Query variable values in bookmarks (portal favourites)

Hi,
Basic problem: When 2 different users save their modified query views they behave differently. In other case the favourite opens straight to the report without displaying the variable screen and in the other case the variable screen is shown with preselected values.
We'd like to standardize the function throughout the organization in such a way that every saved query view would behave so that the selection variable values would be automatically populated and the report would open without displaying the variable screen.
We ran the same report in debugging mode and found several differencies:
BI_TARGET_IVIEW (missing from the report which doesn't show variable screen)
BusinessParameters
- With Var Screen: Contains more information, f.ex. BW-client, and the technical name of the query
- Without Var Screen: Just the bookmark technical ID
ContentLink
- With Var screen: QUERY=SALES_MP_Q0009&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X
- Without Var screen: empty field

Hi,
A. If a person is doing the following activity
1. Using the Export and Distribute-Bookmark function in the context menu of a Web application
or
2. In the BEx Web Analyzer when saving the ad hoc analysis
or
3. When you personalize Web applications
It will create a bookmark with bookmark ID.  (To View theses report  (SA38)
RSWR_BOOKMARK_REORG - SAP NetWeaver 7.0 format)
B. But if user is creating bookmark from portal framework.. like add to portal favorite or add to browser favorite in toolbar of portal, it only store the navigation struture of portal role.
A.1 Regarding showing Variable screen.
IN BEx Template, if we set  Show Variable Screen  as OFF, It will not show variable screen provided the mandatory filelds are there. For case A, Since Bookmark ID providing all the variables information it will not show Variable screen.

  • Assigning variable values in the virtual key figures Badi

    Hi,
I'm currently using the virtual chars and key figures RSR_OLAP_BADI to calculate days late as 0NETDUEDATE - sy-datum. This works fine, but the query actually uses variable 0P_KEYDT to determine the key date (set in restricted key figures so not directly).
I want to use this key date variable value rather than the system date to calculate Days Late in the CALCULATE method of the Badi. In the old user exits I could have retrieved the value from internal table i_t_var_range in the variables user exit ZXRSRU01 and stored it globally.
Does anyone know how to get a query variable value within the RSR_OLAP_BADI Badi? I've tried using BAPI_REPPROV_GETVARIABLES but don't know how to pick up the session id to make it work. Is there a BADI equivalent of EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001?
I'm sure one of you out there has the answer!
    Thanks,
    Stuart

    Hi József
Yes I have, I think using SAP's white paper on virtual characteristics and key figures.
My only outstanding question would be: is there a replacement BADI for the variables user exit and if not why not, since BADIs are supposed to be the preferred way now?

  • Variable Values through VBA

What is object name in VBA to get query variable values? Is it possible at all?

    Hi,
I am, not sure why you have the function run there but here is the correct syntax and some help comments.
Function SAPBEXshowTextElements(Optional selectGroup As String, Optional atCell As Range) As Integer
u2022     Use this to automate documentation of query in the workbook.
u2022     Return value of zero indicates that no errors were encountered.  Otherwise, function returns number of errors encountered.
u2022     If atCell is not specified, the active cell is used to determine which query to return Text Elements for.

  • Wrong variable values on refresh

    Dear Experts,
I have a issue in refreshing the query variable values.
Suppose we have a executed a report with the variables and values as follows:
    Plant : 1000
    Fiscal Year / Period: 001.2008 - 016.2008 ( Interval )
Material: XY and YZ ( Multiple single Values )
Query output is displayed and its fine.
We refreshed the query and changed the variable values as follows:
    Plant: 1100
    Fiscal Year / Period: 001.2007 - 016.2007
Material: YZ and executed the report.
Now we want to refresh the query variables. I clicked on refresh button. Query variable input screen is displayed with the
    varaible values as follows:
    Plant: 1000
    Fiscal Year / Period: 001.2008 - 016.2008
    Material : XY and YZ
My question is, if we refresh the variable values then the plant should show 1100 and Fiscal yr period as 001.2007 - 016.2007
and material as YZ. But they are showing the first set of values.
What may be the reason. Should we do any OLAP variable settings ?
    Regards,
    Bhadri M.

    Hello,
Well if on 7.0, then try doing the following:
Pull all your restrictions variable to the char restriction side and dont keep any variable under the default values section.

  • Variable input values issue with Portal reports in WAD

    Hi Gurus,
We have issue with our reports which are created in WAD and when executed through CRM portal. We are executing the report with some selection criteria by changing default values, and once we get the out put we use SAVEAS option to save the report to favourites. But  the issue arises when we open the reprot again by clicking OPEN tab next to SAVEAS button. It opens our report, but the selection screen vaues are getting changed to default instead of showing the values which we entered before saving the report.
ex: we have fiscalyear/period: default value is 001.2009 - 010.2009, but i changed the value to 001.2010 - 010.2010 and saved the out put of the report. when i reopen the report useing open option, it is showing 001.2009 - 010.2009 in input screen.
Please let me know if some one has come accross this issue, or is it standard SAP behaviour. It is working fine when executed through Query designer. This is not related to personlization of variabl.es.
    Regards,
    Yada

    Hi Hari,
Thanks for your promp response...but is there any settings to get the variable values with out saving as variant, because its working fine when executing through query designer....

  • Issue with variable values while adding report to Bookmarks/Favorites

    Hello All,
I am able to save the reports from my portal as bookmarks with the appropiate navigation state & variable values for reports which do not have a mandatory value variable with no default value. For all other queries like queries with no mandatory variables or queries containing mandatory variables with default values, this is working fine. Any inputs is appreciated. We are in BI7.0 with SP12.
    Thanks,

What's your question, because from your statement, it seems like everything is fine ??

  • RRI - Jump query, unable to pass the variable value from source to target

    Hi,
I've a source query which has a variable on 0vendor, from this query i jump to another query for which i want to pass the this variable value, in the target query i've vendor in free characteristics (no filter or variable in there), and in RSBBS i tried the assignment details options keeping vendor as generic, tried variable and the variable name but nothing seem to work.
But when query is run i can jump into target query but the vendor variable value doesnt get passed thru the values i get in target query is for all rather than for the variable entered vendor value in the source.
    btw we're in NW2004s.
    any help appreciated with points.
    thanks
    Mayil

Anyways, I read somewhere that a variable with replacement path in target query would work, tried it seem to work.
let me know if there other way to do it without creating a variable in target query.
    thanks

  • How can i insert the variable value in MS ACCES Query

i am creating one Query (query1) in MS ACCESS ( like we creaate Tables, Forms and Reports in MS ACCESS ) in this Query i have given 2 constent value in BETWEEN CLAUSE , after that i Created a CROSS QUERY which is based on the privious Query (query1).
Now i want to insert the variable value using JSP and HTML in to Query(query1).
Doing this i want to execute the Query (query1) with variable perameters and
wants to get the risponce form CROSS QUERY.
In this matter how can i insert the value in Query(query1) using JDBC and JSP.

    The query is
Select ZMSGMAP.GROUP_CODE as 'group', ZMSDSTATE.STATE_DESC as 'state', ZMSTRN.YRMON, sum(ZMSTRN.CMAQTY) as 'qty' from ZMSDSTATE,ZMSGMAP,ZMSTRN Where ZMSTRN.STATE=ZMSDSTATE.STATE and ZMSTRN.PLANT=ZMSGMAP.PLANT_CODE and ZMSTRN.YRMON between "+p1+" and "+p2+" Group by ZMDGMAP.GROUP_CODE, ZMSDSTATE.STSTE_DESC, ZMSTRN.YRMONUsing this query i m trying to display the risult but the YRMON is displaying in a single column, i want to display it ia seperat columns. here p1 and p2 is YRMON(it is the yer month like 200102), for this solution i have created Cross table Query which is based on uper Query (query1) and design it column wise Display, it is givng the right display, but the problem is this i m not getting the technique throw which i can insert the variable values in to the query1 (which is designed in MS ACCESS).

  • Visual Composer - Variable values from VC to Query

    Hello,
I am determining the URL dynamically using Function Module in VC, generate the necessary URL and execute the query... This part is working perfectly.
Now I want to pass a variable value to it  as well.. Any ideas...
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Try to use some function module which will convert query data into flat tables. (eg., RS_VC_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA_FLAT).
    Hope this solves your issue.

  • How to replace variable value of a sql query dynamically

    Hi all,
Trying to execute sql queries present in Oracle table and the query it self contains the ODI variable #EMP_NO.
At the run time we thought of passing the variable values.
    table contains query like
    update table <table name> set <column name>= 5000 where emp_no = #EMP_NO
We need to execute the sql query using a ODI procedure, to pick the sql query from table we use another variable #varSQLID and in the command on source tab wrote like
    select sql_query varSQL from emp_sql where query_id=#varSQLID
    Command on target
    #varSQL
when ever I tried to execute I am getting error please let me know what changes are required .
The question is whether it's possible to replace the variable value present in the above sql ?
    regards,
    Palash Chatterjee

    Thanks Siddhartha,
Actually we have been doing the same, means half of the query has been kept in the table and rest is being added in the " command on source " tab of the procedure .
But the problem is , the "where" condition is not same for all SQL queries,
to provide 27 different sqls queries for 27 packages we have to create 27 procedures (as "where" condition may take other column values along with "EMPNO" for the JOIN condition ) .
Any suggestion of keeing SQL along with the variable and storing it in the table may resolve our problem and work of 27 procedures can be performed by a single procedure .
    regards,
    Palash Chatterjee

  • Insert 600 variable values in pop up filter of a web query

    Hello all,
in order to analyze some Material movements I have to insert 600 material numbers in the selction of a query. In Bex Analyzer I can copy and paste the variable in the variable pop up screen.
But when I execute the query in web the filter pop up screen is different to the sap gui pop up screen from Bex Analyzer.
How can I insert 600 variable values in the variable filter screen when I execute a query in web?

  • Changing variable values in query navigation

    Hello,
We used to use the functionality of a user exit variable for a web template query and could enter a default value for a query, like yesterday's date. This allowed the web template to be presented without a user having to enter variables in order to initially see data. Then either dropdowns or the navigation block objects could be used to navigate the query. To do this the, "Can be changed in query navigation", was set to on. In BI 7.0 this functionality has been removed. Is there a way to provide a default value to a characteristic that can still be changed during query navigation?
According to documentation this functionality has been enhanced with default values in the variables but there does not seem to be a way to enter a non-fixed value and still change it during navigation.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rick

This can be done by changing the variable to be processed with user exits and changing the user exit for variables to populate the variable value at runtime.
