Question as a non resident about tax form w-9

I am a non resident student currently in U.S. without SSN or EIN or ITIN. so how should I fill the tax form w-9? what should i fill in on section 4 and 6?
thank you.

If you have a SSN, and carry a USA tax liablity, use it.
If not, what you do depends on what country you're from and where your tax obligation is. You have chosen not to mention that detail, so it's not possible to offer any as well, sorry.
As always, it's best to talk to a tax expert/lawyer who specializes in your case/example rather than seek tax advice from strangers in a forum. I am not the former.

  • Non Resident County Tax Missing on Magnetic Media

We have people that live in Ohio and work in Wayne County, Indiana.  The Ohio residents pay Wayne County, IN tax at the non-resident rate.  On our magnetic media for Indiana, only Indiana residents showed the Wayne County tax on the file.  Should another tax authority magnetic media be selected to report those Ohio residents that have the Wayne County, IN tax withheld?
Thanks for any guidance you can provide.....

    Hi,
Check in Tax reporter the form for W2 magnetic media for Michigan in IMG whether special download parameter 'Insert CRLF btw records'  is set as 'CRLF' in directly option. If not, add this & then check the form.
You can also check SAP note for W2 for Michigan for any changes in year 2007. Generally SAP releases the note for the states for any changes.
    Hope this will help you.
    Thanks,
    Sarika.

  • Questions about Lulu ISBN, Tax forms, distribution, Please help

    Hello,
I've wrote some poetry books and I recently added a new one.
I hope I can ask the right questions and get the most up-to-date and correct answers.
Well, I got the Free ISBN numbers from Lulu for all my books. I went for the global distribution.
I went to update one of them tonight, before I buy proof copies of them all, and go through to 'accept' the distribution.
I was going to purchase them some time this week.
But when I went to update one of them, it said my title and author's name was 'locked'.
I am worried about the whole tax forms thing, because honestly I don't know how that works, and I just wanted to write books, buy copies for my friends and family, and hopefully, if it is possible, get my books into some bookstores online or something. I don't know, just as long as people read them, I don't care so much about making money because poetry for me is great therapy and an emotional outlet.
    So I guess I'm wondering:
Do I have to fill out tax forms in order to continue with the Free Lulu ISBN number and global distribution?
I don't have a lot of money to spend on distribution and I just really CANNOT do the thing with the taxes. And I don't really understand it.
I'm ashamed to have to ask these questions. I did read the terms of service and all, but I didn't know if it would really affect me or apply to me in a way where I HAD to pay anything for my books to be distributed.
I know I should have asked this before hand, that's why I'm embarassed now. Please bear with me, I'm really new to understanding this kind of stuff.
I live in the USA by the way.
Also, if I DO have to fill out tax forms in order to get the free isbn from lulu and global distribution, is there any other way I can still have my books available for people to buy without me having to fill out tax forms and all?
And would 'any other way' mean me having to start my books over again here on lulu (like, retire them and start new projects)?
Any information will help me greatly. I apologize for my ignorance of the subjects.
Thank you in advance, I greatly appreciate it.

    Hi!
    Thanks for replying.
My books don't sell much at all, and I don't mind. I just thought that having an ISBN would make it more available to people, along with having the global distribution. I'd like to try to give a copy to my library and another bookstore here in town, the lady that owns it has taken my brother's books before that he wrote, as well. I wasn't sure if either of them required an ISBN or not. I'll try to go talk to them sometime so I will know. My brother used Lulu for one of his books, but used ... I think it was called 'damnation publishing' or something (it was a horror novel, please excuse the name).
I understand and thank you for explaining what you did. But I have a tiny issue I might need to talk to someone in private about. I didn't really want to say it publicly.
I'm really just writing books for fun, it's a great way to get out frustrations creatively. And I've been writing poetry for years now. I just like to have a copy of my book to say to myself "I did this, I can do something with my life".
Well I'll tell just a little of my issue here... I live with my mom, I'm in my 30's and she advised me not to do the global distribution after I told her about what I read concerning taxes and all. She wants me to ... I think ... drop the ISBN and global distribution due to any taxes that will ever come with it. My aunt is into taxes for a living, and maybe she can explain it more to me.
I, too, think it will be okay since I don't sell many books (I've been publishing here on lulu since 2012 after my dad died and I still haven't sold one book... I do buy them, however, and pass them out to friends and family). But my mom sorta got scared about this when I told her about taxes.
Well, I'll just say it. I'm disabled, and I don't do taxes that I know of. My mom pays them but I don't think I do. (I've got some illnesses, I'm embarassed to say).
So that's why I was not sure about how the whole taxes thing would affect me.
I'm embarassed because I know a lot of people would look down on me because of my illnesses and maybe ask 'why are you on the internet if you're sick?' ya know. I'm very ashamed of my situation, but making books on lulu gives me something to look forward to in life. It's something I'm able to sit and do. (And I know I shouldn't worry what others think about me.)
Anyway, I apologize for giving a life background story. I just wasn't sure how or if all this would affect me at all.
I highly doubt my books will sell millions. I'm just happy to be here, and getting to do something.
Well anyway, I do greatly appreciate your answer to my questions. I really do. I'll check back in a little while to see if anyone else knows anything about these subjects.
I thank you again for your knowledge. :-)
OH, also, would it be easier for me to just set the prices of my books so I don't get any revenue? I know this may sound strange, but I just love writing. I don't mind not getting paid as long as people will read my books.

  • How to fill TAX Form W-8IMY for Individual Non-USA developer?

    Hello,
Firstly: I couldn't find a simple remove-formatting option in the wsiwyg editor of this new post entry box, so the copy paste resulted in a text like this.
Now my question: I had never filled up this form TAX Form W-8IMY before and searching internet shows only how to fill up form Form
W-8 BEN for windowsphone store but not the form W-8IMY which shows up in my account. It has some fields which I don't understand like  Type
of entity and rest from part 3 onwards.  I am an Individual Non-USA based developer.
If you have any sample tutorial, blog, etc that can tell me how to fill up this tax form then it will be of great help.
    Thanks,
    AJ

  • Multi-State Non-Resident Tax

    Hello,
In the case where you have employees who live in one state but who may work in multiple states during a pay period (i.e. traveling sales employees, or consultants) how are you handling the collection of time spent in each state for payroll tax purposes?  We have considered using the percentage on the IT208 to prorate the time, and have also discussed using the CAT2 time sheet.  I'm looking for how others are handling this.  Is anyone willing to share how their company handles captures time for multi-state non-resident taxation?
We can talk off-line if you prefer.
    Thank you,
    Cheryl

    Hi Cheryl,
There is an SAP functionality of Work Tax Area Override which can used from combination of IT2010 (maintaining tax area under Tax area record type field) and processing class 67.
This will charge time entered on IT2010 only to tax on work tax area entered in IT2010 against it and that wage type should be marked for PCL 67 too.
There are changes required to sub-schema UT00 for this to work properly.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Ameet

  • Few common questions about Mobile Forms

    Hello, everyone!
I have a few questions about mobile forms:
Can a form be integrated with a portal, which is build NOT on Adobe CQ\AEM technology?
I've created a form and loaded it to the server repository via Form Manager. Now I can access it in my browser like this:
    http://testlcserver:8080/lc/content/xfaforms/profiles/hrform.html?contentRoot=repository%3 A%2F%2F%2FApplications%2FTest%2F1.0&template=UberForm.xdp&dataRef=
And the question is: what is the right way to share forms to users on a production environment (without integration in a portal pages on so on, let it be just a link to a form which users have to fill in)?  I mean, should it be the same link, or it is only for developers need and to share forms to users some other way must be used?

For integrating on custom portal, you would need to integrate with form submit proxy for handling of submission as mentioned @ http://helpx.adobe.com/livecycle/help/mobile-forms/mobile-forms-service-proxy.html.
As far as url of form is concerned, it’s really up you. You can choose to hide the request parameters as couple of other customers are doing. You can find more information about hiding form template and content root from request parameter @ http://blogs.adobe.com/foxes/hide-parameters-from-mobile-form-url/

  • Questions About Data Form

    Hi guys,
just a general question: When we make a "big" data form, it typically causes performance issues or crashes. My question is, what is limiting the size of the data form? Is it the fact that Essbase has to pull up a lot of data at once? Is it the fact that web applications are limited in capacity? Would just like to get people's thoughts on this general issue.
Another general, somewhat vague question: IF I did want to make a huge data form, lets just say 10 cost centers, 400 accounts per cost center on the rows and period, a couple of scenarios and years on the columns, would it help if I created a machine dedicated to the planning web app? Would increasing RAM/CPU help ?

Increasing the RAM will certainly help with forms as large forms can cause the Java application to crash, remember if it is 32bit planning you are restricted on the maximum memory setting, which is 2GB but in reality about 1.4-1.6GB
    Cheers

  • Simple question about tabular forms: error in MRU

    hi to all,
i write here to check if what i think about tabular forms is confirmed.
If i build a master- detail or tabular form and the underlying table are modified, the page where the tabulare form is contained doesn't work anymore.
if what i've written above is correct, is there a way to realign the fields of the tabular forms to the db fields and make my page work again without rebuilding all?
Can i modify something, somewhere inside apex to make my page run again?
The error i get (in italian / english)
Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: Errore in MRU: riga= 0, ORA-20001: ORA-20001: La versione corrente dei dati nel database è cambiata da quando l'utente ha iniziato il processo di aggiornamento. checksum corrente = "ED73B05FA6016F8D5F3B4B5B69AF482D", checksum elementi = "CFD72DCC4221A340057D654B54EA7A04"., update "NEWPROJ"."CNT_VAL_SEG_DEMO" set "ID" = :b1, "FK_CNT" = :b2
Means: The version of data in db (fields of the tables?) has changed since the user started the update process.
By the way this sentence under my opinion can trick you as
in italian 'La versione corrente dei dati nel database'
can means both that data contained in tables have changed (dml error / process error / data the user see not are the real underlying data). Can mean as well the field definition is changed, however a more meaningful message in italian is: ' la definizione delle tabelle usate dall'oggetto tabular form é cambiata'.
That translated in english is ' DDL of table/s used by tabular form has changed'.
    thanx a lot

    HI Heinz,
yes is now clear, however is a pity that a litte change in the query has a lot of
implications: a change in the structure of DB means new feature / the data model is not alligned with current requirement. So usually (but not always) it means changing the SELECT as well.
Such Apex is a Rad an impression is that if you build a complex forms with several linked reports / field and one day you have to change the query of the TABULAR FORM / MASTER DETAIL generated with report you get a lot of rebuilding.
I think i will avoid the use of this 2 object in the future and use more htmldb.items in the select.
    bye bye

  • Non-Resident Alien Wagetypes

    Hello All,
We are in the process of configuring for Non-Resident Alien processing in US Payroll.  I'm understanding that certain processing classes need to be using in order to process the correct taxes.
My question is:  For every "income" type of wagetype, do I need to have a non-resident alien version of that wagetype (this would be 10-15 different clones of the regular versions, like reg pay, vacation, bonus, etc.) or is there some way of dynamically saying this person is a NRA so tax as such?
    Thanks,
    DP

    Hi Dayton Power,
    Did you completed this implementation?
We are also planning to implement Non Resident Alien taxation in SAP US Payroll. Can you share your experience?
    Appreciate your time.
    Thanks and regards

  • IPhone Developer Banking/Tax Form issues:  W8BEN, GST506E and SWIFT CODE

    Hey guys,
I am new to this entire iphone development thing and having a hard time with this whole Banking/Tax Information process. I have a few questions I'd like to ask:
    1) I cannot for the life of me see a link anywhere on iTunes Connect to fill out an SS-4 or a W8BEN. Many have done so and even Apple's FAQ includes instructions and locations of these links for the forms. The FAQ also states that the W8BEN form must be done through Apple if being completed the first time and then mailed to update. I have looked all over but could not find it. I have heard rumours on other forums that W8BEN is no longer needed. Can this be confirmed?
Does anyone know if I am still required to fill the W8BEN form out?
    2) Regarding the GST506E form, I have filled out the Legal Name portion with my legal name (including middle name), which I use for most of my legal documents in Canada, however my paid contract has already been electronically signed with my name (without the middle name). Will this provide an issue to the entire process?
    3) Similar to the missing W8BEN form, I did not find a place to enter my SWIFT CODE when filling out the banking information. At the moment the Banking info is frozen in place for "24 hours", waiting for the tax forms to come in. Is this still necessary?
    4) Does Apple have a number I can reach them at with regards to these issues I am having? The only place I can turn to is [email protected], but these guys have not emailed me back in almost a week. I have also tried [email protected] and [email protected], no luck either.
I apologize for the long post, but this entire process is getting too frustrating and I am hoping someone here know the answers.
    Thanks for reading my post!
    Peter

Thanks a lot for your post! I've been worrying they did not receive my info since they did not reply in any way. We'll see once the next payments come. I think they at least should have emailed me confirmation that the message was received. The same way they work with technical requests.
Still. Does anyone know what to do about corespondent banks info?

  • Acrobat 8 Standard - Printing Tax Forms in Black - No Forms Toolbar

I have filled out some tax forms in Acrobat 8 Standard, however, the font color for the filled out text is blue, and thus prints as a hard-to-read grey when printing on the laser printer.  I've searched and the standard advice seems to be to use the forms toolbar to change the font color, but when I go to View -> Toolbars, there is no option for the Forms toolbar.
Is there any way I can get this damned text to print as black?  Seems kinda silly to have a form fill-out function that you can't print the result of!

I was very pleased to find this info too. Thanks.
But something a little more important than how to do it is why is it so hard to find? I'm sure there are many more people out there who can't find this and I think it's because it's hard to find. The intuitive functionality, offered by the Properties Bar in Acrobat, called the Control bar in Illustrator, and the Options bar in Photoshop. Acrobat also appears to be the only one in that list that doesn't contain a secondary tool pallet for each function offered by the Properties bar, found in the Window menu.
I've been through everything Tina looked at and most of them seemed like they should contain the font color, although I couldn't find the Document Colors Option. And if it turned out that you can't edit the color, why would it pick red?
So my two questions are, why is this solution so hard to find?
How do you change the default font color so you don't need the Properties bar?
Ok, I feel better now :)

  • XI and tax forms

I need help.  I downloaded Adobe XI to my MAC OS X 10.8.  Wis Dept of Revenue requires more recent version to process taxes.
I downloaded XI without apparent difficulty and the dialogue box said installation ws completed successfully.  The tax forms remain frozen.  Error message says if this message is not replaced with the document, you may have a problem.  I do.  But what does one do about it.  I can print the pages and fill out by hand.
Fortunately I am old enough to do my own calculations - but i really would prefer to efile.  Anyone know what to do?

There are few things to consider here.
Are you using Acrobat or Reader? I am not sure what you mean by Adobe.
You need Acrobat to fill the eform and it also depends on your form author, whether there are fillable fields or not. Your form must be capable of performing auto calculations.
If you are using Reader, then your form author needs to read extend this form then only you would be able to fill the form.
    Hope that helps!!!

  • IBook 1099 Tax Form to Publishers

Does Apple send out 1099 tax forms to publishers? I have not received one. (But I have from Amazon and Barnes & Noble)
I went through iTunes Connect "Contact Us" without a specific answer to my question, so I thought I would ask on here.
If you are a publisher and know the answer to my question, I thank you in advance for your response.

I'm also waiting for my 1099 from Apple. However I wonder if they haven't sent me one because I earned less than $600. I'm pretty sure that you don't have to report income if your earnings are less than $600. I don't know that for sure though.
Off to check the IRS site. will report back if I find out anything.
