Query in Peopletools (designer)

I have a query, I have a project with 2 tables include them in fields with the url of pages that I want to show, the purpose of my site included in the project, is to show an area html on the same page when it is a filter of a combo contained in it, and make the filter achieved. My question is how can I show this html based on the combo option selected.
Thanks

I am not sure whether i am thinking correct or not. what i am thinking is you want to access the html area values(for example a drop downl list value) from peoplecode.
if i am correct, you can use the following.
if the the following is the html code written in a record Field(Field change) and that record field is used as HTML area,
Local Field &HTMLField;
&HTMLField = GetField();
&HTMLField.Value = "<input type='file' name='datafile' value='sdklj.txt' size='10'>";
Then in peoplecode get the value of that text box in peoplecode by using the following code.
Record.Field = %Request.GetParameter("datafile");

    Hi,
The web template 0ADHOC is usually the standard web template for 3.x queries. The Report Designer executes the reports in java web, thus tries to find the template 0ADHOC in the 7.0 templates and does not find it. Check whether you have maintained the standard web template 0ADHOC for 7.0 reports also:

  • How to use query print layout design

i have a sql query and i want to see its result on report with the help of print layout design.

In addition to Tuvia's answer, here is the printing procedure of query PLD:
    Printing User-Defined Queries
    Use
After you have linked a user-defined query to a user report template, you can print it according to its linked print layout.
    Procedure
To print a user-defined query, use one of the following two procedures:
Using the Query Print Layout window:
    1. Choose Tools u2192 Queries u2192 Query Print Layout.
    2. Choose the Reports tab page and select the query you would like to print.
    3. Choose File u2192 Print.
The user-defined query is printed according to its linked print layout.
    Using the Queries Manager window:
    1. From the toolbar, choose with the quick info text Queries Manager.
    2. Select the query you would like to print.
    3. Choose File u2192 Print.
The user-defined query is printed according to its linked print layout.
You can also display a print preview for user-defined queries. To do so, choose File u2192 Print Preview.
    Printing User-Defined Queries with Variables
    Use
When a user-defined query contains variables, its linked print layout will also display the variables data and print them.
In the print layout linked to that query, you can see that an additional area containing the condition's parameters was added
There is pdf file relate to Query PLD in  the SAP service marketplace website.

  • Adding data field in query print layout designer (PLD)

    Dear Experts/Gurus,
I would like to add data field in query PLD in repetitive area1 but it can't. The query I made excluding sequence no., so I think I must use datafield for that. I  use textfield in the repetitive area header1. is it correct what I have thought, I mean is it really datafield can't be add in the print layout designer if it is from query ? I appreciate your answer. TIA
    Rgds,

No you can't, you will have to recreate the query with the missing field and recreate a new print layout for this.  Is still a flaw in SAP B1.
If you go to the service market place under education you can get the flashbook for the print layout design and the query manager and wizard, study them, they are of great help to understand the technology behind the PLD and the queries in SAP B1.

  • How to set a BEx Query Condition in Design Studio (e.g. Net value GT 0)

    Hi experts,
I have set a simple condition in my BEx Query...
e.g. key figure "Net value" GT 0 to become only positive values in the query result.
In the Query runtime the condition works successful, but in the Design Sudio view the defined Query condition doesn´t work.
In my Design Studio crosstab I have tried to switch between the display setting "Conditional formating Visible" true/false, but without success.
By the way, before I have posted this thread, I had a look at this two blogs...
Design Studio 1.0: Create a Scorecard Using SAP BW BEx Query Exceptions
    Design Studio 1.2  - a Second Look
    Any ideas or experiences?
    Thanks and regards,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
I think you are mixing up two different BEx terms. Conditions are filters on key figures (show me only the results with a value bigger than 50). Exceptions do not filter the result set, but provide a formatting based on the values in the result set (if value is bigger than 50, make its cell red).
The Conditional formatting setting in Design Studio refers to the BEx exceptions. For the BEx conditions there isn't such a setting available. You just have to activate the condition in your BEx Query and use that for your data source in Design Studio.
If you want a workaround to enable/disable conditions from Design Studio, check this blog I wrote: HackingSAP.com - SAP Design Studio and Conditions It shows how you can use variables to adjust the conditions (and also activate) from within Design Studio.

  • Dates in BEx query coming into designer as a dimension with Char data type

This must be an old issue with a well documented work around ...   but alas i can find it !
When i build a universe over a BEx query with dates the universe designer builds them as Dimensions of CHAR type not DATE.  Therefore all WebI date functionality fails ..  eg sorting, automatic time hierarchies etc.
    What is the workaround ?
    Andrew Fox

Is the data source an InfoSet or an InfoCube?  It appears the date type object has not been implemented yet for Infosets.  Here's SAP Note 1370410:
    Symptom
Infoset date type objects (DATS type) are mapped as Character types in a universe based on a SAP BEX Query.
Prompts related to the Date field variables are coming as List of values instead of Calendar in WebIntelligence.
    Reproducing the Issue
Create a BusinessOjects universe on a Super Query which is based on a multiprovider containing an Infoset or
Create a BEx superquery directly on Infoset.
    BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1
SAP Integrated Solutions Kit XI 3.1
    Cause
This behaviour has been considered as an enhancement request and tracked under ADAPT01229917.
    Resolution
This enhancement request is scheduled to be addressed in Service Pack 3 (SP3) for BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 due approximately April 2010.
I did try a BEx query that uses an InfoCUBE as a source and the objects are coming into the universe correctly as dates.

  • Query Print Layout Design

    Hi Friends,
I am designing PLD's B1. I like to know the usage of Query Print Layout and methods to use the same. Because in my PLD i like to extract values from inv3 table directly to Database field. Looking for your suggestions , urgent.
    Reg
    R.Vijai

    Vijaya,
Query Print Layout is mainly used as presentation layer for printing results of a query.
If you have already built the query. Then click on query manager. highlight your query and click Create Report.  This will open Create User Report window asking you to select Base Template.  Click on the Base Template and Click Ok.
To format the look and feel  go to  Tools--> Queries --> Query Print Layout --> Reports Tab. Double click on your Query template and start customizing.
To preview the Print layour with you data you may highlight the query (do not double click) under query manager and click on File -->Print Preview

  • Create a collection in the beforeshown by query sort by designer does not sort

In the beforeshown function of a screen, I create a collection. This collection will be displayed in my target screen. I have added in the designer a Sort order by the displayed screen does not conform to this sort.
Where is my error? The creation of the collection in the beforeshown function makes the query sort order execute before the collection is really created? Or the collection is not really database saved because it has been created in the beforeshown function?
In the case I must do the sort in the Created function of the target screen with something like
    screen.StrengthCollection.setOrderBy()
But I do not know how to give the right parameter to setOrderBy...
    Yves Pflieger

    Hi,
    You can try
To Bind a Query Parameter to a Field
1.Create a query that accepts a parameter (for example: the ID of a customer). For more information, see How to: Design a Query by Using the Query Designer.
2.Add the query to the Screen Content Tree. For more information, see How to: Design a Silverlight Screen by Using the Screen Designer.
3.Add a local field to the screen. For more information, see How to: Add a Local Property to a Silverlight Screen.
4.In the Screen Members List of the Screen Designer, select the parameter of the query.
5.On the View menu, click Properties Window.
6.Select the Parameter Value text box.
7.Select or type the name of the local field.

  • Query in Template Designer

    Hello,
I'm trying to create a word template in template designer for appointments (BUS2000126). I've created a web service in the web service tool. In the web service tool I found a query, Query for Activities [ BTQAct ], which seems useful. I have allowed all query attributes, but they don't appear in the XML Scheme when I create the word template. Is it possible to use queries this way? If so, what could I have done wrong?
    Kind regards,
    Johan Wigert

    Hello Robert,
I followed your advice and I've found the information that I want to publish. I have one additional question about the date though. I'm now using the date in:
    Administrativeheaderoforder - Datesofheader - Alldates - element1 - TimestampTo
This seems to give me the starting date of the appointment. I'm not too happy about the format as it is now YYYYMMDDHHMMSS. I would like to have it like YYYY-MM-DD. Do you know if that's possible?
    Kind regards,
    Johan Wigert

  • Query Manager/Report Design

Is there some documentation on how to create reports from the query manager.
I have tried looking at the Print layout designer in the elearning section but it does not cover the query manager (and does not cover the whole product anyway), so I am looking for information on how to do this
I have a query but I want it put in a page break after each category.
so.. any doco help files ,DETAILED webexes would be very useful. as the resources that should be available are too well hidden!!

    Hi george,
There is many documents but i don't think there is one that is specificaly on reprts based on a query. Can try e-learning.
But what you want to do is simple. Open the queries manager. highlight your query. then click create report. Save it. Then go to the top to tools->queries->query print layout.... once you're then you can edit it. You must then right click RIGHT ON THE EDGE OF THE REPETITIVE AREA. Then a window comes up with repetitive area that then leads to sort. there you can say what to summarise by and when to break the page.
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to find Cube / Query in Catalog (Designer)

    Hello,
Our current environment consists of BW Queries which are access by BO Universes. When creating a Universe we were able to see all queries but since we did some changes to the MP and cubes we don't see the queries anymore from BO Side.
Also the current reports fail with an error "Unable to find Cube <QueryName> in catalog".
The queries used in the universes are still visible and accessible in BEx Analyzer.
What I tried so far (with a super user) is:
    1. Generate query again -> no change
    2. Save the query again -> no change
    3. Remove the flag u201CAllow external Access to this queryu201D, save query and flag the option again -> no change
    4. Activate the MultiProvider again -> no change
    5. Copy the query to another query u2013
-> New query is accessible. This means the MP and cubes are not the reason. It seems like the query is gone in an inactive modeu2026
    6. Used BAPI  BAPI_MDPROVIDER_GET_CUBES to get the list of accessible queries.
-> I see the same list as in BO. Most queries are missing. The ones that are in the list disappear whenever we try to access these queries from BO.
Did anyone encounter the same issue and was able to solve it?
    Environment: SAP BI 7.1 EHP1 SP5, BO XI 3.1 SP2(1.7).
    Thanks in advance.
    Manu

    Hi Manu,
your are talking about universe designer here - right?
We have the same behaviour currently in Crystal 2008 designer and universe designer.
In both we can see the same but not the complete list of queries.
We made sure the "allow external access" option is set in BEX.
We resolved both issues with same root cause :  adjust Query properties -> Req. status ->   ...
Pls refer to thread Unable to find BW Query while creating connection with universe designer as well - thanks Ingo !
    - logon to the SAP system
    - start transaction RSRT
    - enter the technical name of the BW query in the syntax CUBE/QUERY
    - click Properties
    - set the second item called Req.Status.
    - set that one to 0
Let us know if this helped !

  • Query Print Layout Designer: no "save" option when editing report

No "save" option when editing report, only "save as" in  2007 A PL30

Yes you are all correct guys, but i'm aware that i can't edit the system report.
What I did is i assigned a template for my query, then the system will automatically assign a template with the same name as my query. but the problem is when i open the layout, and make any changes, save button is not enabled, the system requires me to "save as". I dont encounter this problem in other version, but only in 2007a.

  • Creating a complex query in CR designer

I'm running Crystal Reports XI Release 2 on Windows NT. I have a very complex query and cannot figure out how to make it work in CR. Basically, I've got a table A with fields containing reference codes that may or may not be present. I created a SQL query that imbeds select statements in the select fields (the field names between SELECT and FROM). So, it would read something like SELECT field1, field2, (select Code_Name from REF_Table where REF_Table.code=TableA.code and TableA.code is not null) FROM TableA. That works great in SQL Developer.
In CR, I tried a command field but that produces a cartesian set where I get a line for every record that has the field for each and every record in TableA.  No good. I just want the name for the value in the TableA record translated to the name if it is present.  Is there a way to do this in CR? I used to be able to edit the SQL directly in CR but now it won't let me do that. Anyone know a better way to solve this kind of problem?

I'm not an Oracle guy so I don't know what you can or can't do in PL SQL.
I'm surprised that you are getting different results between SQL Developer and the CR Command. CR should pass the query, exactly as it's written back to the server, same as SQL Dev.
IN T-SQL...If  you want to make sure that the sub-query is returning only 1 row, try placing "TOP 1" behind the SELECT.
    (select top 1 loc.location_name
    from ref_location loc
where loc.location_num=obd.location_num and odb.location_num is not null)
I'm thinking that Oracle doesn't have the the TOP N option but it does have a rownum feature. So maybe...
    (SELECT x.location_name
    FROM (
        select loc.location_name
        from ref_location loc
where loc.location_num=obd.location_num and odb.location_num is not null) x
    WHERE rownum = 1
    ORDER BY rownum)
This is assuming that Oracle allows you to use ORDER BY in a sub-query. T-SQL only allows it if it's used in conjunction with TOP N...
    Just a thought,
    Jason
