Query user tables

I have been tasked with listing all of the tables in a specific user.
could someone please give me the syntax for doing this?
for example, i need to list all of the tables in user 'GIS'
Thank you!

So, you want to SELECT all tables WHERE the OWNER is 'GIS' ?
That's a tricky one, alright. If only there were a table that contained that information. It might be called ALL_TABLES or something.

  • How to write select query for all the user tables in database

    Can any one tell me how to select the columns from all the user tables in a database
    Here I had 3columns as input...
    1.phone no
    2.memberid
    3.sub no.
    I have to select call time,record,agn from all the tables in a database...all database tables have the same column names but some may have additional columns..
    Eg: select call time, record,agn from ah_t_table where phone no= 6186759765,memberid=j34563298
    Query has to execute not only for this table but for all user tables in the database..all tables will start with ah_t
    I am trying for this query since 30days...
    Help me please....any kind of help is appreciated.....

    Starting in Oracle 10, you can also use Q-notation:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e17118/sql_elements003.htm#i42617
    ...and also can you tell me how to execute the output of this script. What front end are you using? If it's SQL*Plus, then you can SPOOL the query to a file, and then execute that file, like this:
    -- Suppress SQL*Plus features that interfere with raw output
    SET     FEEDBACK     OFF
    SET     PAGESIZE     0
    -- Run preliminary query to generate main query
    SPOOL     c:\my_sql_dir\all_ah_t.sql
    SELECT       'select call time, record, agn from '
    ||       owner
    ||       '.'
    ||       table_name
    ||       ' where phone_no = ''6186759765'' and memberid = j34563298'
    ||       CASE
               WHEN ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( ORDER BY  owner          DESC
                              ,        table_name      DESC

               ELSE  ' UNION ALL'
           END     AS txt
    FROM       all_tables
    WHERE       SUBSTR (table_name, 1, 4)     = 'AH_T'
    ORDER BY  owner
    ,       table_name
    SPOOL     OFF
    -- Restore SQL*Plus features that interfere with raw output (if desired)
    SET     FEEDBACK     ON
    SET     PAGESIZE     50
    -- Run main query:
    @c:\my_sql_dir\all_ah_t.sql
    so that i form a temporary view for this script as a table(or store the result in a temp table) and my problem will be solved..Sorry, I don't understand. What is a "temporary view"?

  • Querying users and their resource names from SSO tables

    Hi,
    Any ideas how to query the SSO tables so that i can extract all users and which "Resource Access Information" (for Forms based applications) is assigned to each user.?
    A bit like the solution on the link below but also with a join to resource names (for Forms) that each user has.
    Querying user enabled status from SSO tables
    Thanks

    Thank you for that! I have extended this query to contain the ods.ct_uid table as follows as some users were being omitted. Also I have included a decode statement that changes the 'enabled' or 'disabled' to a 0 or 1.
    SELECT
    UPPER(cus.attrvalue) username,
    DECODE(NVL(ena.attrvalue, 'enabled'), 'enabled', 1, 'disabled', 0) enabled
    FROM
    ods.ct_orclisenabled ena,
    ods.ct_uid cus,

    WHERE cus.entryid = ctu.entryid
    AND ena.entryid (+) = ctu.entryid

  • How to save matrix do user table?

    Hi,
    I have created on system form matrix as:
                        oNewItem = oOrderForm.Items.Add("a", SAPbouiCOM.BoFormItemTypes.it_MATRIX)
                        oNewItem.Top = 150
                        omatrix1 = oNewItem.Specific

                        oColumn = oColumns.Add("#", SAPbouiCOM.BoFormItemTypes.it_EDIT)
                        oColumn.TitleObject.Caption = "#"
                        oColumn.Width = 20

                        oColumn = oColumns.Add("cesta", SAPbouiCOM.BoFormItemTypes.it_EDIT)
    This matrix i have bounded to datasource as:
                oDBDataSource = oOrderForm.DataSources.DBDataSources.Add("@SKIL_ATTACH")
                oConditions = New SAPbouiCOM.Conditions
                oCondition = oConditions.Add

                oCondition.Alias = "U_PATH"
                oCondition.Operation = SAPbouiCOM.BoConditionOperation.co_EQUAL
                oCondition.CondVal = "xxx"
                oCondition.BracketCloseNum = 1
                oDBDataSource.Query(oConditions)

                omatrix1 = oItem.Specific
                oColumns = omatrix1.Columns
                oColumn = oColumns.Item("cesta")
                oColumn.DataBind.SetBound(True, "@SKIL_ATTACH", "U_XCESTA1")
                oColumn = oColumns.Item("code")
                oColumn.DataBind.SetBound(True, "@SKIL_ATTACH", "CODE")
                oColumn = oColumns.Item("name")
                oColumn.DataBind.SetBound(True, "@SKIL_ATTACH", "NAME")
                omatrix1.LoadFromDataSource()
    The user table has 3 my fields (U_Path, U_xcesta and U_xcesta1) abd 2 fileds (code and name) - this two fields i didnt create, i think that are some system fields?
    On the system form everything seems to be ok, I can add rows, modify data, set new data, ... After changing any data in this matrix, the system button will change from OK to Update or Add and after click on this button in status bar is OK, the data was added or updated...
    The problem is, that in user table aren`t data modified and there are still old data.
    I tried to make update manually as:
                    oItem = oOrderForm.Items.Item("a")
                    omatrix1 = oItem.Specific
                    omatrix1.AddRow(1, 0)
                    Dim cell As SAPbouiCOM.Cell
                    Dim col As SAPbouiCOM.Column
                    Dim ed As SAPbouiCOM.EditText
                    col = omatrix1.Columns.Item("code")
                    cell = col.Cells.Item(1)
                    ed = cell.Specific
                    ed.String = CStr("some data")
                    omatrix1.Columns.Item("cesta").Editable = True
                    omatrix1.Columns.Item("cesta").Cells.Item(1).Click(SAPbouiCOM.BoCellClickType.ct_Double)
                    omatrix1.FlushToDataSource()
                    omatrix1.AddRow(1, 1)
    but nothing happens and data in table are still old. What I`m doing bad? Could anyone help me please?
    Please be patient, because Im working with SBO for short time. Thanks!

    I solved is through manual updating and inserting to database as"
                        oUserTable = oCompany.UserTables.Item("SKIL_ATTACH")
                        oOrderForm.DataSources.DataTables.Item(0).ExecuteQuery("SELECT coalesce(max(convert(integer, code)),0) as max from dbo.[@SKIL_ATTACH] with(nolock)")
                        oUserTable.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_Popis").Value = "xxxxx"
                        oUserTable.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_PATH").Value = "xxxxx"
                        oUserTable.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_OP").Value = "xxxxx"
                        lRetCode = oUserTable.Add
    It works, but I think that it is not the easiest way.

    Hi Ibai,
      Thanks for your feed back. I give you an example.
    Let say now i wanna print employee list, so i will go
    1. Main Menu -> Reports -> HR -> Employee List
    2. Choose the Selection Criteria -> OK
    3. Matrix will display (Employee List)
    4. I can print the report click on print button
    5. Printing report
    My target
    1. Main Menu -> Eric_SubMenu -> Employee List
    2. Matrix will display (Employee List)
    3. Print button
    4. Print report
    My problem
    Now I would like to use my own report format. My own report format means I wanna add on my logo or do some customization within the employee report. So how I am going to do? I only able to display the employee list in matrix. How do I create a new report format and display it.
    Thanks.

  • User tables default forms

    Hello,
    I want to use the user tables default forms (after adding the user table in Uer Tables menu, it's generated a form to view that table: add, delete, update info).
    I'd like to lauch this form from my add-on menu. I know how to do that, but I wonder if that MenuID of the menu depends on the SBO installation (on what other tables were added before in SBO). Also, I'd like to put Choose from list capabilities in that form. I know also how to do this (just like a system form), but I also don't now if the FormID is the same on each installation.
    Thank you for your answer.
    I hope I made myself clear.
    Irina Stanca

    You may try this to find the MenuUID of your UDT:
    Start Saved Query through menuitem
    Have you checked Application.ResourceData? I'm not sure whether UDT forms are considered system forms, though. Anyway, you should be able to get the FormID of your UDT form on the fly by iterating the Application.Forms collection and checking the Title property, which equals the UDT Description.

  • Using VPD in combination with a user table?

    I'm very new with VPD's. In fact, I don't know a thing about it yet (I know the philosophy behind it and the principle, but not the practical implementation). My question: Are VPD's always based on database-users? Our applications have a user-table now, where the access rights to applications are stored. Once a user is present in that table and has the necessary rights, he can login to the application. So we don't have an actual database-user for each "real-life" user, just an entry in a table.
    Is it possible to use the system of VPD's (and maybe Oracle Label Security) with users stored in a table, instead of actual database users?

    TomVD wrote:
    My question: Are VPD's always based on database-users? No, they are not. You could for example put VPD policies on tables that restrict access after a certain time of the day (not caring which user attempts to access the data, using only SYSDATE and a given cut off access time).

    VPD allows you to construct a predicate as you would like based on your requirements (you are basically appending a WHERE clause in to every query based on the logic you dictate on the objects and accesses you determine necessary).
    Typically if you're running through a connection pool (as it sounds like you are) you would use an application context to set a specific value (the logging in user) and then validate that against your Users table in whatever fashion tickles your fancy

  • User Table

    Hi there,
    I created a user table with 16 fields, if I run a query like "SELECT * FROM myTable" I can see all the column and the data inserted, when I use "Tools-User Tables" and then I select myTable I see only 14 fields and is not matter of resize.
    How come?

    When ur table is being shown with the columns please click the Form Settings on the tool bar and make sure all the cols are Visible and Active.
    Hope it helps,

  • TSQL for capture and insert to a user table when blcoking is happening on a SQL server

    Hi,
    I am searching for a TSQL which will capture the blocking script to a table with execution plan and all other necessaryu details. I tried with below script but its not giving the text for blocked statement
    I t will be nice if i get RequestingText and  BlockingTest
    SELECT @@servername as Instancename,getdate() as [date],session_id,start_time,status,command,database_id,blocking_session_id,
    wait_type,wait_time,last_wait_type,ST.TEXT AS SQL,
    wait_resource,open_transaction_count,cpu_time,total_elapsed_time,reads,writes,logical_reads,text_size from sys.dm_exec_requests SR
    CROSS APPLY SYS.DM_EXEC_SQL_TEXT(SR.SQL_HANDLE) AS ST
    where blocking_session_id >0
    I tried the below link also, this this script also got blocked
    http://blog.sqlauthority.com/2010/10/06/sql-server-quickest-way-to-identify-blocking-query-and-resolution-dirty-solution/

    But when you run select * from sys.sysprocesses where blocked >0
    i can see blocking
    and it will be nice if I get RequestingText and BlockingTest
    in the user table
    You can get the requesting text for the spid that is blocked, plus all the other information you get from sys.sysprocesses by
    select SUBSTRING(st1.text, (p.stmt_start/2)+1,
    ((CASE p.stmt_end
    WHEN -1 THEN DATALENGTH(st1.text)
    ELSE p.stmt_end
    END - p.stmt_start)/2) + 1) AS RequestingText,
    p.*
    from sys.sysprocesses p
    CROSS APPLY sys.dm_exec_sql_text(p.sql_handle) AS st1
    where p.blocked <> 0;
    But you will not bee able to get the command that caused the lock that is causing the blocking.  SQL does not keep that information.  For a lock, it only keeps the spid that owns it, what is locked, and the kind of lock.  It does not keep
    the command that caused the lock.  And while you can, at least sometimes get the last command the blocking spid has issued, but that may well not be the command that caused the lock.  The command that caused the lock might be anything the blocking
    spid ran since it entered transaction state.  And since that could be the last command or many, many commands ago, you won't be able to get that information with a query into the system tables and/or views.

  • How to implement 'Quick Select' column in a query result table?

    Hi,
    I have a requirement in OAF to design a search page with 'Quick select' column.
    One of the column in the query result table should be a quick select.
    Once user clicks on the quick select column, we have to navigate back to the previous page with the row value selected.
    Can anyone help me in this.

    Also refer the search exercise in the toolbox tutorials.
    you can implement the quick search in the same way as update and delete buttons.

  • How to catch events on user tables forms?

    Hi all,
    Is there any way to catch the events on user defined tables' form which opens from Tools-User Tables? The form Id we get is not unique so we can't initialize the form with that ID or put it in  an If  loop for pval.formUId.
    any clues?
    Thanks in advance.....

    Hi Binita,
    The UDT form should have a form type in the format:
    110xxx
    where xxx is the value in the TblNum field in the OUTB table (eg 110015 if the TblNum field is 15).
    Therefore, you can query the OUTB table for your UDT name and get the correct TblNum value and then calculate the correct form type for your table. If you want to filter events then you'll need to run this query as your addon starts and dynamically add the correct event types and filters to your addon.
    Kind Regards,
    Owen

    Statistics have been gathered for the MDSYS user.
    If this had not been SYS schema I would have immediately concluded that fresh statistics are required. The SYS objects concerend are valid with all indexes
    From my understanding you are not meant to gather stats for the SYS schema in Oracle 9 as Data Dictionary queries still uses RBO?
    Any ideas as to why Oracle is doing full table scans when querying SYS tables? The optimizer_mode is set to FIRST_ROWS.
    Any ideas greatly recevied.
    Thanks

    Maybe I'm missing something but this:
    INDEX FULL SCAN     SISESTAT     I0_ESTRUTURA_COMERCIALindicates that one of those indexes is being used.
    This:
    T_ESTRUTURA_COMERCIALIs nowhere to be found in your Explain Plan. It appears that either you have posted the wrong plan
    or Oracle is doing a query rewrite to a materialized view.

  • User tables disappeared from our Planning SQL table

    All of the user tables in the SQL database associated with our Planning application mysteriously disappeared.
    We created a classic Planning application and converted it to an EPMA application. We deployed the application in our test environment and then used Lifecycle Management to migrate it to production. Everything was functioning well until we started getting errors saying "Creating rebind thread to RMI
    Query Failed: SQL_GET_SYSTEMCFG: null
    java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: [FMWGEN][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Invalid object name 'HSP_SYSTEMCFG'."
    We checked the tables in our production Planning relational database and all of the HSP* tables were gone. The HSP_SYSTEMCFG table disappeared sometime before 11/14/12 and the remaining tables disappeared between 11/14 and 11/16. The tables went missing in both our test and production environments, but I'm not sure of the timing for the test database. Our SQL DBA couldn't find any unusual activity in the SQL logs. We are trying to determine the cause and have not had any luck so far. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
    We have restored the tables from a database backup but are concerned that the problem could occur again.

    Are you serious? This is EXACTLY the same isue that ypou had ORACLE USER_TABLES Table names in CAPITALS.

  • Upgrading user tables with NCHAR columns in 10.2.0.1

    Hi,
    we have upgraded our database to 10.2.0.1 from 8.1.7.4 through DBUA
    Before upgradation our database was having WEISO8895P1 Character Set and WEISO8895P1 National character set.
    In 10g we are having WEISO8895P1 Character Set and AL16UTF16 National character set.
    Now to upgrade user tables with NCHAR columns, we have to perform the following steps to run the scripts :
    SQL> SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE
    SQL> STARTUP RESTRICT
    SQL> @ utlnchar.sql
    SQL> @ n_switch.sql
    SQL> SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE
    SQL> STARTUP
    But when i query for the NCHAR or NVARCHAR2 or NCLOB datatype for verification, the NCHAR columns in the user tables have not been upgraded, it still remains the same.
    Kindly suggest for the same.
    Regards
    Milin

    Kindly explain or post the following
    - the 'query' you used after 'upgradation' (a word not occurring in any dictionary and probably specific to the Hindi-English) for 'verification'
    - what result you expected
    - what 'still remains the same' means
    Kindly consider no one is looking over your should. If you don't plan to post anything other than 'It doesn't work', paid support might be a better option for you.
    Volunteers like we are not being paid to tear the information out of you.
