.wed_sft,' ||
    ' rp.thu_sft, rp.fri_sft, rp.sat_sft, nvl(ei.wip_permanent_sched_seq, 0)' ||
    ' FROM ' || i_server || ' rp, wip_emp_information ei,' ||
    ' wip_emp_status wes, wip_emp_status_type west ' ||
    ' WHERE rp.usr_id = ei.employee_id' ||
    ' AND wes.employee_id = ei.employee_id' ||
    ' AND wes.status_type = west.status_type' ||
    ' AND west.description = ''WAREHOUSE EMPLOYEE''' ||
    ' AND wes.effective_date = (SELECT MAX(wes2.effective_date)' ||
    ' FROM wip_emp_status wes2' ||
    ' WHERE wes2.status_type = wes.status_type' ||
    ' AND wes2.employee_id = wes.employee_id' ||
    ' AND wes2.effective_date <= trunc(SYSDATE))' ||
    ' AND wes.status = ''Y'' AND rp.wk = 1'; -- wk = 1 is next week's schedule
    OPEN rp_sched_cursor FOR v_query;

    If your intention is to do this:
    v_query := 'SELECT rp.usr_id, rp.sun_sft_cat, rp.sun_start, rp.sun_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.mon_sft_cat, rp.mon_start, rp.mon_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.tue_sft_cat, rp.tue_start, rp.tue_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.wed_sft_cat, rp.wed_start, rp.wed_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.thu_sft_cat, rp.thu_start, rp.thu_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.fri_sft_cat, rp.fri_start, rp.fri_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.sat_sft_cat, rp.sat_start, rp.sat_hrs,' ||
    ' rp.sun_sft, rp.mon_sft, rp.tue_sft, rp.wed_sft,' ||
    ' rp.thu_sft, rp.fri_sft, rp.sat_sft, nvl(ei.wip_permanent_sched_seq, 0)' ||
    ' FROM ' || :b0 || ' rp, wip_emp_information ei,' ||      --- Note the bindvariable...
    ' wip_emp_status wes, wip_emp_status_type west ' ||
    ' WHERE rp.usr_id = ei.employee_id' ||
    ' AND wes.employee_id = ei.employee_id' ||
    ' AND wes.status_type = west.status_type' ||
    ' AND west.description = ''WAREHOUSE EMPLOYEE''' ||
    ' AND wes.effective_date = (SELECT MAX(wes2.effective_date)' ||
    ' FROM wip_emp_status wes2' ||
    ' WHERE wes2.status_type = wes.status_type' ||
    ' AND wes2.employee_id = wes.employee_id' ||
    ' AND wes2.effective_date <= trunc(SYSDATE))' ||
    ' AND wes.status = ''Y'' AND rp.wk = 1'; -- wk = 1 is next week's schedule
    OPEN rp_sched_cursor FOR v_query USING i_server;Then the answer is: no, you cannot do that.
    But my question then would be: why would you want to do that?
    I assume you don't have that many "different servers". One cursor per server won't hurt you.

    As well as EXPLAIN PLAN, let us know what proportion of rows are visited by this query. It may be that it is not using a full table scan when it should (or vice versa).
    And of course we'd need to know what indexes are available, and how selective they are for the predicated you have in this query ...

    Hi Neha,
    When you create a lock object System automatically creat two function module.
    1. ENQUEUE_<Lockobject name>. to insert the object in a queue.
    2. DEQUEUE_<Lockobject name>. To remove the object is being queued through above FM.
    You have to use these function module in your program.
    check this link for example.

  • Unable to generate statistics for the table

    I have got a staging table of more than 600 columns which has got range portioning. Size of the table is 4GB. The average size of the row is around 3 MB. I have created a Functional index on one of the column ABC VARCHAR2(50) and it has only number values. Now when I try generating statistics for this table through ANALYZE or DBMS_STAT, it gives Invalid Number error but when I drop this index and try analyzing, it works.
    Executed TO_NUMBER(ABC) query on the table and it works fine.
    I have got Functional Indexes on other tables also but I don't get such problem with those tables. I tried dropping the index and re-creating it but it didn't work out.
    I was suspecting DATA BLOCK CORRUPTION so checked ALERT LOG and TRACE FILES but found nothing.
    So what is this magic called?

    I am using TO_NUMBER on the column.
    I have checked the MetaLink for the same problem but could not find anything on that. I still suspect datafile error which I am unable to get in ALERT LOG or TRACE FILES. So I am going to try it this way:
    1) Create new Tablespace with New Datafile
    2) Transfer the table from existing Tablespace to new Tablespace
    3) Create the functional index in the same new Tablespace
    4) Try generating the statistics.
    5) If it works then create seprate Tablespace for data and Index.
    Hope it works !!
    Thanks for the reply guys.

  • How can I find out when was a particular table last updated?

    How can I find out when was a particular table last updated? I need to find out the usage of this table - when was it last updated, etc. Thanks in advance. The version I am using is Oracle 9i.

    If you don't have any application level logging, and auditing is not enabled, there's not much hope.
    You could, if you have archive logs available, go trawling through archive logs via logminer, but that's likely to prove painful and not very fruitful, unless you're very meticulous and patient...
