THERE IS ERROR IN ALERT LOG FILE LIKE ORA-03136 inbound connection timed out (ORA-3136).
BUT I DONE THE SQLNET MODIFICATION THAT IS SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT TO 0

vikas kohliThere are a number of possible reasons, but with such little information there's no real way for us to tell you.
http://coskan.wordpress.com/2011/06/24/plan-is-same-wait-profile-is-different/
Outlines one example where test/prod instances are "identical" yet produce different access paths for a query. If you read the post you'll get an appreciation for the myriad of different reasons you could have differences.
Some more common reasons would be
1) data volume differences between test/prod
2) hardware differences between test/prod
3) inaccurate statistics on objects involved in the query / procedure in question (gathered with the DBMS_STATS package) in either test or prod (or a difference between the two)
4) load differences between test and prod (test has 2 concurrent users, prod has 2000 for instance)
the list could go on for quite some time.

RE: How to have multiple application running under one server
I have one server
I have many application
Question: Is it possible for me to have a weblogic properties file under each
of this application.
If your question is whether you can run multiple instances of WebLogic
(or multiple applications) on one server, the answer is yes. The only
problem is, you must have a unique port for each of the servers to run
on. I.e., they can not all run under port 80 which has obvious
internet/network implications.
This also means you have multiple weblogic.properties files etc. for
each instance.
We do this with WL5.1 on a Linux 2.4 kernel in developement to allow
multiple developers run their own instance on one box.

How do i query a sun one server for a member of a group
Hi Folks
I would like to know if any one know how to query a sun one directory server to list all members of the group.
currenty i have this
LDAP://SERVERNAME.test.com:5221/ou=people,dc=testrelsec,dc=com>;(&(objectclass = person)& adsPath;subTree"
this query gives me all users in the directory ,
Now I have created a static group called GROUPONE using sunone console GUI and made 2 people member of that group
I need the ldap query which can list the members of GROUPONE

Useful script to extract LDAP based user posixGroup memberships information
===
Assuming you are using posixGroup objectclass and memberUid attribute to
store your membership information, you may find my shell script useful
and handy.
It works on Solaris LDAP Client with "ldapaddent" and "ldaplist"
commands, and works against FDS, SUN DS or OpenLDAP.

How to run logic one month at a time
Hi All
I got a script logic funding.which contains 6 sub logics in it.
for ex: funding calc
tax lgf
initialize lgf
fund_ob lgf
funding lgf
dirtax lgf
reservers lgf.
my problem is if i run the above logic for full year my balance sheet is out of balace. becoz my fund_ob is pulling prior values.
how can i run above set of logic by month wise.
for jan:
tax lgf
initialize lgf
fund_ob lgf
funding lgf
dirtax lgf
reservers lgf.
feb:
tax lgf
initialize lgf
fund_ob lgf
funding lgf
dirtax lgf
reservers lgf.
thanks everyoneIf you are saying that you need to run a different set of logic for one month vs. another month,. then take a look at *Logic_BY and *Logic_Mode and *Logic_Property keywords in the online help, these allow you to run a different "default" logic script based on (in your example) the time dimension member being sent. You will need to add a property called LOGIC to the Time dimension, and populate it with the name of the logic file you'll call in logic.

Services running in one server is failing in other server
We have two BPEL installations. Once is for development and the other is for staging.
10.1.3.3.1 is their installed version. Services developed for dev installation is not working in staging. DBAdaptors are failing in the staging server. An extra namespace is getting added to the dbadaptor response in the staging server which was not coming for the dev server..
Here is the dbadaptors response from dev server.

Query running in one env and failing in other due to ORA-01779
Hello All,
I am running a query in one environment and it runs fine and when I try to run into other environment then it gives me a
ORA-01779: cannot modify a column which maps to a non key-preserved table
I am not sure where I am doing wrong. What can be the possible reasons for that?
Thanks

Query from source table takes lots of time
I have to load data from an Oracle table which has millions of records. The loading knowledge module I am using is 'lkm sql to oracle'.
I see that the query from the source database takes lot of time and doing a full table scan where as it supposed to be using an index.
I dont have any lkm with 'lkm oracle to oracle'. Some how I need to add a hint to this source query. How I can do this? This LKM is not indicated to large volume of data, try to use LKM Oracle to Oracle (DBLINK), see ODI KMs documentation for more information.
Related to HINTS you can add this with KM options, see that some Oracle ODI11g new KMs already have some options to do it, so you can put the hint on interface options of KM or define the temp index on the interface -
Query accessing SSAS cube is taking more time in power view report
Hi,
My SSAS server is having 16 Core's . I have created a power view in sharepoint site, which is accessing ssas cube.
The report is taking more time to show the result. I traced the DAX query using SQL Server profiler. When I ran this DAX query in SSAS server directly, then its taking less time but when the same query running from sharepoint server (power view) , it
is taking more time. Number of records in the fact table is 300M .
Also i tracked the %process time in performance monitor, mostly the line is below 20%. I think the CPU is not fully utilized..
Could you please help me to improve the performance of my report.
Regards,
ArunHi Arun,
According to your description, you create a PowerView report in SharePoint site connect to SSAS cube, the problem is that it take long time to show the result in the report, now you want to improve report performance, right?
In your scenario, you said that it takes more time to return the result in PowerView report than run the query directly in SSMS. For a report, its run time contain retrieval data time and render report time. So it takes more time to return the result in
PowerView report than run the query directly in SSMS. And there are 300M records in the fact table, the performance can be caused by large data. Here is a blog which describes tracks down Power View performance problems.

Cluster servlet only sees one server
I'm using WLS6.1 SP2 running on Solaris. I'm using the new version of the HttpClusterServlet
(weblogic.servlet.proxy.HttpClusterServlet) to proxy to 6 managed servers running
on two physical servers. It's just proxying web requests, not EJBs or anything
like that, and we're not using session state or SSL.
The problem is that the cluster servlet only sends requests to one server at a
time - no round-robin is going on. It seems to just latch onto the first server
it can find. So if I bring down all the managed servers, the first one that comes
back up gets all the requests forever.
The only parameters to the HttpClusterServlet are DebugConfigInfo = On and the
WebLogicCluster property which is set to:
server1:9221:9222|server1:9231:9232|server1:9241:9242|server2:9221:9222|server2:9231:9232|server2:9241:9242
I've also checked the online debug info, using http://server1:proxyport/dummy.jsp?__WebLogicBridgeConfig.
This shows only one server under the General Server List. However it does change
if I take down the server listed there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
BKR
Hi Brian,
One thing I notice is that the servers listed in your WebLogicCluster
property show some instances listening on different ports. Pre-7.0,
clustered instances must be listening on different IPs, but the same port
number. For example,
server1 - listen address 192.168.1.100 - listening on port 8001
server2 - listen address 192.168.1.101 - listening on port 8001
server3 - listen address 192.168.1.102 - listening on port 8001
..etc...
So you are either trying to proxy to three different clusters, in which
case, your HttpClusterServlet configuration is incorrect, or you just have
your cluster configured in correctly (if you intend for all six servers to
be a part of one cluster).
Hope this helps.
Jane

SSIS package takes longer time when inserting data into temp tables
querying records from one server and inserting them into temp tables is taking longer time.
are there any setting in package which enhance the performance .will local temp table (#temp ) enhance the performance ..
If you're planning to use # tables in ssis make sure you read this

Is there a way to have an iPad run only 1 app at a time?
I am a tech support person and teachers are asking me if we can have a students iPad run only one app at a time. For instance, a group of students in biology would be allowed to run only the app for their biology book.
Students have gotten so distracted during classtime with iMessage, web browsing, videos and games that it becomes virtually impossible to keep them on task in the classroom.
I am aware of adding profiles to the devices, but this profile would only be for the biology class. It would then have to be removed or deactivated upon leaving the class. You can restrict iPads running iOS 6 to a single app via Guided Access:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5509
but that requires reconfiguration of the iPads whenever you want to set it up or deactivate or change it. There may be a mobile device management (MDM) system that would allow you to push out such changes "on the fly" but I can't say with certainty. Someone else here or in the iPad in the Enterprise forum may know.
Otherwise it may be necessary to implement an administrative solution such as banning use of iPads in class or enforcing consequences should a student be using the iPad for inappropriate functions.

Using sjsws to host many small servlet/jsp sites on one server
Hello. I visited the web page at http://www.sun.com/software/products/web_srvr/features.xml, which mentions that sjsws supports mass hosting of thousands of domains. Anyone knows more information about this feature? I want to find out whether sjsws is a good choice for hosting many small servlet/jsp sites on one server.
Some time ago, I tried using apache+tomcat to host many small servlet/jsp sites on one server. But the result was not satisfactory. If a private tomcat/jvm is used for each site, too many resources are consumed and as a result, not many sites can be hosted on one server. If a shared tomcat/jvm is used for all sites, the resources consumed are reduced, but it becomes very difficult to isolate the sites. Is it possible to overcome such problems with sjsws?
Thx.Of course you dont have to use multiple VMs to host multiple applications.
You can either choose to have multiple Virtual Servers, all in one instance of the web server, serving multiple applications. In this case only one java VM is used.
Or you can go in the route posted in the link above, in which there is only one "physical" virtual server, with many dynamic virtual servers.
Whether you chose to have many multiple web applications, or do the server division in a similar way to what is described in the blog, it is up to you.
Many different web applications will give you more fine level control on the application separation, but it will probably also mean greater resource consumption associated to the web application managing.
Less web applications, but with dynamic separation, in a similar way to what is described in the blog, will give a lesser control on the applications, but will save you a good number of resources.
SJS Web Server is known to work in massive web sites, with very high number of JSPs and Servlets. There is some real life examples of this massive hosting. Maybe others can provide some numbers here :P
