Question about load balancing between Portal and ABAP

Hi,
I have the problem whit load balancing between Portal and ECC (ERC) ABAP
Exist two system:
1) ECC (ERP) ABAP = Backend     Module = HR
2) EP (JAVA) = Frontend
The users (9000 users) logon in the EP and run query (data personal) in the ECC.  The problem to all user connect in Central Instance and not in the Dialog Instance.
How can balancing the conecction HTTP (EP) to ECC (ABAP)??
I need balancing in the ECC to Dialog Instance

Jco -> right. Another possibility is that you use iviews that point to the backend in this case you will need to use a load balanced entry for the backend system in the [system landscape|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/47/8c1e438d7017fce10000000a42189c/frameset.htm] -> SAP_R3_LoadBalancing
If you have ESS deployed on your portal, you will most probably need to do both.
Cheers Michael

  • Load-Balancing between Foreign and two Anchors

Hi, we have two foreign controllers (one active, one standby) and two anchor controllers. All APs are connected to the active foreign controller. The layer 3 networks for the wlan clients on both anchors are different for the same SSID. SSID: Internet, anchor 1: Subnet A, anchor 2: Subnet B. So when a client is getting anchored to Anchor 1, the clients will get an ip from subnet A and when the client is getting anchored to anchor 2, the client will get an ip from subnet B.
This is so far not a big problem because we only have a few accesspoints in some rooms. But what will happen, when we have a full covered wlan and the client roams from one AP to the other AP? Is there a possibility, that the client will anchored to a different anchor while roaming? I think this will result in a lack of connectivity because without a real disconnect the client will not ask for a new IP address.
Other question: Is it possible to disable this load-balancing between anchor controllers? Or can i make a client sticky to only one anchor as long as an access-session is established?
All controllers are 5760 with 3.3.3 software.

    Hi acontes,
    It's an interesting question.
In this case, if all AP's are on WLC-A and there is no possibility that an L3 inter-subnet roam will occur between WLC-A and WLC-B, I would just forward WLC-A to Anchor A and WLC-B (in the event of fail over) to Anchor B (if Anchors reside on different subnets). If you must specify Anchor A and Anchor B on each WLC for redundancy purposes, it's important to understand the guidelines and limitations with regard to Foreign / Anchor Design.
As Scott mentioned, the limitation with Anchoring design is that there is no primary / secondary configuration for an Anchor on the Foreign WLC.
If WLC-A has two entries (1) for Anchor-A and (2) for Anchor-B, the EoIP tunnels are establish and load-balancing occurs in a round robin fashion.
Keep in mind the following with regard to guest N+1 redundancy:
•A given foreign controller load balances wireless client connections across the list of anchor controllers configured for the guest WLAN. There is currently no method to designate one anchor as primary with one or more secondary anchors.
•Wireless clients that are associated with an anchor WLC that becomes unreachable are re-associated with another anchor defined for the WLAN. When this happens, assuming web authentication is being used, the client is redirected to the web portal authentication page and required to re-submit their credentials.
Since traffic is transported at Layer 2 via EoIP, the first point at which DHCP services can be implemented is either locally on the anchor controller or the controller can relay client DHCP requests to an external server. Since the IP address directly correlates to the DMZ subnet or the interface where the traffic egresses, it is possible for some clients to get IP's from both Subnet A or Subnet B in the event that WLC-A is building EoIP to both anchors.
    1) What happens if my clients roam?
Nothing... since all AP's are on WLC-A, it's Intra-Controller Roaming
Each controller supports same-controller client roaming across access points managed by the same controller. This roaming is transparent to the client as the session is sustained, and the client continues using the same DHCP-assigned or client-assigned IP address. The controller provides DHCP functionality with a relay function. Same-controller roaming is supported in single-controller deployments and in multiple-controller deployments.
Would it be better to choose the same DHCP Pool on both anchors?
It's probably better to have redundant anchors on the same subnet, but it's not required.
    3) How would you design this :-)
    WLC-A <--EoIP--> Anchor A (DHCP Pool A)
    WLC-A <--EoIP--> Anchor B (DHCP Pool A)
It's important to remeber what Scott mentioned about the lack of a primary / secondary relationship. If multiple controllers are added as mobility anchors for a particular WLAN on a foreign controller, the foreign controller internally sorts the controller by their IP address. The controller with the lowest IP address is the first anchor. For example, a typical ordered list would be 172.16.7.25, and 172.16.7.28. If the first client associates to the foreign controller's anchored WLAN, the client database entry is sent to the first anchor controller in the list, the second client is sent to the second controller in the list, and so on, until the end of the anchor list is reached. The process is repeated starting with the first anchor controller.
If any of the anchor controller is detected to be down, all the clients anchored to the controller are deauthenticated, and the clients then go through the authentication/anchoring process again in a round-robin manner with the remaining controller in the anchor list. This functionality is also extended to regular mobility clients through mobility failover. This feature enables mobility group members to detect failed members and reroute clients.

  • Question about Load balancing with IISPROXY

              Hi,
We are running WLS 5.1.0 SP5 on NT 4.0 SP6. We are not using clustering.
We are able to round robin between multiple instances of the WLS successfully.
Question: If one of the instances of WLS goes down, is there any way to configure
the plugin to take it out of the loop automatically (without using clustering)?
              Thanks,
              Anil.

This is not the syntax. Syntax is just this:
              MaxSkips=something.
              eg: MaxSkips=25
              The doc says:
              5:10:1000 for min:default:max
By which we mean that default value is 10, max is 1000 and min is 5. I guess the
docs are confusing about the syntax here. We will correct them.

  • Some questions about the integration between BIEE and EBS

    Hi, dear,
I'm a new bie of BIEE. In these days, have a look about BIEE architecture and the BIEE components. In the next project, there are some work about BIEE development based on EBS application. I have some questions about the integration :
    1) generally, is the BIEE database and application server decentralized with EBS database and application? Both BIEE 10g and 11g version can be integrated with EBS R12?
    2) In BIEE administrator tool, the first step is to create physical tables. if the source appliation is EBS, is it still needed to create the physical tables?
    3) if the physical tables creation is needed, how to complete the data transfer from the EBS source tables to BIEE physical tables? which ETL tool is prefer for most developers? warehouse builder or Oracle Data Integration?
    4) During data transfer phase, if there are many many large volume data needs to transfer, how to keep the completeness? for example, it needs to transfer 1 million rows from source database to BIEE physical tables, when 50%is completed, the users try to open the BIEE report, can they see the new 50% data on the reports? is there some transaction control in ETL phase?
could anyone give some guide for me? I'm very appreciated if you can also give any other information.
    Thanks in advance.

    1) generally, is the BIEE database and application server decentralized with EBS database and application? Both BIEE 10g and 11g version can be integrated with EBS R12?You, shud consider OBI Application here which uses OBIEE as a reporting tool with different pre-built modules. Both 10g & 11g comes with different versions of BI apps which supports sources like Siebel CRM, EBS, Peoplesoft, JD Edwards etc..
    2) In BIEE administrator tool, the first step is to create physical tables. if the source appliation is EBS, is it still needed to create the physical tables? Its independent of any soure. This is OBIEE modeling to create RPD with all the layers. If you build it from scratch then you will require to create all the layers else if BI Apps is used then you will get pre-built RPD along with other pre-built components.
    3) if the physical tables creation is needed, how to complete the data transfer from the EBS source tables to BIEE physical tables? which ETL tool is prefer for most developers? warehouse builder or Oracle Data Integration?BI apps comes with pre-built ETL mapping to use with the tools majorly with Informatica. Only BI Apps 7.9.5.2 comes with ODI but oracle has plans to have only ODI for any further releases.
    4) During data transfer phase, if there are many many large volume data needs to transfer, how to keep the completeness? for example, it needs to transfer 1 million rows from source database to BIEE physical tables, when 50%is completed, the users try to open the BIEE report, can they see the new 50% data on the reports? is there some transaction control in ETL phase?User will still see old data because its good to turn on Cache and purge it after every load.

  • Question about Load Balance SFTP service by using CSS1150X

Does anyone come across of load balancing SFTP service by using CSS1150X? Typically by configuring CSS1150X to load balance FTP service, the configuration will as follow:
    content ftp_rule
    vip address 192.168.3.6
    protocol tcp
    port 21
    application ftp-control
    add service serv1
    add service serv2
    add service serv3
    active
    group ftp_group
    vip address 192.168.3.6
    add service serv1
    add service serv2
    add service serv3
    active
However, for my personal understanding and knowledge, I will configure my CSS1150X as follow to load balance SFTP service:
    content sftp_rule
    vip address 192.168.3.6
    protocol tcp
    port 22 //Change 21 to 22
    application ftp-control
    add service serv1
    add service serv2
    add service serv3
    active
    group sftp_group
    vip address 192.168.3.6
    add service serv1
    add service serv2
    add service serv3
    active
My question is, "application ftp-control" in content "ftp_rule" is still applicable to SFTP or not?

I believe application ftp-control would not be used for sftp.
This might cause the session to get dropped when there is no data channel created and cause issues with long connections.
    Hope it helps!!

  • Question about Load Balancing Wireless connections using WLC- F5- ISE

    Hi all,
Can anyone give me some orientation how the radius auth process/handshake between the WLC and ISE changes once the F5 is installed in the middle in order to perform load balancing?
We can do some kind of load balancing by configuring different radius servers on each WLC for which, I must configure the same shared secret in the WLC and ISE so the radius request/accept could be processed.
Now that we have the F5 in the middle, do I need to create/configure the same shared secret in the F5 so radius transactions can be processed by this device?. Based on the following link, I must configure the F5 in the ISE like another NAD device (similar to the WLC) but I do not know if this additional configuration in the ISE includes the Auth parameter to be added in the ISE NAD (F5) configuration.
How to properly use a load balancer in Cisco's Identity Services Engine

    Our sheme is shown next,

When you covert the pair into SSO, all the APs will go to the ACTIVE unit.  No unit will "live" in the standby unit because this unit will "share" the AP-support license between the two.
This is the first step you need to get sorted.  Send an email to [email protected] and give them the exact details of what you want to do (i. e.  AP SSO) and then provide the serial number of your nominated active WLC and the serial number of your nominated standby WLC.

  • Load balance between DLSw and CIP routers

Take a look on this environment:
    - 4 routers receiving all DLSw peers and circuits
    - 4 routers with CIP boards connected to 2 mainframes
All CIP routers are configured with same MAC address. All routers (DLSw and CIP) are connected on a Ethernet LAN switching, so this traffic are pure LLC2.
How I can balance the traffic between DLSw and CIP routers ?
    Thank's in advance.

I am not sure if I totally understand the topology. Let me rephrase it. Please correct me if I misunderstand the topology. In a data centre, there are 4 DLSw routers terminating DLSw peer connections from the remote sites. In the same data centre, there are 4 CIP routers which connects to 2 mainframes. CSNA is configured on all CIP router, which uses the same MAC. You configure transparent bridging on the DLSw routers, which connect to the same ethernet switches as the CIP routers. You configure SR/TLB on the CIP routers; so that all LLC2 circuits coming from the DLSw routers connect through the ethernet interfaces of the CIP routers.
Do you want the LLC2 circuits from a DLSw router load balance across 4 CIP routers? As duplicate MAC address is not allowed, there is no way to connect all 4 DLSw routers and CIP 4 routers on the same VLAN.
I can think of a couple of workarounds.
    1. Enable SNASw on the 4 DLSw routers. Create a VDLC port on all 4 DLSw routers. The MAC address of the VDLC interface is the same. The VDLC MAC address is pointed by the remote SNA stations. Each DLSw router uses one of the CIP routers as DLUS.
    2. If this is the case, create 4 VLANs on the ethernet switches. Connect a pair of DLSw router and CIP router to each VLAN.

  • Question about the difference between HDDs and SSDs

Hi. I currently have a MacBook (Black one) that's overheating a lot for the past few months. I'm thinking about purchasing a MacBook Pro for school because it seems to be more stable. I have a question though. What is the difference between HDDs and SSDs? Which one is better? All I know is that with my MacBook and my iBook is that I had hard drive failures (iBook hard drive clicking, MacBook hard drive sounding loud and making my computer overheat). Are hard drive failures normal with Macs?
    Thank you

Depends what you mean by "better." Faster? Yes. The 500 has 3x more storage capacity.

  • Questions about the differences between Arch and Chakra.

I'm trying to decide whether to install Arch or Chakra on my laptop. Currently, I'm running Arch on my desktop and Windows 7 on my laptop (which I plan to overwrite). My skill level with GNU/Linux is somewhat intermediate – noobs refer to me as an expert, experts refer to me as a noob. If it matters, I'm a KDE user and primarily use my computers for web browsing and python development. Anyway, I just wanted to get an objective opinion on the differences between Arch and Chakra. I have a few points that stand out to me, but I welcome any input.
    -Stability
I started my journey into GNU/Linux with Debian back in 2009 due to it's stability. I really disliked Debian's ancient software and considered moving my system to Unstable. While doing some googling about Debian Unstable, I stumbled across Arch – it was love at first sight. I've been an Arch user ever since. I love the bleeding edge software, and haven't had any major problems since I originally installed it. However, every time I run a system update I cringe a little. While Arch hasn't broken on me yet, I've read plenty of horror stories and it makes me uneasy. I understand that Chakra is a mix between a point and rolling release model. Is it any more or less stable than Arch? I know there are other distrobutions out there, but I'm in love with the Arch philosophy.
    -Security
Pretty self-explanatory, but is there any difference in security between the two?
    -AUR
As much as I love Arch, I wouldn't be able to stand it if it weren't for the massive collection of software available in the AUR. While I'm perfectly capable of compiling software myself, I prefer to use a command like tool like yaourt to manage my software. I understand that Chakra doesn't officially support the AUR and that they have their own user repository. Seeing as Chakra is still relatively new, is it lacking? Will I miss the AUR as a Chakra user?
    -Repositories
Is there much difference in the official repositories between the two distrobutions?

My take on Chakra is that it's the same as Arch with different developers.  They use pacman. They have a different and rather nice build system for their developers. They're doing a good job, but I'd hate to give up the services of Allan McRae who must work full time keeping the Archlinux core and toolchain up to date.  Chakra devs probably piggy-back off his work.
As for "semi" rolling: I don't see Chakra as having a stable core.  A stable core sounds attractive, it would be like NetBSD which has a very stable core Unix operating system with apps added via pkgsrc.  But Chakra's core and toolchain is at the same version levels as Archlinux most of the time and are no more tested and stabilized than ours. Their core packages are updated piecemeal just like ours; there is no stable core that is released as a unit (afaik). Today Chakra has gcc 4.7 / glibc 2.15 just like ours. Their kernel is a little more stable: they're using udev 181 / linux 3.2.8 while Arch is on udev 182 / linux 3.3.7.  They are more conservative in upgrading xorg and the video drivers than Arch.  For example, today they're on xorg-server 1.10.4 / intel video 2.17 while Arch is up-to-the-bleeding-edge-minute with xorg-server 1.12.1.902 and intel video 2.19.  Yeah, I would consider Chakra to be a little more "stable" than Arch mainly because of their relaxed pace in changing the kernel and the xorg stuff.
Most of the patches that I look at for Arch packages (I build my system entirely from source and try to build monthly releases for myself) are needed because we use more recent core packages like glib2/glibc/gcc than the developers of higher level stuff like qt.  Chakra is in the same situation.  We're on the front of the wave
The Chakra CCR is compatible with the Arch AUR and mainly draws from AUR (an AUR buildscript will usually work fine on a Chakra system -- they just add one or two additional info fields.)  With a little effort you could get any package installed on a Chakra system that is available on Arch.

I am a newbie of bluetooth communication. This time I need to have connumication between PC and mobile device (mainly mobile phone) by sending strings. PC is acted as server and mobile device act as client.

    i haven't worked with devices but only with the toolkit emulators;
    it definitely is possible...
u have to send the image as a bytestream and receive the image at the jsp end...
    and then reconstruct the image.
the Stream classes in J2ME AND J2SE are all u will require.
    also the Image class.
i have not done this but i have successfully sent an image frm a jsp and displayed it on the emulator.

  • A question about a difference between CS3 and CS6 (sorry if it's wrong addressed)

When I place in InDesign (both CS3 and CS6) a transparent tif image (CMYK) there is a difference between those created in Photoshop CS3 (correct) and CS6 (white background). Why?

EDIT: With the new InDesign CS6 update (8.1) Photoshop CS6 tifs with transparency import correctly now. Thank you

  • Question about the difference between MSPP and MSTP

    Hell,
I wonder what is different between 15454 MSPP and SMTP.
    Any answer will be appreciated.
    Thanks

MSPP and MSTP both use the same chassis. control and communication cards and software. The difference is that MSPP uses TDM (SONET and SDH) cards OCn, STMn, Cross connect, while MSTP is DWDM i.e transponders, ROADM, pre-amps e.t.c

  • Load balance between MPLS and VPN

    Dear All
There are two locations, site A and site B. I am confused with it. Any one can help to understand it? The site A and B are connected with two paths. One is MPLS and another is VPN over internet. we want MPLS as primary path and L2L VPN as backup. Only when primary path is down, VPN can be used. How can we configure it ? Can you give me suggestion ? or a link. Thank you.

    Hello yangfrank,
You can set this with a floating static using tracking with ip sla.
Your primary route will be via MPLS
    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 x.x.x.x track 1 (via MPLS)
    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 y.y.y.y 10 (via VPN)
    ip sla 1
    icmp-echo z.z.z.z source interface gix/x (MPLS interface)
ip sla schedule 1 life forever start-time now
track 1 ip sla 1 reachability
    here are examples:

    hope this helps

  • Recommended configuration for load balanced Portal with load balancer, multiple gateways and multiple servers.

Does anyone have a recommended network, hardware and software configuration guide for a Portal installation running with multiple gateways load balanced (ie one URL) that talk to multiple servers?

    David,
We've used Resonate (software) to load balance the gateways. It allows
you to group all the gateways under 1 virtual URL and load balance the
incoming connections over each gateway depending on the rules that you
define in Resonate. Look in the SUN portal whitepapers there is one that
    talks about it specifically.
As far as load balancing the calls to the portals, the gateways will
automatically load balance across all the portals that they know about
using a simple round-robin rotation. You may be able to use Resonate in
front of the portals but you may need to activate persistance within
Resonate to ensure that the user always ends up on the portal that he
established his initial connection on (if you want that), check with Sun
    on this one.

  • Load balancing between application server and database

    Hi,
is there any load balancing between the application server and the database? Consider we have a single instance of an application server that sends database queries from different clients to the database. Are the requests queued in some way at the application server, allowing to control the flow of the queries (e.g. queries from "more important" clients might be sent with a higher priority)?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Victor/Jim/Volker,
Thanks a lot for all the responses..
Just wanted to let you guys know that my installation finished successfully.
The thing which confused me was that my Qtime, Qdate and everything else was showing correct values..
Well, my problem I set the environmental variable PASE_TZ to the EST time zone on a SYS level using WRKENVVAR>F4>SYS and added the variable. I logged off and the sidofr logged off, but one user which should have logged off and didn't was the "SAPINST"(my installation user) which was logged in the subsystem TMKSVR00.
Even when I had closed the SAPINST installlation program, the user doesn't log off...it just sits there until and unless u shut him out of the system using the option 4 on wrkactjob for ending the JOB(SAPINST logged in the system below the TMKSVR00 subsystem)
So since the SAPISNT user never logged of, his environmental variables were not initilized properly, even after the changes...
This thought came to me almost after a 6 hours of wasting my time searching for notes here and there...
I think when u end/stop the install in SAPINST, the SAPINST user should log off the AS400 system, but I have noticed, it never does...although when u restart the installation, if u have noticed it shows you the log on for the SAPINST user in the TMKSVR screen...
Its kind of buggy, I would say...
I have noticed, that even when I log on to AS400 from home or from a remote PC using Emulator, it shows me logged in the subsystem and even after i have logged of, it still shows me there...
Anyway, thanks a lot guys...for all your responses..
Just wanted to let you know all.
    Thanks
    Abhi
