I have a table xyz and a package abc. How can I check all sql scripts/objects/users that are using these objects (table xyz & package abc)?

Question about implementing a clock using a Timer object

Hello all, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this question but I think so, as it regards a Swing component. I want to add a timer (a clock that starts at 0:00 and keeps track of how long the app is running) to a frame. I am just curious if using a Timer is the proper way to keep track of time, and just repaint() the clock object every second? (or more frequently if desired)... or is there a better way to do this? Hello,
Timer is not accurate. You can use Timer to display your component repeteadly, and System.currentTimeMillis() at each call to deduce the elapsed time.

Create a trigger while the table is being used

I have a scenario where i may have to create a trigger while the source table is being used by other process & applications. The source table gets about 100k hits/per hour. Would it be possiible for me to create a trigger on this table without having to shutdown all the process/applications that use it?

If you absolutely must do this without an outage window it is possible but you should ensure that you have done extensive testing of that trigger and trigger process to make sure that can't be any undesireable side effects.
Any such side effects could bring down your app if they prevent activity on the table involved. Depending on the type of trigger (e.g. row level or not) and what processing it does you need to be prepared to disable or remove that trigger in the event of a problem.

Web Cam being used by other application

I have a web cam that says is being used by other application when I try to Skype. I look at System Profiler and it says under hardware I have a SiGma Micro.
Why does occasionally comes on but is very dark and cloudy. How do I check USB to see if this is really the camera that is connected. The web Cam is self has not logo or company markings. I tried unplugging and switching ports with keyboard and mouse does nothing. What can I do?

As the error say, another application could be holding on to the webcam. What application are you using for your video chat? Check your task manager processes and see if there's any applications that could also be using the webcam feature like MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, etc...and end their task if you're not using them.

Can't create table that grows using the button object

Im a beginner, and this seems like a simple issue. Appreciate your help in advance. When I try to do this, the button fails to add a row.
So, I printed out the Help section entitled, "create a table that grows using the button object" and started from scratch with a simple table as the only object on the form- and followed the instructions to the letter.
When I go to preview and click the button, a row is not added.
Can you suggest something?

Try this:
Select body row of table from hierarchy palette that you want to repeat then on he object tab of the properties tab select binding tab. You need to click on "Repeat Row for Each Data Item"

I want to make a script which can give me an answer, that If there is any table , then Whether It's using in any stored procedure or not ? If yes, then what the occurrence in procedures - means if table is "ABC" & Its being used in stored procedure
"XYZ" then i want to know that its using 1 time, 2 time or more in particular procedure ..

please use sql_modules to get the full definition of the DB Objects
you can replace stg_table with your decided table, also use dbname.schemaname.tablename if you want to get Cross DB dependency

How to search stored procedures being used by rpt files?

I have a lot of rpt files, each of them at least use one stored-procedure.
If I want to know a specific stored-procedure is being used by which rpt files,
is there any fast methods rather than opening the rpt files one by one to check manually?

Try one of the 3rd party report documenters, such as Report Miner. Not sure, most do a crappy job about returning the data source...
Another means would be to run a trace on the database and execute the reports, which is pretty kludgy as well.
I put documentation into every report, so that exporting to report definition supplies this info.
A good tip is to add a suppressed report header section and place documentation, revision history, etc., in there.

Question about table compression

I administer several 10g databases, and have been asked to compress tables in several tablespaces. I am unfamiliar with using compression. I have read some Oracle documentation on the ALTER TABLE... MOVE COMPRESSION command, but still have several questions. Can anyone recommend a good white paper, or other documentation on how best to compress tables with existing data? Thank you in advance for your guidance!

Basically, I have questions about how to select which tables will benefit from compression. I also read somewhere that, once a table has been compressed, new updates to the compressed data will not be compressed and so I will need to re-compress the tables periodically.
I also needed to know if the ALTER TABLE statement will compress the existing data or just future inserted data. Through further research I found that by using the MOVE clause, it will compress the existing data. I will also need to rebuild the indexes once the ALTER TABLE statement is complete.

Question about table COEP

Hi SAP Expert and Guru,
Currently I am gathering the Invoice Document Number from Project ID and below is my table flow.
Project ID/ WBS is being inserted to table PRPS-PSPHI,
Then the Object Number from PRPS-OBJNR is being captured and being used in table COEP-OBJNR to derive the value in COEP-BELNR.
Later the value in COEP-BELNR is being used in table COBK-BELNR to derive the invoice number in COBK-REFBN.
My question now is, is there any other table that we can use to replace table COEP, in order to get the Object Number OBJNR linked up with the Document Number BELNR which can be used in table COBK to derive the Invoice Number.
Kindly Advise and consult.

Why dont you try to use the OBJNR from PRPS and use it in the COFP table?
I think you should be able to get the details you are looking for.

My macbook pro says that 500 gb are being used by other storage. how do i fix this?

In my system info it says that 500 GB's are being used up by "other" Information and I have not found out where this information is. How to check if a DSO Active Table is being used in any look-up's?

Hi Gurus,
We have a DSO that is being loaded on a weekly basis. Now this DSO is being loaded right from the time our project went live. There are no reports built on top of this DSO and the DSO is not being used as a Data Mart i.e. it doesn't feed any other DSO's or InfoCube's. Also this DSO is not being used in any MultiProviders.
So the only sensible reason for using this DSO that we can think of is that the data from this DSO is being 'looked up' by some other DSO's or InfoCube at run-time. So Is it possible to check if the active data table of an DSO is being ;looked up' at run time by some other data loads? I already tried using an 'Where Used List' on the active data table of the DSO, but it didn't show any results.

Try the following:
Check the table RSAABAP in SE16, you can search the technical name of DSOs active table in field EDIC.
You get all Code-IDs, where this table is used in ABAP coding.
In RSAROUT you can check, which code-type it is.
Now you know, if the DSO is used in any routines.

How can I see what database tables are used in all my online reports? I have around 1000 reports posted to Enterprise over 6 different datasources. If possible I would like to see the fields within those tables that are being used to.
I am using Crystal Reports XI Release 2

I don't think you can see the databases of the reports unless you download the report onto your pc as a Crystal Report format and then open it under Crystal Reports.
This way it will open the report within Crystal Reports and will show you the datasource it is coming from.
I doubt if you can see them online.

Simple question about table structure and HR in BW

i need to following data from HR:
current FTE, employee number, cost place
i dont think the current FTE is stored per employee. Therefor is would need a list that contains:
mutation start date, mutation end date, FTE, employee, cost place
i think cost place is a custom field.
my question : what tables names and field names do i need?

Hi,
For Head Count you can use 0HR_PA_0 datasource and the other Employee details like start date and end date you can get them from employee master data and FTE can be calculated from the Emloyee Master Data and Head count data.
