Query Interrupts w/ Oracle

Hi,
Any ideas on clean methods for interrupting long running queries to
Oracle. Are any methods included in R3 for this.
Thanks,
Will

Question:
Are you using OCI (Oracle Call Interface) to access Oracle? If so, you
want to look up two calls:
OCAN
-- Cancels current call
OBREAK
-- Breaks current call
Of course, you still need to set some kind of alarm (to know when a call is
going on "too long")
If you're not using OCI, (if you're using embedded SQL to access Oracle)
this won't work.
Good Luck

  • Query off of Oracle using WinSql - Need help with query

I am trying to query off of Oracle using program WinSql.
I have a table(tticpr200110) that has the following sample data:
    ITEM     CODE     T$AMNT
    23500076 ACL     .0049
    23500076 APM     0
    23500076 APO     .0093
    23500076 EXP     .0001
    23500076 RES     .0072
and what I want it to look like is:
ITEM     ACL     APM     APO     EXP     RES
    23500076     0.0049     0     0.0093     0.0001     0.0072
(actually I need the last 2 columns added together to be MATL-but can deal with that down the road).
Seems simple enough, but I don't know to put into the columns.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as soon as possible would be even better.

My table - tticpr200110 when it runs I get the following sample data for part number 23500076:
The first coloumn ITEM is the part number.
The second column CODE is 1 of 5 different cost codes
The third column is the cost for that code for that part.
    ITEM CODE AMNT
    23500076 ACL 0.0049
    23500076 APM 0.0000
    23500076 APO 0.0093
    23500076 EXP 0.0001
    23500076 RES 0.0072
I want to make a query that makes the data look like this:
ITEM ACL APM APO EXP RES
    23500076 0.0049 0.0000 0.0093 0.0001 0.0072
(similar to a pivot table in excel or acess)
    I hope this helps better.
    Thanks!

  • Query based on Oracle and MS Access connections

I hope this is in the correct spot.
I am using Oracle SQL Developer to extract data from some Read Only tables in Oracle.
What I would like to do it have a list of numbers in a MS Access database to select the same number from Oracle tables, then export the data out to Access or Excel. There may be several thousand numbers at a time.
I asked if they would give me one table with one column in Oracle I could read/write to but the answer was no.
I have my connection strings working to both the Oracle tables and to the Access database but i can not figure out how to build a query using both tables.
If I build a query to the Access table can I use that query somehow in the query of the Oracle table?
    Thanks
    Steve

Not real sure if this is doable or would help, but perhaps you can load the access table into an Oracle Global Temporary Table? See http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/8i/TemporaryTables.php (and google on it). I think I'm assuming your 11 hour query had something to do with shovelling a bucketload of data to the access side, perhaps if you could show us the plan on the Oracle side that access was generating to get the Oracle data there might be a different answer.
Oftentimes cross-db tools won't use Oracle features like analytics, or do slow-by-slow row processing where a short procedure could do things within the Oracle sql engine and return data in larger arrays.
Sometimes mass data cleansings benefit from using server side tools outside of the db. Do you have the data from before it was loaded to Oracle? What Oracle platform are you on?

  • Query Builder in Oracle 9i

We use the tool Query Builder in our Oracle BD version 8.0.5.1. We have a development version of Oracle 9i and I don't see anything like Query Builder. What product is replacing Query Builer in Oracle 9i ??

    This must be a bug?

    Hi
We have a request to create a query builder in oracle Apex particularly. But it provide the application builder and Utilities when we create the apex workspace. My question is any possibility are to make the application builder and utilizes as invisible

    hi scott,
we no need to buid a report.we want generate a sql query using GUI drag and drop query builder.
our suggestion is provide synonym for all objects and give to clinet, but in apex query builder only show view and table...
it not show synonym thats the problem..
simply we want oracle query browser.just want build a query.through synonym schema.
we cerate a oracle user and provide synonym for live tables.then we provide the synonym user to client place,so they want build a query simpl.

    Hi Pals,
I think this problem is more related to your your spectrum analyzer then to LabVIEW. Is there any documentation or sample code from the vendor how to get a screenshot? Or do they offer any LabVIEW driver VI's on their homepage?
There is probably one thing you could try to change in your code, you can use a delay betwenn the VISA Writes, maybe the analyzer needs some time time to procees a command

  • How to convert SQL Server hierarchical query (CTE) to Oracle?

How to convert SQL Server hierarchical query (CTE) to Oracle?
    WITH cte (col1, col2) AS
    SELECT col1, col2
    FROM dbo.[tb1]
    WHERE col1 = 12
    UNION ALL
    SELECT c.col1, c.col2

    DELETE a

    See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_10002.htm#i2129904
Ah, just spotted it's a delete statement - you won't be able to do it using subquery factoring in Oracle.
I had a go at trying to convert for you, but notice that you reference the cte from inside the cte... I can only assume you have a table called cte too...
    DELETE FROM dbo.tb1
    WHERE col1 = 12
OR col2 IN (SELECT col1 FROM cte)

  • SAP query load to Oracle

    Hi,
I'm looking for the best way to automate the results of an SAP query (Quickviewer) to Oracle. The query would run nightly. I searched all SND forums but did not find much. I also looked at the SAP application help for Quickviewer.
    Regards,
    John

    David,
Just an FYI the error message that you have found is not connected to your BLS transaction but rather the default IDoc listener trying to connect to something that doesn't exist.  This listener will automatically start each time xMII starts, as a result you can set it up to connect to an RFC destination or delete the default configuration and it will go away.
Now onto your issue; How many Production Orders are being returned from the BAPI?  How are you loading each of them into Oracle?  How much memory is allocated to ServletExec vs. How much is available on the machine?  By default xMII will limit all SQL/Tag queries to their <b>RowCount</b> with a max at 250k rows but this does not apply to the JCo call.
My suggestion here is to look for the other error message that pertains to your transaction which may reside in the ServletExec logs and not xMII, they can be found on your xMII machine here: http://localhost/servletexec/admin/login.jsp
    Hope this helps.

  • "GPIB error Query Interrupted" flashes on HP54542A

I've written a display and control program in Delphi 7 for the HP54542A. The program uses NI commands and the GPIB-32.dll library, per NI's recommendation. The program appears to work properly, but I frequently get the message "GPIB error-Query Interrupted" flashing on the scope screen. I've tried putting delays in the software after read and write commands, but that seems to have no effect. Any suggestions? The version of the GPIB-32.dll that I have is dated 1999. I'm using a fairly new NI PCMCIA card in a new Dell laptop.

    tfowler,
Perhaps someone in the community has some experience with the HP54542A. We do have a newer GPIB driver which has a newer GPIB-32.dll that you could try:
    NI-488.2 Download
We also have CVI and LabVIEW instrument drivers for this instrument that you could try out (since you are using Delphi you could at least check out what the drivers are doing and get some ideas):

  • Keithley 6514 query interrupted problem

I am trying to read a current from Keithley 6514 Electrometer. The current is really small so it takes a while for the electrometer to find the right range. I use a VISA Write to send "MEAS:CURR?" and a VISA Read followed immediately. I sometimes got error -410, which means query interrupted. Somehow VISA Read returned before the measurement was completed. How do I fix this?

You may be able to configure the Electrometer to enable SRQ events. This way, the Electrometer could assert the SRQ line when it has completed the measurement. I believe with VISA you'll call viEnableEvent() for VI_EVENT_SERVICE_REQ. You'll need to send another string to the instrument to enabling SRQ events. That information should be in the manual from Keithley. You can then call viWaitOnEvent() to wait until the operation has completed.

    AND TO_DATE (TO_CHAR (ap.fecha_creacion, 'dd/mm/yyyy'), 'dd/mm/yyyy')
    BETWEEN TO_DATE (NVL (:b8,TO_CHAR (ap.fecha_creacion, 'dd/mm/yyyy')),'dd/mm/yyyy')
    AND TO_DATE (NVL (:b9,TO_CHAR (ap.fecha_creacion, 'dd/mm/yyyy')),'dd/mm/yyyy')Why are you using TO_DATE/TO_CHAR on a date column?
AND ap.centro_resultado = NVL (:b7, ap.centro_resultado)the same can be rewritten as below:
AND (ap.centro_resultado =:b7 and :b7 is not null) or :b7 is null This applies to other predicates you are using as well.
The table used in the plan is not found in your sql query eg NUC_CODIGOS_FLEXIBLES.

  • Query tunning in Oracle using Explain Plan

Adding to my below question: I have now modified the query and the path shownby 'Explain plan' has reduced. The 'Time' column of plan_table is also showing much lesser value. However, some people are suggesting me to consider the time required by the query to execute on Toad. Will it be practical? Please help!!
Hi, I am using Oracle 11g. I need to optimize a Select query(Need to minimize the execution time). I need to know how 'Explain Plan' would help me. I know how to use Explain Plan command. I refer Plan_table table to see the details of the plan. Please guide me regarding which columns of the Plan_table should be considered while modifying the query for optimization. Some people say, 'Time' column should be considered, some say 'Bytes' etc. Some suggest on minimizing the full table scans, while some people say that I should minimize the total no. operations (less no. of rows should be displayed in Plan_table). As per an experienced friend of mine, full table scans should be reduced (for e.g. if there are 5 full table scans in the plan, then try to reduce them to less than 5. ). However, if I consider any full table scan operation in the plan_table, its shows value of 'time' column as only 1 which is very very less. Does this mean the full scan is actually taking very less time?? If yes, then this means full table scans are very fast in my case and no need to work on them. Some articles suggest that plan shown by 'Explain Plan' command is not necessarily followed while executing the query. So what should I look for then? How should I optimize the query and how will I come to know that it's optimized?? Please help!!...
