Query Variables name

Hi Gurus,
How to  find out or in which table I could find out all the variables used in the queries for a particular Multi-provider ?
I checked RSZGLOBV, but in this table I found Infocube column is blank, I can not specify Multi-Provider name.
Any help I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Liza

Hi,
Please follow the steps below :
1. Go to table RSZELTDIR and Enter DEFTP as VAR to get the list of ELTUID's .
2. Use this list of ELTUID's to get the list of queries bu using the relation as mentioned in my WIKI.
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BI/ExploretherelationbetweenBEx+Tables
You can use the reeverse approach in your case.

  • Report failed to parse SQL query:ORA-01745: invalid host/bind variable name

    Hi,
We are currently upgrading from v2.2.0.00.32 to v4.0.0.00.46.
I have copied the applications onto our test server along with the various database objects and data etc.
When I am running a report in v4, it is failing with the following error: "failed to parse SQL query: ORA-01745: invalid host/bind variable name".
When I copy the SQL that builds the report into TOAD (on out test server) it runs OK so really cant see why it would fail in APEX. It works fine when I run the query in our APEX v2 and in TOAD in our live server.
    The query is as follows:
    SELECT
    aea.ALTERATION_ID
    ,aea.ALTERATION_ID "ALTERATION_ID_DISPLAY"
    ,aea.assembly_name "Revised BOM"

  • Crystal Reports - Problem with too long BEx Query technical variable names?

    Hello!
I have Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 and the SAP BO Integration Kit XI 3.1 SP3 installed and want to access a BEx query on a BW system within my Crystal Report.
The problem is that the name of the BEx variable is not displayed correctly (just "[]" is displayed for the variable name) as a parameter within Crystal Reports when I import the query. Furthermore I can't navigate through the fields of the query within Crystal Reports.
The technical names of the BEx query-variables have a length of 12 characters.
The interessting thing is that if I change the technical names of the BEx query variables to a maximum length of 8 characters everything works fine.
I use the SAP toolbar within Crystal Reports 2008 to create the report and have the "MDX-driver"-setting selected.
Has anyone ever had the same problem? Any suggestions?
I don't want to change the technical names of the variables of my queries...
    thanks,
    Dominik

    Hi!
Just fixed the problem: The "Transports" for the Integration Kit had to be imported at the BW-System

  • Customer Exit - Fill variable depending on query view name

    Hi
    We're running BW 7.0
We have a query which is used for broadcasting and as well for user input. That's why we have a variable which is default filled by a customer exit. This variable is the week and is default filled: fist week of year up to actual week.
But now we have for the same query different selection requirenments.
The same query should be send by email with
    - first week of year up to actual week
    - previous week
Because of dynamic variables the calweek needs to be filled by customer exit and worked until now fine - until a second requirenment was coming (separat broadcast only with previous week).
I don't like the idea to copy the query because of maintenance work.
I'd like to have several views - and depending on the view name etc. I would fill the customer variable. But I don't get the query view name into customer exit - right?
Do you have any other ideas?
How do you handle such requirenments?
    Thx
    Roger

    Hi Helder,
I understand your requirement but I don't understand the solution you are using. I think it's a bit tricky.
    What I would do is:
    Create three variables:
    - VAR1: Single value, mandatory, ready for input, customer exit. Used to store "User input date"
    - VAR2: Select option, customer exit, not ready for input. Used to store Valid From restriction.
    - VAR3: Select option, customer exit, not ready for input. Used to store Valid to restriction.
    Then, use this code:
    WHEN 'VAR2'.
    IF I_STEP = 2.
    READ TABLE I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE
    with key VNAM = 'VAR1'.
    CLEAR L_S_RANGE.
    L_S_RANGE-LOW = LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW.
    L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
    L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'LE'.
    APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
    ENDIF.
    WHEN 'VAR3'.
    IF I_STEP = 2.
    READ TABLE I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE
    with key VNAM = 'VAR1'.
    CLEAR L_S_RANGE.
    L_S_RANGE-LOW = LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW.
    L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
    L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'GE'.
    APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
    ENDIF.
I think this should work, and you'll have three independent variables used for one purpose each.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Diego

  • How to find Query name using Variable name (by Customer exit code in CMOD).

    Dear,
    I have got answer..
Method 1 :Right click on variable in Query Designer and find the where used list.
Method 2 : SE16--> RSZGLOBV -->Enter the variable VNAM as 'Variable Name' ->Get the VARUNIID> Go to table RSZELTXREF --> Enter the values of VARUNIID in TELTUID --> Get the list of SELTUID --> Go to table RSZCOMPDIR --> Enter the values of SELTUID in COMPUID --> Get the list of COMPID -->COMPID is the list of queries

  • Table name ? with query name , variable name and variant .

    Hi All,
Is there any single table with fields as query name , variable name and variant ?
or any table which i can build a view to get these fields.
or any other way ?? to get this fields in single table
    Thanks,

    Hi,
first use the proper heading for a question.
you want the query all details means technical name, variable and variable type use RSRTQ
it will give total information of query.
    Bex related tables
    RSZELTDIR ----
Directory of the reporting component elements
    RSZELTTXT ----
    Texts of reporting component elements
    RSZELTXREF  ---
Directory of query element references .
    Thanks,

  • Is it possible to add a property using variable in variable name?

I want to query for a list of virtual machines within a folder, then create a menu of the host names using forms.  Since the list of machines is subject to change, I want to build the list each time the script is run, rather than build off a static
    list.
For each virtual machine I need to create the list of variables below:
    $hostnameX = New-Object System.Windows.Forms.checkbox
    $hostnameX.Location = New-Object System.Drawing.Size(10,20)
    $hostnameX.Size = New-Object System.Drawing.Size(100,20)
    $hostnameX.Checked = $true
    $hostnameX.Text = "Type"
    $hostnameX.Controls.Add($hostnameX)
The location and size values need to be incremented but I think I can figure that part out.
I can use New-Variable to generate the initial variable. But I receive errors using the same method to try to create a new property for the variable.
    $VMS = Get-Cluster MyCLUS | Get-vApp "My vApp" | Get-VM | Select Name,PowerState | Sort Name
    For ($i=0; $i -lt ($VMS.count); $i++)
    $VMS[$i].Name
    $VMGUEST = "$($VMS[$i].Name)" -replace("-","")
    New-Variable "CB$VMGUEST" "New-Object System.Windows.Forms.checkbox"
    New-Variable "CB$VMGUEST.Location" "New-Object System.Drawing.Size(10,20)"
In the above, $CBVMGUEST1 =  New-Object System.Windows.Forms.checkbox which is what I want,  but $CBVMGUEST1.Location is not set.
Is there way to add a property using a variable in the variable name?  Or any other suggestions on how to tackle this issue?

    Hi,
maybe another approach is a bit easier.
    Use a hash-array like
    $CB = @{}
    $CB[$VMGUEST] = New-Object System.Windows.Forms....
    $CB[$VMGUEST].Location = New-Object System.Drawing....
    Mit freundlichen Grüßen Jens Kalski
That's the correct answer.  Anytime you find yourself wanting to create variables named "Widget1", "Widget2", "Widget3", etc... it's a pretty clear indication that what you really need is a collection object of some sort.  That might be an array,
a hashtable, or any other data structure for holding other objects, depending on your specific needs.

  • Parsing query variable

I am facing a problem while parsing query output variable.
    Scenario:-
I have stored session variable name as the column value of a
    table.
Now I have used cfquery tag and get the result column value
which is the session variable name. But cold fusion didn't parse
that session variable with its actual value.
Step1- Table view by using cfdump tag
    query - Top 1 of 1 Rows
    PARAMETERNAME - PARAMETERVALUE
    1 @matterspacename - #SESSION.Matter_space_Name#
Step2- Using cfquery tag to fetch data from table:-
    <cfquery name="qSendNotification"
    datasource="#Database_DSN#">
    select
    ParameterName,
    ParameterValue
    from
    Tbl_EventParameterDetails
    where
    NotificationEventID = 1
    and IsActive = 1
    </cfquery>
Step3- Now using result of cfquery output.
    <cfset event_data= #qSendNotification.ParameterValue#>
Step4- When I used cfdump to display result value its shows
    as under:-
    <cfdump var="#event_data#">
    output:- #SESSION.Matter_space_Name#
Instead of parsing actual value of the session variable it
    displays the session variable name.
Please help me, How to parse this session value or if my code
has some error, please suggest me any other way to handle this
    situation.
    Thanks in advance

This is my actual code from which i m getting result from
cfquery and then concatinating it into a variable and then passing
    it to the stored procedure.

    select

    where
    NotificationEventID = #NotificationEventID#
    and nep.IsActive = 1
    and epd.IsActive = 1

  • Presentation Variable name being passed as value

I have a requirement where value needs to be checked against two separate fields for filtering (as OR statement). But there should be ability to filter on these fields separately as well.
    Dashboard prompt:
    Province [Multi search]
    State [Multi search]
Combined search (Province OR State Fields) [Edit Box] --- used to pass presentation variable
    Report filter:
    Province is prompted
    AND State is prompted
AND Province is @{presentation_variable} (no default)
OR State is @{presentation_variable} (no default)
But if the text field with presentation variable in not used to filter, then the report shows no result because the presentation variable name itself is taken as a value. Any solution how this can be done making sure that if province only is searched for then the presentation variable is not passed as value and the query returns no results?
    Thanks everyone.

Thanks Rachit, that helps. For the scenario mentioned initially, even this works:
    Province is @{presentation_variable} (no default)
OR State is @{presentation_variable} (no default)
But the challenge is if I want to add another filter (like country) also as a filter. When users filter only on country, then the report shows no results because no value has been passed to the presentation variable and the query generated uses presentation variable name as the value!

  • Variable name and table name

    Hi all
I know the variable name should not be same as the name of table columns used in the pl/sql block. Then why following query is working:
    declare
    empno number(6);
    begin
    select empno
    into empno
    from emp
    where ename = 'KING';
    dbms_output.put_line(empno);
    end;
    7839

The column name takes precedence over the variable name in the SELECT list.

  • Migrating Access Query Variables

    Hello All,
I noticed that Access queries with user input variables cause the migration wizard process to abort in the build phase. When you look at the generated sql file in SQL Developer, you see a comment about " -- intentional generation error" which aborts the migration.
I also noticed that if you run these commands one at a time that a pop-up appears and asks you for a variable name and the query is added to Oracle. Is there any way to make this happen during the quick migration process so that the whole process doesn't abort? Or some other way to ignore these errors? I ended up just deleting them from the Access application, but it seems to me that the migrator should handle this since they are so common.
    TIA,
    Mark

An SQL version IIF was introduced in SQL Server 2012 and newer:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh213574.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
Here is a sample for your question:
Create table test ( [SpellHRGCode] varchar(50))
    Insert into test values('DZ11123'),('DZ23555'),('DZ999')
Select IIf([SpellHRGCode] Like 'DZ11%','Lobar, Atypical or Viral Pneumonia'
,IIf([SpellHRGCode] Like 'DZ23%','Bronchopneumonia','Trauma')) as [HRG Group]
    from test
    drop table test
By the way, you can always use the CASE expression to rewrite your query for any version of SQL Server.

  • WebI Prompts using BEx Query Variables

    Hello,
I have the following issues with WebI report selection input paramaters (prompts) that use BW BEx Query variables. Could anyone please assist?
    Issue 1:
The WebI report has one mandatory and two optional input paramaters (all paramaters from BW BEx Query). When I execute the report via WebI rich client directly, enter the value for mandatory input parameter and leave blanks for both optional input parameters, the report ran OK and has no issue. However, when I ran it through CMC a strange thing happen: I could not select the value for mandatory input paramater as it requires to have values for both optional input paramaters first (which I wish to have them blank and optional). When I refersh values for the mandatory paramater, it says "List of Values for current prompt requires values for following prompts:...(ie. the two optional parameters).
Anyone has any idea - it seems like it is a CMC issue for the WebI...
    Issue 2:
Take the same WebI report above, the issue here is the order sequence of the prompts (ie. the selection input parameters). How can we change/control the sequence of the prompts? Whatever sequence of the varaiables (input paramters) in BW BEx Query, the WebI ignores it. Please advise.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Andy

I did not see separate thread for issue #1, therefore I'll us this thread.
I am running into similar issue when I get an error message ''List of Values for current prompt requires values for following prompts: <Name of the prompt>".
We are using BO V4, SP2, Patch 10 with SAP BW as DB via BEx queries.
I opened support ticket for this issue since obviousely it's still an issue after applying patch 10.
It's not an issue when 'Rich Internet Application' option is selected to view report in 'Reading' mode (via Launchpad Preferences then Web Inteligence; defautl value for viewing is 'Web').
I have not tried to use Client tools but even if it works with Client tools - it is not a solution for us. Our company does not plan to install client tools on end user computers.
Bigger issue us is that report scheduling invokes Web version (not Rich Internet Application). Therefore we cannot schedule report that is giving us problem described. I tried scheduling report from Launchpad and from CMC and both game me error highlighted.

  • Query Variable - Replacement Path

    Hi all,
I would need to fill a query variable (based on calendar week characteristic) with specific list of values. I need all calendar weeks that are present in infocube, but only if key-figure > 0. So I've created a query with cal. weeks in rows and with suppressed zero rows. Output values from query contains exactly what I need.
Than I created a variable (replacement path) with reference to mentioned query. But it seems to me that the variable does not contain all values displayed in the query, but only filtered values (if I use some restriction of cal. week).
Is it possible to achieve this using replacement path at all?
If not I would appreciate any idea or experiences how to accomplish this requirement.
    Many thanks,
    regards,
    Pavel

Hi Pavel, I didn't get your requirement 100% . Still, I would like to tell How Replacement path works.
First of all for the Source query you have given condition to restict the output of the query on particular keyfigure value > 0 ......  Right.
Now on second query, you have created the Characteristic variable with Replacement path....here some important things to look at.
while creating the variable, select Processing Type as REPLACEMENT PATH, then in the "Replacement path" Tab,  give Replaced variable with.. "Query" ...and at bottom, For QUERY give the query name.
If u want RRI facility from Source Query to Target Query, then u give RRI Connection in T-Code : RSBBS....
...and now when u execute the Second Query, First the first Query will be executed and those filtered values > 0 will be passed to the Second Query's variable input...then the second query will be executed...
But, in your case check once again all settings in Variable in Second Query..and Conditions block in First Query..
    It should definitely work...
