Question about searh help exit

Hi all
Can we implement our owen serch help exit , for instance Z_SHL_EXIT, and put it in the search help exit og the sap standar search help , in order to change its behavior or to call another search help.
let say that sap has a search help called CRAMA , but I want to delete some fields and add an extra field to it , then I can create an Z_CRAMA based on CRAMA after my requirement .
I can not change the way of calling the CRAMA and call Z_CRAMA.
Now , would I be able from CRAMA SEARCH HELP EXIT call Z_CRAMA searh help and use it.

For the particular field you have in mind, how is the elementary search help accessed? Directly or via one of the collective search helps? If via one of the collective search helps, you would be better off copying CRAMA, modifying it, then including it as an additional elementary search help with it's own title to differentiate it. Once the users start using it, it will be the default tab that shows up first in the collective help.

           I have one query regarding search help. I have created a elementary search help which is having two fields.Now my requirement is that in the selection screen when I will enter any value in one field and i will press F4 in other field the list should contain only the values corresponding to the first field.
e.g.two fields comp code and name of company. When I will select the company code and press F4 in the second field the companies corresponding to the particular code should appear. Should I write a particular exit for that.

Attach the search help to the table field
The search help ZSTRAVELAG_NAME is therefore directly attached to the field AGENCYNUM of table ZSTRAVELAG.
Attaching a search help to a data element
Provide the search help name and the parameter name
under the further characteristics tab of the data element.
If the input help of a field is defined by its data element, no further screen fields can be used in the input help.
Also note that the input F4 help would be available wherever the data element is used.
Attaching a search help to a screen element
A search help can be directly assigned to a screen field in two ways.
The name of the search help must be entered in the Screen Painter in the Attributes for the field in the field Search help.
The name of the search help can be defined for selection screens in ABAP reports in the PARAMETERS or SELECT-OPTIONS statement directly following the supplement MATCHCODE OBJECT.

Question about awarding "helpful" stars

One of my questions was just answered, and I wanted to award two "helpful" stars and one "solved" star. Evidently I didn't really understand how this works, because once I awarded the "solved" star, it wouldn't allow me to award the other "helpful" star, which I felt the third person in the thread deserved. I tried marking the message as "unsolved", but that didn't help. Is there any way to go back and award the last "helpful" star?

Last night I went over the entire thread repeatedly looking for a way to mark the last "helpful", and the "helpful" option was simply not available on any of the responses. It just wasn't there, and I couldn't find any way to get it to appear. I actually spent quite a bit of time scrolling up and down the thread looking for the "helpful" option.
However, I just went back to check again, and the "helpful" option has now appeared on 3 responses. So the answer seems to be that I CAN go back and award a "helpful" star after awarding a "solved" star, but for whatever reason, I can't do it immediately?
So evidently that problem wasn't a problem after all--just me messing up somehow. The stars can in fact be awarded in any order. But I think I'll try awarding the green one last after this so I can do them all at once.
Thanks everybody for all your help. Now on to the hard part--awarding the stars. Sometimes I wish I could turn the green one into two gold ones so I could award them to more people. So often the solution does not come from just one person, but from many. Beginner's question about naming helper classes

Hello,
I am building a pretty basic multi-tier application. I want to reduce a much as possible the dependencies between the web tier and the ejb tier. Ideally I would like for the web tier to construct a request object (of class MyRequest) and send it to the ejb tier that would then return a results object (of class MyResults).
These would therefore be the only two classes that BOTH the ejb and web tier would be aware of. All other classes would either belong to the web tier OR the ejb tier.
My question relates to the naming of these two classes. I would like to have different package names for the two classes as follows:
-web-tier request object will be of type com.mycompany.web.MyRequest
-ejb-tier request object will be of type com.mycompany.ejb.MyRequest
-web-tier results object will be of type com.mycompany.web.MyResults
-ejb-tier results object will be of type com.mycompany.ejb.MyResults
I am getting errors with that. Is there a way around it?

Hello PinkyDead and thanks for your answer,
I got the errors on another project and can't remember which. Class Cast Exceptions perhaps. I had to change the package names so that they matched in the web tier and the ejb tier. (which is what I don't like).
As far as the new project is concerned I am trying to design the application as well as possible and your comments are therefore useful. Better getting the design right before starting coding.
Can you or anyone tell me what architecture would be better that the one I proposed?? Don't you agree that at least some classes have to be shared by the web tier and the ejb tier? How can it be otherwise?

Complex question about masks - help needed please

Hello folks,
new to this forum and new to After Effects. I hope you can help me achieve a particular animation.
The result I want is to move a pair of glasses across the frame and through the left lens of the glasses, the background image is made clearer.
I have 3 layers. The bottom layer has one image (the image in focus), the middle layer up has another image (the same image as the bottom layer but out of focus), the top layer has an image of a pair of glasses.
I want to, first of all, select the area within the left lens of the glasses and make this a mask and have it move when the glasses move across the frame.
Is there an easy way to select a complex area like you have in Photoshop?
I then want this mask to subtract the middle layer image to reveal the background layer.
The mask would move with the pair of glasses.
How do I make the mask apply to the middle layer to cut it out to reveal the bottom layer?

While you are reading the links Szalam gave you (I recommand you to read them all), here is how you could achieve this.
Create a new solid on top of your glasses, roughly the size of your lense (just a little bigger than the area you want to mask out).
Then use the pen tool to draw a mask with the shape to be used as a "hole" for your second layer. Be sure to have your solid layer selected before drawing the mask.
You will now a have a solid layer on top of your glasses with the shape of the lens. To make it follow your glasses, parent it to the glasses using the parent dropdown menu in the timeline, next to your layer's name.
Now in the stack, move your solid on top of your out of focus layer. Then select your out of focus layer, display the matte/mode column and in the matte dropdown select alpha (or alpha inverted). AE will then use your solid layer as a mask to cut out your out of focus layer.

No visible cursor, and question about the help-file

Right now I am using a temporary computer, as mine is being re-formated.
When I opened Illustrator to change a text-line in a picture, there was no cursor when I clicked on a word. I could still make my change, but no blinking cursor to tell me where I was. Can somebody please tell me where that setting is? It feels like I am working blind...
I looked for this in the help-file, and while doing that (and not finding the answer), I wondered, as so many times before, how they thought at Adobe when they constructed the help-file as it is now... If I open the help-file in Illustrator, select that I want an answer for Illustrator (the icon to the right of the search-box) WHY do I get answers for InDesign, Bridge and other programs???? WHY not just for Illustrator? I am NOT interested in those programs right now, I want an answer for Illustrator. Please tell me there's a setting or something to fix this, because this drives me crazy each time I want help with something.

Thanks for your answer. For some strange reason the problem is now fixed... I checked the second box in Settings/General that says something like "use exact cursors", restarted the program and no change. Then I went for a coffee break and now it works

Question about the ability of Genius Bar to help with outside software...

Hi I wasn't sure where to put this, but here's my question. I'm having a problem with the Sims 2 on my Macbook and I was wondering if I go to the Genius Bar will they be able to help me or are they strictly hands off when it's not a direct Apple product?
Also, I bought an external hard drive in the Apple Store but it's not an Apple branded product. If I'm having a problem with that, can I go to the Apple Store?

If it's a question about the installation, system requirements or compatibility with your MacBook, the Mac Genius can probably help. If you're having some kind of issue while using the Sims 2, you'll probably have to contact .
The same is true with the hard drive. If you need some help getting it connected or even formatted, they can probably help. However, if it's not powering up or you're losing files or some kind of operational issue with the hard drive after it's connected, they'll probably refer you to the manufacturer.
Usually Apple can't support other vendors' products. Someone here may be able to give you some more advice, since none of us work for Apple. There may be someone here who's already had the same issue with the Sims.

Need help with Java, have a few questions about my Applet

Purpose of the program: To create a mortgage calculator that will allow the user to input the loan principal then select 1 of 3 choices from a combo-box (7 years @ 5.35%, 15 years @ 5.50%, 30 years @ 5.75%).
Problem: My program was working properly (so I thought). I can get the program to properly compile and run through TextPad. However, I noticed that when the user clicks the calculate more than once (with the same input), it slightly alters the output calculations. So that is my first question, Why is it doing that? How can I get it only calculate that information once unless the user changes it etc?
My next question is regarding my exit button. I was told by my instructor (who has already stated he won't help any of us) that my exit button does not work for an applet and only for an application. So, how can I create an exit button that will work with an applet? I thought I did it right but I can't find any resources online for this.
Next question, why isn't my program properly validating invalid input? My program should only allow numeric input and nothing more.
And last question, when invalid input is entered and the user clicks calculate, why isn't my JOptionPane window for error messages not displaying?
