Query regarding magnetic stripe data

1. What data does a smart card magnetic strip contains?
2. What data does a ordinary credit card magnetic stripe contains?
3. how can we retrieve those data?have any development kit in java available?
4. Kindly refer some documents that will brief us about the above questions?

See Smart Card has nothing to do with Magnetic Strip It is kept just to keep back ward copatibility see as all over the world there are less places where we have a smart card compatibility since the magnetic strip technology is older you cant change it at one glance so there is a Magnetic strip also provided . The Magnetic card contains three tracks the Track 1 &2 are specific to reading only and 3 rd track may also be written The magnetic card storage capacity is approx 1000 bits .
See in smart card you need a reader to read the data as Smart Card contains a microprocessor and a memory so its called smart the program is stored in that .
See if you go through the book Smart Card Hand Book by W Rankl & W Effing you will get the picture clear.

Query regarding Update the data using application

I have scenario i need to update single record in the the application and insert into a table
for example
SELECT ContactID,FirstName,MiddleName,LastName,Description FROM Contact
Contact table contains 4 columns as explained. in the application there is one tab called Contact where it displays Above information
and description is non editable.
Now the new requirement has come user can update the description information and save information in a new column say 'Description1'
that means new column needs to be added in the db and also necessary changes needs to be done at the application side
For ex :SELECT ContactID,FirstName,MiddleName,LastName,Description,Description1 FROM Contact
Now when user views the contact table it should display description info by default from 'description' table.
If he edits he should see edited data from 'description1' table.
Can any body guide me please and send me sample update query please, and the logic should if updated data is there display that data from
'description1' table other wise display from 'description' table

Hi Smash126,
You need to fire the update command once you have filled the description record. It should happen on the primary key column of the record.
For Example:
UPDATE Contact
SET Description = 'New Description',
Description1 = 'New Description'
where contactID = <<ContactID from application>>
This way both will updated to same value, and next time you will get the updated value.

Query regarding alignment of data in Application server

My requirement is to download data to the application server. To get an aligned output, i need to give offset position manually for each input.
For example :
      lw_outtab+0(15) = in_itab-matnr.
      lw_outtab+25(10) = in_itab-vkorg.
          append lw_outtab to i_outtab.
        Instead of manualy giving the offset position
Is there is any function module to get an aligned output in the Application server directly.
And also i would like to know if color formating is possible for the downloaded data.

Hi Dhanachezhiyan,
In order to get alligned data in an outputfile to application server you could do something like this:
Define your own types (of course you can add as much fields you need)
TYPES: BEGIN OF ty_in_itab,
         matnr(15) TYPE c,
         buf01(10) TYPE c,
         vkorg(10) TYPE c,
         buf01(10) TYPE c,
       END   OF ty_in_itab,
Make sure that the length here is equal to length of ty_in_itab
       ty_outtab(100) TYPE c.
Define your own tables/workarea's
DATA: in_itab   TYPE ty_in_itab OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE,
       in_outtab TYPE ty_outtab OCCURS,
       lw_outtab TYPE ty_outtab.
Logic to fill in_itab.
    MOVE CORRESPONDING VBAK TO in_itab.
    APPEND in_itab.
After this filling logic do your trick
LOOP AT in_itab.
    lw_outtab = in_itab.
    APPEND lw_outtab TO in_outtab.
ENDLOOP.
And afterwards download it

Query regarding refreshing grid data when returned from a different Task Flow

JDEV version used is :11.1.1.5
Our application uses dynamic UI shell tabs.
Whenever the user logs in he is taken to the TAB A.
From TAB A, user navigates to TAB B.
The TAB B has a GRID B(table with some records ).
Column A on TAB B has a hyperlink which when clicked will open up a different task flow in a different tab.
The click on column A's hyperlink for different rows will open different TF's (based on some conditions).
On clicking the hyperlink the _launchActivity(String title, String taskflowId, boolean newTab) method is used which open the TF in a new tab.
User works on the TF( on a new tab) which was opened on click of the Column A's hyperlink and clicks on SAVE.
On click of save some operation is performed and removeCurrentTab method is called which will close the current tab and the control goes to first tab(TAB A) .
The problem:
Once the user tries to click or come back to to TAB B the GRID B is never refreshed as we are unable to get the handle to refresh the grid data.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

if i have 2 table with a same column name then in the datatype under parent row node i cant add 2 nodes with the same name.
can any one help with some suggestion.

Hi Mudit,
One option would be to go as mentioned by Padamja , prefxing the table name to the column name or another would be to use the AS keyoword in your SQL statement.
AS is used to rename the column name when data is being selected from your DB.
So, the query Select ename as empname from emptable will return the data with column name as empname.

We need to display the card information on Oracle Application Payment screen once card is swiped.

Oracle is not any kind of magic!
As per your client request you need an application which can read the magnetic tape and encode the no, which in turn can retrieve the data from your database!
As of now no application is in Oracle at least for this! Try some customize application to have the same.

1.I invoke a procedure in Oracle called submit thru my Java application.
The submit procedure saves the XML data in the database
and displays this data in a Front End GUI.
2. Now,I make a change in my Java application by adding new elements to the same row.This row now contains additional XML elements.
I would like to display the new row with the new elements in the GUI.
What is a better option for doing the above?
1.Delete the row being shown,save the new row with the changes in the database,and re display it?
2.Or,Update the row dynamically and refresh?

Thanks,If you delete (it seems to me yours this process is regular and frequent) and re insert the new updated one record then High water mark will cause to scan yours table which may cause to degrade the performance.AFAIK you should go with update.But hold down dont implement it as i suggested lets see what are others solution here which may be more precious then mine.

We meet an error, The workbook report no authorization, but related query can show part data.
We have a workbook, it have 1 queries, and when we key in condition to run it, in one field we put on one more condition(Z3XXX = ' WZO' & ' WZA")(User didn't have authorization for this condition), and workbook report no authorization.
Then we checked authorization check log and it show "You do not have sufficient authorization on Z3XXX = ' WCO'.
But when we execute the related query with same condition. the query can open and show WZA's data.
I'd like to know the reason.

For troubleshooting your issue, please go to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\ find your Web Application (represented by a port number), then delete an unknown folder created by sharepoint, namely vti_cnf from all the folders and sub-folders in
your web application.

Query regarding Useful Life

Hi SAP guru
I have one query regarding useful life of asset,
If i purchased a asset in rs 200000 , wdv rate is 20% and put the useful life 4 year, in last year i want to depreciate the asset upto 1 Rs.
Capitalisation date is 01.04.2008.
Ex -     Acquisition value   Ordinary depreciation net book value
2008 200,000.00               40,000.00-             160,000.00
2009 200,000.00                32,000.00-           128,000.00
2010 200,000.00                25,600.00-           102,400.00
2011   200,000.00               20,480.00-           81,920.00
2012 200,000.00                                          81,920.00
Client requirement is in year 2011 asset should depreciate upto Rs 1.

If you want to your asset depreciation based on useful life that is 4 years, please select check box Rem.life in multi level method of that dep. key.and enter the useful life as 4 years in the assets master.
when come to restricting value to 1Re. specify the memo value for that asset class.
AA>Valuation>Amt.specification>Specify memo value.

Is it possible that through JDBC adapter ,
a) Direct fetching of data from database
b) Data should come in XI and after mapping should be
 posted in SAP R/3 .i.e complete automated process
c) Is it possible to put direct query statement in XI
 while connection with database through JDBC adapter
 E.g For fetching the vendor data from database
 Select * from ....

In the JDBC Sender adapter you have to mention the SQL Query.
b) Data should come in XI and after mapping should be

This is what XI does. There is no manual intervention needed.
c) Is it possible to put direct query statement in XI
while connection with database through JDBC adapter
E.g For fetching the vendor data from database
Select * from ....
your question a is same. You can execute a SQL statement in the Adapter which polls the database in the intervals you mention. It could be a SELECT or EXEC PROC etc.

Planning query donu2019t show current data

Hello,
I have an input ready query over an aggregation level of a real time cube. Whenever the yellow request is closed and a new request is opened, the input ready query does not show the old data. And sometimes it shows incorrect data. We found that the issue is with the Cache.
In RSRT when opening the input ready query in debug mode with "Do not use cache setting", the query returns correct data. But the surprise thing is that, the input ready query has Cache setting as inactive (0) in RSRT. So we had to generate the Delta buffer query <infoprovider>/!!1<infoprovider> in RSRT where <infoprovider> is the name of the real time cube.
This solved our problem and the query brought in correct data. But again when I close the second request, the input ready query again shows me no data or shows me wrong data. So again we need to generate the delta buffer query in RSRT <infoprovider>/!!1<infoprovider>.
This is very annoying when considering the fact that you have to generate the delta buffer query every time the request is closed. This could be a overhead in maintenance and will not go well with people.
Does anybody have any solutions for solving this issue. Is there any setting by which we can turn off cache altogether or delete cache when a request is closed etc? or worst conditions how to automate the generation of delta buffer queries every time the request is closed?
Any help is really appreciated.

I have a JTable with 6 columns and 1000s of rows (which are data read from flat files)
I can select 1 or more rows and change the values of the
columns. each time I do this I need to update the values
in the flat file.
Currently I assign the updated Jtable values to a vector
Vector rowVector = (Vector)defaultModel.getDataVector();
then I iterate over the vector and compare the values with the (old) data
in the JTable.
 for(int rowCount = 0; rowCount<rowVector.size(); rowCount++){
 Vector v = (Vector)rowVector.elementAt(rowCount);
 //smsList is the Vector that contains the old JTable values
 for(int i=0; i<smsList.size(); i++){
 //If colums values have been changed; add that

 selectedsmsList.add(smsList.get(i));

 }This works fine except that it takes ages to iterate over the updated vecor and un-updated,old vector; is there any way to directly get the list of rows that were updated in the jtable; so that I can directly do an I/O operation to update the jtablke values?

Just a suggestion.
You could add a listener and use a vector of booleans to keep track of the rows that have been changed. You could then iterate through this boolean vector and update the changed rows.

I have a query regarding child tables. For example, when a user is removed from an AD group, his corresponding entry from the AD groups child table will be deleted. I want to know whether it is deleted of marked as deleted. Can I get the information later on that the user was removed from which AD group?

You will have to enable the audit level = Resource Form and perform the additional tasks to track the process form data changes. This will track all modifications to the forms.
